How do you change the duration of the ring tone - currently 10 secs want it to ring loger - Nokia 6131

Go into your call divert settings, more specifically "divert if no answer" and extend the duration there.

Ringtones wont work in text tones section but works in ringtones section??

im having a problem here.. im using an iphone 4 with IOS 5.0.1, and as we all know...we can customise all of our tones into ringtones and text tones as well.. but have you guys out there encountered an issue which your customised tone works well in your ringtone section(phone calls) but u cant see that particular song in text tone(mesages)?? indeed i have some previously created tones which are usable in text tone section...but recently ive created some new songs which i wanted to put into text tones but i cant see them in text tone list...but i can use them as my ringtone(phone calls)..isnt that weird?? and the funny thing is some tones from my ringtone doesnt make a sound in text tone...i can see that tone but when i selected it..it only rings with the original tri-tone ringtone...anyone out there having the same problem as i do? ** i resynced my tones and musics many times already and its still the same...feelling quite frustrated already** please help

just found a solution...my previous tones are all the same durations as ringtones which is 40seconds...ive shortened it to 25second and it worked on both sides...

How do I move a song from Music to Tones to make it my ringtone?

In my Itunes Library, how do I move a song from Music to Tones so I can make it my ringtone on my iphone

Right mouse click the song in music library you want to create ringtone and choose “Get Info”
Choose “Option” Tab, Check “Start Time” & Stop Time” of the track you want to make into ringtone and put in your start time and end time (Max 40 secs duration), then click OK
Right mouse click the mp3 again and choose “Create AAC Version”
You will see a copy of song with same name appeared but with 40sec duration only. Now drag the song onto your desktop and you will see the name is now xxxxxx.m4a.
Change the file extension m4a into m4r from the desktop
Delete the 40sec m4a file from the music library (You must do this step or Itune will not accept your new m4r file).
*Important - Now uncheck the start & stop time of the original song so that you can play back full length.
Now, drag the m4r file from desktop to Library
Click onto the Tones under Library, and you find you ringone file.
Note: Just in case you cannot "Create AAC version" from Step 3, go to top menu, click "Edit", "Preference". Under "general" Tab, click "Import Settings", make sure under Import Using that "AAC Encoder" is selected.

How to create custom Ringtones (m4r files) from Songs in iTunes

On Mac OS : 10.7.5 (Lion)
On iTunes : 11.0.4
Difficulty : intermediate - hard
Assuming you know basic Ctrl+Click and Option+Drag...
Full correct steps should be like this :
1) Select a favourite song in iTunes program to be made into Ringtone...
2) "Get Info" on that song name and make any 0:30 seconds portion of that song....
(specify "Start" & "Stop" time - under "Options" – to any 30-seconds duration and click OK)
3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file...
(when done iTunes will create a Chime)
4) to locate the created .m4a file easily, Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Show in Finder" from the pop-up list...
(iTunes will automatically point the folder location of the original .mp3 & the newly created .m4a files... keep this window open for later...)
5) change the .m4a file to .m4r as suggested...
(rename to whatever you like but you must change the extension to .m4r)
6) At this point, the m4r(original) file isn't a "Ringtone" file yet... which we'll need to change now...)
(check under "Get Info" > "Kind" : it's still "Apple MPEG-4 Audio")
...1st by dragging that newly changed .m4r(ori) file to somewhere out of that same default folder it was created by iTunes...
{ this is where most confusions occur, take note here, it gets rather complicated }
7) Once it's outside of that folder, Double Click the m4r(ori) file and iTunes will play...
(u can stop it immediately...) this is just to let iTunes automatically convert that m4r(ori) file into a new duplicate & places it inside the initial default folder where the original .mp3 file is kept... we kept the window open previously, remember?
8) Locate that duplicate .m4r(new & true) file, in that same .mp3 folder and now DUPLICATE-Drag (press Option while dragging to get the "+" sign) it to the "TONES" folder in your default apple folder structure. (check under "Get Info", this .m4r(new) File's "Kind" should be "Ringtone")
//to get to that "TONES" Folder : First Locate your iTunes default Music Folder in your Mac --> usually it's in your Default "MUSIC" folder --> Navigate to "iTunes Media" --> Navigate to "Tones". !! Keep this window open to make the transfer manually !!
9) Once your duplicate is placed inside the "Tones" folder, double-click on that duplicate .m4r(true) file and let iTunes play, it should automatically place that ringtone file into the "Ringtone" sidebar List in the iTunes program... (check program to see)
Somehow u needed both duplicates : 1 – inside the default initial .mp3 folder & 1 – inside the Tones Folder which we Duplicate+Drag into... and both must be "Ringtone" – Kind... for this to work.
10) There you go. Now you can Sync / Delete / Add the whole Ringtone contents to your iPhone as you wish.
//Don't forget to set SYNC ON under the iphone "Tones" tab in your iTunes - iPhone screen... and click big SYNC button at the bottom of iTunes program & wait for the magic.
( Finally you can check inside your iPhone "Sounds" settings and hopefully if all steps done correctly, the bloodycomplicatedringtone selection will be there. Enjoy!

