Duration in SM37
Hi,
where can i find the job execution time (duration) shown in SM37? I cant find it neither in TBTCP nor in TBTCO. Is it really calculated from start and end time?
Ok, its calculated by
FORM calculate_time_diff_in_sec
which can be found in function group btch.

How to view ALL batch job details (SM37) at one glance ?
Dear all,
I am documenting all released batch job details, the information required includes the job name, client number, job frequency .. etc.
In order to see that information, i go to SM37 and click on each job to see the details. I have about 60 jobs released, to get their details i have to click on them at least 60 times.
Is there a report or table that i can refer to that provides me the information of all the jobs in one screen ?
Thanks.
Advice and comment will be appreciated.
Regards,
KentDear Prashanth,
Thanks for the link, I managed to get the required information from table TBTCO or TBTCP with below selected fields.

Hi Folks,
Here is performance issue..
In the process chain having the process variant BI_PROCESS_INDEX : which is creating the indexes for 3 cubes, like C01, C02 and C03.
C01 and C02: Creating indexes for these cubes taking time not more than 1500 sec duration.
C03 cube is taking nearlly 5000 sec duration...
Can any one share your inputs, how we can reduce time for the creating indexes cube C03.
Thanks,
VenHi...
Just check in SM37....whether any ODS activation or Roll up job is going on or not............if so..........Go to Job details...copy the PID no........sometimes ODS activation and Roll Jobs create locks for index Jobs.........we often face this issue........
Then go to ST04............Lockwaits....Expand the nodes.search for that PID...........if u r able to find that PID there.it means those jobs r creating locks.........then Cancel those jobs..........index Job will complete very soon.........after that repeat those ODS activation and Roll up jobs.........
Also Check the System Log in SM21...............and Shortdumps in ST22.........may be the overall system performance is poor..........due to this job is taking long time......

Edited by: ganandkumar on Feb 21, 2011 9:45 AMFor this JOB, you can check what is the Program and Program variant it is executing...
From the log you gave, it seems its a custom job scheduled on some program.
Select the job, and click on steps.. it will take you to step list overview...
then menu goto -> variant.
this will tell you what program was running..
based on the program you can decide if the SM37 job should be deleted or not..
If you found that you still need the job, then you can just change the executing user of that JOB,,, replacing the older ID with any new ID -
Hi All,
I need the table name holding the field values of Duration and Delay viewed via SM37.
I did check on the below tables, but no luck.
TBTCO
TBTCP
TBTCS
Thanks,
KarthikHi Karthik,
Try using the function mudule BP_JOB_EDITOR
You can also check - In se11 for table D010TAB enter the program name for SM37,ie SAPLBTCH,you'll get all the tables used for this transaction.
But i think if you use this FM you'll get values in the export structure TBTCSTRT from which you'll have to caluculate.
LASTSTRTTM - SDLSTRTTM (Latest Execution Time for Background Job - Planned start time for background Job)
I hope it helps.

Time duration taken for a job to complete
Hi
How do I konw what is the time duration that has taken for any job to be completed I am looking in RSMO and i am able to see the start time in the header tab for a job .how do i see the completed time??
Thanks
SheetalHi Sheetal,
Double click on the start time a popup box would appear in that you can watch the End time as well.
Also below the Start time you can watch Run time as well,ie the Total Time taken to complete the data load.
or
you can check in SM37,
Copy the Reuqest name from monitor screen and paste it in the SM37 enter the name of the person who scheduled it or enter* to select all users.
you can find the Job details of that particular request.
Hope this helps.

Hi all,
I am trying to create a background job in a program using FMs JOB_OPEN,JOB_SUBMIT .... and dont want the job to be executed immediately , but the user should go to SM37 and schedule the job for the job name created by the above program.
How do i achieve this. PLs help with your ideas.
Thanks,

