Duplicate node name in hierarchy.

Hello Experts I have uploaded cost center master data in the dimension .But when Uploading the hierarchy ,there is an error showing duplicate member ID . (Attached Sceen shot) . In BW ,the technical name of node name are similar for the parent and child .(attached Screen Shot ). How can i change the node name  while uploading the hierarchy or should change the hierarchy in the ECC?

Hi,
Can someone please let me know whether we can have same member name in a dimension for building a cube?
For Example:
I have one dimension Dim1 (Hierarchy) ,
Level2     Level1     Leaf     Leaf Code
L13 -      L11 -      L1 -      10
L13 -      L11 -      L2 -      11
L13 -      L12 -      L3 -      12
L13 -     L12 -      L4 -      13
L14 -      L11 -      L5 -      14
In this hierarchy, L11 is a member name in Level1 used under L13 and L14. Does Essbase cube support this?
Yes this is possible. You will have to enable the option for outline to allow duplicate members.

  • Hierarchy from flat file loading with errors - duplicate node names

    Hello experts,
I am loading a product hierarchy from a flat file into a custom hierarchy
object.  The issue is that it errors out saying I am loading
duplicates within nodes, however all node IDs within a level are unique.
It seems to be looking at the node name to determine uniqueness and I know
we have some duplication within the text there especially when you factor
in the 32 character limitation for the node name.  Does anyone have an idea
as to whether it is possible to have it only consider the node ID instead
of the node name to determine uniqueness?
A colleague suggested using the link ID to fix this problem but I don't know how that field works or how to populate it.
I'm working in a BI 7.0 environment (I don't know if that makes a difference since you still have to use the 3.x objects to extract the hierarchy).
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Nancy,
You may wish to check this OSS Note 1026749 - Hierarchies: Consistency check for duplicate nodes and 912115 (old one)
    Symptom -
When you load or activate a hierarchy it terminates with error message RH 109 or RH 211. The hierarchy contains duplicate nodes and this is not allowed. The long texts of messages RH 109 or RH 211 do not describe the reason for the problem sufficiently or they are partially incorrect.
There is uncertainty about in which cases duplicate nodes exist in a hierarchy and in which cases duplicate nodes are allowed.
    Hope this helps,

  • Summation of Duplicate Nodes in a Hierarchy

    Hi all,
after creating a hierarchy with duplicate nodes (=nodes with the same characteristic value) the sum of the root node (above all) does not include the duplicate nodes.
    Current Result:
    ALL = 600 (root node)
    --A = 300
    ----A1     = 100
    ----A2     = 200
    --B = 400
    ----A1      = 100 (duplicate)
    ----B1     = 300
    Expected Result:
    ALL = 700 (root node)
    --A = 300
    ----A1     = 100
    ----A2     = 200
    --B = 400
    ----A1      = 100 (duplicate)
    ----B1  = 300
The sum of ALL should include A1 twice (=700), but it's considered only once (=600). The total result of ALL is not as expected.
In the SAP Help I have found the following:
"the values of the duplicate leaves are only considered once by the system internally. When aggregating, the system automatically calculates what are called correction leaves for the superordinate node."
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/80/1a6743e07211d2acb80000e829fbfe/frameset.htm">SAP Help page</a>
Is there a way to disable these "correction leaves" ??

  • Duplicate nodes in hierarchy

    Hi all,
I am currently working on building dynamical (build via FM) hierarchies. My problem is as following:
How can I build a hierarchy that uses masterdata texts for its nodes that can be multiple times in the hierarchy?
    See product hierarchy example:
    Site A (Nodename=SITEA)
    -- Product Group 1 (PRODGR1)
    -- -- Product 1
    -- -- Product 2
    -- Product Group 2 (PRODGR2)
    Site B (SITEB)
    -- Product Group 1 (PRODGR1)
    -- -- Product 3
    -- -- Product 4
    -- Product Group 2 (PRODGR2)
This hierarchy wouldn't be generated because of the duplicate node names on level 2 (i.e. PRODGR1).
So how can I build up a hierarchy as above when I want to show the product group texts from its masterdata. The only way I see is to make the product group nodes identically (build NODENAME from combination of SITE and PRODGR) and build the description by my own. Does anybody know a nicer solution for this?
Many thanks for any hints in advance and best regards!

    Hello Dominik,
have you tried to use/generate the links in your hierarchy.
This is the standart way to have some master data value several times in one hierarchy.

  • BPC 7.5 NW Master Data Text Node Load with Hierarchy Intervals - Duplicate

    Hi,
Does anyone have ideas on how to get past this error (besides a BADI)?
I am loading master data text nodes from a BW hierarchy (say 0COSTCENTER) that has intervals defined for cost center nodes.  The problem is that the text nodes fail since there are duplicate values in the hierarchy table.
Master data (dealt by table level) has errors
    Detected duplicate member ID 'F100'
    Detected duplicate member ID 'F100'
    Detected duplicate member ID '1000'
    Detected duplicate member ID '1000'
    etc...
    Thanks!

    Hi Virginie,
You should be able to see an example in many threads; look for an example to Restriction of bw infoobect(not mapped to dim)
You can also make a restriction under the InfoObject name when you run the DM package.
    Hope this helps,

  • Function Module to get the node name in particular level name in Hierarchy

    Hi All,
We have 0Material hierarchy which consists of 14 levels and materials are in the 14th level.
We have a requirement to update the 4th level node name to all materials.
So we have created the attribute to this 0Material and thought of updating in the transformation.
Could you please suggest us to which function module i can in this scenario.

