Duplicating an existing font

Hi,
I'm trying to replicate these two fonts in a video I'm making.  Can someone tell me the font/color they are using?

Okay thanks, can someone tell me how to do the title effect at the very opening of this in Premiere Pro?  How to make the title small and enlarge?

  • Fonts from my G5 will not be recognized on a new iMac. What do I do to make most of my existing fonts work on my iMac.  Thx

I just got a new iMac (desktop) and need to transfer all existing fonts from a G5. Fonts work fine on the G5 but when I try to install them on the iMac all I see is a blackened icon that won't open for installation. Any suggestions as to what I can do be able to install? Thx, AT

  • How do I access existing fonts on my computer while using CC apps?

Hi, I have a dumb question that I can't seem to find the answer to. I'm pretty new to the Adobe creative software overall and just installed CC. Is there a way to access the fonts already installed on my Mac while in the CC apps?
In this case while in Photoshop CC or Illustrator CC, when I go to the 'Type' menu to find a font that I normally use, only an 'Add fonts to Typekit' option is available while none of the local fonts are listed.
Any help walking me through how to access my existing fonts would be appreciated. Thanks much!

Every font which is installed on your system can be used in most CC applications, exceptions are:
If a font type is Mac only, it can't be used on Windows.
If a font is installed in the private area of a software or software group (e.g. in the font folder of a specific program or of a manufacturer in application support) others cannot use this font.
If a font is installed in the user's private folder on the computer, others don't have access to this font.
What I suppose is, that you clicked on the T icon in the font menu. This will cause a filtering for TypeKit fonts only. Klick again on the T to release the filter.

  • Duplicated/blurred/overlapping fonted text in web view

We are experiencing an annoying issue with fonted text in web view frames. See the screenshot below:
Look closely at the headline and you'll notice that it seems to be duplicated on top of itself, as if there are two identical headlines on top of each other, a couple of pixels apart. This happening on ALL our HTML text story pages based on this template.
The page is HTML supported by local web fonts, an extremely basic CSS and a jQuery to handle the zoom function (the blue buttons at the top). The idea is that readers of our DPS folio tap on a button on a page to reveal a state in an MSO that contains a web view frame showing the full text version of a story.
The annoying thing is that the HTML looks absolutely fine in Safari and Chrome on my computer, nor in the desktop Content Viewer: the problem only arises in Safari and Chrome (and therefore DPS too) on the iPad 2 and 3.
Has anyone here experienced the same issue? Did you manage to solve it?
    Ali

Yes, I'm previewing as a raster folio - no zooming allowed. What made it curious is that when I put the same web files online and viewed them using the standard Safari browser and the Chrome browser on my iPad, I was seeing the same problem. So it seems to be an issue not directly related to DPS.
However, I think I've solved it, thanks to your prompting to keep returning to how the fonts are being addressed. I added the following lines to the <style type="text/css"> section of my HTML header:
    h1
              font-family: Headline;
              font-weight: normal;
I'm not sure why this did the trick: the 'Headline' style for the <h1> tag is already described and associated in the CSS and (I thought) referred to appropriately higher up in the HTML header, but there you go. Perhaps it needed a reminder, I dunno. The other styles didn't need this. I'm such a coding dimbo I haven't the faintest idea what's going on.
Thanks for directing me to the right places!

  • Duplicating an existing wiki

Is there a way to create a new wiki that contains the content from a current one?
I have a faculty member who wants to create a new wiki for a course, but wants it to include all the material they have already uploaded to an existing wiki.

Viewing the "My Forms" tab where your list of all of your forms is, select the form you want to duplicate and either use right click to bring up the context menu and select "Duplicate" or click on the "Duplicate" button on the toolbar:
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Duplicating an existing form

How do I duplicate an existing form?  We want to keep the current form but just recreate it and make some changes to it.

Viewing the "My Forms" tab where your list of all of your forms is, select the form you want to duplicate and either use right click to bring up the context menu and select "Duplicate" or click on the "Duplicate" button on the toolbar:
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • In Safari (in Gmail), plain text pasted in doesn't adopt the existing font

When pasting plain text into Safari (Gmail), it shows up as Ariel instead of the current font in use in the e-mail (happens to be Trebuchet). It doesn't happen in Chrome.

