During install Server Option disabled

The 1st 2 choices are greyed out, it says CF and Jrun are
DETECTED on my system. I have removed
1). the CFUSIONMX7 Folder
2). EVERY reference to ColdFusion in the registry
3). I don't have a CFIDE or CFDOC under my wwwroot
4). Nothing in the TEMP folder
and ofcourse, I have rebooted.
Help
Bruce

You should have done that only after running Coldfusion's
uninstaller. You cannot know the location of all the files of the
installation. For example, Coldfusion installs quite a number of
registry keys that contain no obvious reference to Coldfusion or to
Macromedia. It might also install files in obscure places like the
Application Data directory. As with most software, using the
uninstaller is the surest way to remove the relevant files and
registry keys.
A possible solution is to install again, even if a corrupted
or an incomplete installation. Then, use Coldfusion's uninstaller.

I uninstalled because Itunes would not upgrade.  Now I can't install.  I was able to install an older version, but couldn't access my music because it was an older version, so I uninstalled that and now have nothing.  I would appreciate any help.
    Thank you.

Glad to read that renaming trick helped to get iTunes installed for you. Your thread here is fine for more questions.
Search your hard drive for your music - it should still be there, but perhaps this fresh install of iTunes just isn't seeing it.
    Find music: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1408
You absolutely do NOT want to sync your iPhone with an empty iTunes library. It will erase everything. Apple only gives you one download and you need to make backups. I hope it is still on your PC! But at least you have it on your iPhone.
I don't think you synced your iPhone with your father's iTunes, or his music would be on it. Have a look in a folder named Previous iTunes Libraries. There might be an iTunes database ITL file in there that you can use.
They have names like "iTunes Library 2009-04-06.itl" which would be from April 6th, 2009.
Press and hold the shift key while starting iTunes, and when prompted, choose the most recent previous library. Does it show most of your music, and can you play some songs in iTunes OK?

    Thanks in advanced.

    Hi,
To use a custom retention formula to determine expiration, click Set by a custom retention formula installed on this server. This option is only available if a custom formula has been set up by your administrator.
However you can create a custom retention policy, follow the articles for doing it by code.

I can't answer your question but I had a similar issue when I was trying to move our mailbox database off the C: drive.  Our environment still has an Exchange 2007 server in it and when I was trying to move the database on the 2013 server, I would get
error messages saying the database does not exist.  It seemed like it was trying to move the database on the 2007 server from the similar error messages that I was getting.  To get around it, I deleted the database and created a new one on the drive
    where we wanted it.
I discovered this when I was configuring the Antispam settings.  I deleted our 2007 settings, added them to the 2013 shell, the settings appeared on our 2007 server.  The shell on 2013 was making changes to 2007.
I'm not sure if there is a "Get|Set or New" command that I/we should be using when this happens.  Or maybe my issues will be fixed if I just remove the Exchange 2007 server?  I'm not ready to do that yet because I can't configure the spam filtering
on 2013 yet with its shell not being able to make the changes that we need.
I don't know if your environment is in coexistence mode like mine.
Hopefully someone else out there has an answer or can tell us when/how the shell can make the appropriate changes to the 2013 server.  Does this happen after the 2007 server is removed?

  • Use a different SSO Server than the one specified during install.

    Hello,
I found on documentation that OAS Portal Configuration Guide would tell me how to use a different SSO Server than the one specified during install. I need to tell an existing Portal installation to use a new Identity Management infrastructure server I installed.
However, documentation does not mention anything related to that. It states that ptlconfig would do the trick, but ptlconfig instructions are not clear on how to accomplish this.
Could anyone that has done this before, help me out? Thanks in advance...

    Hello jlubbers,
That is exactly what I am talking about, the ptlconfig does not model SSO components. So I assume it is incorrectly referenced on several points of documentation as a tool to work with SSO parameters or configuration.
I need to know how to tell my Portal to look at the new SSO server. If someone has done it before, please let me know.
    Thanks again.

