Duplication of mail, music and photos on my iphone when syncing my pc with iphone

I have two  computers that i use.  I was syncing and updating my iphone with the one i use the least. I notice that my Iphone 4s is duplicating my mail that I sync with outlook and it also duplicated my iTunes music library and my pictures on my iphone 4s. How do I get rid of the duplicates on my iphone 4s?

Are they all Camera Roll pics?
Only Camera Roll pics can be imported.

  • I just bought an ipad. How do I get all the apps, music and photos from my iphone to my ipad?

I just purchased an iPad 2. I currently have an iPhone 4 (not 4s). I was told that I could get all the apps, music and photos from my iphone onto my ipad. I tried backing up my phone and restoring my ipad from my phone. Didn't work. It setup successfully but nothing transfered over. iCloud only gave me my contacts and calendar. HELP!

  • How do I transfer music and photos from my iPhone 4s to my iPad

HHow do I transfer music and photos from my iPhone 4s to my ipad

You cannot directly transfer anything from an iPhone to an iPad. If your iPad is signed onto the same Apple ID as your iPhone in Settings>iTunes & App Store, then it has access to the same Music library as your phone. Click on the More tab in the iTunes App on your iPad, and then on Purchased, Not on this iPad to see all of the music available to download to the iPad. You can also set the "Automatic Downloads" option to ON in Settings>iTunes & App Store and going forward, any music you purchase on the iPhone or via iTunes on a computer will automatically download to your iPad. Set the same setting on the iPhone to have it do the same.
As for photos. If both the iPhone and iPad are signed onto the same iCloud ID in Settings>iCloud, then turn on Photo Stream on both the iPad and iPhone to share Photo Stream photos between the two devices. Photos on your Camera Roll that are no longer on Photo Stream, or photos in other Photo Albums would have to be sync'd to the iPad via iTunes on the computer you sync with (assuming you have imported your photos to that computer).

  • I have updated my iPhone 3s to the latest software. I had backed up my phone before I did this. Now I have lost my music and apps. I can't sync the phone with my Mac, I can't re-download as the phone says I don't have any music or apps available. Help!

I have updated my iPhone 3Gs to the latest software in an attempt to iron out a problem with a new telephone network provider (Tmobile). I had backed up my phone before I did this. Now I have lost my music and apps. I can't sync the phone with my Mac, I can't re-download from iTunes as the phone says I don't have any music or apps available to re-download although it all shows up on my Mac. The music and app content cannot be restored when I try to restore the phone from the back up I madeon my Mac. Help!

Working on that now.  I'm just getting frustrated that everytime I run updates for the phone I end up with tech problems that I have to spend time solving as opposed to updates that actually improve my usage.  Now I will once again get to spend hours reloading my phone all for updates that didn't affect my usage in the first place.

  • I syced Itunes music and photos to my Ipad. Have replaced PC with new Imac, but cannot sync music and photos from Ipad to Imac(previous sync) Is there a way around this without loosing items on Ipad

Is it possible to copy music and photos from the Ipad to the Imac without syncing

With content purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
You need to transfer your iTunes library and your photos from your PC to your Mac along with all other important data from your PC that you will want or need to access on your Mac - no different when switching from one computer to another under any circumstances.

  • I have a  Classic Ipod used for music and photos. When I downloaded latest version of Itunes, the photo facility seems to have disappeared, Why?

I have used my Apple Classic Ipod for music and photo storeage/playback. When prompted to download a new versionof Itunes (11.1.0) I did so but cannot now locate any facility for removing/adding photos. Is this a deliberate action on the part of the programmers or a mistake. What can i do to recover the siutation?

    Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • Do I need to keep all my music and photos on my pc after I sync them?

It appears I must first load all music and photos onto my pc, then sync them to my iPad or iPod. Ok. Now I have all this data in 2 places..the pc and the target device, which is a gross waste of pc space. Can I delete all these things from my pc after they've been synced to the target, or must they stay on the pc forever??? Can't I delete from my pc all that's been synced, then if I want to add 1 song just add that song to what's already on the target, or must I reload EVERYTHING all over again just to add 1 more song?

If you manually manage the device the you can remove the content from the PC after you have put it on the device. However this isn't the recommended way. At some point you'll probably need to restore it which involves wiping all the data. If you don't have all this data to hand then you'll have to try to recover it from a now problematic device first. It's much easier to sync with your library - yes you have two copies, but that's not a waste, it is prudent. As long as you have two copies you can afford to lose one knowing you have a backup. In practice I keep a complete backup of my library, in addition to the subsets of it that I can put on my devices.

  • IPad setup - music and photos

I have recently purchased an iPad 3 and would now like to sort access to my iTunes music content (30gb) and photos (200gb) both of which are stored on an external hard drive which I have connected to a pc. I will shortly be giving my pc to family family as we no longer have room for it as our spare bedroom is now the nursery!! So, what is the best way to continue to access my music and photos without my pc as it will be too much content for my iPad? Perhaps iTunes match for music and if possible (?) accessing my photos via an external hard drive connected to my router?? Or If I kept my pc tower (almost acting as server) can I hook it up to an apple tv (do not currently own one) and access content on pc via network sharing?? I am aware of iCloud but only have the basic 5gb limit.
Really new to this and would welcome any solutions!
    Thanks,
    Edster81

You can sync music and photos to your iPhone by connecting the phone to your computer's iTunes - if you don't have your music in your computer's iTunes library, and if it's in a compatible format, then you can add it via File > Add To Library.
Syncing with iTunes : Sync your iPhone, iPad, and iPod with iTunes using USB - Apple Support
Photos aren't added to your iTunes library, iTunes is only used as a tool for syncing them to a device.
Syncing photos : Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support
You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the phone together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the phone - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the phone, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.

