Duplicated items in menu

Hello
The main menu (i.e. beneath the Apple in the top right corner of the screen) is showing duplicated items e.g. Restart appears twice, as does Log Off, Shut Down etc.
They all appear twice.
Any ideas.
Thanks!

  • Songs/artists duplicating on ipod menu

    weird! I've had ipods for years--I've even reset this one back to scratch and reloaded it. I've gone to Advanced to make sure the song info isn't separated due to album/artist or other items. In the ipod itself, artists and/or songs have been duplicated in the menu-- however the total number of songs on the ipod vs my itunes is correct. I guess it's not really a true problem, but it's rather annoying to scroll down the menu and see 4 entries of Stevie Ray Vaughn with all the same songs. Anybody else have this problem? I have a new 4th generation that I haven't synced yet. I hope I don't have the same problem with it....

    So if I understand you correctly, you want to be able to sync only certain songs, artists, and albums correct? If so you can configure this set up from under the iPod's Music configuration tab in iTunes as described in the Syncing Automatically section in the Apple support document you linked in at the top of the page.  Note that you cannot select only certain songs, but you can set it up to sync selected Artists, Genres, and Albums.
    If the tab and its configurations are grayed out, it is likely because your iPod is set up for manual management, meaning the manually manage music and videos option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab.

    Firefox 4 Menu Bar - When I hover over or select a menu bar item, the menu bar sub-menu becomes transparent and unreadable. Is this a known issue that can be corrected with an update or is it functionality that is not designed to work with this version?

    If this happens on monitor 2 of 2, this problem has been solved here:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/794823#answer-157988
    Go to "Firefox"--> "Options" --> "Advanced"
    Then un-check "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    While not verified, I believe this problem is due to an SLI configuration where the focus is on monitor 1. (I.e acceleration is available, but only on monitor 1.)

  • Reset printer settings....still no print....plus added items to menu bar...they're gone

    reset printer settings....still no print....plus added items to menu bar...they're gone from bar & customize window...title bar changed

    Firefox doesn't print some pages well, but if you have this problem on all pages, there may be some problem with Firefox's ability to work with your printer driver. If it's only particular pages, can you post the URLs for an assessment?
    I'm not clear on what happened with Cut, Copy & Paste: you moved them from the menu drop-down to the toolbar and then they disappeared?
    If you return to Customize mode, try clicking Restore Defaults and see whether things return to normal.
    When you say "toolbar background" do you mean a theme you were using in an earlier version of Firefox? Otherwise, there's not much to see.
    If Firefox is becoming transparent or showing some desktop or showing other display glitches it may be incompatible with your graphics card drivers. The standard workaround for that is to disable Firefox's use of hardware acceleration for graphics.
    3-bar menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
    On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    This will take effect the next time you exit out of Firefox and restart it.

  • Web item rolle menu not usable in 2004s?

    Hi all,
    the old web item roll menu isn't usable in the 2004s.
    How can I make the web report roll-based without portal?
    thank you in advance

    You can use the web analyzer dialog to access roles. Otherwise, you have to use Portal Roles.

  • Don't understand 'Delete unused media from duplicated items'

    Can anyone help with this?
    I have a large project spanned across 2 drives and want to tidy it all up to a third drive. Using Media Manager (with no specific sequences selected) it says the project size is 350Gb. If I check the 'Delete unused media from duplicated items' box it reduces to 267GB.
    Given that I'm not selecting a particular sequence edit I assume it is aimaing to manage all files. So what is the variation of 84GB. If I opt for the 267GB, what is in the 84GB that I'm about to loose. I haven't duplicated anything so unsure what I'll be losing?

    You won't lose anything if you copy the project with Media Manager. Test the copy afterwards to make sure it is exactly what it should be. Once you are happy with it, the original can be deleted.
    You can make the copy even smaller if you exclude render files. It will have to be re-rendered only if you have to revisit the project at some point. Use the space saved for something else until it is really needed.

