i have a page that has a soft repeat region on it that gives
the following
link
/mypage.asp?wee=191&tfm_order=ASC&tfm_orderby=dcountry_usr
My question is. In google
Dashboard > Diagnostics > Content analysis

What is your title at the moment? It sounds like you need to
test for
each parameter and display a unique title for all
possibilities.
So, if tfm_order does equal ASC, dynamically place "in
ascending order"
in your title, and the same for the order by parameter from
the
querystring.

  • Duplicate Title Tags - but one product in multiple categories?

    Hi there and Happy Friday!
    I'm an SEO newbie so please forgive my ignorance on all this.. but I'm confused
    I installed Google Webmaster Tools and it says I have lots of "Duplicate title tags"
    "Your title provides users and search engines with useful information about your site. Text contained in title tags can appear in search results pages, and relevant, descriptive text is more likely to be clicked on. We recommend reviewing the list and updating the title tags wherever possible."
    But - these Duplicates are coming from products being in multiple categories.
    E.g Vanilla Diffuser oil is in This catalogue and This one and This one too - so our customers can find it easily on our website.
    As we do fragrances we have the catalogue for the product (Diffuser oils - where all the oils show)
    + the catalogue for the fragrance name (Vanilla and Coconut - where all products in Vanilla Coconut fragrance show)
    + a catalogue that shows all products so customers (and us) can easily see everything on one page to order.
    Am I supposed to ONLY put products in ONE category then do something different to make them show on different pages? Sorry for my ignorance on SEO - I'm finding it such a mindfield...
    Also if anyone has the name of a fabulous BC SEO expert they'd recommend that has helped their site i'd love to know.

    Hi Dandy
    Webmaster Tools only shows you areas that may be a concern and just because it shows something it doesn't mean your ranking etc will be affected. However, if you are really concerned you should look at canonicals. You can read more about it here http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=139394. Basically you are telling the search engines whichj is the main version of that product so simply show the product url in the main catalogue.

  • Duplicate TITLE tag?

    I use iWeb together with the RAGE SEO tool. They create meta tags in lower case. For some reason, meta tags (TITLE, DESCRIPTION, and KEYWORDS) are added to my HTML code after the site gets served up. So, I have no way to go to the FTP site and remove them. They cause duplicate title errors in Google. I wonder where they come from???

    Yes, I believe I wasn't quite clear in my question. The mystery here is that there are meta tags added to my site without my involvement. Have no idea where they come from.
    The code below came from my site (http://www.ethnicyum.com/). I never create tags with capital letters nor do the tools that I use create them. But somehow they are still added - not to my file on the FTP server, otherwise it would be easy for me to remove them and I wouldn't have to ask this question
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Ethnic Yum</TITLE>
    <META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="Reviews of authentic ethnic restaurants">
    <META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="restaurant, authentic, review, ethnic">
    <title>Welcome to Ethnic Yum - Review or View Authentic Ethnic Restaurants</title>

    Can edit text put cannot duplicate regions?
    Can anyone advise? Not good if the client worjs on Mac.

    Marquees the HTML tag? It's the most hated HTML tag out there, most browsers removed it because it was such a pain to see in 1996 scrolling images and scrolling everything

  • Cannot create title tag, meta tags for iWeb site, per Google requirements.

    I created simple website in iWeb to meet art show deadline
    www.barbaraturnertigrett.com
    but when I tried to submit to search engines (via GoDaddy "Traffic Blazer" product), several issues or errors noted...no title tag, meta tags, keywords, too little text, etc. Was told by Apple, there is no fix at this time...no way to access to actual HTML code, to add title tag or meta tags, etc...since iWeb is merely a consumer, not professional enterprise, product. Researching further, I even tried to submit to Google directly, not via GoDaddy "Traffic Blazer", but could not "verify" my url site (because meta tag missing and/or could not upload entire html file, as required. I'd produced client websites in past on Adobe GoLive and was learning Dreamweaver, when someone alerted me to simplicity of iWeb. It is clean and simple, but wish I'd anticipated these other issues. Is there a solution to this with iWeb or should I finish learning Dreamweaver and start over? Thanks for any advice you can share.

