Duplicates After Syndicating

Hi SDNers,
I facing a problem while Syndicating.
I created a Maps for both Importing and Syndicating.
In Import Map based on one field I am Importing data. If multiple fields having same field then those records should merge and only 1 record as to Create.
while importing it is done. I am getting exact like that only.
In free form search on both Data Manager and Syndicator If I search with one field I can see only 1 record. But after syndicating I can see that record 3 times in Output with same values (Duplicates).
But in Data Manager and Syndicator I can still see only one record.
Any Solution or suggestion for this?

Hi Ravi,
This is how normally it works.If you merge three records, their local ids will be maintained for different remote systems.So once you merge, data manager will show you a single virtual record.
But while syndicating, you will be able to see all the three records with their original local ids and remote keys for those particular selected remote system.
To syndicate to a particular single remote system go to map properties-> output remote system->....

No "skip duplicates" after 10.4.3?

I updated to Mac OS X 10.4.3 yesterday, and today, while I'm on vacation, iPhoto 5.0.4 re-imports ALL the pictures on my compact flash card each time I insert it into my card reader. Previously, I would get a dialog asking me if I wanted to import or skip duplicates. This dialog no longer appears. It's happened twice today and it's kind of annoying when you have 700+ pictures on your 1GB card. The card appears to mount and works otherwise. I just don't want to have to keep deleting 700MB of pictures each time I import some more. Has anyone else seen this or knows a work around? I know how to use the Image Capture to select only the pictures I want, but you STILL have to delete them from the destination folder after dragging them into iPhoto if you do that...

I don't think that this has to do with updating to 10.4.3 -- because my daughter's iMac G5 is on 10.4.2 (mainly because she is constantly using it and won't let me near it long enough to update things of late ... so far I need to update her iTunes from 5 to 6, do the 10.4.2 => 10.4.3 update, and update Quicktime -- I manage to sneak in backups at least while she is in the shower) and I noticed that it seems to import duplicates without asking if that is ok or not, so they have to be manually deleted. Meanwhile, on our older iMac 500MHz G3 running iPhoto 4.0.3 asks every time if I want to import duplicates and doesn't import them if I say no ...
Old Toad's scheme of inputing new photos seems to make sense and it gets around the "duplicate import" bug that seems to affect some but not all users of iPhoto.

How do I avoid duplicates after signing back in to my current iCloud account on my iPad?

I had to delete my newer iCloud account and sign in to the App store with my old AppleID to download missing apps on my first generation iPad. I did not delete Contacts or Calendar entries when I deleted the newer account so the data is still on my iPad. After I updated the apps I deleted the old account and signed on again with my newer account. I did not allow any data to merge when I signed in with either account. My question is: if I turn on Contacts and Calendar will the data duplicate? If so how can I avoid that happening? (I hope I explained this clearly enough)

Having just changed my Apple ID to separate myself from my son who was sharing my ID I can tell you how to handle this in IOS7. I went to the Apple web site and established my new ID.
I followed the advice on this support page to change my Apple ID Change your Apple ID - Apple Support
I then followed the advice on this page to update the ID on my device Sign in with a different Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
IMPORTANT!!!! When you delete your iCloud for your old Apple ID off your phone you will lose all your documents that are in the cloud but not your contacts that are out in the cloud. Also, before following the directions on the"Sign in with a Different Account" page to delete the iCloud Apple ID first turn off iCloud sync on each item individually. When you turn off the sync it will ask you if you want to keep the data on your phone. Yes you do want this. After turning off sync individually Delete the iCloud account for the old Apple ID. Then when you then sign into iCloud with your new Apple ID select the Merge option and it will upload all your contacts and data to the iCloud account for your new Apple ID.
If you simply Delete your iCloud account it will delete all your contacts off your phone. If you delete iCloud without first turning sync off Contacts and your contacts are then deleted off your phone, don't worry. Simply log back into iCloud with your old account and your contacts will be restored. Then you can turn off the sync on all items, Delete the old account from iCloud, sign in with the new apple Id, select Merge iPhone data. So it puts your contacts and data from your phone into your new iCloud account.