And it's only a Gmail issue, not in, for example, Google Docs.

  • Duplicating the existing sourcesystem assignments to a new source-system

    Hi all
We have another new sourcesystem (logical system) in our BI system.
This is a copy of the productive erp-sytsem, upgraded to EHP4.
Now we want to test the connectivities and data load procedures.
Is there a possibility to "copy" all the existing datasources/transformations of an existing system
to this new system without using transports?
We already tried using report 'RBDLSMAP' but it seems to overwrite the existing assignments.
    Any idea??
    Thanks
    Thomas

    Hello Thomas,
You have to use a transport , to transport the source system dependent objects normally the following procedure is used:
    RSA1
    Transport Connection
Button 'Collection mode'  set to 'start manual collection'
Press 'Source system assignment' button (it's the one left of the
    'Request BEx' button)
Select the source systems you want to save the transfer rules for
    Continue
Button 'Grouping' set to 'Save for system copy'
At the left border click on 'Object Types'
    Extend tree  'Source system' LSYS
    Double click on 'Select objects'
Select the source systems you want to collect objects for
the source system is now displayed in the right box
Press collecting button ('gather dependent objects')
    this may take a while
Right click on the root of the tree and select
    Transport all below
Expand the whole tree and check if there isn't an object which is locked
by an other open transport request !!
(the column 'Transport request' has to be empty (BEFORE deleting the corresponding source system
    connection!)
    Kind Regards,

  • Duplicating an existing Aperture Library on another machine: problem unsolved

I'm trying to duplicate one existing A3 library onto another machine. It's not working: the folder structure is different there. My aim is to be able to work with a duplicate library on the other machine in another location. Images are referenced, not managed.
I copied the Aperture library and the image folders. But the projects in A3 are not showing up as they do on the original machine. I assumed these are embedded in the Ap. library. Are they stored in another setting? I haven't tried copying over the Aperture folder in the Application Support folder, which contains Metadata sets and other things that look promising (esp: FileFolderPresets). Would that be the key? Nor have I copied over preferences.
Any tips appreciated. Haven't seen a good answer on this site yet. Thanks.

If by reconnected the masters you mean "Relocate Masters": no. First, what's different is that the Project structure is missing/not showing. Or rather (oddly) only up through April (Dec-April); I had A3 going on the 2nd machine a while ago and seemed to have the projects intact (same as on machine 1), good thru April. Now I need to update through June. None of the later months are showing.
Relocating Masters would not, I think, reproducing the Projects hierarchy, which is also what I need (and I don't think—I need to check—that my images are unreferenced, but they may be).
I read somewhere that you need to export Projects (https://discussions.apple.com/message/1837335#1837335, Ian Wood's contribution). But I don't know if you can export sets of Projects, and whether that's even the right way to go when dealing with several months (I organize months as Projects, and occasionally have interspersed events labeled as Projects, like Graduation).

  • JRE does not pick up the existing font installed in the OS

    Hi,
I am developing an application that required to display UTF-8 string in different language, eg. Japanese, Chinese,..., and having some problems with using font
    to display those strings.
    I. Problem:
For some reasons, the JRE does not pick up the fonts in either jre/lib/fonts or OS's fonts folder (Windows\Fonts) to use to handle these strings. This results in square boxes displayed.
    II. Temporary solutions found:
I searched and found the following solutions
    1. Put the font in the fallback folder under jre/lib/fonts
However, this requires to bundle the application with the fonts, it has some problems
    * Bundles all possible fonts significantly increase the size of the JRE
    * It is a waste if the OS already has the font (as in my case Arial Unicode MS font already installed). 2. Modify the font.properties file *<- which is not recommended.*
    III. Questions:
    1. So I am wondering if anyone knows other solutions to this problem?
    2. I came across some sites that says JRE will pick up the font correctly for a language if the OS is localized on that language. Is it true since I could not yet find that statement on sun website?
Any help or advices are greatly appreciated.
    Phuong,
PS: I'm using JDK 6 update 6, Windows XP English version

