Duplicating DVD created in Encore is a NO GO!!!!!! HELP!!!!

I created a DVD using Encore 2.0 and when I try to duplicate it using a duplicator, it hangs.
The media I'm using: verbatim DVD-R
In Encore, I built the DVD using "DVD Disc" The resulting DVD plays fine, I did a check before burning with no issues but trying to duplicate the DVD is a no go.
Any help would be appreciated.
Note: The files were mpeg-2 captured using a Canopus EMR 100. The extension on the files is m2p and again, they play fine in the DVD player but I can't duplicate them.

Neil,
Thanks for the quick response. This is what I tried:
I burned the file to a Vetbatim X8 DVD-R (the speed on Encore's BUILD DISC was set to X5. The DVD-R played fine but prescanning or trying to duplicate it--no good.
I burned the same project to a Memorex DVD RW and it played find AND it scans/copies without a problem.
I don't get it?
Is it the media, the burner (in the PC) or the duplicator's read drive as you mentioned? Should I try to update the firmward on both the PC and the duplicator?
Thanks again for the assist.

  • DVD created with Encore won't play on DVD player

    Hello everyone,
I didn't reply to the other topic I posted here, but that problem (I think) is fixed.  It turned out to be a size problem.  I just reencoded the main movie at a lower bitrate and that problem should be resolved.
The final disc image now comes out at about 6.8-7gb out of an 8.5gb dual layer disc.  So I should have plenty of room with no space issues.
However, I am having a new problem that I didn't have before.  I really am feeling a time crunch to finish this project in the next day or two.  Everything is finished.  It looks great.  I built an iso with Adobe Encore and mounted it and tested it in PowerDVD.
Everything was completely flawless.  All the menus, the videos, the animation, everything.
So I go to burn the disc with Imgburn.  I burn it at 2.4x (the slowest my drive will write at).  Anyway, when it is finished it will NOT play on my dvd player.  Actually, I am using a PS3 to test it out but it is the only dvd player I have to use right now.  I have burned many discs with Encore before and they all worked great on my PS3.
So, I have traded one problem for another.  When I posted my previous topic, that disc I burned played on my PS3.  Part of the video was cut off but it played at least.  I can get the disc to play on my computer though.  I don't know if it is reading it as a folder or what.
I have tried redoing the project from scratch twice.  I removed all the assets, started a new project and carefully imported all the menus, videos and subtitles one at a time to be sure I didn't do anything wrong.  I looked for any settings that could be screwing things up but I couldn't find any.  I think I burned three or four discs that have all turned out the same.
Are there any specific settings that I might be missing?  Why would my disc not be playing in my PS3?
Please help me finish this project.

    I am using a PC, Windows 7 64bit.
The burner is an LG WH08LS20.
The media is Verbatim DataLifePlus Inkjet Printable DVD+R DL discs.
The problem is I have created many, many discs using Encore that have played perfectly fine on my PS3.  In fact, just a couple days ago when I created the last topic I created a dvd that played fine on my PS3.  It had problems with cutting off parts of the video like I said, but at least it played.
I don't think I am doing anything different in the creation of these discs now.  I am completely stumped.
When I put the disc in my ps3 nothing happens.  The dvd doesn't load automatically.  And there is no option under "video" to select it.
Do you have any ideas that could help me fix this problem?

  • Poor Video Quality on DVD Created by Encore

I am using Premiere Pro CS6 to edit video shot in 1280 x 720. I've linked the sequences from Premiere to Encore and created the DVD in Encore. I did not run the sequences through Media Encoder first but, rather, let Encore handle the transcoding and compression.
The video when viewed in Premier looks great. The video when previewed in Encore looks great. But the quality of the video when burned to a DVD is lousy. I believe that the video on the DVD is only standard definition, but still the text is blurry and the images are fussy and jagged, more than I expected. Is there something else I should be doing in Premiere or Encore to ensure a higher quality DVD?
    Thanks,
    Dan

