Duplicates of calendar events

Trying to iSyn with my Palm has left my calendar littered with duplicates. I give up on syncing. Is there a way to remove the duplicates in my computer's iCal calendar without doing it one item at at time?

Wonderful, thanks John!!
A couple things to point out from my own experience:
-For some reason, double-clicking on John's script opened it using PPC rather than Intel on my Macbook Pro. Dragging it to an already open Intel script editor did the trick.
-The process is slow and processor-intensive. I thought it was broken when I didn't see things happening after 10 minutes of ~95% processor useage. Then I watched the calendar more closely, and sure enough, one by one the duplicates disappared. Not a knock on John's script- I'm sure this is just the way it has to work.
Thanks again for taking the time to share such a handy tool with everyone!

  • Duplicate blackberry calendar events, ACK

I've searched the forum and it appears other people have had sync issues with their blackberry calendars. Mine only syncs via google sync to my google calendar--no outlook, no BES, etc.  And the duplicate entries appear both on my computer screen in google calendar and on my blackberry handset.
I noticed this was happening a little while ago but not every entry duplicated--and also they only would show up two or three times.  However, yesterday and today--a few items duplicated 20 or 30 times and an item/event set to repeat every year on my calendar today--well, it must have duplicated 1k times because you can scroll and scroll and scroll.... and I think if I sat and tried to delete each entry it would take days even when I pull down to delete a handset screen at a time.
From reading, it appears this may be a google sync issue.  So I removed google sync from my handset. Then I erased my google calendar entries (big mistake) and tried to resync my blackberry calendar over to the google calendar by restoring sync but now the the BB calendar will not pull over to google calendar.
Of course I could LIVE without using google calendar although it is REALLY CONVENIENT since I share appt. items (view only)  amongst co-workers and family. And no, I never tried to sync their google calendars to my handset only my own calendar.
But even if I lived without the google calendar, I still have super slow calendar--it's literally like having an old fashioned paper calendar and having to turn 100 pages singly to get to the spot you want.....
I cannot delete my handset calendar as I will probably not show up to a dozen appointments in the next few days because I wouldn't know what they are.  Trying to use my calendar with its lag is not efficient at all.  I
Is there anyway I can just tell the calendar to delete any entries in my calendar from x time to y time on z day? Is there any solution to this besides deleting all or living with it?
Incidentally, Verizon told me the only solution is to delete or reset...and then said to ask RIM as it is there calendar with the problem now.

    Try this:
Go to options > advanced options > service books > highlight desktop CICAL > hit your menu key and select delete > once gone hit your menu key again and select undelete. This should have brought it back. Check your appointments again and let me know if that worked.

  • Why does iCloud duplicate my calendar events?

All my events are duplicated on my MacBook calendar. Does anyone know why iCloud does this and how I can stop it? Also, why can't I delete pictures from Photo Stream?

For events...  on the Mac open System Preferences > iCloud. Switch Calendars off then back on then restart the Mac. Hopefully that will stop the duplicates.
You can delete photos by Resetting your Photo Stream

  • How to duplicate calendar events copy paste?

I am trying to build my schedule on calendars with my iPad. I would like to put in my work schedule but I don't work the same days every week. I am looking for a way to copy paste/duplicate entries so I don't have to keep inputting them. Because I don't work the same days each week/month I can't use the repeat feature. I have tried a long press to copy and paste but it moves the whole event and doesn't duplicate it. Is there a way to do this? I have found that I can do this on my Macbook Pro in iCal and then it updates the iPad through iCloud but I would like to do it with my iPad because I have the iPad and iPhone with me all the time and the Macbook stays at home.

As you know by now, there is now way to copy and paste (drag and drop duplicate) iPad Calendar events. However, I have found a workaround that allows you to duplicate an event and place the duplicates in various dates on your Calendar. NOTE: This is probably not too practical for making a single copy, but it does save time and keystrokes for multiple copies.  In Calendar, tap on the event you want to duplicate and select Edit. In the Edit window select Repeat. In the Repeat window select Every Day, then tap Done to take you back to the Edit menu.  Tap End Repeat and select an end date that will give you the number of copies you want (e.g., if the original event date is 11/12 and you want 5 copies, select 11/17 as the End Repeat date.  Tap Done twice to return to the Calendar. Then just drag the Repeats/Copies to the various dates where you want them placed (works best in Month view). When you finish each drag/drop, you will get a "This is a repeating event" pop-up window; you need to select "Save for this event only."

  • TS4118 How do you get rid of duplicate calendar events on iPad?

