Duplicate node in configtool.sh after files sytem backup / restore
Hello,
We are doing EHP4 installations for our live ECC6 (ABAP+Java) landscape. We wanted to achieve EHP4 installation more consistently and accurately in our test system first. We are performing system copy from our Production system (sapecp) to TEST system host (sapecb) using full file system backup and restore.
We have restored most recent full file system backup of our PRD(sapecp) on our TEST System (sapecb). Due to the different host name of test system we aslo finished the host renaming steps from note 8307 and 757692. Our DBAsu2019 also adjust the new
host name in Oracle after the file system restore. After this we are able to start SAP instance successfully on TEST system.
However we have noticed that configtool.sh is now showing two nodes automatically instead of a single node in both PRD and TEST systems.
Q: Is their anything else we still need to change in configtool.sh in our TEST system to remove references of PRD ?
Q: is this a normal behavior of configtool.sh after a file system backup and restore ?
Q: is their a way to clean up the configtool nodes in both system ?
Please advice if anyone has faced the similar issue ?
Thanks,
Harshal
Dear Reagan,
Infra team did only the Backup Restore of the Prod system and no Export Import of Prod using the sapinst.
Should I do the export import as it sounds by your and Pavan's reply that it might be required
We are doing Restore for Dual stack first time done the backup restore for ABAP stack a couple of times for ECC Quality refresh.
Should this be the option that I should select in sapinst for JAVA Export and JAVA Import:
JAVA Export
JAVA Import

Music on my phone does not show all the iTunes artwork, even after doing a backup restore, eliminating all music and restoring I have an iphone5 64 syncing about 8000 songs, so updating all is a time consuming, and now maddening process. Never had a problem before iOS 8. Someone (hello Apple) needs to develop a utility to help manage artwork recovery.

Actions to be performed after a online backup restore
Hello Guru's,
I have an online backup of a system.
(AIX - ORACLE)
If I restore the backup using Tivoli Storage Manager I still have to perform some actions to recover the database.
I have read through the SAP documentation and it seems I can restore the logs using brtools (brrecover).
My questions actually is, which option do I have to take if I want to apply the offline archive logs as far as possible ?
"Complete database recovery" of "database point in time recovery" ?
I want to make sure that only the archivelogs are being applied and that the database restore is not peformed again.
Thank you all !
bye
BUDHello Hans,
> and it seems I can restore the logs using brtools (brrecover).
If you only want to restore your archivelogs, then use brrestore.
brrecover is for recovering the database, not for restoring.
Take a look at here:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/88/cadaca94734ae5b8ea3491f615741b/content.htm
and here:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/0d/d3077b4a0c11d182b80000e829fbfe/content.htm
> My questions actually is, which option do I have to take if I want to apply the offline archive logs as far as possible ?
> "Complete database recovery" of "database point in time recovery" ?
In this case you have to do an incomplete database recovery or in other words called "point in time recovery". For the difference between these two restore types take a look at the oracle documentation:
http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14192/intro004.htm#i1016863
After you have restored your archive logs you can perform the recovery manually:
> SQL> recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;
> SQL> cancel;
> SQL> alter database open resetlogs;
Btw.as you are using TDP for SAP you can use backfm to restore only some several files.

Can't sync applications after Time machine backup restoration
Hello.
I'm running 10.5.4 on a Macbook whose hard drive crashed. I replaced it with another one and restored from my closest time machine backup. Everything is OK with the files, the problem was when I tried to sync my ipod touch.
The ipod is running 2.0.2. It contained 9 applications, but after the first try to sync I got the error message that several applications couldn't be synced. For each of them I had a message like "Application blah blah could not be synced because you lack the permissions to do so".
More importantly, the iPod touch now doesn't contain any of these applications, even though they still get reported as a problem during syncing. Rather than deleted, they seem to be hidding, though I can't access any from the touch.
How can I recover my applications being synced without losing their data?I have used iTunes to reset the iPod to the factory default settings. After the syncronisation and reuploading of all my music and photos, I still get the same error on application syncing: I have no permissions to sync applications.
I have tried downloading new free applications from the App store, but it is the same, nothing gets synced, the new applications are added to the list of problematic programs that can't be synced.
Here's a snapshot of the error: http://gradha.sdf-eu.org/appsyncerror.png -
So just yesterday I reset my ipod touch 4g into factory settings by deleting all the content on it just because I had encountered some technical issues before that, but then after I had activated my ipod touch again and initiated a restore from an icloud backup, I noticed that the photostream feature was on but WITHOUT its previous contents that were there when I made the backup on icloud ! so why is this ?!! im confused ... only my cameraroll content was restored. Photostream feature was there but the window just says "NO PHOTOS". how can this even be?! i mean, it was with its content when i made the backup on icloud ! -_- and more interestingly, on my iphone 5(my other idevice), photostream can be found with all its content, but on my ipod touch 4g , the photostream has lost all its content after the factory reset cuz apparently icloud can't back up photostream content. SO plz suggest me what i should do to sort this out and recover my photostream content on my ipod touch 4g.. and TELL me how photostream all works.. THNX
This is the iPhone forum
That said... PhotoStream is a stream of photos. The contents of the PhotoStream are not part of the backup. PhotoStream will hold the last 30 days of photos on-line. After 30 days, the photos are deleted from the servers. If they have already been downloaded from the cloud and appear on a device, they will remain there. However... if the device is wiped, restored, etc. or PhotoStream on the device is turned off then back on, ONLY the photos still resident in the cloud will download.
If the photos were over 30 days old, they are no longer in the cloud. If you didn't have them backed up elsewhere, they are gone. -