Well, I thought I followed the advice I was given pretty closely but I am still having a problem. I volunteered to shoot video for a Special Olympics and was hoping to have already delivered the final video, so any help you might yet be able to offer would be appreciated.
For testing purposes I exported just 3 Sequences from Premiere into Media Encoder (total video length was less than 50 minutes) , transcoded them, and them brought them into an Encore project, but the resulting DVD is still of very poor quality. The video is noticeably blurry and a bit jumpy, and the text is also blurry.
I am viewing the DVD on a 42 inch LED TV.  If I view the Media Encoded .m2v files directly from the computer (i.e., not using the DVD) on a large LED monitor they look pretty sharp.  This leads me to suspect the somehow I am not using Encore correctly.
I will ultimately split the video in two, using 2 DVDs for different segments, so that the total across the 2 DVD is the original 100 minutes.
    Here are my specs:
    Original Assets
The original video was shot in 1280 x 720p.
My sequence timelines in Premiere were also 1280 x 720p
All lower thirds text was created in Photoshop at 1280 x 720
    Media Encoder
All the video was exported directly from Premiere
    Format: MPEG-2 DVD
    Codec MainConcept MPEG Video
Quality (as automatically set by the slider) defaulted at 4.0
    TV Standard: NTSC

    Bitrate: VBR 2 Pass
    Minimum: 4
    Target: 6
    Maximum: 8
GOP M Frames: 3 (default, I assume since I did not change it)
GOP N Frames: 12 (again, default, I assume)
Encore (all default settings as far as I know)
Only 2.1GB of a 4.7GB DVD was used
I burned directly to a DVD disk
    Project Settings:

    Codec: MPEG-2
    Dimensions: 720x480

  • DVD created with Encore won't play on Mac

    Hey,
I recently created a DVD with Encore. Everything went perfect, the DVD played flawless on a standalone player and with Power DVD and Windows Media Player on a Windows PC.
But now a client reported, that the DVD does not play on a MAC using Apple's DVD player.
We rechecked it and the same error occured.
The Popup says that the Copy protection of the dvd could not be veryfied.
I burned it using a regular DVD Burner, so there can not be any copy protection, right?
What can I do, so my future DVDs will play everywhere?
    regards,
    Can

    >can not be any copy protection, right?
That is correct, you may not burn a DVD with copy protection

What brand of blank disc, and what burn speed?
Some people "scoff" at the idea, but others here advise to use one of a few brands of blank disc... and to burn at the slowest possible speed setting so the "laser holes" made during the burn process are well shaped
What I always do is create an ISO out of Encore and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)

  • Slightly OT...involves exporting QT to iDVD and duplicating DVD

    Hi all,
This is slightly OT, but I have been unable to get any info elsewhere, and this is probably something FCE users do a lot.
I am having an issue duplicating DVDs.I successfully created a DVD in iDVD from a QT export from FCE. Using disk utility, I am able to create a .dmg image, but have been unable to duplicate using the .dmg image. ( Have followed the disk utility help exactly). There is some talk about a problem with the (optiarc) drives in the MacPro, but nothing specific.
Has anyone run into the same issue or any suggestions?

Did you Save as Disk Image in iDVD, or did you burn a real DVD and then use Disk Utility to create a .dmg? It sounds like you did the latter. You don't want to create a .dmg file.
Go back to iDVD and do Save as Disk Image. Once you have the image file you can use Disk Utility to burn additional DVDs. You will get a .img file.
Or, if you're determined to go the DVD -> Disk Uility method, when you create the image file, be sure to select Image Format > DVD/CD Master and Encryption > None. You'll get a .cdr file that you can burn to additional DVDs. But I prefer going the iDVD Save as Disk Image route in the first place.

  • Dvd production in encore

Anyone experienced dvds produced in encore 'freezing' on some dvd players?

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

  • What do we do to burn DVD video?  Encore is not in CC.

What to we use or do to create DVD videos? Encore is not in the Creative Cloud. Premier Pro does not seem to work for this and I don't know where to go to accomplish this task. I have been looking for hours.

This is the link for info re using Encore CS6 with CC, updated for CC 2014 and the cloud desktop install.

It has links for getting the library (which is not installed with Encore) and a workflow with CC versions.