Scheduling Background Jobs:
1. Background jobs are scheduled by Basis administrators using transaction SM36.
2. To run a report in a background, a job needs to be created with a step using the report name
and a variant for selection parameters. It is recommended to create a separate variant for each
scheduled job to produce results for specific dates (e.g. previous month) or organizational units (e.g.
company codes).
3. While defining the step, the spool parameters needs to be specified
(Step-> Print Specifications->Properties) to secure the output of the report and help authorized users
to find the spool request. The following parameters needs to be maintained:
a. Time of printing: set to Send to SAP spooler Only for now
b. Name abbreviated name to identify the job output
c. Title free form description for the report output
d. Authorization a value defined by Security in user profiles to allow those users to access
this spool request (authorization object S_SPO_ACT, value SPOAUTH). Only users with matching
authorization value in their profiles will be able to see the output.
e. Department set to appropriate department/functional area name. This field can be used in
a search later.
f. Retention period set to Do not delete if the report output needs to be retained for more
than 8 days. Once the archiving/document repository solution is in place the spool requests could
be automatically moved to the archive/repository. Storage Mode parameter on the same screen
could be used to immediately send the output to archive instead of creating a spool request.
Configuring user access:
1. To access a report output created by a background job, a user must have at
least access to SP01 (Spool requests) transaction without restriction on the user
name (however by itself it will not let the user to see all spool requests). To have
that access the user must have S_ADMI_FCD authorization object in the profile with
SPOR (or SP01) value of S_ADMI_FCD parameter (maintained by Security).
2. To access a particular jobs output in the spool, the user must have
S_SPO_ACT object in the profile with SPOAUTH parameter matching the value used
in the Print Specifications of the job (see p. 3.d above).
3. Levels of access to the spool (display, print once, reprint, download, etc) are
controlled by SPOACTION parameter of S_SPO_ACT. The user must have at least
BASE access (display).
On-line reports:
1. Exactly the same configuration can be maintained for any output produced
from R/3. If a user clicks Parameters button on a SAP Printer selection dialog, it
allows to specify all the parameters as described in p. 3 of
Scheduling background jobs section. Thus any output created by an online report
can be saved and accessed by any user authorized to access that spool request
(access restriction provided by the Authorization field of the spool request
attributes, see p. 3.d of Scheduling background jobs section).
Access to reports output:
1. A user that had proper access (see Configuring user access above) can
retrieve a job/report output through transaction SP01.
2. The selection screen can be configured by clicking Further selection
criteria button (e.g. to bring Spool request name (suffix 2) field or hide other
fields).
3. The following fields can be used to search for a specific output (Note that
Created By must be blank when searching for scheduled jobs outputs)
a. Spool request name (suffix 2) corresponds to a spool name in p. 3.b in
Scheduling background jobs section above).
b. Date created to find an output of a job that ran within a certain date range.
c. Title corresponds to spool Title in p. 3.c in Scheduling background jobs
section above).
d. Department - corresponds to spool Department in p. 3.e in Scheduling
background jobs section above).
4. Upon entering selection criteria, the user clicks the Execute button to
retrieve the list of matching spool requests.
5. From the spool list the user can use several function such as view the
content of a spool request, print the spool request, view attributed of the spool
request, etc. (some functions may need special authorization, see p.3 in
Configuring user access)
a. Click the Print button to print the spool request with the default attributes
(usually defined with the job definition). It will print it on a printer that was
specified when a job was created.
b. Click the Print with changed attributed button to print the spool request
with the different attributes (e.g. changing the printer name).
c. Click the Display contents button to preview the spool request contents. A
Print and Download functions are available from the preview mode.

In oracle rac, If user query a select query and in processing data is fetched but in the duration of fetching the particular node is evicted then how failover to another node internally?
The query is re-issued as a flashback query and the client process can continue to fetch from the cursor. This is described in the Net Services Administrators Guide, the section on Transparent Application Failover.

Message with IDOC number, created by LSMW, missing in job log in SM37
Hi gurus,
We have a temporary interface which uses LSMW to create IDOCs and update in SAP. It's used for materials, BOMs and document info records. In LSMW we have defined standard message types MATMAS_BAPI, BOMMAT and DOCUMENT_LOAD for the IDOCs. All these have the same problem.
A background job runs and starts LSMW. In the job log in SM37 I want to see which IDOCs were created. For some reason this is different in my development system and my test system, and as far as I know all settings should be the same. In the test system LSMW creates more message lines in the job log, than it does in the dev system. Message number E0-097 is "IDOC XXXX added", and this is missing in the dev system.
This is what it looks like in the dev system:
Data transfer started for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subobject 'Y') /SAPDMC/LSMW 501 I
Import program executed successfully /SAPDMC/LSMW 509 I
File 'XXX.lsmw.read' exists /SAPDMC/LSMW 502 I
Conversion program executed successfully /SAPDMC/LSMW 513 I
Data transfer terminated for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subproject 'Y') /SAPDMC/LSMW 516 I
And this is what it looks like in the test system. More information, which is exactly what I want in dev system too:
Data transfer started for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subobject 'Y') /SAPDMC/LSMW 501 I
Import program executed successfully /SAPDMC/LSMW 509 I
File 'XXX.lsmw.read' exists /SAPDMC/LSMW 502 I
Conversion program executed successfully /SAPDMC/LSMW 513 I
File 'XXX.lsmw.conv' exists /SAPDMC/LSMW 502 I
IDoc '0000000002489289' added E0 097 S
File 'XXX.lsmw.conv' transferred for IDoc generation /SAPDMC/LSMW 812 I
Data transfer terminated for object 'MATMAS' (project 'X', subproject 'Y') /SAPDMC/LSMW 516 I
In both cases the IDOC is created and update works fine.
My only issue is that I can't see the IDOC number in the dev system. I know I can get the IDOC number in WE02, but in this case we have program logic which reads the job log to be able to check IDOC status before sending OK message back to the other side of the interface.
I hope any of you can have an idea how I can update somewhere to get message E0-097 with IDOC number into the log.
Regards,
LisbethHi Arun,
If you want to show your messages in the job log you have to use the MESSAGE statement. In case you use WRITE statements an output list be created which can be found in the spool (there is an icon to go to the spool directly).

