Duplicating an encore-2 project....using XP

I would like to duplicate an encore project on an external drive. I copy the files to it, everything seems to be OK in the project panel, the menus all seem to be OK, except the file in the time line seems to be "offline" and previews are all blank.

I archive my Encore Projects to a series of 1TB externals. My system for managing Assets is to have the Project folder with sub-folders for all of the various Assets: Menus, Video, Audio, Stills, Music, etc. These are all kept in their exact hierarchy. In a few instances, when I go back to the Project, I do have to re-link the Assets, as they may have been in the same spot, but on G:\ and now they are on X:\. Usually, however, Encore finds them right off, and though the load time is up a bit, everything works, as intended. I suppose that I could meddle with drive letters, but as my system has 6 internal HDDs and an infinite number of externals, that is much more of a bother, and prone to real mess-ups. A bit of re-linking is all that is needed, especially when you know where all of that type of Asset will be - right in the Video sub-folder, for example.

Dvds made with encore cs5 not using full 4.65gb as cs4 did

The majority of my video work consists of burning DVDs of event videos that are longer than two hours. I edit the video, dynamic link over to Premiere, add a second time line with a 10 second logo video and render the DVD. And since the begining of time with CS3, these DVD images always come out to be 4.65/4.66 gb (according to OS X). Now, with CS5, changing absolutely nothing--exact same workflow--Encore is only using 4.21 gb of space. The disc info section of the build pane lists around 450mb of free space (on the particular project I'm looking at right now).
This is a significant amount of wasted space and is unacceptable. Why is this happening?

I was finally able to talk to someone from Adobe and they tell me that this is the expected behavior, that supposedly not all DVDs are manufactured at the correct size and this extra space is to prevent problems. Should that even be true (aren't DVD's a standard?? If it says there's 4.7gb on it doesn't than mean there's 4.7gb??) this is a STUPID decision for the following reasons:
* It doesn't show this 500mb extra space until after you render your items. Before that time, it shows all the disc space being used--1 or 2 megs free and no more
* If this is necessary then make the default disc image size 4.2gb and add it to the drop-down list of sizes. Then I can pick 4.7 if I want it.
* It doesn't even always leave 500mb. Sometimes, completely unexplicably--I'd say 10% of the time, it uses the full amount of space...like it's done since Encore v1.0. So if I manually change the disc size to 5.2 in order to get the right size image, I sometimes find that nope, Encore isn't drunk today, and I now have a 5.2gb disc image and have to start over.
It seems like every time I update my software w/ the promise of things speeding up my workflow (and other things in CS5 have), something like this pops up to F it all up and I resign myself to thinking well, I guess Adobe will fix this one day...and call it CS6 and charge me another $700 for it.

Duplicate Project + Used Clips Only not working as expected.

I am revisiting this once again and have had some good information on the matter, but I am not getting the results I think I should.

I want to archive ONLY the project and clips used for a project.
If I export my project using the current settings (ProRes) then shouldn't the Duplicate Project and Used Clips only feature give me a a backup that is roughly the same size as my exported Quicktime?
Currewntly when I use any of the Duplicate operations other than the 1st, all media is duplicated, not just what is needed.
Has anyone had success with just getting what you need for the project?
The reason why I don't want to archive all of the media outside the project is due to hard drive space. I have the camera raws backed up already. I just want to be able to open the project again if needed and only the project with necessary media.

When you say " I also changed the default start to 7:30 and end 4:30", are you talking about the
project information in the project tab? You're supposed to be able to specify only one of the parameters (start date or finish date) depending if you're back-planning or not.
Check if the option "ignore resource calendar" on the task if checked.
Also try to press F9.
Are the task manually scheduled? Do you have constraints on the tasks?

Encore balloons project size

Okay, so i've got 3.5 hrs of footage that came off of a JVC Everio HDD, and it's 720x480 SD.
Encore accepts the footage as "Do not Transcode" for DVD settings.
Realizing bitrate vs. quality, i've decided instead to create a BluRay with SD footage.
Unfortunately, Encore CS4.0 requires transcoding when it comes to BluRay. Although it shouldn't, i've always had Encore re-encode totally compliant Mpeg2 footage.
But this isn't my dilemna.
My issue is, even within Encore's project settings, regardless of maximum bitrate, and with Encore doing a re-encode, the output size balloons out to 50gig.
I've got 25 gig BD-R image selected.
The original SD material is only 18gig in size!!!
Any help would be appreciated. I've always had issues with Encore's Mpeg2 for BluRay compliance. But this is definately a curve ball..
I might be forced to go to h264 on this one.

Here's the rundown...
Clips that are ingested, are transcoded, as per bitrate calculator. I verified this by the size of transcode.
Transcoded clips equal roughly same size as ingested clips...This is verified by the source>transcode folder...
Since Encore uses this folder to build a BluRay folder, the output size should equal the transcode folder size (give or take a few megs)..
So what starts off as a build folder of 12 gig, ends up outputting to a folder size of 33gig...

I've since renamed my .mod files to .mpeg, and it's looking more promising.
However, my audio is lost.
Gonna reboot, and get back..