  • "WRITE SAME failed. Manually zeroing." error during install or boot

    Hello everyone!
Since the lasts kernels (I'm almost sure it happens since 3.9 because 3.8 worked fine) I can't boot on Archlinux anymore. This error floods my screen and I can't do anything, and because the new Archlinux iso (june 2013) comes with 3.9 kernel it now also happens during installation. Fortunately, I saved the may iso so I still can install archlinux and switch during install to LTS kernel but this is not a good solution. I can't find a solution online, some people have this issue but it seems to be a bit different everytime.
I use Archlinux on a server, with hardware raid : Dell PERC H200a with LSI SAS2008 according to my BIOS. According to http://kernelnewbies.org/Linux_3.7, the WRITE SAME SCSI command "allows the same block to be efficiently replicated throughout a block range. Only a single logical block is transferred from the host and the storage device writes the same data to all blocks described by the I/O (commit)". Here is the exact configuration :
    - DELL® PowerEdge R210 II
    - 1x Intel® Xeon® E3 1220 V2
    - HDD: 2 x 1 To SATA2 RAID
    - RAID: Hardware, Dell PERC H200, (Raid 1)
So my first problem is that I can't find online if my server is capable of this command (but I don't think so) and then the other issue is that I want to know if I can disable it. I found kernel patches for this issue :
https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/1898441/ and https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/1982051/ (the first link seems to be a better solution).
Then, I checked in the kernel source of 3.9 and I think that this patch isn't implemented (there is no device_write_same_capable function for instance). But kernel patching is not a really good solution, if I have to patch my kernel everytime the main kernel is updated...
After some research, I found that my hardware RAID driver seems (I'm not sure) to be the kernel module "mpt2sas", so I checked both may and june isos of Archlinux and it's the same version (14.1) so it shouldn't be the problem.
Does somebody can help me on this issue ? I don't really know what to do now.
Thanks for reading, if I forgot something or if you want more informations, ask me!
    Bye.
PS : My English isn't very good, sorry.
EDIT : I found a part of the solution ! It seems to be an issue with the kernel that doesn't detect properly if my disc is capable of doing WRITE SAME command.
So I have to write "0" in the file "max_write_same_blocks" under /sys. But the problem is that /sys is renewed every boot so I don't know how to make my changes permanent. I made a systemd service file, it almost works, but this solution isn't nice : the parameter is applied lately so errors shows at the beginning and this is not really easy to set up. I prefer a solution like "sysctl" but it seems that it only controls parameter under /proc/sys and not /sys, am I right ?
Moreover, I tried two other things : Ubuntu 12.04 with kernel 3.9.4 works and Archlinux iso with 3.8.10 has max_write_same_blocks > 0 and it also works... So I don't really understand this issue. Maybe in 3.8 the parameter max_write_same_blocks has no effect (or not the same as in 3.9) ?
Here is the systemd file that I made to reduce the issue :
    [Unit]
    Description=No WRITE SAME
    After=local-fs.target
    [Service]
    Type=oneshot
    ExecStart=/bin/sh -c 'echo 0 > /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0/0000:01:00.0/host0/target0:1:0/0:1:0:0/scsi_disk/0:1:0:0/max_write_same_blocks'
    RemainAfterExit=no
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
This is not a good solution, see my next post. I don't delete it in case you want to compare.
Last edited by rfnx (2013-06-02 15:26:50)

I found a solution to disable the WRITE SAME command. That doesn't answer all my questions but it solves my issue. I was looking for a file like "sysctl.conf" but for /sys parameters : you already can do that in Arch, just create a file that ends with ".conf" in tmpfiles.d and add one line per parameter you want to modify. This file will be loaded early at boot.
To disable it in an existing Archlinux installation, add in you file the line :
    w /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0/0000:01:00.0/host0/target0:1:0/0:1:0:0/scsi_disk/0:1:0:0/max_write_same_blocks - - - - 0
Read the manpage of tmpfiles.d if you don't understand this line, it depends on your configuration and you can't copy it.
Then reboot and no more error !
If you want to disable it during the Arch install, just change directly the value you want in /sys. You have to do it at the beginning before mounting partitions, for instance just after choosing your keymap.
    Bye.

  • [SOLVED] DHCP error during install due to multiple net cards

    Hello all,
At the "Setup Network" option during the installation, I choose eth0. Then it asks if I want to use DHCP. I select 'Yes' but get
Failed to run dhcpcd. See /dev/tty7 for details
while polling for DHCP. So I press Alt+F7 and the details are
    eth0: dhcpcd 4.0.10 starting
    eth0: waiting for carrier
    eth0: timed out
When I try to manually set it up (ie select 'No' when asked if I want to use DHCP), it asks for the following: IP address, submask, broadcast, Gateway (optional), DNS Server. Then it says "Network is configured" but I still can't download the packages.
I have a Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC card (not wireless) to a Linksys Router. I've set up DHCP on it for 5 users (only two being used). By the way I have WinXP on the same computer which accesses the network fine, and net access also worked during other distros' installation.
    Any clues? Thanks.