    Both these last postings were helpful. THANKS. I could not open home.html file with "text edit", but when using Taco HTML Edit, it would open...so I dusted off (novice) HTML skills and entered the appropriate title tag and meta tag, per Google's requirements. Then, went to my GoDaddy hosting control center and (I think) I uploaded new file with new tags. Seems to be major lag time with any changes, so not sure my site is now successfully "verified", on Google. Hope I did not mess anything up, in the process. There seems to be various lag times before any changes take effect (right??).
    So now...I'm very glad to find out about iMap and will buy it and watch the tutorial video, as instructed...since I am unsure if last 'fix'...fixed the problem, etc...and always eager to learn more. This is my first Apple discussion post, and certainly impressed/grateful for expert help. THX again.

  • Repeating Regions and Editable Tag Attributes?

    I want to produce a template that will let users create pages
    that list items as a thumbnail image and a short text description,
    one after the other.
    I can set this up as a repeating region, but I would also
    like to make only certain attributes of the image editable (src and
    alt for example). However, when I use editable tag attributes to do
    this, the image in each repeated region ends up with the same
    attribute values - when I add a new repeat region and then change
    the src tag through the Template Properties dialog,
    all of the images take on the same src value. Looking at the
    code, it looks like the editable instances in each repeated region
    get the same name, and so I can see that DW will get confused.
    Is this a limitation in DW? Is there a work around anyone can
    suggest?
    TIA

    So, you have some number of people who are editing the child
    pages and you
    want to constrain their editing choices? Are you using
    Contribute?
    Anyhow, I am not aware of any convenient way you can do
    something like this
    using DW's Template features.

  • Tabbed panels repeat region in cms displays 2nd item as a block of content

    Hi everyone, hope someone can help:
    I have a test page live
    http://aegmotorhomes.co.uk/usedtest1.php
    Problem is this-
    I have added a repeat region on my dreamweaver template
    I use Perch CMS as my management for staff to add new items for sale on this page
    I have built a tabbed panels to list the item
    On my CMS it allows me to press "add another" which then adds the tabbed panels again as a new item and the staff input the details
    My problem is the first item works perfect and all tabbs work fine, each item after that doesn't have tabbs and shows all content as one whole block
    I think it is to do with the ID and applies the java file only to item one, thats my guess.
    I have attached code below for my tabbed panels template, .js file and .css file - can anyone shed any light on this issue"

    Can anybody HELP PLEASE PLEASE

    I think I counted three tabbed panels in the markup, each with an ID of TabbedPanels1
    You have only one constructor that makes one instance of the tabeed panels with an ID of TabbedPanels1
    There are a couple of things that create the problem.
    There can only be one ID with the same name in a document, thus the ID's of the TabbedPanels will need to change from TabbedPanels1 for the second and third instances to TabbedPanels2 and TabbedPanels3 (or similar) respectively.
    There needs to be a constructor for each tabbed panels like
    var TabbedPanels1 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels1");
    var TabbedPanels2 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels2");
    var TabbedPanels3 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels3");

  • Title Tags not working with iWeb SEO Tool

    I created my website using iWeb and realizing iWeb is very controlling over title tags and such, I downloaded the iWeb SEO Tool.  I have recorded my title tags and codes but when I search my site on google, Home is still recorded as the title tag.  I even went so far as to add an HTML Snippet to change the title tag using java script but still no luck.  Please help!

