Duplication in files

Hi
We have a below scenario
1.Sales orders are created autamatically through Web interface...
and the engineering drawing files are getting attached to the each item of sales order using DMS...
When the orders are created autamatically in system ,we could find some duplication of files happening in DMS CV03n
eg...Sales order A
Items 10,20,30
Each item has one pdf file attached...
item10-PDFfile1
item20-PDF file2
item 30-PDF file3
When the document is created autamatically,
for first item, we can see pdf file1 attached
For 2nd item ,document is created but we can see both pdf file1 and pdf file2..(i.e item 1 file is also attached in the DMS for that sales order)
For 3rd item,DMS document is created but we can see pdf file 1,pdf file 2,pdf file3 all attached for this item....
But when we try to attach file for each item from sales order,it takes only 1 file...(But webmethod creation alone it duplicates the files)
Can u tell us how to avoid the duplication of records for item 2,item 3 etc..Item2 should have PDF file 2 only and item 3 should have pdf file 3only....
As i am new to DMS ,require help in this regard
Regards
sudha

Hi,
I assume that internally you are attaching / checking in these attachements through some BAPI.
Now you must be populating a table( doc_files ) to pass to your BAPI.
So you need to clear/refresh this table for each line item, so that for each new line item only required file is aatached ( and earlier one is cleared ).
I hope I am clear.
Reward points if useful.

  • Duplication of file folders in local file system Navigator

My colleague and I have just noticed that in DIAdem 2010 we have duplication of file folders and network drives in the local file system window of Navigator. In the attached screen dump you can see folders that have duplicated - sometimes more than once as they are shown with full network path and with alloted drive letter (e.g. K&C, Project Info, Proposals 2010, SQEQUELData).
You can also see where our 'N drive' is repeated part way down the folder tree. Needless to say, these are all rubbish.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks, Si.

    Hi Brad,
Regarding not showing a Win Explorer screen dump, you'll have to trust me. I can assure you they are phantom, especially as there would not be a network drive shortcut letter part way through a folder tree structure. I don't know how much it has to do with the DataFinder either as we don't use it (unless it runs automatically in the background).
Here are the answers to your other questions:
Do you have DIAdem / DataFinder running continuously, or do you shut them down from time to time? DIAdem is only run when required - it spends more time shut than open.
How do you have the DataFinder set up-- will it notice file system changes automatically? I haven't set DataFinder up at all so it is exactly as it came out of the factory. I ran a test by adding a new folder and it didn't show up until I hit the refresh button.
Have you tried the <Index Now> button in the DataFinder configuration to force a re-indexing of all Search Areas? I tried this and it made no difference.
    Cheers, Si.

  • Duplication of files when using IFC

When I use the "Import From Camera" plugin for Bridge I get a duplication of jpeg files. They are files with JPE extension and then I get a duplicate with jpe extension. There is only one set of files on the camera card. Using Adobe Bridge and XP. I hence have to go and delete half of them. Any idea what is happening?
    Thanks

As a test I created a folder on my second partition and moved my AVI files to that folder. I then created an alias of that folder and dragged it to my Movies folder. Front Row accesses the folder on the second partition and plays those movies without any problem.
What format are the movies that you can't play from the Movies folder?

  • I have an itunes library on an external drive I want to use on a dool boot computer. How do I set this up without duplication of files

Ok, here goes with the explanation. I am running a Mac Mini mid 2010 with mt iTunes library on an external USB drive. I dual boot the computer into Windows 7. I want to be able to use the same iTunes library in both Operating Systems. I am trying to set this up on the Windows side without accidentily erasing, moving or duplicating any files. In the past when I have tried I have ended up with multiple files. I have an iCloud also but do not want to download any files again. How can I get iTunes on Windows to simply recognise my existing storage and create a library list from what is already there rather than duplicating files?
Update: As soon as I signed in with my iTunes account iCloud picked up my playlist and now lists all my music. Right clicking on the songs give me the choice to download the files, but the files already exist oin my external USB. I simply want iTunes on Windows 7 to point to the existing files.

How is the external drive formatted?

  • I have duplicative song files in my library that are grayed out.  This seems to cause a syncing problem to my ipod or iphone.  How can I clean up this mess?

