Duplication of items in iphoto

After I created an album(s) the photo's are still in the photo section. Is there a way that I can remove the photo's from the photo section and they remain in the album(s), it would appear that this is a duplication>

if like me you transferred photos from a memory card more than once, you might find that your iphoto library contains more than one copy of a particular picture. i copied over 500 photos from a trip to Florida into iphoto twice. i bought an app from the app store called Duplifinder. it quickly found all multiple copies of my photos and allowed me to move them to iphoto trash. there i could review them and decide if i wanted to remove them permanently.

My question is .... Ive just moved from Australia to London & I am unable to order items Ive made in iphoto & have them sent to London.
Previousely ,living in AustraliaI had no problem & Ive ordered items from iphoto that Ive created here in Lonond & had them sent back to Australia no problem.
But I just cannot create here in London & then have them sent here,even if I change the credit card details ....
Does anyone know how to tackle this ?

Duplication of Photos between iPhoto & Aperture / Memory Issues

Is there a way for iPhoto & Aperture to share the same photos, so that there is not a duplication of photos and too greatly reduce memory space for those of us with large libraries????

iPhoto only imports the files from your card, in exactly the same condition as they exist on the card. It does not duplicate. It does not reduce quality or lose pixels. Check your camera's manual. The most likely cause of the duplication is that your camera gives you a simultaneous RAW and jpeg (or tiff) file for each photo you shoot. Your camera probably has a control where you can turn this feature off.
You can check your camera card. Click on the Finder's icon in the dock. Your card should be listed as an external drive in the left column of the Finder window, somewhere below your Macintosh HD. Set the Finder window to column view and click on your card to display its contents. My bet is that you will see the duplication there, before you ever import to your library. Click on a file to see its information in the next column; you can check the pixel dimensions if they are reported there with the Preview.
I import from a card reader as well. You can ignore the initial iPhoto "Importing" screen and click back on Library in the Source Pane. Choose File > Import to Library, then navigate to the camera card. You can preview the files on the card, select only the ones you wish to import, and import directly into the iPhoto library. This gives you complete control over your imports and prevents you from importing duplicates.

Cannot purchase items in iPhoto 9.6

I have iPhoto 9.6 and i'm running Yosimite.
The "buy" button is greyed out and will not submit my item.
all accounts are up to date. i've rebuilt my database.

How do I sync all other items when iPhoto library offline?

I have an iPhoto library which is on an external drive and not always connected to my MacBook Air. Previous to iOS 5.x and the related iTunes 10.5.x, I am fairly certain that I was able to perform a full sync to the iPhone (songs, apps, podcasts, videos) and it would simply ignore the fact that my iPhoto library was not present and skip it. Essentially all photos would be retained on the phone and everything else available would sync.
It appears that now when the iPhoto library is not available I receive a visual warning (exclamation symbol next to iPhone) and the sync completes without synchronizing podcasts. Apps however are synchronized.
Is there a way to sync all items when the iPhoto library is unavailable?

Did you try "unsyncing" all of your songs from the iPad - which will remove them, and then sync them all back to the device?

AVI items in iPhoto do not load in iMovie

Hi...I'm having trouble working with two large .AVI items. They are saved in iPhoto but do not show up in the Event Library of iPhoto videos when I open iMovie. Could this be because they are too large (29 and 81 MB respectively)?
I converted these files from a DVD using "Hand Brake" and saved them to Desktop before dragging and dropping them into iPhoto. They are titled MOV1.AVI and MOV2.AVI. I have plenty of other .AVI items in other iPhoto folders that load just fine in the iMovie Event Library of iPhoto videos.
Anyone have any ideas?

AVI is a "file container format" -- NOT A COMPRESSION FORMAT! So the question becomes, what compression formats did to put into the AVI file. If you look closely, you will note the only AVI codec options available are:
MPEG-4/MP3
MPEG-4/AC3
AVC/H.264/MP3
AVC/H.264/AC3
iMovie '08 performs its editing based on the compression format contained in the file and not its extension or container type. iMovie '08 will import and edit MPEG4/AAC or H.264/AAC files in an MOV, MP4, or M4V file container but it will not accept video clips containing either MP3 or AC3 audio. Reconvert your files in HandBrake using the iPod or TV preset which is compatible with iMovie '08.

How do you select multiple items in iPhoto?

I insert my sd card into my mac and iphoto shows every single pictures in it. However, I just want to import a few different pictures but the only options were either select one or import all. I am pretty sure there is a way to select more than 1 picture

Hold down the Shift key when selecting more than one image.

Viewing Aperture library items in iPhoto as workflow help

I wanted to view my Aperture library jpegs in iPhoto without opening Aperture. The reason for this is to use iPhoto to review my pictures and to open in an external editor from iPhoto. We use Fireworks in designing web sites and newsletters. I did not want to save to another folder which takes up space. The workflow requires the use of Fireworks, crop out what we need from or graphics/pictures and place in the final work for Dreamweaver.
I opened the Aperture library content and dragged the image folders to iPhoto. It did take the pictures and gave a notice for the files that were not imported. These were jpeg files, not the raw. Advantage is that the Aperture library is now the one resource for our workflow. I can switch from FireWorks to Photoshop when needed. We did not try this with the Raw files, but I suppose that could be done too. Opening the raw in PS would be helpful to some workflows.
I thought this was a good tip. It has saved us quite a bit of time and is easy to use.