  • DVDs created in Elements 8 do not work on standalone players

    Hi,
I've been using Elements 7 on Windows 7 before Elements 8 was released.
The source of video is a SD HDD-camcorder and for all the projects I created 4.7 gb dvd-folders, then using a seperate dvd-writing software to burn to discs.
Now since Elements 7 wasn't officially supported I upgraded to Elements 8, but the problem is that the dvds created - although same workflow, do not work on standalone dvd players.
Now, the source is the same, I've tried diffrent dvd-media (dvd+r, dvd-r) and diffrent software for writing dvds, and i've tried four diffrent dvd players and only one player is able to playback the elements 8 dvds.
The dvds are of the type Autoplay-dvd.
I assume given these combinations i've tried - the process of compiling a dvd has changed in Elements 8 as compared to Elements 7 which then outputs less compatible dvd-folders.
Googling around on the term "Opendvd" i found a concept of DVD-V and DVD-R and a knowledge base article on Microsoft hinted that these are diffrent modes of dvd-video or something and I'm wondering if this might be the reason - regardless of it, i've no idea how to fix it so i really need help on solving this issue,
    hope somebody can help.

Okay, I took an even more systematic approach to this problem yesterday,
here's what i did (all burning done in cdburnxp),
    1. using a dvd+rw disc i burned an older dvd-folder which i knew worked - worked fine in player, this was just to confirm that the player could indeed play back dvd+rw/media.
    2. using the same disc i burned a dvd-folder which was created in elements7 - it worked.
    3. using the same disc i encoded a project created in elements 7 loaded in elements 8 - it worked
    4. using the same disc - i tried once again tried to create a new project added one old video file too see if there might be something wrong with the source video.
At this point i also did some research using the Get Media Info option in premiere, and the framerate for the same file was reported as 29,97 and 25 depending on where on the harddrive i tested it - might be because premiere adds some metadata to it.
    5. using the same disc - i reencoded an elements 8 project which didn't work on standalone players, burned the dvd folder - it worked
At this point i was thinking, okay, maybe the Media I did use orignally wasn't compatible, so i gave it another shot in #6 and #7.
    6. Using a dvd-r i burned the image from step #5 -burned at 16x - it worked.
    7. Using a dvd+r I burned the image from step #5 - burned at 16x - it also worked!
Now the confusion is complete for my part - and I can not find any conclusive reason for the misbehaviour orignally reported.
Seems like either Premiere Elements or the media was having a bad hair day when I originally reported this problem.

  • DVD menu in Encore from DVD markers in timeline

How can I use the DVD markers on the timeline in Premiere Pro (thus also in Encore) to build a DVD menu in Encore. In premiere pro 2 where the DVD authoring was included the DVD markers automatically presented themselves as a DVD menu.

I edit most Projects into "scenes" or "chapters," on separate Sequences. In Encore, I usually have one En Timeline per Sequence, or Chapter. However, one CAN have one long Timeline, where the Chapters are deliniated via Markers.
When you say "I cannot get more than one scene in the menu." I am not sure that I am following you. You should be able to have 16, or 32 (depends on the Aspect Ratio of the Menu) Buttons, per Menu (total Buttons), and each linked to a Chapter in your Encore Timeline. What exactly is happening, when you try to link your Buttons to the Chapters?
Good luck, and let us know a bit more, as I do not think that you will need to re-do your Project in PrPro, or probably not even in Encore.

  • Will dvd created in idvd 4 transfer to idvd6????

I am currently using iphoto/imovie/idvd 4/ thinking of going to ilife 6 (also I am on 10.3.9 - thinking of tiger)....what benefits will I see or will I just encounter a bunch of problems...like those posted.
Currrently everything is working fine but wanted to get some extra features from iphoto/imovie/idvd. I don't want to lose my pictures or movies or need to recreate everything.
Will my dvds created and still working on in idvd 4 transfer to idvd 6????
    Please advice.
    thanks,

I would NOT trust any previous project to open
right in iDVD 6. My only iDVD 5 project was a
disaster when opened in iDVD 6. I was finished with
it so it didn't matter. That said, all three of these
apps are worth the money over 4. But install Tiger
first and get to 10.4.4 before installing iLife '06.
I would do an Archive & Install of Tiger and download
and run the 10.4.4 Combo updater (not Software
Update). There's something good about that process.
    It's big at 120MB:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate104
    4combo.html
Are you saying all my finished projects I made in idvd 4 will not open in 6???

  • Can I download images from a DVD created with a newer version of iPhoto?