ralvez wrote:OK. You  have an IP address, so that rules out a problem with your Nic card.
Sorry I was maybe a little bit unclear on my previous post, but I'm pretty sure that I don't have an IP address during installation. I would like to add some precisions. Here are my observations:
When I type ifconfig immediately after login (as root), it shows
    lo Link encap:Local loopback
    inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask 255.0.0.0
    UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
    RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
    TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
    collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
    RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
Then when I run /arch/setup, Configure Network, answer 'Yes' to DHCP, and after the error message (the one on 1st post), ifconfig gives this (which clearly shows that I do NOT have an IP)
    eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:39:63:8C:EE
    UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
    RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
    TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
    collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
    RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
    lo Link encap:Local loopback
    inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask 255.0.0.0
    UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
    RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
    TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
    collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
    RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
Finally, when I answer 'No' to the DHCP question, and after I've entered my IP/Broadcast/Subnet Mask/DNS addresses, the result of ifconfig is the one on the previous post, that is
    eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:39:63:8C:EE
    inet addr:172.30.201.6 Bcast:172.30.201.255 Mask 255.255.255.0
    UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
    RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
    TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
    collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
    RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
    lo Link encap:Local loopback
    inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask 255.0.0.0
    UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
    RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
    TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
    collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
    RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
NB: I have entered the same addresses that I use normally (ie with Windows, the ones I see in cmd->ipconfig /all), but I could have entered whatever addresses I wanted. And I still don't have net access during install (ping does not return anything).
Can you explain what are you doing to install Linux? Do you try to run the CD from within Windows or are you placing the CD in the CD bay and re-booting the machine and the CD fails?
Of course I am booting the cd at startup (not within windows)! And the CD does not fail, or at least does not seem. Everything runs fine except the DHCP thing. So the problem is not the CD, but my computer. I'm finding a way to get DHCP working during the installation.

  • Microsoft Update On setting during install?

What happens exactly during instalation of a SCOM 2012 R2 MS when you select "Microsoft Update On"? I did this but when I check Windows Update settings it is still disabled.

    Regards,

If you select "Microsoft Update on",It's responsible for upgraded and Update Roll-ups for SCOM Server
But it's not recommended to enable it because There aren't as much updates for SCOM as there are for windows server and they are cumulative too. SCOM servers should be upgraded \ have Update Roll-ups applied in a specific order and manner.

hard drive not recognized during windows server 2008 setup

    Hi,
Whether the hard disk is recognized in BIOS?
Connect it to another computer to see if it could be recognzied incase the cause is the disk itself. Also please check if it is really a RAID instead of a single hard disk - a single disk should be recognized directly while RAID cannot be recognized until
    a suitable driver is installed.

  • When installing Server 2008 Datacenter from disc, I get the error message "Windows could not parse or process the unattent answer file for pass [specialize].

This is a clean install from s disc onto a 3TB GPT drive. This is for testing. I'm not concerned with finding a more practical solution for this installation.
There is no image or answer file involved. But at the "Completing Installation" phase, I receive this error message about an answer file.
Has anyone else expecrienced this problem? The only results I find here are regarding actual imaging with answer files.
    EDIT: [Redacted]
EDIT 2: Since this now happens with every single installation of Server 2008 on this system, I feel the need to keep this open and elaborate on my situation.
I originally installed Server 2008 on the 2TB partition of this 3TB drive. The partition type was MBR. I reinstalled it (there was a false alarm for malicious software) since it was a fresh install without updates or anything else installed. And for the
    second time, it installed fine.
I decided to make the most of my 3TB drive and try GPT partitioning. So I went into the command prompt > diskpart > ran "clean" on the disk, then "convert GPT"
That is when I tried another install of Server 2008 and received this error message about an answer file.
I decided to convert it back to MBR and get on with what I wanted to test in the first place. So I went into Diskpart again, ran "clean", rand "convert MBR" and started the install. But this resulted in the same error message about an
    answer file.
I went back to Diskpart, "clean"ed the disk, ran "convert dynamic" to make sure it was dynamic, then tried the install again, with the same result.
Now, I've tried installing on the disk as GPT, MBR basic and MBR dynamic. I've tried a different installation disc, as well. I got the same result. At this point, I'm going to switch hard drives, but I'm still open to input. Thanks for reading!