  • How do I delete items from menu bar  that are not part of the OS

    How do I delete items from menu bar  that are not part of the OS

    Perhaps you could be more specific, as it is a little difficult to answer your question without any details.  I can give you some general ideas though.
    On my machine there are a few applications that have installed items into the menu bar - I'm assuming you are talking about the icons on the right hand side of the top bar. To remove those items, I would generally need to uninstall the program that created them. To do this varies a little from application to application.
    Also, sometimes an application will have preferences that allow you choose if you want to display the item in the menu bar.
    So, my general advice would be that you need to identify the application that placed the item there, and remove it from your computer.  If there is an uninstall program for that application, I would run that in the first instance.
    If you don't actually wish to uninstall the application, you may need to click on the item or run the application and see if there is a setting to not show the menu bar item.
    Hope that helps.

  • Duplicated items, Unlinking files, and Importing an updated project

    My brother and I are co-editing a project in Premiere Pro CC because it is so large. However, we've been finding difficulties when importing each others edits. We have it set up so that we work on different sequences of the project at a time. When I import a sequence, it also imports all of the files used in the sequence. The problem is that this creates duplicates in my project since we're using the same files. It seems like there isn't an easy way to re-link the source material from the imported sequence to the existing files already located in my project. Whenever I try to delete a duplicated item, it removes it from the updated sequence. I have to manually click on each file, make offline, then somehow relink it to the file I want it to be linked to. This is a big hassle for us and I'm hoping that there is some simple, massive relinking option that gets rid of these duplicates.

    When I import a sequence, it also imports all of the files used in the sequence.
    That happens only when you import the entire project.  When you import just a sequence, it will bring in only the media not already in the project.

  • Duplicated Itemized Expenses in iExpenses

    We have noticed that when employees submit an expense report that contain itemized expenses, the itemized expense amounts are duplicated. The reimbursable amount shows the correct amount, however, the total expenses includes the duplicated item(s). For example:
    ITEM EXP TYPE AMOUNT JUSTIFICATION
    Item# 3 Hotel $200
    Item# 3-1 Hotel $50 Parking
    Item# 3-2 Hotel $150 Hotel
    Expense report amount- $200
    Original eligible amount- $400
    As in this example, the total expenses would show as $400, however, the actual reimburseable expenses would show as $200. This has caused some issues because expense reports are routed for approval via the over-stated amount.
    Does anyone know if this is a bug?
    As an FYI, I made a correction to Item# 3-1 to correct the expense type from Hotel to Parking and it adjusted the amounts so that the expense report shows for the correct amounts. Thus, it corrected the approval workflow as well. I was thinking that if an employee itemizes an expense but does not change at least one of the expense types, that it duplicates the charges for some reason. Sound like a valid error explanation?
    Thanks,
    Erik

    Both pay is with Credit Transactions. If the transaction is of both pay type the invoice to be paid to the card issuer is split out of the original Expense Report, a new report is created and invoiced. If you are using R12 a Payment Request is created for the Credit Card Issuer.
    Please browser through the implementation guide for details.

    Very many thanks to you, Putaro!  Your answer provided the solution. It was a buggy plug-in that turned out to be the culprit.
    You're off the hook, Apple, and my apologies for stating that you let a dog run loose. You skated by this time, Apple. But I'm watching you.
    But again, Putaro's reference to the plugins I had installed over the years turned out to illuminate the problem. I have several plugins in my iTunes plugins folder, pretty much all designed to add more visualizer functionality. I removed all of them, and ALL of the problems I noted in my post went away, with full iTunes functionality restored.
    I began adding the plugins back to hopefully single out the culprit. Among the ones I had been using included fielder, G-Force, Timestrech, volcanokit, QuartzComposer, and Jax. I hadn't used any of them in a while - probably at least a verison or more back in iTunes updates, but iTunes continued to work with all of them installed. Currently, only QuartzComposer continues to work in iTunes 10.4. The rest no longer even show up as visualizer opitons, with one exception. Jax does show up, but does not work. AND THE PRESENCE OF JAX IS WHAT KILLED MY ITUNES.
    I looked into it and went back to the developer, and it appears that they discontinued developing Jax some time ago - evidently, it was buggy and crash prone. I remember after buying it, having problems with it - having never worked to its touted potential, but I didn't pursue it, and never uninstalled it. Leaving it in there caused all iTunes functionality to cease with the iTunes 10.4 update.
    If you've got Jax installed, consider removing it before updating to iTunes 10.4.
    My iTunes is now working right as rain, thanks again to Putaro!

