Duplicate recurring birthdays on calendar

All the birthdays I have entered in the birthday field of the contact are duplicated. No other appointments are duplicated. How do I stop that from happening when I sync?

Just up to now, I had the same problem. I was looking in this forum, but actually, I found the solution that works for me via Google in a German Mac related forum.
Leaving out the trial and errors of my testing, I am describing below what I did:
1. iPhone settings/MobileMe/: deactivate calendar =< delete from iPhone (lesson learned: otherwise you get double entries)
2. synch iPhone with iTunes (makes sure that the setting in "Info" is that the calendar is not activated.
By now you may have an empty calendar on your iPhone. If not, this should merge at a later stage.
3. MobileMe Settings in Calendar: uncheck "display Birthdays"
4. Got to iCal on your Mac: Right-click on your birthday calendar and publish your (birthday) calendar. You need to make sure that you check the up-dates in the settings menu, you may also publish any alerts.
5. once the birthday calendar is published, you get another menu that gives you the option to send an email Send yourself an email to your MobileMe mail address
6. Back to the iPhone and activate in the MobileMe account the calendar again. The iPhone will offer you 2 options, go for "merge with iPhone"
7. finally, go to _Mail on the iPhone_ and go to the mail you sent yourself. This mail contains 2 links, of which you click on the second, which allows you to subscribe to this calendar. What this does is
a) it sets up an intelligent account (you'll find it like the other mail-accounts) in your settings, which does get up-dated
b) it creates an calendar, which is your birthday calendar (populated and up-dated from your iCal on your Mac-Addressbook)
8. Go back to your calendar on the iPhone, make sure that it displays "all calendars" and you can test it.

If you first select the calendar on the left, so that its background is highlighted blue/grey, when you make a new events they should be added to that calendar.

How to hide birthdays in Calendar except important ones ?

Is it possible to hide most birthdays in Calendar, except a few, i.e., those of the VIP's, for instance, the spouse? ;-)
I don't want to delete all the birthdays from AdressBook, but I'd like to see in Calendar only those that are really important.
And, if possible, I'd like to get a reminder only for those.

No, I meant disable the built-in Birthdays calendar and create your own. There is a preference to display the Birthdays calendar. Turn it off, create a new calendar, and add all the Birthdays you want to know about.

You have some contacts with more than one birthday?
To add a custom label for a date, select Edit for an existing contact. Select Add Field. Select Date. Scroll up with the Info window above the date selection and select Other for the new date selection. Select Add Custom Label and then select this label for the new date field for the contact.
As far as linking dates with multiple contacts, the answer is no to that.

Duplicate events in my calendar

I have duplicate events in my Calendar on my iPhone 6. These do not show up in my MacBook Air, on my iMac, or in iCloud.com. The duplicates only appear on my iPhone calendars.
I have gone into iPhone settings and turned off Calendars under the iCloud section, and selected the option to Delete events on my device. That fixes the problem temporarily, and the next day all the duplicates are back again.
Help!

Not sure if you have tried this.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > iCloud turn off Calendars, and choose, delete from my iPhone. Then turn Calendars on. This should get rid of the duplicates.

It is probably related to your calendar syncing with certain services and/or apps that end up duplicating the entries. Investigate your sync settings like iCloud, facebook, etc or apps like Cobook which can sync your contacts/to facebook and gmail contacts. The birthdays for all of those would then show up in ical. If there is some kind of redundancy happening it might even resync the same info from the same place multiple times. If you can zero in on a particular service or app that might be the cause, try temporarily unsyncing it to ical/address book and see what happens.

Deleting recurring birthdate in Calendar

I have set up a recurring birthdate in Calendar from my iPad & it is the wrong day. I can find nothing in the user manual about how to delete the date & when I view the details, there is no "delete" option. Help please!

If your iPad or iPhone calendar is linked to Google Calendar, go your Google Calendar and delete it there. The change will be reflected on your device. It appears you cannot delete a recurring appointment in GC from the iPad or iPhone but you can from GC.

Unsyncing Facebook birthdays and calendar

I must be an idiot because I cannot figure out how to do it. I have googled it and any direction I don't have the same options. Can someone help me out?

Open the calendar, then hit the menu key. Select More, and then Calendars. Uncheck Facebook.

Problem with editing recurring events on calendar

Ever since the 2.2 update I cannot edit any recurring appointments in calendar. As an example if I need to cancel or change the time of just this weeks scheduled appointment I am only given the option to delete all the future appointments or change the time for all future appointments. I cannot edit or cancel just the current weeks appointment. Called HTC and got the usual "We're working on it."

It might be something that can be only edited while logged into the Google calender on a PC via the web. I know that there are limitations for the type of reoccuring options on the phone. There are more options within the PC version.

Duplicate Facebook Birthday Entries In Calendar After Using Device Swap in BB Link

Hello,
I recently swapped a Verizon Z10 for a T-Mobile Z10. After using the BlackBerry Link software to perform the device swap I have 2 entries for each facebook birthday in my calendar. I tried deleting one copy, but the only option in the overflow menu is to share the birthday.
Has anyone else had this issue; and have you resolved it?

As a test can I have you remove your Facebook account from the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone, once it is removed can you still view the Birthday reminders/events?

Duplicate Birthdays in Calendar

I have an issue of when the Birthday Calendar is activated, birthdays are showing up multiple times. The only account I use for my calendar is my work Exchange Account. When I deactive that account, they go away. However, doesn't seem to be a problem in Outlook on my office computer, and my contacts are fine. Not sure why Apple is multiplying the birthdays. So it seems the problem stems from how Calendar is pulling in Birthdays from my Exchange contacts.
I even removed my Exchange account completely from my Mac and readded it hoping it would redownload everything and fix the problem. It still did it.
Thoughts?

I just had the same problem - my calendar was showing multiple birthdays from my contacts. It happened after migrating from my laptop to my new desktop iMac. Everything was fine on the laptop but not on the desktop. I backed up my contacts on the new iMac following some advice in a different discussion on this site and then I deleted (yes, deleted) all my contacts, both from 'on my mac' and from icloud. Luckily, when I re-imported the contacts, they were copied into contacts on my mac and from there I dragged each group into icloud. I then rebooted and it worked. No more birthday duplications!

I did the SEO audit for my website: www.privilegefloor.com & www.lotuslancresort.com and get some SEO errors to fix. There are two problems that I cannot fix are:
- Duplicate Title of Category page : The title of any category is automatically take from the overall title of blog
- Duplicate Title of Calenar page : The title of any calendar page is automatically take from the overall title of blog
How to solve this issue? Because the more category and posting date are the more SEO issues for my sites

I´ve got the same problem. Nearly 500 birthday calenders, each with 800 entries, make my ical unuseable. I sync with mobile me, iphone 4, mac mini server, mac mini and macbook pro. The sync between the iphone and me.com is ok. mobile me seems to be okay too.

HT5373 duplicate entries in iCloud calendar

I see multiple entries of the same event on my iCloud calendar. All my devices ( Macbook and iPhone) shows this. I tried deleting some of the calendars but no use. How do I delete those duplicate entries?

I have had similar duplication problems. All sorted by de-synching. BUT! My wife's birthday now appears on two different dates, following earlier experiments. I delete her card in Address Book, and both related iCal birthday entries disappear. When I add a new Address record for her, whatever I put under Birthday, the old error date shows in iCal.
Running 10.5.2 and iCal 3.0.2, I have to admit I cannot find the Calendars folder in ∼Library/Application Support. Possibly this would cure the problem.