Clip doesn't retain its proper duration
Hi there,
I have a 1 min. 6 sec Quicktime movie that I'm trying to import into Final Cut Pro. My problem is that whenever I try to import it, it doesn't retain the proper duration. It shortens itself to 1 min. and 3 or so seconds.
I've tried restarting FCP and the problem remained. I double-checked the Quicktime movie, and its duration is still 1 min. and 6 sec. I tried deleting the movie's reference in the Browser and re-imported it, but it still only has a 1 min. and 3 or so second duration. I need the rest of that clip.
What's even weirder is that when I make a freeze frame of some part of that clip (after it's been imported into the timeline), for some odd reason, the freeze frame references a later part of the clip (not where I chose to mkae a freeze frame).
I don't know if this will help, but the movie is a credits sequence done in After Effects that I exported to a Quicktime movie using DV/DVCPRO NTSC settings at a very high quality.
I appreciate all help.
Thanks,
AdamWhat's even weirder is that when I make a freeze frame of some part of that clip (after it's been imported into the timeline), for some odd reason, the freeze frame references a later part of the clip (not where I chose to mkae a freeze frame).I don't know if this will help, but the movie is a credits sequence done in After Effects that I exported to a Quicktime movie using DV/DVCPRO NTSC settings at a very high quality.
"Very high quality" is not helpful. You should have used Animation codec at the same frame rate. Your freeze frame would be easier to build if you did it in AE but, since you're out of time, your credits would be faster to create in FCP using one of the Boris titlers.

I want to make a slideshow to view on my television with image's duration ranging from seconds to an hour or more and I want to use my iPhone or iPad mini to control the television through my Apple tv.
I've been unable to locate an app that will do this. The Photos app that comes with the phone or iPad has extremely limited duration controls. PhotoStream seems to load everything from my phone or iPad not allowing me to just load up a set group of images.
iPhoto for iPad is getting some terrible recent reviews. I tried a couple other free apps but they don't use Airplay.
I can do something like this with iPhoto and my MB Air, but it's kind of ugly to have the computer open in order to connect by Airplay to my Apple TV. I've thought the iPad or iPhone would be a lower profile controller.
Am I out of luck? Thanks for your help. Since I'm uninterested in loading all my photos (the only option) into photostream, I won't be able to use the settings in ATV. I guess I'm just stuck with using iPhoto on my MB Air. Thanks again.

Unable to change Still/Freeze Frame Duration in User Pref Edit tab
Process-selected new project, change Still/Freeze Frame Duration in user preferences on the edit tab.
Need to change to 10 minutes. Typed in the field 00:10:00:00. When I hit ok, I get a beep and it defaults back to what was in there, 01:00:00:00. So tried a larger number 02:00:00:00. Same result. A beep.
So went ahead with project and opened a sequence and tried to change it from the viewer. Same issue.
Trashed prefs and started from scratch. Same issue.
Ideas?Trashed prefs rebooted originally.
Process as follows for trashing prefs. First time through I had opened a project. This time did not.
Open Home Folder
Open Library
Open Preferences
Delete com.apple.finalcutpro.plist
Open Final Cut Pro User Data
Delete Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs
Delete Final Cut Obj Cache
Delete Final Cut Prof Cache
Run disk utility to repair permissions.
Reboot.
Did not open a project this time.
Same issue but now I am able to put a slug in the time line and by selecting clip properties, can set the duration (was not able to do this before so some progress). Still can't set duration though as earlier described from edit tab on the user preferences page for still/freeze duration. -
SharePoint 2010 Slow query duration when setting metadata on folder
I'm getting "Slow Query Duration" when I programmatically set a default value for a default field to apply to documents at a specified location on a SP 2010 library.
It has nothing to do with performance most probably as I'm getting this working with a folder within a library with only a 1 document on a UAT environment. Front-end: AMD Opteron 6174 2.20GHz x 2 + 8gb RAM, Back-end: AMD Opteron 6174 2.20GHz x 2 + 16gb
RAM.
The specific line of code causing this is:
folderMetadata.SetFieldDefault(createdFolder, fieldData.Field.InternalName, thisFieldTextValue);
What SP says:
