During upgrade, will it keep all apps?

If I upgrade to Leopard do I need to reinstall all my applications including Parallels? I currently have Max OS X version 10.4.11.

You can boot from the external drive and make sure it's working well, then insert the Leopard DVD and launch the installer. It will tell you to restart your Mac and boot from the DVD. Run the installer and it should show you two drives that you pick from to Upgrade.
Or
Boot from the Install DVD and tell it to install Leopard. The installer will list both drives, and since there is the same Tiger installation on both drives you will be offered a choice of which drive to install to. Then the options for the type of installation are available, and choose to upgrade the drive.
Or
You can even insert the DVD, and when it is mounted, go to System Preferences/Startup Disk/ and choose the DVD and click on the restart button.
Use whatever method you feel most comfortable with, they all work the same. Leopard has to install from a booted DVD.
After the installation you repair your permissions by using Disk Utility then run the OS 10.5.7 Combo update you could have already downloaded from here:

Then run Software Update to get the latest versions and bug fixes for your Apple Programs. I'd run all of the updates before using any of your programs.
Meanwhile, your original working copy of Tiger can be booted back into, if Leopard hits the fan...

You will keep the apps and printers, but they may or may not work.
Quicken for Mac is gone for example because it requires Rosetta to run. Lion does not support Rosetta which may lead to some older printer/scanner software to no longer function.

Simply connect an external hard drive to it. Format it if it's not labeled as made for Mac using Disk Utility.
I'd recommend backing it up using Time Machine. Your Macbook should ask you if you want this drive to be used for Time Machine....you do.
Once the backup is done you can, later on, use the backup drive to migrate everything to your new iMac.

App store app will not show "all apps up to date." Does anyone know if this is a result of downloading ios7 on an iphone 4?

2 days ago I downloaded ios7 onto my iphone 4. Every time I update an app, that app stays in the window that is supposed to say "all apps are up to date." I've tried all the fixes, including turning the phone off and on; signing in and out of the app store; resetting the phone etc. Is this a glitch in the ios7 system? Is anyone else out there experiencing this problem? Does anyone have a solution? Thanks

I know VLC makes an iPad player (or used to anyway, they might have removed it for some reason), but the real champion when it comes to ripped media is CineXplayer. I'm not sure how or why, but he offers superb play-back on almost all my content.
He does sometimes have trouble with audio-codecs... and on my first gen-ipad he lags on 1080p playback. But I think that's a hardware limitation due to the tiny RAM chip they put in it, more so than a software limitation.

If you didn't encrypt your backup and it still requires a password it sounds like your backup is corrupted.
Aren't your apps and music still in itunes? I don't understand why you can't just resync.

Changing apple id but keeping all apps from other id

I am afraid that they are also getting the same apps that I download on my iphone.
So, I want to change apple Id on my iphone but I do not want to lose all the apps and data associated with my current id. I want all these apps to remain on my iphone . How can I do this?

If you change your Apple ID the apps you currently have can stay, but you will not be able to update them in the future. Appls are permanently tied to the ID underwhich they were downloaded.
Simply make a new Apple ID, and then go down the apps in Settings and each one that uses an Apple ID has to have the ID changed. Go to the Stores, App and iTumes, and click Apple ID > Sign Out of the stoes. Then delete the current ID and put in the new one, and then Sign In to the stores with that ID.

I have all my material in the ProRes Codec on a seperate drive now. The project itself was kept or rather duplicated, the bin structure etc stayed the same but is linking to the newly created files. The playback and workflow is fluent. I am happy!
Time info: For about 120 GB of material the codec change process took 25 hours.

I plugged my iPhone in to put some music on but it said that there was a problem and couldn't be read properly so it required a system restore. I want to know if I will lose all of my game save data if they are connected through Game Center.

You can try a restore from a backup first. That should have no affect on your data. It is when you do a restore as a new device that you will lose all of your data, game data, etc.

Will Keynote keep all animations from a PPT file?

I have a PPT file on my Mac that I created. Having an insanely hard time getting it to convert to DVD.

Only if the fonts, animations and transitions used in the PowerPoint file are compatible with Keynote. Many are not so you will need to test it thoroughly.

IPod Touch Will not Sync all apps.. in preview.

You can not transfer apps (or any other item except data) from one account to another, you will need to use the old account in order to update anything bought or downloaded from it.
For the data just save it all back to your Mac and then migrate it to the new account.

How do I close all apps at once

The shutdown procedures in Lion are broken (IMHO). Shutdown should mean shutdown, not sleep/standby. This is a powerful computer, not some cheap portable toy. Multiple apps is not a bolt on but a norm.
In another thread there seems to be no apparent way around Lion not closing apps on shutdown After another 5+minute boot time (white screen of death?) I am getting fustrated. Apps I do not want to load insist on loading without asking because shutdown does not close the apps correctly.
Does anybody know of a scripting way that will automatically close all apps gracefully upon shutdown?

No. You have to swipe each app up off the screen to close them.