    The main question is :
         Does the title you added show in the browser title bar?
    If it does then SEO tools did its job.
    But don't expect Google to stand waiting next to you and updates its database after you pressed the ok button.
    Check again in a few weeks/months.
    And do not waste your time with that silly application or using a JavaScript in the HTML Snippet for the intended purpose. Google does not execute the JavaScript.
    Just read this very carefully :
    iWeb uses the textbox in the Header layer of an iWeb page as the title in the browserwindow.
    Do not remove the original textbox, as you cannot replace it other than by selecting another theme and then change it back to the original theme again. Ruining the layout in the process.
    If the textbox in the Header is missing, iWeb uses a textbox down the page in the Content layer. If that textbox is also missing, it uses another textbox. If that fails it uses the pagename in the Sidebar.
    Sometimes you may want a different text in the titlebar and not display it on the page itself. Or not display it at all.
    So use that textbox in the Header layer. Type your text. Then select the textbox. In the Inspector choose T, click a color to open the color palette and drag the opacity slider to 0 (zero).
    Do Command-T to open the font palette and make the font smaller. (Or do Command--(minus)) Also use a font that doesn't change to an image. Arial is a good font. Perhaps do it first before making the text invisble.
    Resize the textbox. You may want to change the height of the Header layer.
    Do Command-Shift-B to move the textbox to the back, possibly behind other objects.
    Next add a optional second textbox to the Header layer and use that one to display text on the page.
    If you want to move the textbox to the front again to make changes, but can't remember the location on the page, drag the area with the mouse to select the objects.
    Deselect objects you do not want to move forward by Command-dragging the mouse over these objects.
    Next do Command-Shift-F to move the textbox to the front. Repeat the steps in reverse order to make the text visible.
    Practice.
    Then concentrate on creating interesting webpages.

  • Make a editable repeating region

    Having one heck of a time with this. Let me break it down.
    I have a nav bar. On this nav bar, when you click on a link. It will  show the link(really a box) green. This calls for my  code...class="active" on the page that your now on.
    The only problem with that. Is that its hell to make this a DW template.
    I have my nav bar as a repeating region. So that in the future I may  change a link or redesign a button. But, this make my nav bar not  editable on new pages. I have to be able to edit the <a> tags. I  have to change them from...<a href="whatever"> to <a  href="whatever" class="active">
    Here is my code so far. I have make the <a> tags editable, but  when i change the titles of the link from the master template, they will  not update
    <div class="main-box">
    <div class="left-top-corner">
    <div class="inner"><!-- TemplateBeginRepeat name="MenuRepeat" -->
    <nav>
    <ul>
    <li class="first"><!-- TemplateBeginEditable  name="Editlink1" --><a href="../index.html"  class="active"><span><span>Reviews</span></span></a><!--  TemplateEndEditable --></li>
    <li><!-- TemplateBeginEditable  name="Editlink2" --><a  href="../guides.html"><span><span>Guides</span></span></a><!--  TemplateEndEditable --></li>
    <li><!-- TemplateBeginEditable  name="Editlink3" --><a  href="../New_Updates.html"><span><span>News &amp;  Updates</span></span></a><!-- TemplateEndEditable  --></li>
    <li><!-- TemplateBeginEditable  name="EditLink4" --><a  href="#"><span><span>Downloads</span></span></a><!--  TemplateEndEditable --></li>
    <li><!-- TemplateBeginEditable  name="Editlink5" --><a  href="#"><span><span>Store</span></span></a><!--  TemplateEndEditable --></li>
    <li><!-- TemplateBeginEditable  name="Editlink6" --><a  href="#"><span><span>Forums</span></span></a><!--  TemplateEndEditable --></li>
    <li class="last"><!-- TemplateBeginEditable  name="Editlink7" --><a  href="#"><span><span>Soapbox</span></span></a><!--  TemplateEndEditable --></li>
    </ul>
    </nav>
    <!-- TemplateEndRepeat -->

    I have a nav bar. On this nav bar, when you click on a link. It will  show the link(really a box) green. This calls for my  code...class="active" on the page that your now on.
    This is a wrong approach to the problem, and one that results in the contortions that you are now going to trying to make it work!
    Consider this alternative VERY simple approach, and one that is consistent with the notion that navigation elements should never be editable in a template environment -
    <ul>
    <li class="first"><a href="../index.html"  id="button1">Reviews</a></li>
    <li><a  href="../guides.html" id="button2">Guides</a></li>
    <li><a  href="../New_Updates.html" id="button3">News &amp;  Updates</a></li>
    </ul>
    Note that each menu link has been given a unique ID attribute.  Now - in the editable region in the head of each child page, you have an embedded stylesheet -
    <style type="text/css">
    a#button1 { whatever style you want; }
    </style>
    This is in an editable region so it can be edited on each page, where you would just change the button # to correspond to that page.  Simple, effective, and easy.
    By the way, there is no such tag as <nav>, so your code won't validate!