Hi, my first discussion forum! Why can't I download image files from a DVD created on my mother's computer(iMac G4 with Mac OS 10.4.11)?. She's running iPhoto6 and I'm running iPhoto5. Are'n't they compatible? The disc loads up OK then says at the bottom of iPhoto page "No Photos". Have tried with several disks. Many Thanks for yr help anyone.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
No, iPhoto 5 can't read a library or DVD created in iPhoto 6, because the structure of the libraries are much different.
Your Mac should be able to read the DVD. Use the Finder to copy the contents of the disc to your Desktop. Then from iPhoto, you can File > Import to library the Originals folder that you copied from the DVD. If your mom did lots of photo editing, you could also import the Modified folder. However, there is no way for you to re-link the edits to their originals. You will not be able to access her keywords, titles, ratings, and other iPhoto organizational metadata.
    Regards.

  • I-DVD created DVD will not play back on i-Mac 27"

The i-DVD Tutorial says "When you have burned your DVD, you will have your own DVD that can be played in any DVD Player or any DVD-EQUIPPED COMPUTER"
Unfortunately I do not find this to be so, and I would like to know why, please. The DVD created is in UDF form. It plays back perfectly in my Liteon Player via the TV. It will play on my Windows PC via either WMP or Nero, BUT IT WILL NOT PLAY on my i-Mac, neither by Quick Time nor DVD Player. I get the message "not in a form recognised." Goodness! It was created on the i-Mac, via i-DVD !!
All my software is up-to-date of course.
    Can anyone tell me WHY?

There are a variety of reasons why a burned DVD will not be recognized by a DVD player.
I'm interested to hear you say that you burned the disk with iDVD and yet the disk does not playback on the same computer that created the disk. If you put a standard purchased video DVD into the computer does it playback? If it does not then I would focus your attention on the Computer / DVD drive itself and not iDVD.
    Things to try:
1.) Make sure the DVD disks you are using are compatible with your computer's optical drive. If you use a disk that is not supported by your computer's SuperDrive you may get inconsistent burn results. You can find out what types and speeds of disks your computer supports by going here and looking for the "SuperDrive" section under your model of computer: http://support.apple.com/specs/
2.) Older drives / players may not be able to read newer types of burnable media. Use DVD-R disks that list a lower speed. Burnable media comes with numbering on the original packaging that indicates the speed of the disk (Usually 1x,2x,3x, etc.). The lower the number the more compatible the disk will be with more DVD players.
3.) Try different brands of media. I personally try to stick with media made by companies with a long history of making recordable media.
4.) Lower the burn speed in iDVD:
iDVD > Preferences > Advanced > Preferred DVD Burning Speed
-- The lower the number you choose the more compatible the resulting disk will be with more DVD players. It will also increase the amount of time it takes to burn the disk.
    Hope that helps

I used iDVD to create an IMG file
You created the video DVD, the IMG file, with iDVD and just burned it with Disk Utility. As Klaus1 pointed out Disk Utility can't create video DVDs.

  • LSO: Duplicated Records Created For Each Person During Booking For Course

    Dear All,
Since 2 months ago, I've been hitting the following issue.
When I book an employee to a course through ESS, duplicated course participation records are created in the system.
The duplicated records are having different booking priorities.
And I aware that, this happened to the course which has workflow tagged to it.
Sometimes, instead of having duplicated records created, it hit dump with the following message:
"The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records."
Does anyone know what problem is this?
    Thanks.

Did you solve this problem, Im facing the same problem.

  • Why Adobe will never create an Encore CC version ?

    Hi,
Adobe has stopped any improvement of Encore for because the use of physical medias is decreasing because everybody watch movies on iPad or iPhone..
This is a bad reason, or a crazy reason : the 4K movies and camcorders are now available and, as I know PP CC is able to work with this size.
It is crazy to watch 4K movies on an iPad connected to Cloud. The best is to watch from a physical media, so WE STILL NEED ENCORE and an ENCORE CC release.
As I know, 100 GB disks might be available.

I know that it is possible tu use Encore CS 6 with Pp CC, but this
solution is not very easy and logic.
It is necessary to do the following loop :
    - 1) export PP CC sequences to AME CC,
    - 2) encode sequences,
    - 3) import encoded sequences in Encore CS6,
    - 4) edit the Encore project,
    - 5) check the project before creating disk,
    - 6) go back to PP CC in case of mistakes,
    - 7) go back to #1.
And my experience showed me that some points must be modified or
corrected before creating the final disk.
This is the beginning of a second loop which is time consumming (often
several days depending of the PP sequences length).
With the dynamic link (PP CS6 + Encore CS6) it was possible to encode
after the completion of Encore project.
Who has never experienced this loop ?