Bank details not visible in R3 after syndicating from MDM

I have used standard map debmdm06 to syndicate Customer records from MDM(SP5) to R3.The IDoc seems to get posted,but the bank details were not appearing in R3.
Can anybody help me out in this issue.

This could happen due to multiple reasons. Would suggest to check folllowing:
1. Check the xml file that is getting generated after syndication. You can take it from Outbound/Archive folder. Check if the bank details are appearing in the xml file.
2. If yes, that means MDM is syndicating data properly. If no check syndication map.
3. If yes for pt 2, Check in coming Idoc from we02. Does it have the bank details? If not, then if you have used XI, the field mapping would be inncorrect.
I guess, the issue would be in xml getting generated.

Duplicates after import

Hi,
New to iphoto. I did an import from cd of my images, and they all showed up in last import. I created a new folder called flowers, and copied about 500 pics from the 'last import' into my flowers folder.
Now I did a spotlight search to see where the images were stored.
Surprisingly I saw:
/users/Craig/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals/2008/Feb 16,2008/*.jpg
/users/Craig/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Data/2008/Feb 16,2008/*.jpg
It appears (doesn't seem to be symbolic links) that the images are duplicated, no editing done after import on these pics. In the Data directory , all pictures have rw-r--r--@ (note the @ sign afterwards), while in the Originals , some of the images have the @ sign but most of them don't.
I'm unclear why this is happening , what the @ sign means. I know not to modify the iPhoto database, but I certainly don't want duplicates of every photo I put in.
Appreciate any feedback and comments on this.

I use PhotoPresenter for some of my slideshows. It has over 20 animated themes that you can use. Here are just two: Apple TV Intro - Reflection. It integrates with iPhoto so you can make slideshows of albums or events. You can run it in demo mode to see if it fits your needs.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

TS4118 is there an alternative to manually remove ical duplicates after sync with icloud

There is a discussion on this issue:
TS4118: If you see duplicate calendars or events after setting up iCloud Calendar.
However, the suggestion there is, if the duplicates are also in your icloud, to delete the duplicates MANUALLY.
I have been using ical or its predecessor since 1999. Removing all the duplicates between 1999 and 2014 manually is not why I have a computer.
I noticed the problem after having upgraded from 10.7.5 to 10.9.2. Before 10.9, I did the syncing of my mac with iphone and ipad over the cable and itune. this worked fine.
Since after upgrading to 10.9 you have to do it over icloud, this is what I did.
Is there a way around a manual deletion?

Option to import duplicates after import?

When LR says it has not imported files because they already exist in the catalog, it would be nice to have a button that says "import anyway."
On a related note, that window only shows a list of file names, which is not very user friendly. Nor does it show both locations.

Yes, understood. That is a great option most of the time, but sometimes you don't know what the duplicate situation it until after LR has chewed through the import. So it would be nice, gracious even, if LR presented the option when it notifies you of the offending duplicates.

Duplicates after migrating to new imac

I recently bought a new imac. Migrating from my old Power PC G5 to new imac went smoothly apart from itunes.
On my old imac i stored all my music on an external hard drive. I thought that after migrating all I would need to do would be to plug this external hard drive into my new imac and all would be fine. Sadly not - every track had the small exclamation mark on it. Believing this was because it could not find any of the music I went File>Open Library and selected everything in my external drives music folder. Now instead of replacing all those files with exclamation marks next to them I have duplicates of everything - and annoyingly the music files I want to keep, the ones with the ratings and play counts, are the ones with the exclamation marks (ie the ones that cannot be found).
Is there a solution to this or do I have to manually go through my entire library deleting the duplicate and then finding each individual track. I have 95GB of music so that may take a while!
Any help would be wonderful.

