Duplicating contacts in Phonebook n whatsapp

my iPhone 4S phone book contacts has been duplicate in All contact, and in whatsapp it duplicates all contact, that's mean each contacts show up twice, how can i fix it???

I had this problem and after much faffing about I have solved it.
Go into your main contacts folder on the phone and click 'edit' one of the contacts that is appearing twice in the WhatsApp app.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and you should see an option in a red bar to delete 2 contacts. (I don't know why this shows as 2 contacts)
Don't delete them yet.
You will need to click on the minus sign to unlink these contacts, then click done.
Go back into the main contacts page and you will see 2 contacts now instead of one, delete one.
Go to the Whatsapp app and you will see that the duplicate has now gone.
If you have a lot of contacts this might take a little while, but this worked for me

I don't know if this helps much, but Address Book was basically the same application in a previous version of the Mac OS. Folks still seem to use the terms interchangably though. Similarly, Calendar used to be "iCal."
I believe syncing contacts with Google or iCloud is an either/or proposition - you can't do both. When you sync with either, a copy is saved to your Mac for faster access (like a web browser's cache). I believe there's still an option to save contacts exclusively to your Mac (HD), but I don't think it's either preferred or occurs by default if you have an account such as Gmail/google or iCloud already set up.
I've never played with preferences in Contacts (Address Book), but I do have both google and iCloud accounts associated with my Mac. Under System Preferences:Mail, Contacts & Calendars, you can specify what accounts do on your Mac. If you have multiple accounts set up, a list will appear on the left side. As you select each one, a list of check boxes appear to the right for each service you want to associate with that account. For example, I have an iCloud account for mail, calendars, contacts, and Safari (among others). I have a Gmail account for mail, although it gives me the option of using this account for calendars, etc. For Gmail, the only item I have checked is mail. It's never asked me if I wanted to sync my addresses with Google.
I hope this helps... at least a little. If nothing else, I hope I've solved the "Address Book" mystery ;-)

On your iOS device tap Settings > iCloud. Turn Contacts off.
Reset the device. Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Now tap Settings > iCloud. Turn Contacts back on.

Yes, It is possible. You can merge contacts, calendars, and bookmarks between multiple computers.
When you sync the contacts and calendars to your iPhone from the new computer you'll see the option to Merge or Replace, just choose Merge.

Duplicated contact cards without visible changes

Hi everyone,
I'm having duplicate entries in address book from time to time. This time I have 47 duplicated informations found. I can merge them and am out of dupes and out of trouble. But it comes back some time and I really liked to know what changes are done. I don't have 47 duplicated contact cards, maybe one or so. Can I see the changes somehow?

UPDATE:
I made a vimdiff between the old card set and the one after the merge. I saw several of these items that disappeared:

It seems the entries came in through the facebook sync app on iPhone. I also wondered why they are not clickable in address book on the Mac, just on the iPhone. Did they do something inappropriate? And why does address book recognise those entries as duplicates?

Duplicated contacts - 174 of them.

In the lead up to the iCloud launch, I began getting duplicates of lots of random contacts on my iPhone. (Some of these contacts are recent entries I use all the time, and some long forgotten ones I haven't looked at in years). Now, some of my contacts have 7 different cards each containing up to 174 of each different entry - mobile tel no's, email addresses, landlines etc. So one contact, which itself may be duplicated 6 times, can contain over 700 different entries. I tried manually deleting over 1000 duplicated contacts on my Mac, but now the iCloud wants to sync them all back to my iPhone. There's not much room left on my iPhone for music or photos. Check you don't have iCloud contact syncing AND iTunes contact syncing enabled.

I had duplicated contacts on my old iPhone. Went with Lion and iCloud, and the duplicates were gone. New iPhone yesterday and now all my contacts are duplicated again. How do I resolve?

When I first signed up with iCloud (and still had Mobile Me), my contacts all double or tripled, or more in my contact list. When I went with Lion and fully integrated iCloud, that issue resolved itself. I got a new iPhone yesterday, and when it was up and running, everything was fine. This morning, I notice that my contacts are all duplicated again. My personal contact is in my phone 10 times. How do I resolve this? My iTunes sync setting does not have me syning my contacts, it should just be in iCloud. Thanks for any help.

How can i find out which of my contacts do not use whatsapp?

I am using iPhone 5S on iOs 7.0.2
I am conducting an event where I want to send invitations to almost all my contacts.
Since there is daily limit on the number of Text Messages I can send out in a single day in my country, I want to segregate my contacts into people who use whatsapp and people who dont.
So, for whoever possible, I can send the invite via Whatsapp, and for the rest, I can send across a text message.
Any insights on how to do that..?

I believed that the Whatsapp program looked at your contacts, and anyone already with Whatsapp info would show up in "favorites" under the Whatsapp program. Is this not the case? To do this, you would need to allow WhatsApp access to your Contacts.
Another thought: Does Whatsapp info show up in the standard iPhone contacts? If so, do you sync your contacts to iCloud, and have access to a PC? On the OS X Contacts app (OS X 10.9.3), or in the web-based version of iCloud using a PC, I can type "twitter" or "gmail" in the search field, and it shows me all the contacts who have twitter accounts or gmail accounts. On my iPhone 5C using iOS 7.1.1, I can try and do the same thing in the search bar of the Contacts App; it works for "gmail", showing me folks having a gmail address, but not for "twitter".
I have no experience with Whatsapp, however, this may not work, and would depend I guess on that info being something that shows up in the contacts list on your phone.