  • Newbie wants to build 5 item interacting menu bar

    Hi, Firstly, I'm an absolute beginner with Spry, though
    working thru Adobe's 'Dreamweaver CS 3 Classroom in a book'. I'm
    beginning to grasp the basics [at last!], but I want to build a 5
    item vertical menu bar which interacts with an area or cell located
    to the right by changing both a photograph and corresponding text.
    i.e., menu item 1 'Deserts' selects a desert pic and relevant text.
    When mouse hovers and clicks on the next menu item 2 'Forests', the
    main cell or area changes to a forest pic and new forest text. And
    so on with the other three menu items. I also need the page to load
    with menu item 1 showing by default. Is this possible?
    I've worked thru 'Creating interactive pages' [using
    behaviors], as well as Ch9 'Integrating Ajax with Spry', then
    trying to adapt either methods to my specific requirement...without
    much success!
    This is a tough assignment, but if anyone can help, I'm very
    willing to learn from even a snippet of code that would point me in
    the right direction.
    Thanks for reading this far!
    Cheers,
    'Maengel'

  • PanelNavigation2 duplicating items on valuechanged

    Whenever a valuechanged event occurs on a page containing a panelNavigation2 components the items in the navigation menu are duplicated.
    The extra items subsequently disappear when any non-value changed event occurs.
    Mysterious? Help anyone?

    Thanks for the input. I tried unchecking the 'Copy Files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library' box, and that did the opposite of what I wanted: put the file on the original Hard Drive and not on the alternative drive. Why is it insisting on copying all the files into the original location? If I put an alias of the correct iTunes music folder in place of the original, will that help?

  • Can't remove unwanted item from menu bar

    I recently purchased a Western Digital My Book HD to use for backups. The HD included software which I stupidly thought I needed to use it, so I installed it. I quickly realized I didn't need it and uninstalled the software, however it has left an icon in my menu bar which I can't seem to get rid of. Is there a way to make it go away or am I stuck now?

    how did you uninstall that software? did you simply trash the application? that wasn't the proper way to do it since the app used an installer to install. there should be an uninstaller that came with that app. try using that. you might have to reinstall that software first. if that doesn't work then you have to search out what exactly that software installed. there could be login items. check those in system preferences->accounts. or there could be some launch daemons. check homedirectory/Library/Launchagents, /Library/launchagents and /Library/launchdaemons. but definitely try the uninstaller first.

  • How to set different numbers of visible items af:menu

    Hi guys,
    I have a request in setting different number of visible items for adf menu components(af:menu). I see that this option is available from the css skin file using " -tr-visible-items" attribute on af|menu selector:
    af|menu
    -tr-visible-items: 3;
    The main issue is that I have 2 menu components and on menu1 I need 3 items visible and on menu2 4 items. I created a custom styleClass and called from one of the menu, but it doesn't seem to work.
    JSFF snippet:
    <af:menuBar id="mb1">
    <af:menu text="Menu with 3 items" id="m1">
    <af:commandMenuItem text="commandMenuItem 1" id="cmi1"/>
    <af:commandMenuItem text="commandMenuItem 2" id="cmi2"/>
    <af:commandMenuItem text="commandMenuItem 3" id="cmi3"/>
    <af:commandMenuItem text="commandMenuItem 4" id="cmi4"/>
    <af:commandMenuItem text="commandMenuItem 5" id="cmi5"/>
    </af:menu>
    <af:menu text="Menu with 4 items" id="m2" styleClass="myclass">
    <af:commandMenuItem text="commandMenuItem 1" id="cmi6"/>
    <af:commandMenuItem text="commandMenuItem 2" id="cmi7"/>
    <af:commandMenuItem text="commandMenuItem 3" id="cmi8"/>
    <af:commandMenuItem text="commandMenuItem 4" id="cmi9"/>
    <af:commandMenuItem text="commandMenuItem 5" id="cmi10"/>
    </af:menu>
    And this is the CSS snippet:
    af|menu
    -tr-visible-items: 3;
    .myclass
    -tr-visible-items: 4;
    I tried also adding the following to filter components but no luck...
    .myclass af|menu
    -tr-visible-items: 4;
    So always only 3 items are displayed, looks like the cusom styleClass makes no difference.
    Could you let me know if I'm missing something?
    Thanks,
    Mihai