  • Thunderbird changing existing color, and occasionally font, from original messages in replies

    Hello,
Thunderbird keeps consistently changing text color (always) and font (sometimes, intermittently) when I reply to a message. I hope the attached images will make clear what I mean.
I have many e-mail exchanges where individuals involved use both font and color to make it instantly possible to distinguish who said what, and often in what order, based upon the font being specific to the individual and the color specific to the response given.
You will see in the attached screen shots that the original message contained two different fonts in dark blue colors. When I hit "Reply" the compose window switches all the text from the old messages to black. In this case it wouldn't matter much, but it can be very disorienting when you have an e-mail exchange going on that's got more participants all of whom use signature fonts and change either the font and/or color as the conversation progresses. Having everything "go black" removes essential context.
I also find it odd that when you place your cursor in the middle of existing text and open up a new line to insert your own material that the new material always mimics the last font that was in the material you've just "split open" to add your own reply. In virtually every other e-mail editor I've used when you place yourself in existing text and split it apart by hitting a return the opened area typically would use the font and font color you currently have specified in the compose window.
If there are settings I need to tweak to:
    1. Force Thunderbird to maintain all existing fonts and font colors when replying to an existing e-mail message,
    2. Get Thunderbird to use the font and font color I have chosen in the compose window any time I split existing quoted material to add new material,
I'd love to know what those settings are.

    Matt,
I decided to do some experimentation with creating multiple messages and replies strictly within Gmail's web interface and then to reply to same from Thunderbird. After that, I attempted to start the same sort of chain strictly using Thunderbird to create the messages. The difference is pretty stark.
The first attachment is how the multiple fonts and colors that originated from Gmail show in Thunderbird's reading window. They are all correct here.
The second shows how the multiple fonts and colors that originated from Gmail show up when I reply from within Thunderbird. Again, all of those fonts and colors are maintained as sent and the font and color I designated in my Thunderbird options are what get used when composing the reply.
The last shows what happens when I sent a message created in Thunderbird with one font and color and then go to reply to it from within Thunderbird after having switched my default font and color choice for composition intentionally prior to replying. The font from the original message is retained in the reply, but the color is converted to what has been selected for composition. This suggests to me that Thunderbird is not retaining color information at each "level" within a reply. It has to have sent color information in the original message because it shows up in that color on receipt when reading (I didn't bother with a screen shot, but if you want one I can get one). When replying it is stripping or overwriting the color information from the original message and using the current compose color and applying it to everything in the window.
As far as I'm concerned, that's a bug.

  • [IDCS2]  How can I know a font whether is existing or not

Now,I met a problem as follows:
1.When we open a document which contains missing font, the dialog comes.
2.When I apply a Japanese font on Japanese charactor [あ],it has no problems, but when I change it as Arial font,it becomes missing font.
In these two cases, the reasons why the font is missing are different,
So I want to know how to judge them (The font is really not existing and the font face is not existing in the current font)?
    Before I judge it by CID==0,but it seems wrong on Mac;
And I think the judgement is different on Mac and Win,
    who knows it,tell me please
    Thank you in advanced!

Aren't these two unrelated problems? They do get marked with the same color (ghastly pink), but in case #1 you don't have the font at all, and in case #2 you have a missing character in an existing font and what you see is the font's default character. A missing character has nothing to do with "font face".

