Duplicating Text Boxes in Adobe 9

I hope someone can help.  In Adobe 8 I use to be able to create a text box with text then duplicate it on as many pages as I selected.  How do I do this in version 9?

It is able to be done, but it is much more complicated.  I switched from Adobe 7 where it was a simple right click of the text box to duplicate.  Now you need to do the following:
Click Forms
         ---> Add or Edit Fields
Click "No" when it asks if you want to let Acrobat detect the form fields.
Then right click on you document and select "Text Field".  Draw your text box like normal.  You can then right click on your text box and duplicate like you used to be able to.  When you are done, you click the "Close Form Editing" button in the upper right hand corner.  To alter your text boxes, you go back to Forms---> Add or Edit Fields.
I don't like how this has been changed, and if anyone knows of a simpler way of doing, I would like to know too.
Adobe, you made some terrible changes to your software.

  • Why can't I select Text box in Adobe XI?

I am SO frustrated. I can't do something so simple as select a text box in Adobe XI. Whenever I try, all it does is edit the text. I have tried clicking all over in different spots of the object with the select object tool and all it will ever do is edit.

If it is going to edit text, then you have the edit text tool and not the select object tool. However, these have changed in functionality between versions. I just checked AA XI and if you select the edit text and images under the content editing tools, you can select a text box and move it around. I think this is what you wanted. You have to move the cursor to the edge of the box to move it.

  • How do I change the font size and color in a text box in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (ctrl e does not work)?

I need to mark up scanned pdf documents with text box comments. I can insert the text box and type text but I cannot change the font or color. When I press Crtl E, no tool bar appears in the menu bar. What does appear in the menu bar is "No current selection". Please advise.

I am already doing that: creating the text box, typing the text, selecting the text i.e. highlighting the text. This morning, for a scant minute, the properties tool bar appeared and I was able to refine the text in a text box. Then it disappeared never to be activated again this morning.
I work half of my weekly hours at this client office and I only have this problem on their pc and adobe software (version 9 pro). When I am home, my laptop and the adobe software (version 10 pro) is fine. I can create the text boxes and refine the format at will with no issues. Could it be a software version and/or update issue? Thanks for any assistance.

  • How do I place a free-form text box in Adobe Pro XI?

I am working in Adobe Pro XI, and am creating a form. The software auto-formats the location of text boxes and fields. Is there a way to manually place the location of this field?

Update - This is using FormCentral which opened from Adobe XI Pro.

  • Set default width for text box in Adobe Acrobat X

    Hello!
I am using the textbox tool to add comments to a document. (not the Typewriter, but the Textbox, since that has more flexibility for formatting the text).
I know how to set the default proprties for text size, color, background color, etc.
Cannot figure out however to to set the default width. Every time I try to add a new textbox, it defaults to about 1 or 2 inches wide, so the text wraps around and around, and then I have to resize the box when I am done.
Is there a way to change the default width?
    Thanks!

    Hi, Amonra
I drew a box I like, and select, and then, Ctrl+C, and then Ctrl+V.
And move the pasted box where to need, and resize the length. At least I get same width boxes.
I don't know how to default it.
I hope it may help you.

  • Text box in adobe form

    Hello All,
when i am dragging a field from data to layout.
i am getting the caption and input field.
for eg: if drag and drop name field to layout....then it is displaying as 'NAME  ..............'
(actaully it is showing a box, but i cant show here , so i typed dots).
but i dont want 'NAME' should appear on layout, i want only the content (for eg if NAME = 'AMAR').
i want only AMAR to be displayed not NAME AMAR.
can any one help me how to achieve this.
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards,
    Amarender Reddy B.

    Hello Amar,
When you drag data fields to your layout , you will get caption. It is the standard functionality for PDF forms.
You can double click on the caption which comes on layout. select the caption text and delete it. Drag the centre divider.
    alternatively
    Go to Pallets> Object>field-->captions
Just remove the text from the caption box and your job is done.
You can set the appearence as none for better view of the field.
    Hope it helps you.

  • How justify margins in text box in Adobe Elements?

The Text options appear to be: justify to the right, justify to the left & center.  How can I justify left and right?

As far as i know there are only two other options in photoshop elements for justification of text:
(both of which are only done with the below keyboard shortcuts and the text selected/highlighted)
                                                                                    windows                                       mac
Justify paragraph, left aligns last line
    Control + Shift + J
    Command + Shift + J
    Justify paragraph, justifies all
    Control + Shift + F
    Command + Shift + F
As this is the photoshop forum you might ask over on the photoshop elements forum:

What version of photoshop elements are you using?

  • Scrollable Text Box

I've created a fixed/pinned box on my site.. I'd like to create a scrollable text box inside that box.. where the user can scroll within that box and not have to scroll down the entire browser. Is this possible? If not, is there a html way to achieve this? I have no coding experience... If this is possible using coding, can one of you developers please give me the instructions on how to achieve this? Thank you very much in advance!
I forgot to add that I'd like to use a custom icon to scroll down the text box.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro text box not printing and is hidden under box highlight.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.13.  I am completing a form with text box throughout the document. I can no get the text box to printing and the text is hidden under box highlight.  I have tried printing with the print feature 'Comments & Forms/ Document and Markups' with no luck.

It's doing that because you have field highlighting enabled. YOu can either turn it off or make the field read-only (if it's only used for display and not entry).

  • I am pulling my hair out! I am using adobe indesign and just want to make a text box 'autofit text' as I change fonts a lot and want the font to automatically re-size as I change it. help help help please - I have latest version of indesign - thanks

I am pulling my hair out! I am using adobe indesign and just want to make a text box 'autofit text' as I change fonts a lot and want the font to automatically re-size as I change it.
Is it not possible to create a text box, fill it with dynamic (data driven) text, but make the font size either scale up or down automatically, so that the entire text box is filled? This is a feature in PrintShop Mail Pro called COPY FIT. but no such feature in Indesign??
help help help please - I have latest version of indesign - thanks, DJ

lol... it seems to work, but I have another huge problem!
Apparently .CSV files cannot contain page breaks in the data! The data I am trying to merge is a 'letter', with paragraphs, line breaks, etc.,
But, after data merging, it ignores page breaks and only merges the first paragraph of each letter. (sigh)
Solution? Hopefully, an EASY solution. lol as we have thousands of records.
Is there a third party indesign plugin that will allow .xml, or .xls data merge import??
    Thx,
    DJ

  • How can I type on a PDF file? Do I need a specific version of Adobe to enter a text box?

I would rather type my information onto the page rather than hand write it and I don't have access to a type writer. How can I type my info onto the application?? Please help!

With Adobe Reader XI, you can add text comments and notes, as well as adding new text boxes using the Comment pane shown below:
However, if you actually need to edit text, you'll need to purchase Acrobat XI from Adobe.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard Text Box Enter Space is Removed -- Help

Got a new computer at work with Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard and it is taking some getting use to (came from Acrobat 7 Professional).
I need some help with  the text box tool.  When I create a text box and use the enter key and click out of the text box the space is removed where I hit enter.  I googled around and if I use cntrl and then hit enter the space will stay there.  How do I get around this so I do not have to hold cntrl everytime.  Plus if I go back into that text box and add another space it removes the space from before so I would have to add the spaces in again.  I hope this is a setting I have messed up.  It is quite annoying and hopefully someone can help me out.
I am on Windows 7 Professional if it matters.

I've reported this as a bug a number of times since Acrobat 9 was released and so far they have refused to fix it in Acrobat 9/10/11. I had never heard of the Ctrl+Enter workaround, so thanks for that.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - editing font properties in a text box

When I insert a text box on an existing PDF, initially Acrobat usually allows me to edit the font properties.  Sometimes it does not.  Once I type in the text box, the font properties toolbar becomes locked (i.e., "grayed out") so I can't change font type, size, color justification and other font properties.  If I save the file, close it and then re-open I can edit then the font, at least for a while.  If I have other PDF files open too I usually have to close those other windows.  After some time the font properties again become locked.
Obviously it is incredibly inconvenient to have to close a program and all open files then re-open those files just to change something like the color of a font.  I called Adobe tech support and they told me the fix was to buy Acrobat X.  I don't want to spend more money, I just want the product I already paid for to work properly.
Is there a way for this bug in the software to be corrected?

    ** SOLVED FOR ME **
    Acrobat 9.0 and 9.1 Standard
No v9 properties toolbar access except in last document opened
I don't know if this applies to you but I had a similar problem with documents on our network.
It turns out the documents were being saved as PDF/A or PDF/X format.
I had the users open up Adobe.  Go to Edit>Preferences      Then go to the Documents section and find the "Open in PDF/A" section.  I had them select "Never"  and then the toolbars were no longer greyed out.

  • Does Adobe DC support editing text in a text box?  How?

I was able to edit text in a text box with my Adobe 9.  Adobe DC does not seem to support this.  Can anyone offer any assistance?

    Hi jimj,
Try clicking in the text comment and pressing Command+E (Mac OS) or Ctrl+ E (Windows) to open the Text Box Text Properties dialog box.
To change the properties of the comment box itself, right-click it and choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
    Did that do the trick?
    Best,
    Sara