I just synced my iPad with my MacBook (which I do all the time) but this time, it resulted  in duplicating all my iPad calendar events (events do not appear as duplicates on my MacBook).  This happened immediately after I enabled iCloud syncing of my calendar.  I have now disabled Icloud syncing and I just synced my iPad with my MacBook again.  The events are still appearing in duplicate on my iPad.

iTunes settings for iPad and iPhone are independent.  If your iPhone doesn't have duplicate entries, check your settings when plugged into iTunes, then use the same settings for your iPad.  But, it really sounds as if you've simply enabled calendar syncing directly from your Mac when it's plugged into iTunes.  This will then update your iPad's calendar with whatever's in your Desktop calendar when you plug it in to iTunes.  Uncheck this setting in iTunes when you next have your iPad plugged in to sync, and the duplicates should disappear, leaving only those events pulled down from MobileMe.  The plug in sync option is for people who don't use MobileMe.

  • Duplicate calendar events with iCloud

I would like to use icloud for my calendar on my iphone and mac desktop.  When I turn this calendar on though it duplicates all the events on my desktop and iphone too.  Any suggestions how to use it without having everything duplicate?

I do know of a workaround that I found through a Google search. I have used this script for over a year now and it helps keep things clean for the most part. It works well. It has on occasion been a little buggy, but nothing that a Mac restart and 2 or 3 script runs couldn't fix. It has a readme that gives you proper installation instructions which basically consists of copying the script to your Entourage script menu. You then can access it within the Enourage application.
Here is a link to the site that has the fix: http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/duplicates.html
Apple, please fix this soon! Or you may lose at least this customer to another phone technology.

  • HT1296 When syncing to ipod and ipad i get duplicate contacts and calendar events

Probllems syncing contacts and calendare events. I get dups and triplicates

How are you syncing? Are you syncing through itunes, icloud or both? Most issues come from syncing the same data/content from more than one source.

  • Duplicate calendar events

I have my iPad2 linked to my Entourage calendar and iCloud storage.  I have several duplicated calendar events, and I can't figure out how to delete them from my iPad2.  They are not duplicated on my iMac's Entourage.

Unless I had to do others things, such as shutting off the iPad2 or something else, this did not work for me. I do believe there is a connection to iCloud's old files or the like, but I don't know how to get rid of anything on the calendar in iPad2.  Why is there no delete function?

  • Duplicate calendar events mac to iphone

I haven't found anyone yet who knows how to fix this problem.  My iCal sends 3 or 4 of the same calendar event to my iPhone.  I can't believe it was easier to sync iCal with my old Blackberry.  Before I look into downloading a different calendar application, I was hoping to find a solution.  This was happening on my iPhone 4 and is now happening on my iPhone 5.  (Mac OS X 10.6.8)
    Thanks!

  • Duplicate alarms for calendar events on N9

I noticed I get multiple alarms for calendar events on my N9. For some events, I get four times the same notification. I also sometimes get notifications for deleted events.
I sync my calendar over bluetooth. Since I had some troubles setting up the sync, I deleted the calendar a few times and synced again. So I have the impression that the alarms of the events of the deleted calendars are still stored in some database. I guess this causes the same alarm to be triggered multiple times and alarms for deleted events to be displayed.
Is there a way to re-generate the internal alarms database?
(I did already upgrade to PR1.1, this didn’t fix it.)

I used BT sync with Windows 7 (64 bit), because I was not able to do USB sync (as N9 is not supported by any Nokia PC sync soft). After that I had a real mess: Each event was multiplied to occur multiple times during a day, thoughout each week, throughour each year, e.g. for example meeting scheduled for 10am on October 20, 2011, occurred a number of times on the same day,  and each previous week until 2005 (when my calendar starts).  An event that was scheduled back in 2005 occurred each week throughout 2011.  The same thing happened to my Outlook. So you can imagine a mess that I got with my calendar after syncing with N9. Thanks that I had intact calendar on my Ipad and was able to restore my Outlook.  I had to to manually correct calendar on N9 (because any further attempts to sync with Outlook) resulted in the same mess.  When I say manually I mean that I deleted all entries (takes time) and re-entered only ones that I really needed (such as birthdays, other anniversaries and meetings from October 2011 forward).  After that I did not risk syncing N9 with Outlook anymore in expectation of a decent  sync software from Nokia (which I doubt will come, since even their latest soft Nokia Suite is not supporting N9 (although there some users were able to successfully sync with PC Suite, and some installed previous version of Ovi Suite, upgraded it to Nokia Suite and it works now for them -- but not for my very special N9).  Having fianlly lost confidence in Noikia I decided to become a happy user of iPhone (with all or at least most soft needed being put in place by Apple or 3rd parties).