How To Archive Encore CS3 projects

Question: How To Archive Encore CS3 projects
I edit my AVI files in Premiere Pro CS3 and then author in Encore CS3. When the project is finished, I want to archive both the Premiere and Encore projects. If I need to restore a project, I would recapure the AVI files from the mini DV tapes using Premiere.
What Encore and Premiere files and folders do I have to save so I can later restore the project?
What files and folders can I erase?

Adobe Premiere Pro is very similar to Final Cut Pro (non-X). It has a number of pros, including being bundled with the Creative Suite, which includes Photoshop.
Avid Media Composer is, IMHO the best "story telling" editor, but is a little more difficult and unwieldy when it comes to effects etc. In addition to being pricey, it also require compliance with the use of only AVID approved hardware.
Autodesk has Smoke on the Mac, which is an excellent effects editor, but with a $17K price tag.
My personal plan is to bunker my FCS 3 systems and run them until they drop, while slowly and comfortable migrating to Premiere Pro.
One big advantage to either of these editors (with the exception of Smoke on the Mac) is that they are cross-platform, so if you learn the Mac version you can switch easily to the PC version - which protects your investment of time in learning the softwre as the future for the Mac Pro is also hazy.

How to Archive Encore CS4 Project?

How to Archive Encore CS4 Project?
The goal is to archive the minimum number of files necessary to restore an Encore project. I would let Encore regenerate configuration and transcode files. The Encore project would use dynamic links to Premiere sequences. I would not want to delete anything which would prevent me from immediately building a DVD once the assets were transcoded.
I believe you can delete the
1) "cache" folder
2) "Sources\Transcodes" folder
Do not delete the
1) "Sources\Menus" folder since it has the menus
The "Sources" folder contains numerous "xxx_ses" folders. It is unclear if deleting them causes problems.
It is unclear what the "Sources\Video" folder does.

Encore has no archiving features, so you would be taking some risk here as manually archiving Encore projects is not a supported workflow.
If you're OK with taking on the risk, then yes, you can delete contents of the cache and Sources\Transcodes folders. You can also delete all the session folders, as long as you are not re-using assets in the project. If you are not using the menus in the project, you can also delete the contents of Sources\Menus.
I believe that Sources\Video contains rendered slideshow transitions, but I could be mistaken. What do you have in it?

I was using a custom Application, which had a id other then 275 (which belongs to Oracle projects)

Eclipse web project using Glassfish 4.1 can not load some libraries in modules directory

We installed latest "Glassfish Tools for Luna" (updated on 2 October 2013) and created a new Eclipse dynamic web project using Glassfish 4.1. When try to annotate a class with "javax.enterprise.context.ApplicationScoped", it complains as "ApplicationScoped cannot be resolved to a type" although imported as "import javax.enterprise.context.ApplicationScoped".
Checking "glassfish-4.1/glassfish/modules/" directory and there is cdi-api.jar that contains ApplicationScoped class. But when checking from the project libraries in the eclipse, couldnt see such a jar.
My configuration:
Eclipse 4.4
Glassfish runtime java development kit : java 1.8.0_20
Project java development kit : java 1.8.0_20
Project compiler level : 1.8
Project facets : Dynamic web module 3.1, Java 1.8, Glassfish Web Extensions 4.0, Javascript 1.0

There are 274 jars in the Glassfish 4.0 modules directory, whereas there are 282 jars in the Glassfish 4.1 modules directory. So it is not only cdi-api.jar. Moreover there are some libraries, the names of which have been changed.
Why not simply importing all libraries in the modules directory to Eclipse, like Tomcat plugin does for tomcat/lib directory? So when manually deploying a library(jar) to modules directory Eclipse will discover it automatically.

Im develop a chat project using flash bulider, my question is how i make sure that the porject when open from diffrent screens size no change,
becouse after i finish th chat project i publish on website later i discover this problem for example when i access project from screen have size 17 or 21
is work fine but in the same time i access from my notbook that him screen is 14 is not work and seems the project is mixed the webcamera no appear complete also other function dosent appear complete like sharescreen.
can some help guide me to find the way that i access the project whatever screen size is work fine and not mixed od disappear functions.

What email are you using?
The easiest way to send pictures is to use Apple's Mail.app that is part of the OS - it DOES NOT require a .Mac account.
If you are using a purely web-based email account, the File>Export method is the easiest.

Error while creating Project using API - PA_PROJECT_PUB.CREATE_PROJECT

I am working on Projects conversion and currently trying to create a project using the API.
I have recetified all the errors it was giving and struck at 1 error. please find the error message below.
"You have submitted invalid parameters to this process, preventing its successful completion. Please contact your system administrator."
It gives me this error and I was not able to know the cause for this error. Please let me know how to bypass this error and go ahead with projects conversion???

Hi Kesava,
I notice that in the package you used the application user_name=CHUNDUK calls the API pa_project_pub.create_project.
I wonder if you used chunduk as database user to execute the package Or you used APPS to execute the package?
The APi document states that it is a requirement to create a db username as the same name with the application username.
I have been running the problem to execute API 's delete project and try to figure what could be my problem.