    Hi,
As you swapped the hard disk, whether the same issue occurs again if you redo the same steps?
I asked "OEM or retail" because of this known issue:
"Windows could not parse or process the unattend answer file for pass [specialize]" error message when you perform an in-place upgrade in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2425962
An answer file may already contain in the disc which causes the issue.
If issue still exists you can click Shift + F10 during the installation process to see the log. Check if the installation error for detailed information.

I wonder whether this would be possible.
Can I replace Enterprice feature by the normal Internet Service?? and how?
    Thank you for any information
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi there!
The options you are presented with when you start the email configuration wizard are controlled by virtue of the account type you have with your carrier. Given what you describe, it sounds as if you have perhaps on a generic data plan (or perhaps no data plan at all) -- that is normally not sufficient to grant you access to the Blackberry Internet Service that is hosted at your carrier. To enable Personal Email configuration, you must contact your carrier and request what is often (thought not universally) called The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever it is called, you need a plan from your carrier that grants you access to the enhanced Blackberry services that they host - and you must pay them to access those enhanced services. Once you have that proper account, you will have Personal email as a configuration option (note, though, that Enterprise will not be "replaced"...rather, Personal will be added to the screen).
Good luck and let us know!

  • Linux install server and solaris 10

    Hi,
I am trying to learn Solaris as a student. I bought a SPARC (Netra T105 UltrasparcII) server on ebay which requires a network install as there is no cd-rom, or keyboard.
I only have a linux box (like I said, I'm a stingy student) to use as an install server, there is a few tutorials out there to try and do this, but none for Solaris 10. I have been hacking away at this for days, but cannot get it to install. I have the sparc server using RARP and then getting the /etc/bootparams file and downloading the boot files, but it does not get to locating the jumpstart files or the install files (I dont know if I can install from the terminal using the keyboard (without jumpstart) - I have not got that far yet).
I always get this, like it cannot find the install directory, I was wireshark on the linux boot server and see loads of NFS traffic after the TFTP download, but cannot seem to see what part it actually at. I have a detailed log at the bottom from putty. Any help greatly appreciated.Cheers

    Hi,
I am trying to learn Solaris as a student.
You can install using the keyboard with jumpstart. Without jumpstart you'd need local media (you can't enter the OS via the keyboard).
I always get this, like it cannot find the install directory, I was wireshark on the linux boot server and see loads of NFS traffic after the TFTP download, but cannot seem to see what part it actually at. I have a detailed log at the bottom from putty. Any help greatly appreciated.Cheers

/sbin/install-discovery: information: not foundHmm. That looks like the image file is corrupt. Can you pull the image from media again? Can you see if there's a /sbin/install-discovery file in the image (usually under Tools/Boot/root). I recall there used to be a problem with that file.
    Linux box setup:
    /etc/bootparams
solaris root=192.168.2.10:/home/sunos/Solaris_10/Tools/Boot rootopts=rsize=32768 boottype=:in install=192.168.2.10:/home/sunos_install/Solaris_10/Product sysid_config=192.168.2.10:/home/sunos_install/jumpstart/sysidcfg install_config=192.168.2.10:/home/sunos_install/jumpstart/jumpstart.confIf you just want an interactive install (prompt for configuration/settings), you don't need sysid_config or install_config. Those are for automated installations.
    TFTP setup from /tftpboot:
    [root@robert tftpboot]# ll
    total 232
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Jun 10 13:55 C0A80214 -> inetboot
    -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 221280 Jun 10 13:47 inetboot
The Openboot can get ahold of the inetboot file and downloads and it and then loads it.
The following directories are exported through NFS
    [root@robert sunos_install]# cat /etc/exports
    #/home/nfs 192.168.2.0/24(ro,sync)
    /home/sunos *(ro,no_root_squash)
    /home/sunos_install *(ro,no_root_squash)
    [root@robert tftpboot]# showmount -e localhost
    Export list for localhost:
    /home/sunos *
    /home/sunos_install *That looks pretty good.
You do have the option of running VMware on linux, and putting a Solaris 10 image on it, then using that VM as your boot server. But the problem you're displaying doesn't appear to be related to the linux server.

  • Does transmission damage my hdd?

It is said, that transmission has very small amount of disk cache and utilizes hdd more intensively, than some other clients. That's why hdd lifetime is slight reduced. But AFAIK, there is disk cache on OS level also. All writes and reads are cached.