Duplicate after importing iTunes from old to new system

Justy upraded to a MacBookPro and moved my iTunes library (media + playlist) from old windows notebook. After importing I have duplicates songs and playlist. I followed the instructions provided on this forum for exporting/importing only the media files and playlist. My library is very large and removing individual songs/playlist would be time comsuming. Anotyher twisty is some songs are he same but with a different artist. Any suggestions. Koyangie

If you are a resident of the U.S. and have iTunes 10.3 or later installed on the new computer, you can re download your iTunes purchases for free without having to import.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Make sure and use the same Apple ID as on the prior computer.
On the new computer, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer before trying re download your purchases.

IPhoto can't see duplicates after time zone change

So went on a trip and was using iPhoto to backup photos I took each day on the trip, but I was also keeping them on the camera so that I'd have two copies. The place I travelled to was in a different time zone, so I had changed the settings on my Mac while I was there. Each time I did the backup, iPhoto recognized which photos were duplicates so that it didn't re-import the same photos. After I returned home and the set the time zone back, iPhoto no longer recognized the duplicates between what was on the camera and what was in iPhoto.
Is this a bug? If this occurs again is there some way I can fix it? After I got back, I had to keep switching the time zone on my Mac every time I did a photo import until I got everything backed up properly. It was quite an annoyance.

The way to prevent it from happening is to not change your Mac's time zone between finishing the download of photos. Take a look at this article from the iPhoto FAQ section of the discussions...

Many duplicates after import from Aperture to Photos

After a very long import process taking my 155Gb Aperture library and going into Photos, I see many many duplicates of photos.

How exactly did you do that?
The usual way is to launch Photos by holding down the alt/options key and double clicking the Photos icon in the Dock.
That will bring up a Library Chooser panel. Select your Aperture library in that panel.
The upgrade of the aperture library may take a long time for a large library.
If that is, how you have done it, you may need to repair your Aperture library before migrating it.
Open the Aperture library again in Aperture, that you just migrated. Are there any duplicates in the original library, for example in ProtoStream auto import projects, or in recovered folders?
Then try to delete these duplicates, while still in Aperture.
To try to repair and rebuild the Aperture library and the permissions of the library before upgrading it to Photos. do the following:
Firmly hold down the key combination ⌥⌘, while double clicking your Aperture Library in the "Pictures" folder to launch into the Aperture Library First Aid Tools. Select "Repair Permissions".

If permissions repair does not fix it, try the other first aid options, but make sure, you have a backup copy of your Aperture Library.

Duplicates after back up from ipod? Help!

I lost my pc and itunes files I managed to back up from my ipod using Copytrans which was well worth $20 for my playlists however my albums display as one album but each song is duplicated within the album.
The music files all have a duplicate with a number 1 after them any quick way of deleting these? thanks in advance

Duplicates after syncing

I'm syncing using Sync between laptop and G5 and I'm seeing duplicates of events. I've searched this forum but none of the posts I've found help me.
I've tried checking/unchecking birthday box and that does not help.
I've looked for /application support/ical cache file but there is not file there even after closing iCal and opening.
Wondering what causes this and what I can do to stop it from happening and how do I get rid of duplicates. I can't just get rid of events on the left menu because when I uncheck 1 FUN for example, the other FUN as different events that FUN 1 doesnt have. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for any help

Sorry to say I don't have an answer, but I'm having the same issue, along with old events that I have edited duplicating (old version and new version). I suspect its a MobileMe issue, since I have had to go in and set the synch direction from computer to MobileMe several times, yet it mysteriously keeps resetting to MobileMe to computer and aggravating the **** out of me.

IPhone iCal duplicates after iOS 8 upgrade

I just recently upgraded my wife's iPhone 5s with iOS 8. The upgrade went great with the exception of the iCal shows duplicates of all events. I checked to make sure the "calendars" were only showing the calendar on iCloud. I also checked the settings/mail to ensure nothing was duplicated. I backed up and restored the iPhone and it didn't solve the problem. Any ideas?

Then try going to Settings>iCloud on your wife's phone, turn Calendars off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then turn Calendars back on. See if that fixes things.

DataGrid Item Renderer loading duplicates after scroll

Great article I ended up getting rid of the creationcomplete
changing my init():void too override public function set data(
value:Object ) : void
and adding
super.data = value;
I was able then to clean up my code considerably.
