I hate sites like this. There's no way to get from one
sublevel to another
without going to the top level.
I suggest you not use fly-out-type menus, but instead, have
subordinate
sectional navigation on each page within a given section. You
can easily do
this with a single template using Library items in an
editable region for
the sectional navigation, or better, using server-side
includes.

Thanks.
TransactNo, but you can hit the "edit" button on the first message in the thread and change the subject to something like "Duplicate post, please igonre". These double and triple posts are not that uncommon around here and most people understand (and have done it themselves). It seems to be due to slow response from the server and people hitting "post" button again and again, thinking it didn't "take" the first time. -

this is a duplicate post. sorry guys, didnt mean to.
When I encountered this in CP 1 or 2, it was because 'export

publish to

Process: DUPLICATE THREAD; PLEASE IGNORE
Hi, I'm having problems with a delete function that allows users to select one or more checkboxes in a form in order to one or more records. I'm using the sample Oracle HR schema. The web page lists all the records in the database, along with a checkbox for each record that should allow users to delete one or more records by clicking the checkboxes and then selecting the form's Delete button.
I created a package and delcared a Table type since I want folks to be able to select more than one checkbox. I added the following to the package specification header:
TYPE delete_records_table IS TABLE OF employees.employee_id%TYPE;
p_checkboxes delete_records_table;
My delete procedure looks like this:
PROCEDURE get_delete_employee (p_checkboxes IN delete_records_table)
AS
BEGIN
FOR i IN 1..p_checkboxes.count
LOOP
DELETE FROM employees
WHERE employee_id = p_checkboxes(i);
END LOOP;
htp.htmlOpen;
htp.headOpen;
htp.title('Update Confirmation Page');
htp.headClose;
htp.bodyOpen;
htp.p('<CENTER>');
htp.p('<h2>You successfully deleted records.</h2>');
htp.bodyClose;
htp.htmlClose;
END get_delete_employee;
END DYN_HR_PAULA_SAMPLE_APP;
Can anyone see why this isn't working? TIA
Edited by: user653046 on Jan 27, 2009 10:19 AMWell, so much for an easy fix. You need to take the old fashioned approach here and verify that you are indeed getting inside the loop with a full array. Add some messages to the loop to output HTML telling you the total count in the array and the current values so you can be sure your array is filled as you think.

I spent a lot of time chasing this down so thought I'd post something since I didn't immediately find the Metalink note mentioned below.
I migrated a 6i form to 11g then tried to compile the module in Forms builder. It closed on me with no error. I couldn't find any log or error file. Compiling the form with frmcmp gave me an error file but it seemed to randomly stop at different points no matter how many triggers I eliminated. In addition to that, compilation of the PL/SQL didn't cause a crash.
I finally stumbled upon a Metalink note that provided the answer: "An Item's Column Name Property Containing a Long DECODE Function Causes the Forms Compiler to Crash [ID 465970.1]." Sure enough, I had a column name with a decode in it. After I removed that, the compilation succeeded. The solution in the note says to reduce the length to less than 140 - that didn't work for me. I had to remove the decode altogether.

Hi,
I've to load data through control_file(.ctl) into oracle table through sqlldr. Oracle 11g, win xp.
as soon as I use - sqlldr dss/dss control=orders.ctl I get error or nothing.
Text file that is generated after loading fails has the following error.
Record 1: Rejected - Error on table ORDERS, column O_ORDERDATE.
ORA-01861: literal does not match format string
I have checked the format of data to be loaded into Orders table is like this : *1996-01-02.*
I checked the format of data in my database by querying sysdate from dual i.e. 10-JAN-10
I thought that changing its format might solve my problem so i tried this:
SQL> alter session set nls_date_format='YYYY-MM-DD';
Session altered.
SQL> select sysdate from dual;
SYSDATE
2010-01-10but still i'm getting the same error. I've to load millions of data. how I can solve this issue.
Please suggest.
Thanks alot.
Best Regads,
Kam

You did not mention the Portal version. Some tips, without knowing Portal info, turn on session caching, connection pooling
. Make sure that you have applied 3.0.9.8.3 and are using wwsbr_stats.
Be great if you could provide more info on "slow login".
Does the public home page show up quickly ?
How about the login page ? Are all logins slow or only for certain users ?
What is the activity on the middle tier and database ? Are you seeing heavy usage on the middle tier (i.e high
CPU or memory usage), or on the database server, or both ?
Did you use the Portal Diagnostic assistant against your Portal installation ? It gives you a good comparison
between an ideal install and yours. This in itself will not solve the problem, but may highlight parameters
that do not have optimal settings.
If you can provide the above info., it will help in resolving the issue.
Hi,
I have the situation of slow login in portal. Could sone let me know what should be done to fix this.
WWA_MODULE_LOV_BINDINGS_IDX1 and WWA_MODULE_BINDINGS_IDX1 are present.
Please help me as this is a major performance issue for us.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Chandra.

Duplicate got posted - Please delete
Edited by: 833360 on 08-Feb-2011 00:59It isn't easy. How do you precisely identify a "duplicate post" ? Suppose two thread have exactly the same words for the title and body (and are posted by the same person), which of the two should be deleted ? They may contain different responses, different numbers of responses.
You are asking for a human being to verify every thread and compare it with previous and current threads and make a judgement call.