  • I lost my my ipod touch (generation 3) - i only had music and photos on it - no mail enabled.  i am wondering if someone finds my ipod and tries to use it, will they be able to download the photos to their computer?

i lost my ipod touch (gen 3) it had only music and photos on it. no mail enabled but passlock off.   i am worried if someone finds it, they will be able to download the fotos by connecting to a new computer and not syncing but just downloading.  that is the case, right?

There are ways to get content off the iPod from another computer, yes. Someone has to know a bit about what they're doing, though, but it's not horrendously difficult. So it is possible that someone could get your photos.
    Regards.

  • My pc crashed and I lost all my pictures and music that was stored on the pc.  Now i have a new pc and when i connect to itunes using my password all my music and photos are not available.  they appear to be lost.

my pc crashed and i lost all my pictures and music that was stored on the pc. now i have a new pc and when i log into itunes all my music and photos are not available.  I guess i dont understand the pupose of itunes and its worth.  I thought it backed up all my photos and music, but apparently not.  So what do I use so that when i lose data on  my pc i can retrieve it again at a later date or after a crash?/

Your content will only be where you put it.  It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer.  You should get the option to merge the data when you sync.

  • I found an old iPod classic of mine.  It's not synced to my new MacBook Pro.  How can I get the music and photos off of it and on to my new computer?  When I plug it in to my new computer it wants to erase what is on it and transfer from my new computer.

I found an old iPod classic of mine that is synced to a computer that is long gone.  I want to get the music and photos from this old iPod onto my new computer.  Every time I hook the iPod up to my new computer it wants to delete what is on the iPod and replace with the contents of the iTunes that is currently on the new computer.  I don't want to do that.  I want to keep what is on the old iPod and transfer it to iTunes.  Any help?  Thanks!

  • Can i share music and photos between two users on the same machine?

How can I share my music and photos between two users on the same machine?

Thank you Joe - I tried this but it's only showing a teensy amount of music - the stuff on the second users account as opposed to the giagntic library on the 'main' account. I actually went to a Genius Bar and they said that apple doesn't really want you to share music between accounts - parents don't want to hear their kids music etc. Which seemed strange, but it might be the case sadly   Thanks anyway!

  • Can I transfer music and photos from my 17" PowerBook G4 to a new MacBook Pro?

I am planning to buy a new MacBook Pro in the next couple of weeks. Can I have the "Genius" at the Apple Store transfer my music and pictures from my current PowerBook to the new computer? My current computer is a 17" PowerBook G4, running OS X 10.5.8. Because of the age of my computer and software limitations I have been unable to use iCloud for anything besides my calendar and contacts.

Yes, flash drive would work fine.
If all you care about is music and photos, as you indicated earlier, then you simply need to copy the entire contents of your Music and Pictures folders from the old computer into the Music and Pictures folders on the new computer. A flash drive will work fine as long as it is big enough. If you want to also move over personal files, typically those are in your Documents folder and possibly your Desktop, so don't forgot about those.
If you want to migrate over all your emails, applications, internet and router settings, web browser favorites, bookmarks, preferences, user names and accounts, etc., then you might consider doing the full migration using Setup Assistant upon the very first boot up. Apple will do this for you, for a fee, as will almost any Apple-authorized computer store (also for a fee, but probably for a bit less than Apple would charge). You can actually do this manually, using the external drive or flash drive, and I have done that myself. But you need to know where the files are to do that properly. The Setup Assistant (which is run upon the very first boot up of the new computer) or Migration Assistant (which is run after you have booted into your new computer at least once) make it pretty easy -- the main thing you need to do is hook the computers up with a firewire cable and follow Apple's instructions; or if that is not possible, the next best thing is to make a complete backup of your old computer onto an external drive using Time Machine (or a cloning program like SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner) and migrate from the backup.

  • How do I delete music and photos from my iCloud account? I've read below that you can't. Really? Is that correct?

How do I delete music and photos from my iCloud account? I've read that you can't. Really? Is that true?

You can delete photo stream photos from iCloud by just deleting them on your iPod.  My photo stream photos are automatically deleted from iCloud after 30 days anyway.  Just so you are aware, deleting photo stream photos doesn't free up any space in your account as they don't use your personal iCloud account storage.
You can't delete music from iCloud because the music isn't stored in your account; it's stored in the iTunes store.  What you are seeing are links to your previously purchased music in the iTuens store, allowing you to redownload them if you want to.  You can't remove anything from your list of previous purchases.  If you don't want to see these "iTunes in the Cloud" purchases in your song list, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turn off Music under Show All.  LIke photo stream photos, this music doesn't use any of your personal iCloud account storage.
