During Itunes install I keep receiving windows error 2 message

I am trying to install itunes on my new HP Pavilion laptop and I keep getting an error message. Windows error 2 message

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

OK.  If both of you are Windows 7.  Make sure you go to Windows update (START button, type in Windows Update). Check for updates and update whatever that are available. (especially Microsoft .NET Framework 4 )
After that see if you still get this error message.
The last resort would be to unistall and reinstall the whole thing.
    Follow the steps below:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • I am trying to activate my iphone 4 via my itunes but i keep getting the error (1) message at the end of restoring.  Any suggestions?

I am trying to activate my iPhone 4 via iTunes but i keep getting the error (1) message at the end of the restore.  I believe my iphone has to be in DFU mode but i already tried that and same thing.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

The error is just a simple error message just like (1013) instead it says (1).  The iPhone I am trying to activate has been activated before I just currently have no service and I think that activating it will solve the problem.  I just can't restore through iTunes because it won't finish. I get the message every time I try to restore.

  • TS3694 i am trying to restore my iphone4 but i keep getting an error 3194 message, what do i need to do?

My phone crashed during a software update and when i try to restore it on the itunes site, i keep getting an error 3194 message. It is an iphone4, what can i do?

This usually means you previously used an iPhone hacking utility such as tinyumbrella which altered your computer hosts file, blocking access to the Apple server, gs.apple.com:
Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. FollowiTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736fd, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

  • I constantly get Error 7 (windows error 5) message.  I have installed and uninstalled repeatedly.  Any chance of getting Itunes on Windows 8.1?

I had the older version of ITunes and then it disappeared.  When I try to install the new version, I keep getting "unable to install ITunes, Error 7 (windows error 5) message.  I have repeatedly installed and uninstalled iTunes without luck.  Any chance of actually getting this on Windows 8.1 or not?  I am assuming I also lost my library during this.

Error message during iTunes install onto Win-7 32 system.

    Hello DarkSideWin,
I found a couple of resources I think will help with the error message you are getting.
I recommend first reviewing the following article (the title refers to Bonjour service failing to start, but the steps are relevant to the error message you are getting as well):
"Bonjour service failed to start, verify you have sufficient privileges" error message when installing
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1609
If you are still not able to install iTunes after following those steps, I recommend reviewing this article next:

Close iTunes and disconnect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Click the Windows Start button .
In the Start Search field type Services.
In the Programs section of the search results, Click "Services".
Select Apple Mobile Device and click Stop the service as shown below:
After the service has stopped, click Start the service.
After the Apple Mobile Device service has started again, open iTunes and connect the device.
Set the Apple Mobile Device Service Startup type to Automatic