  • Problem updating rows of recordset with repeat region

    Hi,
    So here's what I'm trying to do - I have a repeat region displaying a series of rows from a recordset. Each row has an "id" value and a "Votes" value. The id value is just an identifier, and the Votes value is the total number of votes. The rows are then organized by the Votes column in descending order (so that the row with the "most Votes" is displayed at the top). The whole thing is set up in kind of a table, so each row has a "Vote" button. When a user clicks the button it is supposed to increase that row's Votes by 1 - in effect creatign a Digg-style system.
    I'm having two problems-
    1. How can I get id value for the current row when using repeat region? I would assume that I first have to figure out the row, but how would I got about this?
    2. This is probably a much simpler problem, but how do I add to a mysql integer instead of just replacing the number? Is there any add function? Or can I do it the "BASIC way" (x = x + y)?
    Now for my code. What is here right now is a pretty simple "frame" of a website using PHP for the server-side scripting and MySQL for the database. Also, most of the PHP is generated by Dreamweaver, since I'm pretty novice when it comes to PHP.
    Here is my "repeat region" section alone-
    <?php do { ?>
        <table width="780" border="0">
          <tr>
            <td width="195"><?php echo $row_all['Title']; ?></td>
            <td width="195"><?php echo $row_all['Genre']; ?></td>
            <td width="130"><?php echo $row_all['Year']; ?></td>
            <td width="130"><?php echo $row_all['Votes']; ?></td>
            <td width="65"><a href=<?php
              $id1 = $row_all['id'];
    $con = mysql_connect("localhost","root","");
    if (!$con)
      die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error());
    mysql_select_db("dig", $con);
    mysql_query("UPDATE list SET Votes =300 WHERE id = '$id1'");
    mysql_close($con);
    ?> >+1</a></td>
            <td width="65">-1</td>
          </tr>
        </table>
        <?php } while ($row_all = mysql_fetch_assoc($all)); ?>
    And, for the sake of completition, here is the entire file-
    BANNER
    MENU
    CONTENT
      LIST
    +1
    -1
    Just let me know if you need any more info, and thanks in advance!

    Hi David,
    I read your reply and thankyou, but I am not sure I fully

  • Help-help-help! IE7 footer & repeatable region container height

    Hi everyone, I am new here so sorry if I am repeating a topic discussed already.
    I have 2 problems from my template:
    1. My website looks fine in Safari, FF but IE7 footer floats upto a div halfway up the page then the content is behind it and continues to the bottom of the screen, am I missing a vital trick here (is it best to have a main container for all content and a footer container outside this main content?)
    2. If I put a div container around the 2 repeatable regions which are called ("main_content" and "sidebar") when I click the + on the editable region in the html page the outer container doesn't auto fit the height, how can I make outer container auto fit to how many repeatable regions I have clicked.
    Template source code is below and test web page with 5 repeatable regions is http://aegmotorhomes.co.uk/test.html
    I will take this time now to say thank you and to apologise for this dribble I may have wrote.

  • How to create a repeating region like the attachements in Gmail

    I don't even know how to begin Googling or searching here for
    this topic. But I've got a form and I want to have two fields show
    up for inputting the fabric type and then the pattern name. This
    site will allow them to request fabric swatches to see in person
    how they look and make a decision for their furniture. And if
    customers want to ask for more than one sample, I want to be able
    to have a link that says, "Request another" and when clicked, it
    creates another instance of those two fields automagically, just
    how the attachments in Gmail work.
    Is this something possible with Spry? I'd like to think it
    is, but it might need some jury rigging to ensure that the ids for
    those text inputs are all unique and such. But like I said, I don't
    even know how to begin searching for this topic since "repeating
    area" or "repeating region" brings back 1000s of unrelating
    results.
    Anyone have any experience doing something like this and
    could shed some light on it and/or point me toward some resources
    that could help out?
    Thanks!