    Hi SDN Powered,
For Hierarchy Table - Parent/Child Value Pairs w/o Node Name just do as follows:
    1) In the Source Hierarchy tree, select the Parent and Child field nodes which you want to use to build hierarchy.
    2) Right-click on one of the nodes and choose Create Hierarchy Field from the context menu, or choose Source > Create Hierarchy Field from the main menu.
    3) MDM opens the Create Hierarchy Field dialog box. This dialog box contains 4 feilds, viz Hierarchy Field Name, Parent Field, Child Field, and Node Name Field. In the Hierarchy Field Name, type the name for the new field. In the Parent Field, Child Field. For Parent/Child Value Pairs w/o Node Name , set the Node Name Field to None.
    4) Click OK to close the Create Hierarchy Field dialog box. The MDM Import Manager creates Hierarchy using the values you have provided.
I hope I am able to solve your problem.

  • Where are Hierarchy node names stored in BW?

When I enter hierarchy view of an infoobjects master data, I can see a field called node name. If I want to use that as filter criteria, where do I go to find that? Where is it stored?

Thanks! How do you see the cost element assignments to these nodes? Where is the relationship? How does BW know which cost elements fall under a specific node?

  • Modifying Hierarchy Node name in Query or during download from ECC

We have some hierarchies that we download from ECC into BI and use them in query to display as report for Income statement or Balance Sheet statements. The issue we want to resolve is when we download the hierarchy from ECC into the intermediate download process tags hierarchy name as prefix for the node name. So for example if the hierarchy in ECC is as below
    ABC (name)
      1000 (node name)
      2000 (node name)
When its downloaded in BW it looks as below
    ABC
      ABC1000
      ABC2000
We want to see hierarchy in BW same as ECC. I tried removing the prefix in the query with no success.
Since the table RSTHIERNODE has the prefixed also as node name so that's how it will be displayed.
I thought I will modify the download process (datasource) to remove the prefix but the delivered user exit EXIT_SAPLRSAP_004 get executed prior to select of the data.
Has anyone got any other suggestions?
    Thanks for your time.

    Ravi,
Just checking. Did you create a authorization variable and added it in the query for that characteristic?

  • Persistence two beans in the same table, Duplicate table name in different beans

    Hi,

No. It would be very confusing to do so. Can they not share an
inheritance hierarchy? You can use flat mapping to do so.

  • Duplicate nodes in a JTree

    Hello,
How i can i find duplicate nodes in a JTree. And give out a message that the node already exists.
    Thanks.
    Reg,
    suri

The first you have to defind what is dublicating, because the node in the tree is a node itself (e.g. with label node name and icon) and node can have user object that can contains some defind logics and attributes like ID. And then if you just want to not alow to have node with the same name you will check node label. But if you want avoid adding the node with the same user object you have to implement some comparation mechanism on the node or user object lavel.
    Hope will help.

  • Camparing property with node name in 2 different Version

    Hi Guru,
Please help me to extract a report or build validation for comparing the property value of a node in a heirarchy (say Hierarchy 1) of version (Say version 1) against the differnet property value of a node from another heirarchy (Say Hierarchy 2) in another version (say version 2). For example , I need to validate that the property value for node in Hierarcy 1 of version1 exists in Hierarchy 2 of version2 and is enabled. Property value in Hierarchy 1 is same as Node name in heirarchy 2.
    Thanks

Try using compare exports, might be helpful in your case, in the Style section, check Property Updates and select all the properties you wish to compare ( if you are trying to find differences ),
Remember it will compare all those nodes which are common in both the Source and Target hierarchies, If you wish to find missing nodes in Target -> Check Deletions, to find missing nodes in Source -> Check Additions.

  • Character Restriction in Node Name

    Hi,
Anyone can advise where the character restriction is set for a node name (member name).
I want to add a member into a hierarchy, but I does not allow me to enter the following characters:
(space), + ( ) & %. Everytime I type the character, it just like the keyboard has been locked. No message or
error saying the character is not allowed because of a specific validation.
    Thanks.

    Hi Tanuja,
Thanks for your help. That is correct.
Is there a way to set the restriction into a specific hierarchy, not in system preference?
For example, if the account name is used in HFM, then do not allow + - character in any of the name.
While if the account name is used in Essbase only, allow the use of + - character?

  • Duplicate member names 9.3.1

The planning documentation seems to suggest that duplicate member names can occur in Planning 9.3.1 although I have seen a post ~(Nov 2007) on here that states that this won't be available until 9.5.
    Is this still the case?
If not, is there any documentation showing how this can be achieved from within bpma/planning? It all seems to suggest it is done in Essbase but that leaves me in a chicken and egg situation as I can't deploy it to essbase with duplicates.
    Cheers

Ok guys, back on this issue.
If I wanted to model the following hierarchy in Planning, given the absence of the duplicate members facility, how would you go about it?
    Group - Product
    Cars - Wheel
    Cars - Seat
    Cars - Window
    Vans - Wheel
    Vans - Seat
    etc
where all products are not shared and must be able to accept individual values. This is a simple example so creating another dimension isn't an option.
This is a very real requirement and I'm wondering whether I'm missing something very obvious here. Are we really limited to planning hierarchies where duplicate product names are not used? Am I going about this in the wrong way?
Any guidance on how I should be solving this problem greatly appreciated.

  • Insert Nodes in BW Hierarchy

    Hello,
I want to create ABAP program to insert nodes into a hierarchy.
    I got a class CL_RSSH_HIERMAINTAIN_FRONT with method INSERT_NODES_HIERARCHY .

Can anyone guide me a bit here ?