  • Duplicate calendar events using Intellisync

I'm using Intellisync with my Treo 680 phone.  It works GREAT for my GroupWise 7.0.1 e-mail on both my phone and PC, but for some reason my calendar events are being duplicated several times on my Windows XP PC GroupWise when the phone and PC are synched.   They're  not duplicated on the Treo calendar.  Any ideas?
Post relates to: Treo 680 (Cingular)

A friend of mine who recently switched from a PC to Mac is experiencing the same problem after installing all the latest updates (Mac OS X 10.7.2 + iOS5 on his iPhone and iPad). He synchronizes his iPhone and iPad through iTunes with the iCal and Outlook 2011. The mac can't stop duplicating birthday alarms and currently has about 15 alarms per person.
Anyone having some ideas or at least a solution to stop the replication until Apple releases an update? If BobRocks is right about this happening with each new iTunes version, that's a big shame...

  • Outlook 2013 clients receiving duplicate acceptance emails from same attendee for same calendar event

    Environment:
    Office 2013 Suite
    Windows 7
Few of our employees setup a calendar event on their calendar and invited about 6-10 attendees.  When few attendees have replied with an acceptance of the event and the others have yet to reply.  5 of the group that have replied is somehow sending
the same acceptance reply repeatedly.  This has been going on for several days now and the timing is seemingly random.  Obviously the person that sent the acceptance reply is not manually doing it repeatedly.  That would be too easy of a solution:)
Can someone please help me troubleshoot this problem.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Does this issue happen to all calendar events? If so, we may try to create a new event using OWA and then check if you can reproduce the issue.
Do you have any delegates set for these affected users?
Do the employees have their calendars sync with any mobile devices? If so, we may disable the sync to see if the issue will be fixed.
In addition, we may try to enable Outlook troubleshooting logging on the calendar owner's computer and delegate computer, then we can check the logging data to see if we can find if the responses are sent by a delegate or third-party software. To enable
Outlook troubleshooting logging, go to File > Options > Advanced, scroll to the bottom of the dialog and select the "Enable troubleshooting logging" option. You'll need to restart your Outlook to trigger the logging. For more information about
    Outlook troubleshooting logging, please refer:

  • How do I remove duplicate iCloud calendar entries in iTunes

Hello Everyone and thanks in advance for any help on this issue!
The main issue is that in iTunes>Devices>Info>Sync Calendars, I see of Local calendars listed and also iCloud calendars listed (they show a portion of the address (CalDAV?) that they use to sync), and the issue is that I have DUPLICATE iCloud calendar entries here and I would love to remove them.
    Here is my setup:
MBP with Lion and iPhone 3G with all updates.
All of my calendars sync with iCloud (I also have an iPad, but not issue with it.) and there are no duplicate calendars or events in iCloud on the web, so this is fine.
I sync my iCloud/iCal calendars to my iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) via iTunes and this is going well, so no problems here, either.
I would just like to remove the duplicate iCloud calendars from iTunes under the Info pane so as to simplify life and my understanding. Also, there are other apps (like TimeTable) that go and read the master list of calendars. So, on this app, I see ALL of the calendars by name without being able to distinguish them any other way.
Any ideas as to how I can climb inside of iTunes and remove the duplicate iCloud calendar entries?
    Thanks!
    Blessings,
    Justin

I can confirm that there are no duplicate contacts. Currently, because I use an iPhone 3G, my contacts are only being synced via iTunes, not via iCloud.
My question relates not to duplicate calendar events, but to duplicate calendar addresses (in iCloud) in iTunes' Info pane.
    Here is a pic:
So, you can see that there are 2 entries for 'Personal', each with the iCloud address (CalDAV?) attached to it. Note that one entry says, 'Personal iCld' instead of just 'Personal'. This is because I renamed all of my iCloud calendars in iCal to see if that would help me distinguish the 'working' calendars from the duplicate entries.
I would love to be able to get rid of the extra calendars in iTunes to avoid confusion. I do not have any duplicate calendar entries on any devices at this point. I think part of this is because I have deslected the duplicate calendar references in iTunes.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Justin

  • Duplicated calendar events on Notifications Center

I have recently upgrade my 3GS with iOS 5.  On my notifications center, I am getting duplicated notifications of all my Calendar events on the Notifications Center. I have gone into the Calendar and made sure there is no calendar that is checked and displayed twice, but this still did not fix the problems.  Anyone know how to correct this?

I have the same issue--it's clearly that one set is from Mobile Me and one set is on My Mac. I solved this by turning off all my calendars on My Mac. If I change the Mobile Me calendars, they sync properly. The only bummer is that I can't edit these events on my iPad, but at least I don't have duplicate events! I haven't had the guts to delete the calendars yet, I just unclicked them in the list...