    Hi unnamed,
    Suppose you have an id that identifies your record.
    Go to Report definiton, tab report attirbutes.
    Select the id of your record.
    Create a link to the page you want to go to.
    Hope this helps.
    If not, I suggest you to create a from with report, and analyze the way the wizard has generated it.

    Hi,
    Dont have much time to go through your code, but apparently i can see the error is becoz of the following reason.
    In the following code, you have used "outcomeRecordset_data ", but its not declared. You need to declare the variable first before you can use it.
    <% while ((outcomeRecordset_hasData)&&(Repeat2__numRows-- != 0)) {%>
                      <tr>
                        <td><%=(((outcomeRecordset_data = outcomeRecordset.getObject("Outcome_Number"))==null || outcomeRecordset.wasNull())?"":outcomeRecordsetRecordset_data)%></td>
                        <td><%=(((outcomeRecordset_data = outcomeRecordset.getObject("Outcome_Text"))==null || outcomeRecordset.wasNull())?"":outcomeRecordsetRecordset_data)%></td>
                        <td><%=(((outcomeRecordset_data = outcomeRecordset.getObject("Score"))==null || outcomeRecordset.wasNull())?"":outcomeRecordsetRecordset_data)%></td>
                        <td><%=(((outcomeRecordset_data = outcomeRecordset.getObject("Feedback"))==null || outcomeRecordset.wasNull())?"":outcomeRecordsetRecordset_data)%></td>
                        <td><%=(((outcomeRecordset_data = outcomeRecordset.getObject("Question_ID"))==null || outcomeRecordset.wasNull())?"":outcomeRecordsetRecordset_data)%></td>
                      </tr>
                      <%
      Repeat2__index++;
      outcomeRecordset_hasData = outcomeRecordset.next();
    %>Try declaring the "outcomeRecordset_data " on top as an object
    Hope it helps

  • Limiting Number of Rows in spry:repeat Region

    With the code...
    <tr spry:repeat="dsTitles">
    <td width="60%">{title}</td>
    <td width="14%">{author}</td>
    <td width="9%">{date}</td>
    </tr>
    ... How do I limit the number of rows that will be displayed
    in this repeat region
    to just 5, instead of displaying all 25 rows stored in the
    XMLDataSet (dsTitles)?
    Thanks!
    Oscar

    Hey Oscar,
    Glad that works for you.
    Kin and I were thinking that {ds_RowNumber} might be better
    for that particular looping, but you get the idea.
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/articles/data_set_overview/index.html
    That was our first overview doc and it was definitive at the
    time. We no longer update it but it's a good intro to Spry.
    You can find the built in data references in that doc,
    granted almost at the very bottom.
    The API doc
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/articles/data_api/index.html
    is a good start but we still have a lot to add to it. I have
    plans for it for sure.
    We are doing a big push for 1.6 towards progressive
    enhancement, unobtrusive js and things like that.
    Expect docs and samples and some cool utilities to come out
    this summer and for 1.6.
    And we won't charge for it, but we also won't return any
    cash-laden envelopes... ;)
    Let us know how to improve any part of Spry.
    Thanks,
    Don

  • Creating links in repeat regions

    How do I link a downloadable word document in a repeat region displaying information from a database. The word document would be different for each record. Thanks.
    I posted this question 9 hours ago and have not received a reply. I am not sure that you understant my question and so I will try to make it clearer.
    1. I created a database and stored the name of the word document in the cv_name field.
    2. I created a repeat region that displays the name of the word documents in the recordset
    3 All I need to do is to link the name of the word document to the word file in dreamweaver
    4 I highlight the name field, open the property inspector, click the folder icon, set the link to use Data Sources, and select the recordset column that holds the word document name.
    5 However when I click on the file name that is displayed on the website I get an error.
    Thanks for any assistance