While trying to Create Projects using the API, I'm getting two types of errors -
The first is : 'API failed in one stage 1 Customer Name is a mandatory Quick Entry field. Value must be passed'
The second is : '
'API failed in one stage 1 Project: '<Project_Number>'
The class category is invalid.'
Both the messages are produced by our custom program. .. however I am not able to understand why the underlying errors occur.
The first error ( Customer Name is a mandatory quick entry field), is caused by Projects that are to be created from Project templates where it is configured with Quick Entry Customer Name required. We are passing Customer Site number ( Party Bill to site number and Party Ship to side number). The site numbers being passed are also set as 'Primary'. Yet they are failing.
For the second Error ( The Class Category is invalid), I rechecked multiple times, the Class categories for the Projects I am trying to create, with the Config in R12 and they are fine. Can't understand the reason for these two issues. Has anyone encountered such an issue ? If so how was it resolved?

I resolved both the issues. In case there are others facing similar issues, following was the cause and resolution of my errors
1. Error 1: Customer Name is a Mandatory Quick Entry field. Value must be passed.
The cause was that the data loaded into our custom staging table was not in the right fields. This was because the data file values and the CTL were not in sync.
Resolution:
Corrected the data file to be in Sync with the structure defined in the CTL and this loaded it successfully
2. Error 2: The class category is invalid.
The cause of this error was that in the Projects Template (used to create the project from), the Quick Entry setup had a Class Category set as required and I was not passing a value ( a class code value) for that Class Category.

Visarc generates dirty project using SVN source control

Hi,
I've read in different topics some issues related to the visarc file, but unfortunately, none of them helped me out. I was wondering if any of you came across this issue and found a solution or workaround to it.
The problem relates to a LabVIEW project which opens dirty, as you commonly say, under some circunstances. Below I will explain some of the problems I encountered as I tried to track this problem down.
1. I'm running a large LabVIEW Run-Time project using a PXI with several FPGA - cRIO.
2. I found that when opening the project file, this is perfectly clean and no asterisk shows in the title bar. I close the project and no saving is needed.
3. I open the project again and I open a sub-VI which contains the following code:
4. Straight away, the file visarc shows up under the Dependencies tree of the Real-Time PXI and the asterisk shows now on the title bar of the project (not the VI).
5. The VI closes without needed to be saved but the project says that an item was added, removed and added, and it has to be saved (as soon as I close the subVI above, the visarc file dissapears from the Dependencies section).
6. What I do next is to add this file visarc (located in Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\resource) to the project under the PXI tree. I then save the project and close it.
7. I open the project again, and it keeps being clean (not dirty, as you say).
8. I open the same sub-vi than before and everything keeps being clean and no saving is needed neither on the sub-VI nor the project. Everything goes smooth in my local computer from now on.
However, the issue that I can not resolve follows:
9. We are two people working on this project, and we're using SVN as source version control. Everything works fine in my computer, but when my partner update the files on his computer, the project opens dirty as soon as it opens (only the project, the sub-VI is no needed to be saved).
10. My partner just save the project and close it, and it becomes clean straight away in his computer. The files which are saved are the aliases file (I expected that), the labview project file, and the LVLPS File of the project.
This issue will happen again as soon as any of us downloads the SW committed by the other.
I hope any of you can help me out with this issue. Any suggestion or idea are welcome.

As far as I know, the resource manager does not support version control. If you map the version control folder to a local folder, you can use that in RoboHelp. But I'm afraid that any changes in the resource manager files will require you to manually check them out first. This is how I'm doing it anyway.

Need to find the assets associated to a BCC project using SQL query

Hi,
Given a BCC project (project_id), I need to find the assets (type of asset, version, status etc) in that project using SQL queries.
I need this for reporting purpose and cannot do this programatically using any code.
Surprisingly ATG does not store this association in a direct way. Can someone provide me the query if you have already done this before?
I tried enabling loggingDebug in PublishingRepository and VersionManagerRepository to get the queries, but I did not get what I want.

UPDATE:
When a project is selected in BCC, ATG is doing something crazy, as it appears to me, of querying all the tables (ofcourse when there is a cache miss) in all the versioned item descriptor with the workspace id of the project to display the assets contained in it.
I do not see an easy or direct way of coming up with a query for this requirement.

But it is a brand new computer with a clean version of Logic, I only have 2 projects??!

I think that's not the exact of the message. Next time, try to make a note of the exact text, and that will help narrow down what's happening.

Define Proxy Server details in MS Dynamics CRM 2013 tamplate project using CRM 2013 developer toolkit

I am trying to create MS CRM 2013 template project using MS CRM 2013 developer tool kit. When I am trying to connect with MS CRM 2013 online , it is giving me error "407 Proxy Authentication Required".
Actually I am using proxy server for connect with CRM. In my custom application as well as using plugin registration tool I have define below setting in config file for avoid this error

But in MS CRM 2013 template project I don't get any option to add config file. So I am unable to add this detail in project.