    Hi Frank,
    Thanks for your qucik reply.
    I've done this also and not working...
    So if I add the following code
    .men1 af|menu
    -tr-visible-items: 3;
    and
    .men2 af|menu
    -tr-visible-items: 10;
    and add on both afmenu's styleClass me1 and men2, nothing changes, it keeps the default value of 14... It looks lile only this works
    af|menu
    -tr-visible-items: 3;
    Thanks,
    Mihai

  • Remove Items Services Menu

    I like to experiment with new software. Most I end up deleting but occasionally I end up with some cool stuff. The problem, however, is that some of these add services in the Services Menu and I can't get rid of them.
    I've removed the apps with AppZapper, I've done a search with EasyFind and removed any other traces of these apps. I've even gone in manually and looked through all three libraries (user, system, hard drive) and looked in Application Support, Preferences, Caches, Services (seems obvious but there are only 6 items total in there) and every other folder that might relate to this.
    Nothing of these programs exist anywhere in my system or hard drive, yet their services are still in the Services Menu. If anyone knows how to get these things out I'd really like to know.
    In the mean time web searching came up with this:
    http://www.petermaurer.de/nasi.php?section=servicescrubber
    A nifty little program called Services Scrubber that lets you turn off any services you don't want, really quite handy. So they are no longer in the menu, which is a big improvement, but I want them out of my system too.

    Hi, Kevin.
    Take a look at the System
    Services documentation, particularly the
    section "Items in the Services Menu", to understand
    how the Services Menu functions.
    Thanks, Doc. I've saved it as a web archive to read later since it's 6 am and I haven't even finished my first cup of coffee yet and it's a bit too much to deal with right now.
    I suspect you may have to perform a restart after
    uninstalling an app that adds items to the Services
    menu in order for it to be cleared.
    Already done a restart. Some of these are months old and my Mac has been restarted several times, even had Disk Warrior and other repairs and updates (Repairing Permissions and Rebuilding Launch Services database, deleting caches) more than once as well.
    I just left all those Services sitting there because I didn't have time to deal with it and they didn't seem to be hurting anything. I always assumed I just needed to go into the various services folders and delete them, so when I went to do that yesterday I was quite surprised to not find any of them there. Had a similar problem with Contextual Menus with many of the same programs, but those I did find in the correct folders and removed them and they are gone like they should be.
    I suspect Service Scrubber's author may be scanning
    for the info.plist files of installed applications to
    find potential services, as well as checking any
    "Library/Services" directories extant (Macintosh HD >
    Library > Services, Home > Library > Services,
    Macintosh HD > System > Library > Services, etc.).
    You'd have to discuss this with him or check his
    site.
    The problem with that is I've removed all traces of these apps, even going through and looking for scraps manually after doing a search with EasyFind. They no longer exist so how can Service's Scrubber change anything in them? And I've looked through all the services folders and none of these programs exist there either. Here's what's in the folders:
    User services:
    ChronosNotesService.app
    ChronosNotesService.bundle
    Those are supposed to be there as StickyBrain is one of those apps I kept and want the services.
    System services:
    AppleSpell.service
    ChineseTextConverterService.app
    ImageCaptureService.app
    Spotlight.service
    SummaryService.app
    HD/Library doesn't even have a services folder.
    The lack of services placed in services folders is puzzling. I just installed Yojimbo yesterday and it added a service yet it doesn't show up either. Where are they putting these?
    But, clearly, Service's Scrubber can find these and turn them off.
    AppZapper may also not be doing its job fully. You
    should consult with the author concerning the
    Services issues you are seeing.
    It sounds like I need to contact AppZapper, Service's Scrubber AND the various apps causing the problems. Sigh.
    They aren't causing any problems and aren't even cluttering the Services Menu any more since I used Service's Scrubber, I'm just curious as to what's going on.