--Run software update, which should tell you you need to upgrade to 10.6.4.
--Do not choose everything and update all at once, that crashed my kernel. I suggest you just update the system itself.

One additional complication was that I was restoring from Time Machine after a transfer from old MBP to new MBP via Migration Assistant. That could have been responsible for the kernel panic. I was required to use the shipping disk to reinstall the system and do disk repair before I could upgrade to 10.6.4. -
Hierarchy from flat file loading with errors - duplicate node names
Hello experts,
I am loading a product hierarchy from a flat file into a custom hierarchy
object. The issue is that it errors out saying I am loading
duplicates within nodes, however all node IDs within a level are unique.
It seems to be looking at the node name to determine uniqueness and I know
we have some duplication within the text there especially when you factor
in the 32 character limitation for the node name. Does anyone have an idea
as to whether it is possible to have it only consider the node ID instead
of the node name to determine uniqueness?
A colleague suggested using the link ID to fix this problem but I don't know how that field works or how to populate it.
I'm working in a BI 7.0 environment (I don't know if that makes a difference since you still have to use the 3.x objects to extract the hierarchy).
Any help would be appreciated.
NancyHi Nancy,
You may wish to check this OSS Note 1026749 - Hierarchies: Consistency check for duplicate nodes and 912115 (old one)
Symptom -
When you load or activate a hierarchy it terminates with error message RH 109 or RH 211. The hierarchy contains duplicate nodes and this is not allowed. The long texts of messages RH 109 or RH 211 do not describe the reason for the problem sufficiently or they are partially incorrect.
There is uncertainty about in which cases duplicate nodes exist in a hierarchy and in which cases duplicate nodes are allowed.
Hope this helps,
Bye...

SCOM Network Discovery - Duplicate nodes with different Device Keys (MAC address)
Hi There,
We have deplyed SCOM 2012 SP1 for server and network monitoring. In the "Network Devices" view, there are few duplicate node entries for the same device. When i look at the details of each entry, the device keys (MAC address) are
different. for example, if there are 3 entires for the same device, only one will have the correct MAC address and remaining 2 are incorrect.
Have anyone came across such issue? Any solution to avoid the duplicates?
Thanks.
Venu.
Best regards, Venu.Last Thursday (9/25/14), Microsoft provided me with an updated version of a file that is used as part of the discovery process. At first, it appeared to only resolve the issue for some devices which was disappointing. On Saturday, I decided
to remove all managed devices and rediscover everything from scratch. We have 237 devices to monitor. Since Saturday, I had one ICMP only device duplicate itself, but after I removed the duplicate, I have not had any other duplicates created and
there have been many rediscoveries ru nsince then. So far so good. I've asked Microsoft to keep the case open until next Monday. This weekend, I have a full discovery scheduled to run on a schedule. I'll feel good after that if there
are still no duplicates.
The file replaced is "ic-iftable.asl" which is located on each management server in the path ""\[ SCOM install directory]\Server\NetworkMonitoring\rules\discovery". I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share the updated version of
the file. I have not received an explanation from the support technician yet as to the root cause. They took at least 5 sets of trace logs during the discovery and subsequent rediscovery process before giving me this updated file. I'll let
you know. -
Summation of Duplicate Nodes in a Hierarchy
Hi all,
after creating a hierarchy with duplicate nodes (=nodes with the same characteristic value) the sum of the root node (above all) does not include the duplicate nodes.
Current Result:
ALL = 600 (root node)
--A = 300
----A1 = 100
----A2 = 200
--B = 400
----A1 = 100 (duplicate)
----B1 = 300
Expected Result:
ALL = 700 (root node)
--A = 300
----A1 = 100
----A2 = 200
--B = 400
----A1 = 100 (duplicate)
----B1 = 300
The sum of ALL should include A1 twice (=700), but it's considered only once (=600). The total result of ALL is not as expected.
In the SAP Help I have found the following:
"the values of the duplicate leaves are only considered once by the system internally. When aggregating, the system automatically calculates what are called correction leaves for the superordinate node."
<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/80/1a6743e07211d2acb80000e829fbfe/frameset.htm">SAP Help page</a>
Is there a way to disable these "correction leaves" ??