  • Font substitution when Embedding fonts

The font embedding controls in FFCore's Optimize component include the ability to upload and select a Font Substitution Configuration File: To recap the documentation:The Font Substitution Configuration File option defines the pdfToolbox configuration file that will be used when embedding fonts. This configuration file controls font substitution behavior in Optimize. Fonts are embedded as subsets. Fonts are not embedded if they have a flag indicating that embedding is not allowed. The Embed missing fonts fixup in pdfToolbox Desktop preflight profiles includes an option to select a Font substitution policy:   If you select the Open folder with configuration files you will see the text files that control font substitution. Although pdfToolbox Desktop comes with 3 predefined font substitution policies, additional ones can be created by duplicating an existing policy file and editing it (you will have to restart acrobat to see the changes).  The prefix on the filname controls the display order of the font policies within pdfToolbox. I would also ensure there are no spaces in any new filenames. The font substitution policies are plain text files with the following content: DisplayName 1 My Special Name SubstituteAll<tab>Arial<tab>Helvetica<tab>Helvetica Neue<tab>Futura<tab>Helvetica Neue<tab>Microsoft Sans Serif<tab>MS PGothic<tab>Trebuchet MS<tab>Verdana
    SubstituteFirst<tab>Arial Bold<tab>Arial-Bold<tab>Helvetica Bold<tab>Futura-Bold<tab>Futura Bold<tab>Helvetica-Bold
The DisplayName defines the name that will appear in the pdfToolbox UI: The remaining lines specify which fonts may be substituted by which fonts and the precedence for substitution.SubstituteAll - all fonts in the list are substituted for each other. When a font is missing pdfToolbox will work down the list until it reaches the name of an available font.SubstituteFirst - only the first font in the list is substituted. pdfToolbox will work down the list until it reaches the name of an available font. Note: the font names must match what pdfToolbox will find. The best way to ascertain that is to run a preflight on the file and copy the names off the report.  UPDATE - Updated example text to show location of tabs

I added a new topic to the forum covering font substitution: http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/FreeFlow-Core/Font-substitution-when-Embedding-fonts/td-p/177411

  • Cmap for this font is missing

I wrote some code using the following  PDF API call
                encoding = PDSysEncodingCreateFromCMapName(cmapAtom);
    This throws an exception
The CMAP for the existing font is missing or something that effect. I am using UniJIS-UTF16-H as the CMAP designation and ArialUnicodeMS for the font.
I have the PDFLDataRec data structure set up to look for the resource directories that contain the information, CMAP,Font, Unicode, but this doesn't help.
I cal PDFLInitHFT() to pass this information to th PDFL API library to initialize it but it doesn't seem to help. What am I missing?

Since this is a question about PDFL, I recommend you file a report via your support methods (Datalogic or Adobe).

  • H E L P mac math foonths to windows-compatible fonts

im a novice when it comes to font development. i want to convert mac math fonts to pc-compatible fonts. ive been trying to follow the guidelines on how to do it but i cant seem to have an output. dont know how python works and i dont know if my files are correct. i have "PalatBol, PalatBolIta, Palatino, PalatIta and PalatRom" and some other mac math fonts. so how do i put it in features file, etc. and what is "an outline font" mentioned in the overview? i dont see also the window wen i double-click on the makeotf.py (regarding makeotf.py, mentioned and shown on page 2 of the documentation).
pls help me as i have a deadline to meet.
im pc-based by the way. thank you very much.

If you simply want to convert existing fonts to an equivalent pc version, then the FDK is the wrong tool. OpenType fonts have a lot of new meta-data that older formats do not have, and you will have to spend quite a bit time researching and making choices about how to build the new data. These areas are:
    - extended set of menu names and other text info
    - Unicode encoding tables
    - OpenType layout features: these are very complex for math
    - Panose number and other data for the OS/2 table
You best choice for the specific task of converting is the TypeTool products from FontLab ( see http://www.fontlab.com/html/typetool.html).
You may alo be able to make do with the free conversion tools at:
    http://fondu.sourceforge.net/
These do not cover all the flavors of font data you might want, but if you can figure out how to use them and they cover the cases of interest to you, they will be sufficient.
I recommend the TypeTool , as it comes with a manual and requires relatively little computer and font expertise.
The specific problem you have with the FDK shows that the Python interpreter does not know where to find the FDK add-on modules. This means in turn that you need to run the FinishInstall.py. NOTE! You have to run this as described in the installation instructions: you must run it by dragging it onto the icon for the Python interpreter. If you run it by double-clicking on it, it will make incorrect file-paths.
