During the upgrade all bookmarks are gone. There does not appear to be a saved file of the bookmarks.

I have attempted to restore and import the former bookmarks, but I do not know where to look for the files. On a windows XP service pack 2 desktop computer, I upgraded from 3.6 to 15 last night and all bookmarks are gone. Please help me find where to look for them. Thanks

Do you see any JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder with a file size large enough that they can contain your bookmarks?
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. Yes you can use a paperclip to eject the SIM card, you just simply press in the tiny hole of the SIM card tray.

In attempting to burn a playlist onto a new CD, iTunes seems to burn about half the tracks then shuts down and issues an error msg. (4900) - although that msg. has rec'd a lot of attn., there does not appear to be an adequate or workable fix or suggestion

Although there appears to have been similar problems for some time, I cannot locate any suggestions for fixing the problem. I had the same problem after updating my DVD-Drive Firmware.
Disabling the Option to burn "CD TEXT" solved my problem. Hope that helps !!

I had all my photos neatly in events on the MAC; with this new upgrade, all photos are renamed by location not what I want; how do I change this back?

All my photos on the MAC were in events named by me.
Now, with this upgrade, all my photos are without my event names and named by iphoto by date and location (sometimes incorrect). I do not like this at all. I want to return to my events. How can I do this??

Moments in Photos are the new Events, i.e. groupings of photos sorted by date taken.
When the iPhoto Library was first migrated to Photos there was a folder created in the sidebar titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events (which are now Moments) are represented by an album in that folder. To open the sidebar if it's not already open use the Option+Command+S key combination.
There's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N. Name it as desired. It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.
The downside to the simulation is that the Albums/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title. But they can also be sorted manually, either in the sidebar or in the folder's window at the right.

Bridge, windows notification area, bridge CC does not appear there

With Bridge CS6 if I tell it to open at startup I get an icon in the windows 7 notification area. But now I have installed Bridge CC and I do not get that icon. Bridge opens at startup but if I close it it is gone until I restart the program. When I had the icon in the notification area it would open faster.
When I go to the properties for the taskbar I still find the CS6 icon but no CC icon.
How do I add the CC icon?
Did abode forget to add the connection so windows 7 can add this icon?

There does not appear to be a way to either import or export usernames and passwords in the Firefox password manager. I like to have a paper copy of this information because I'm decrepit and forget these things.

There is no way to copy or export username, password, or website information in Firefox's password manager.

I do not know of a straightforward way of printing passwords.
One method is to use the Password Exporter add-on, with it you can export the passwords to either a CSV or XML files. These files are readable and can be printed off, but do contain superfluous information. If you have a spreadsheet you can open the CSV file in the spreadsheet and then print the passwords from there - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/password-exporter/

I want to block all cookies and this option does not appear under the 'options' and 'security' tabs. It seems to have disappeared. What can I do?

I followed the instructions from your website on how to block all co9kies and i did not work. You used to have a simple menu for blocking and unblocking cookies, which seems to have disappeared. If I can't block cookies, then I will have to use another browser where I can. Thanks for your help.

I recently acquired Final Cut Pro and my concern is that when attempting to download old footage from cine or standard 8, that is 4:9 aspect. There does not appear to be a way of instructing F C Pro to automatically convert images to 16:9 ratio?

I am an inexperience user and recently acquired Final Cut Pro to supplement my Imove application.
My question is - How can I instruct F C Pro to automatically convert 4:9 aspect material (old cine and standard 8 recordings) to 16:9 aspect.
At the moment I am adjusting each clip manually to fit 16:9, not a very good way to proceed! I have no problem with Imovie in this respect and wonder if
F C Pro offers the same facillity? Can not find any clues either from Apple store or elsewhere.

You mean 14:9, right?? 8mm film frame aspect ratio is 1.58. I find it hard to believe that your telecined video has the same aspect as the original film unless it has been explicitly trimmed to those dimensions. If that's the case, it's pillarboxed in the 16:9 format or letterboxed in the 4:3 format.
You could try to select all your clips and in the Video Inspector > Spatial Conform, select Fill. This will cause your clips to expand to fill the 16:9 "space". This also means that portions of the edges will "overflow" the boundaries of the modern frame (most likely the top and bottom edges.) It shouldn't be that much and if you're telecined film is letterboxed in 4:3, it will be a lot less so afterwards!
You can also select all your clips, assuming they are all the same dimensions, and adjust the (Video > Transform > ) Scale in "one throw" (if you turn down the disclosure triangle you can adjust width and height independently—I am assuming that since you want it to fit, you don't mind minor stretching.)

My query prompts does not appear in the Query prompt order list!

Dear colleagues,
All of my query prompts does not appear in the Query prompt order list in properties of the query. It seems random which of them that appears there and not.
This makes it impossible for me to control or change the order of prompts, instead they order themselves alphabetically.
Is this some kind of bug? Is there a fix for this problem?

We use Edge.
Correction- we use Enterprise, changed a few months ago!
By the way, we heard about a bug that probarly causes the problem.
If the query has ever had a prompt containing 'Between', all prompts created afterwards will not appear in the prompt order list! Even if the between-prompt is deleted.. We still havent heard about a fix for this, please contact me if you hear anyting. It is not an option to create all the queries from scratch again!

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

I was very worried losing all my medical stuff on my iPad Air 2, plus i have nothing to use for the next day! So i have to try all the possible things i read on the internet!! And this worked on my part (Thank God, and thank you Google)
Perform a hard reboot
Hold down the Home button and Power button on your iPhone or iPad and keep holding them until you see the Apple logo. Once you do, you can let go. When your device boots back up, go ahead and check to see if the apps have started re-downloading. If they still appear to be stuck, continue on.

During the upgrade all bookmarks are gone. There does not appear to be a saved file of the bookmarks.