BI70 Hierachy duplicate node error
Hi,
We upgrade from BW 3.5 to BI70 SP9.
We have hierachy (loaded from PCFILE) based on 0GL_ACCOUNT, after upgrade i am getting dump error if i have duplicate interval node & activate. It works fine in BW35 also if i remove duplicate node, activation is not a problem. Infact all duplicates are not giving problem, somecase it gives error. Any changes in BI70 regarding duplicate nodes in hierachy ?
Your help is appeciated.
Thanks
RameshWe are upgrading from BW35 (SP10) to 2004s (SP9).
One of the step in the post process is SAP NW BI: Activating Hierarchy Versions, basically executing program RRINCLTAB_REBUILD. This gives dump, I try to activate hierarchy directly it gives same problem.
I tried as per previous suggestion, no solutions.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Cluster node does not shutdown after "received shutdown"
Hi,
We put together an automated restart process that restarts cluster nodes across multiple servers. To shutdown a node, we use the Coherence MBeanConnector and invoke stop on object: name=Management, nodeId=<member id>. This works for most cases where member's log output shows "received shutdown", partition transfer messages and after the last primary partitions have been transferred the VM exits.
For one node however, the VM did not exit. From looking at the log file for this particular node, the primary partitions were transferred, the distributedCache thread stops showing output, but the Cluster thread continues to show activity.
Note that this node was the last VM to stop on the given server.
Has anyone seen this before or ideas on why this particular node did not exit after receiving the shutdown message?
Thanks!
Marcel.Hi Marcel -
Please take a thread dump (via "kill -3" or "ctrl-break") on the VM that does not stop correctly. Coherence does not shut the VM down; it simply shuts itself down. If a non-daemon thread is running on the VM, then it may not exit. However, we won't know that until we see the thread dump.

I am using cFP 2000 RT in my application. When I build exe and download the application to the cFP 2000 RT, I get "Error 6 occured in Invoke Node in Dist Send Result File To RT.vi--> Build Application.vi"
The steps followed.
1. In the LabVIEW 7.0 Main Panel, Select the execution target as RT Target.
2. Tools --> Build Application or Shared Library. In the Target Tab the destination directory is selected as \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\c\ni-rt\startup automatically.
3. In the SOurce file tab, select the Top level VI.
4. Press Build to make the executable of the application. The application is built and at the end the error message is poped up. (see the attached file)
Software Configuratio
n:
1. LabVIEW 7.0
2. Field Point 4.0
3. LabVIEW RT 7.0
Help me solve this problem. Thanks in advance.
Attachments:
Error_Message_and_RT_Info.bmp 313 KBThis is most likely coming from the specific file it mentions in the error, Dist Send Result File To RT.vi. The error 6 means the file can't be found. One thing to try first is to add this VI as a Dynamic VI in Application Builder. Another option is to change the path that this VI is invoked from, or is not called by an Invoke Node at all.
I hope this helps, feel free to contact support if the problem continues.

How to delete the duplicate requests in a cube after compression.
Hi experts,
1. How to delete the duplicate requests in a cube after compression.?
2. How to show a charaterstics and a keyfigure side by side in a bex query output?
Regards,
Nishuv.Hi,
You cannot delete the request as its compressed as all the data would have been moved to E table ..
If you have the double records you may use the selective deletion .
Check this thread ..

Validation error after File upload
HI,
I am using a file upload functionality in OAF page.
When i browse for the required excel file and click on browse, the data is popluated on the oaf page.
I have 2 lov fields on page - say a & B.
B is a dependent LOV on A.
I have a validate button on my page which gets enabled only after file upload and validates if the data is correct or not.
The issue is like if i am having value in upload file for A as 1 and for B as 1800, but my LOV B has 2 values 1800 & 1800-01 for LOV A = 1, it gives me an error at that LOV "Select a Valid Value". If i open the LOV B window and select 1800 from it the data is correctly validated without any error.
Please help me that how can i rectify this error i.e. it should validate the data corrrectly if i pass the value 1800 to it thru excel sheet.See take an example of Employee name LOV .We know for every employee a unique emp Id is related to it.So if two person are having same name also then also their ID is different. In such cases , while creating LOV we create a FormValue for EmpID .Its not visible on Page but while validating the page formValues are also considered thereby it doesnot cause invalid value error...
In Your case, what you can do is the way you are populating the LOV field you can populate this FormValue to remove the Error.
Please Refer Jdev Guide for more info..
Hope it helps!!!
Thanks

operating system command uses txt file name as parameter.
Is it possible? How?
Thanks.Hi,
It should be possible, actually we have two options that are
1.RUN OS command before message processing
2.RUN OS command after message processing.
So you can give the commands in the RUN OS command after message processing.