I'm using iTunes 11.0.4 on OSX 10.8.4 and am having a hard time following your instructions to create a ringtone from a snippet of a .mp3 file using iTunes:
1) Select a favourite song in iTunes program to be made into Ringtone... CHECK!

3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file... PROBLEM!
It's when I hit Step 3 that I have a problem -- my "right click menu" at that point looks like this:
There's no option to "create AAC version." Nor does this option appear anywhere in iTunes that I can find.
It really shouldn't be this confusing to create a freaking ringtone. HELP PLEASE!

I created a ringtone using the app ringtone editor pro and emailed it myself to upload to my library and transfer it to my iphone 5. When I tried to transfer it to my iphone, itunes told me it could not be copied because its duration is too long. However, I have another ringtone on my phone from my library that is the same length and it transfers just fine. How do I edit the length of this new ringtone I made when the options are shaded grey in "get info"?

Add an attachement and point it to the location of the physical file on the computer as you would with any other file you want to attach to an email.

Purchasing a Ringtone in Itunes

I just purchased a song in Itunes with the intent of using it as a ringtone. Ironically, moments before seeing your post I had just spent some time making ringtones for my iPhone - it's SUPER easy!
(I'm using iTunes 9.2 and an iPhone 3Gs running iOS4)
All my iTunes music is owned. I merely find the song I want a piece of, listen and determine the :30 seconds I want ...
• GET INFO on the song (command+i)
• Select the OPTIONS tab at the top of the window that pops open
• Set the START TIME and STOP TIME of the song (you can define hundredths of a second if you wish), hit [OK]
• Go to iTunes menu bar at very top of your screen, select ADVANCED
• CREATE AAC VERSION (this must be previously defined in iTunes' CD Import Settings preference)
• iTunes will generate your new, :30 second AAC version of the song
• Drag this new :30 second version onto your desktop
• Change filename from .m4a to .m4r, confirm this in the dialog box that will appear
• The song you just dragged onto desktop should still be highlighted within iTunes (be sure to be in iTunes, not Finder) - press the DELETE key, hit REMOVE, hit MOVE TO TRASH ... that :30 second duplicate file is now gone from within iTunes.
• Remember to reset your original song's START TIME and STOP TIME by deselecting the boxes
• Click on the RINGTONES library icon in iTunes (below Apps, above Radio)
• Drag the new .m4r file from your desktop and plop it in your RINGTONES library
• Sync your iPhone
• Go into iPhone's Settings > Sounds > Ringtone
POOF! You've got home-made ringtones!
NOTE: It takes longer to read the above info than to actually make the ringtone. Once you've done it a couple of times, it'll be really fast. The most difficult part is deciding which :30 seconds of the song you want to use!
ONE LAST NOTE: Your iPhone's ringer will likely only have a :20 second duration. See this link on how to extend it to :30 seconds. Again, super-easy!

Hello dayra. Just plug in your phone then go iTunes "File" -> "Transfer Purchases". We got below mentioned error in CVP Call Server logs for our calls. Due to this calls are not routed to agents.
Apart from our call flow, I need to know what is the cause and solution of this error.

I don't have experience on PCCE , but UCCE perspective this looks to me more like ATR(Agent Targeting rule) or Device Target Issue. Ringtone service should not cause Calls to fail.
Can you please post log from CVP, for Particular call that faced this issue?

Duration for a tone

I was trying to upload a ringtone to my iphone from itunes but when I tried to sync it, itunes said the ringtone wasn't copied because the duration was too long... it's only 30 seconds and 900kb. My friend who did the process has a 30 seconds ringtone at 1000kb and it turned out fine. How do I resolve this issue?

Did you try 29 seconds? Not trying to be funny - I have had the same issue and shortening the duration made things work.

Bluetooth Ringtones & Web Access

Couple of questions. First of all - how do you close out of the web. It seems like if I leave the web, I'm still connected (seeing the green v's over the power bars). Also, how do I manage my files on the centro - have the app to manage the files on my card but can't seem to access things on my centro. Am wanting to bluetooth a ringtone to my husband's cell and don't know where to go to do that. Thanks for your help.

If you are using ATT Internet access on the phone, you don't need to do anything to close the web link. It will go dormant on its own. You dont get charged for duration of attachment these days.
Managing files - I use the freeware Filez but this may be a little deep for your needs. Basic file management is done in the Launcher (what you see when you hit the home key). Use the menu items Delete, Beam, Send, Category etc to operate on the software in your centro.
For beaming a ringtone over BT, try this: Open Sounds from the Launcher. Cliuck the Manage... button. Now you can choose any ringtone to Send. The send options include Bluetooth. BEfore you go here, you should pair the other phone with your Centro - otherwise they will not be able to 'see' each other.
To pair with another phone, you need to make the other phone visible over Bluetooth - see the manual for the other phone if you dont know how to do this. Then use Bluetooth app on Centro to pair with this phone. There is no guarantee that the other phone will be capable of excahnging files in this way with Centro. Also it may not share the ringer formats of the Centro - the built in tones are mainly MIDI files in the MID format. Tones you record yourself on the phone are AMR files.