I chose to let iTunes rearrange my files and it appears to have duplicated them in my computer's drive.  So now I have the same folders/files directly under my D drive (second computer hard drive) and also in the iTunes Music Folder that iTunes created.  Wasn't sure what to do so I did another import and now I have files in my library that are grayed out with the small i symbol in the circle next to them.  I also have the working (bolded) files too.  How can I clean this up?

Is there a way to override the 256kbps "conversion" when uploading to iCloud?
No. All music that is mirrored in the cloud will be AAC@256 Kbps.
    Musicman05 wrote:
Along the same lines, if I "download" a song from my library to my iPhone, then plug my iPhone into my computer and sync the song file from my computer, will the higher quality original file overwrite the 256 one?
No, because with iTunes Match enabled on an iOS device traditional syncing of music via USB is disabled. All music management is done directly on the device.
    Musicman05 wrote:
Also, if I want to syncronize another computer using iTunes match, how can I get the higher quality audio files?  Will I simply have to transport all of them by an exernal hard drive or thumb drive?
You will first have to copy the high-quality audio files to the computer, add them to the iTunes library then enable iTunes Match.

  • Duplication of files

    hi there,
i'm a fairly new mac user, and am getting used to the runnings of the operating system.
i have a folder with all my music files i transferred from my PC and every time i add a song, naturally it's added to the itunes music folder. this means i have a 2 of the same files on my HD, which is like having half the space.
is there a way to avoid this or do i just have to delete the original file everytime i add it to the library? any help is appreciated!
    MacBook2,1   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Personally I don't use iPhoto much. Only to play around with so I often charge or delete albums from there. I tend to keep all my photos in my own folder structure outside of iTunes or any other "cataloging" system. I don't like having programs like iPhoto taking control of my photos and prefer to handle that manually. So I can not offer much help with iPhoto.
As I said, I load stuff into it for fun, to use the screen saver and slide show options, etc. But I consider iPhoto folders and libraries copies and temporary and when I get bored with one or need to free up space, I simply delete the iPhoto libraries. My original photos are safely somewhere else.
I don't mind having iTunes do it because the folder structure makes sense to me and there isn't weird things like edited and original versions to keep track of, so the iTunes folders work well for me to be my "original" copies. Where as I don't feel the same with iPhoto.

  • Single  file is processing multiple times

    Hello All,
    I am working on a File-IDOC Scenario.
I have a strange situation that when I place a .CSV file in the FTP server once and the File adapter is picking it up and when i check the SXI_MONITOR it appears twice or some times thrice and the contents are same in all the messages.
After processing the file it will be deleted by the adapter as per the parameters set in the channel.
Can any one help me out in this?
    Regards
    Hari

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
User who places the file on server assured me that he did not place it twice.
and also the problem was not occured for all the files and only for some files.
In that case will there be any way to check for the duplication of files.
    Best regards

  • Where are download files

I have a new computer running Windows 7. I am using Firefox 6.0.2. The options window shows that Downloads are being saved to a folder called Downloads which has a path "Desktop/[MyName]/Downloads." When I open that path none of the files I have recently downloaded appear. Yet when I click "Ctl-J" they all show up. Where are the downloaded files?

CM12 uses the Content Library to store content. During the installation of the DP role, a drive was specified (or auto was selected). Check the root of the drives for a folder called 'SCCMContentLib'. In here you'll find 3 sub folders that hold the content
and metadata, etc (DataLib, FileLib, PkgLib). You cannot find the files by their regular name as CM renames them to avoid file duplication (single file storage).
There are several blogs that explain how the new content library works... Here's a couple:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2013/10/29/understanding-the-configuration-manager-content-library.aspx
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrdogs/archive/2012/04/16/configmgr-2012-content-library-overview.aspx
The ccmcache folder is for the client agent portion (not the DP role). When a deployment is received by the client, it eventually downloads the content if required...

  • I find I have duplicates, triplicates, quadruples, etc. of all my files.  Why is this happening?

I'm on Mac os X 10.6.8   In Text files I have duplication of files going on, both text and photos.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    Any change on reboot?

  • Ipod mini - Mac - Windows - FILES

    Hi,
Does anyone know if files duplicate when using the ipod mini as a hard-drive?
For example, when saving a file (eg. word file) on the ipod from a Mac computer, will the file appear as duplicated when connecting the ipod to a Windows computer? (It doesn't duplicate on Mac however.)
I have been using this USB hard drive recently and when I saved files on it from a Mac computer, the files appeared duplicated when I saw it in Windows explorer.
Unfortunately, I made the mistake of deleting all the duplicated files (when using the Windows computer) only to find out all remaining files could no longer open; and this was not my USB.
I am considering purchasing the ipod mini (or shuffle). Could you tell me if I would expect this duplication of files (seen when connceted to a Windows computer) to occur when using the ipod as a hard drive? And if it does occur, how may I get around this issue?
    Thanks for your help.
    Alan.

Are the 'duplicate' files the exact same size? I'm wondering if they're some sort of 'information' file put on it by the MAC that the MAC file explorer automatically hides, but Windows doesn't.
Having said that, you'll have to format your mini on a PC to make sure both types of computers 'see' it . . . but other than the hassle of carrying around the cord, I can't see any other issues.
    Good luck!

  • User portal file browsing

So I'm feeling out my user portal and I want a way for my people to download software.  I had previously set up a Sharepoint library and made an iFrame for users to view it on.  Works great in that the sharepoint frame recognizes their AD account so no additional login.  I have the issue of duplication of files.  I already have a share with all my software neatly organized and to duplicate this on a sharepoint library seems a waste.
I could just list all my software and then link each name to the file but that seems inefficient especially since I'll update software regularly.  Not to mention I want to do the same thing with some
So can anyone suggest a way for a normal user to browse the available folder/file structure and download said files?

  • Starting to get corrupted files

Since I upgraded to Lightroom 4 last week, I've had two occasions where Windows 7 operating system at boot tells me I have corrupt files on the separate 2TB drive I use to store Lightroom catalog and photos on.  One difference between my LR3 vs LR4 settings was that I turned on the option to write XMP data to files per advice from Adobe evangelist that this is a better backup strategy in case LR catalog gets corrupt.  Wondering whether the LR 4 background process to write out XMP is causing the problem.
It might be a self inflicted wound, as last night, I was importing iPad screenshot PNG files into Bridge, batch renaming them and then exporting them to hard drive as JPG (when is Lightroom going to support PNG?) and synchronizing that folder in LR4 so that I can view in LR4. Maybe the fact that I have LR4 and Bridge open at the same time and doing some operations corrupted them?  LR4 got stuck at 1% progress in creating previews, so left the computer on overnight and when I come back in morning, black screen of death. When reboot, says I have to check that drive and finds lots of corrupt record segments. Never had this problem with LR3 and Bridge open at same time before LR4 and turning on the option to write XMP data to files.

I am experiencing reports of corrupted files as well!!! First report of corrupted files came the day after I installed Lightroom 4. No problems while I was using Ligthroom 3. So far, it seems to only occur with JPG-files.
I have about 10 000 photos stored on a Windows Home Server, both JPG and RAW files. About one day after I had installed and started using Lightroom 4, the WHS server began to complain about "file conflicts" (This is actually the first time I have experienced this spesific error on the server). I then found that the reason was that a lot of JPG-files had been locked and then never unlocked again. I am a developer myself, and many years ago I had some experience of this problem due to some programs that failed to close the files. Whatever the reason was this time, it was making it impossible for the WHS server to duplicate these files to a second hard drive (on WHS, duplication of files is done by a service. And if this service is unable to duplicate a file in 24 hours, it may report "file conflicts"). First strange thing about this was that it seemed to happen only with JGP files, and with files shot many years ago. It have been many years since I made any changes to those photos. To make the locks go away, I restarted the server. This seemed to resolve the problem with the locks. My first thought was that one of the disks on the server was about to fail, but after my next experiences I am beginning to think that’s not the problem…
For a few days I did not use Lightroom, and in this period no problems was reported by the server. But then, after using Lightroom 4 again a few hours, the same problem occurs. I now started to do some more investigation. Using Event Viewer on the WHS, I found that WHS was reporting both file lock problems and some file corruptions, and pointed me to some specific JPG files. Checking the files, I found that the files had been changed the same day I installed and used Lightroom 4 for the first time. After some more checking I found some corrupt JPG files, as well. This was yesterday, and since then, I have not dared to use Lightroom 4.
Actually I think all JPG files I have browsed using Lightroom 4, has been modified. But only some of them became "locked" or corrupted. Checking the RAW files, could not find that they have not been touched. I store a lot of data on my WHS server and many types of files. But corruption has only been a problem with the JGP files…
If I used file explorer to preview the corrupted files, I still got a preview of some of them. And it was easy to see they were corrupted. Actually it looked like a number of photos have been merged together like a mosaic. Trying to open one of the corrupted files using Photoshop CS5, ended with a message saying it was impossible to read the file.
For now I am not able to do more testing of this problem, but I am planning to copy all the photos to an external USB disk, and then play around with it using Lightroom 4, to see if problem shows up again.
    Some info about my computers:
I am using Windows 7 x64 on a Dell M6400 laptop with Lightroom 4 x64. The catalog resides on this laptop.
My WHS Server is of the first version released by Microsoft (not the 2011 version), but with all updates installed. All photos, both the JPG and the RAW files reside on a share on the WHS Server. I have been using this WHS server for many years now, and with both Lightroom 2 and Lightroom 3 before the upgrade to Lightroom 4. During this time I have experienced one disk crash, but thanks to the file duplication no data was lost. The server is currently equipped with three physical disks; one 1.5TB, one 650 GB and one 2 TB.
Most of my JPG files are shot with a Canon IXUS 400 (many years ago). My RAW files are all shot with a Canon 5D Mk2, but those seem to be untouched.
I will report back as soon I have more information.