I'm not sure I understand. If you're using iPhoto to review and edit jpg files you've pretty much nuked any reason to use Aperture at all. It also means that edited copies of your images are not tracked as versions and aren't backed up in the vault. Can you explain a little more what your workflow is?
I'm do not want versions tracked in Aperture in this case. I want samples of textures or parts of image available for use in designing other graphics. We are in the graphics studio and want to open files in FireWorks, crop/marque out parts and paste to another FireWorks file. I have iPhoto set up to open externally in Fireworks. Think of it as needing 'clip art' out of picture in the library.
What we are doing is designing banners for web sites and newsletters. I might want a horizon/sunset only as a background to blend into the banner. I have iPhoto open already along with Fireworks and Dreamweaver. No need to have Aperture or any other program open now. iPhoto has the jpegs..... click to open in FireWorks, marque, copy and past the parts I want into the banner design.
Before that I had to have a resource folder of jpegs. The Aperture library can now store jpegs and access them from iPhoto. I have to hunt quickly through hundreds of image we have store for each texture and different subjects for these banner creations.
Hope this helps. We just need small parts of any given image. This was a good solution. I'm sure there are others too.

How to order more than 1 item from iphoto?

I just created 3 calendars and 3 photobooks and want to order all of them but it seems like I have to order them one by one and also pay for the shipment separately = 6 times.. is there anyway I could make ONE order for all my items at the same time?

SC Item duplication when item catalog is editted

Hi Experts,
We have a new scenario implementation for procurement of services from CATALOG. We use third party catalog system called SIMENO.
We go to the catalog and add the data in the in it and get it to my SC. Now the new thing is that we can edit this catalog item and we have provided a new keyboard icon for that. We click on this icon and edit the service. Now the problem starts as the OCI does not understand that it is an update and it inserts one more line item in the SC. This creates 2 services in the SC now.
Has anybody faced such an issue?? Is there any note available to resolve this issue??

I am working with Rahul on the same issue and ill be able to explain more on this. The business requirement is such that they want only one line item in the SC and not any duplicate.
Eg: If I procure a service from XX Vendor and get it in my SC. I feel that i need to change the vendor to YY. So I click on the edit button and change the vendor to YY and get it back to the SC. I now see two line items in the SC 1 is from XX vendor and the other is from YY vendor. But the client wants the see only one line item in the SC with YY vendor.
Catching in the BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER badi will not work because when the SC is on hold it will only display the changed item and not the duplicate item so we dont have anything to compare with.
This issue is caused by the standard OCI functionality which thinks that it is an INSERT and adds another line item. We are really stuck out here and require your help.

Restricting Duplication in Item Code Field

Dear Experts,
I am designing an FMS on sale order Item Code Field. When it will executed on first line it will show all the sale items but as it will be executed on 2nd line it will show sale items excluding the item which has been entered at first line and same scenario will occur at 3rd line means it shows Sale Items excluding Items entered on line 1 & 2 and same for other lines. So the user will not be able to enter a single item twice not even by mistake.
Please tell me what would be the FMS query for this.

Executing a stored procedure will not solve your problem.
Stored procedure can only evaluate when your records is written in table.
In your case, when user enter an item code, it is not yet committed to database.
Thus your stored procedure will never know what items have been entered.
Your current requirement cannot be addressed by FMS.
You have 2 choices.
1. If you insists on validating live as when the user enter the items, you need an UI API addon.
2. If you can live with validating when the user click the add/update the document, you can use Transaction Notification.

Becoming slow while reaching 5,800 items in iPhoto '08

just imported the photos to the iphoto '08 library, and it's becoming really slow. I have 5832 photos in it, and not many events 309...is there any way to vacuum/compact the iphoto library to make it faster?

Try deleting the iPhoto cache folders that are in your User/Library/Caches folder. That helped me speed up a bit.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

In SAP standard it is not possible as system doesnot know the requirement against which this procurement proposal is being made hence sysetm always allows to to create duplicate PO or in the existing PO you can add same material in next line item
But still if you wants to achieve this go to Enhancement user exit EXIT_SAPMM06E_001 or BADI ME_PROCESS_PO.with ABAPER you can include th logic as per your requirement.Hope this clear.

Why do you want/need to edit the file? You edit the keywords by typing them into the Keywords brick in the "Info" panel or using the "Manage My Keywords" panel - you can launch it from the "Window" menu. Then press the "Edit Keywords" button.

Recently purchased a scanner which I connect my iPad to. everything scanned goes into iPhoto. I purchased FileApp Pro to place scanned items into files. I still can't move the scanned items to a file. Help!

Is this a NAS type of setup (of which I know very little)? Mine is not a response based upon strong technical knowledge but iTunes seems to have problems with those. Just about everybody has issues with iTunes but you say it is not fit for the purpose. What is that? I bet for 99% of people it does. Not everybody has 8TB collections they are trying to use with a RAID structured external server. iTunes is really a mass consumer piece of software. Yes, many people have expanded beyond internal drives, but NAS arrangements seem to add levels of complexity beyond a direct external drive that is Mac formatted and at most served by an Apple brand wireless router which I suspect is probably how everything is tested. Anything more is fortuitous in terms of support. Except that you say the library files are on the external drive too it sounds to me like the server is asleep when you say it cannot find files and then suddenly can when you go to find one.