  • Copying GB Sampler Files/Instruments to new Mac

Any issues to just copy my entire Garage Band Sampler File folder (Sampler Files and Sampler Instruments) from my old Mac to my new Mac? I am concerned about the duplication of files. Will that be a problem?

If you copy the entire folder over to the other Mac, you will replace the folder that's there. Not a good idea if that folder contains additional stuff that you want to keep. If you copy the folder content into the respective folder on the other Mac, you will be prompted whether you want to replace the items with the same names or not. In both cases, there won't be any duplicates afterwards.

  • ITunes Media Folder Renameable on External Drive (mac)

I have a 1TB collection of music in a folder on an external drive within a folder that is NOT called iTunes Media, but which until now had behaved as if it were.
I just switched to a clone of my old 1TB drive on a 1.5TB drive. After 11 hours of locating my 157000 tracks, I was able to find and use every track. However, when I added a new track, apparently I lost the ability to add new music tracks within the Music folder. Instead, a new iTunes Media folder was created within the folder which SHOULD have been called iTunes Media.
In the (new) iTunes Media folder there are a few folders containing the music I added after the switch. In the Music folder (below, but higher hierarchy) there is 1TB of music, which means it cannot be copied into the (new) iTunes Media file on the 1.5TB drive (not enough space).
Even though it would entail 100+ hours of new clone-backup time, the most logical solution would be to discard the embedded iTunes Media folder, rename the top-level folder iTunes Media, then let iTunes relocate the tracks again (over another 11 hours) and reload the few tracks loaded since the switch.
However I do not know if iTunes will allow this to work, and if so, what needs to be done in order to make it work.
Can the top-level folder be renamed? Do I need to untick and tick the Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized button?
    Thanks
    Mac OSX 10.6.8, iTunes 11.4

I am getting a bit lost on what was done and exactly why you did it that way.  It looks to me like you use iTunes with standard preferences settings and you didn't so much move your media folder to the external drive as your whole iTunes library (everything in the top level folder including all the media files).  This should have been done simply by copying the iTunes folder from the old drive to the new one, renaming the AllMyiTunesMusic folder if you so desire, then starting iTunes while holding down the option/alt key and selecting that folder as the iTunes library to now start using.  Apart from the copy time when you could go away and drink a pot of coffee the actual labor time would be about 2 minutes.  I think you must have done something different which has kind of messed up your library and resulted in duplication of files.  Some of those folders such as Movies and the neighboring Music folder should be in the media folder, but don't move things about in Finder or iTunes may lose track of them and things will get worse.  If you can go back and do things properly then I recommend you do so, otherwise we can see what we can work with here.

  • Laptop died. Had backup of ITunes Media Folder but now cant restore music to Ipod after ios5 upgrade!

Hi guys.  My laptop died a week ago and I managed to get the Itunes Media Folder copied off hard drive before it completely died.  Since then, loaded Itunes on my main PC for first time (ios5), authorised it and then pointed iTunes at the Itunes Media Folder.  Since trying to sync my Ipod Touch (which effectively had to be overwritten) I've noticed that most of my music on the iPod Touch is Greyed out.  Majority of the music was from Amazon and purchased CD's imported to Itunes.  All plays OK on iTunes but Ipod wont play 'em.
Any ideas guys?  Tried syncing about 8 times now.  Real pain in the bum!
