Dust filling in gaps between parts on iPhone 5

Hi, i have a problem with a lot of things with iphone 5 but the most annoying is about dust. I have a severe amount of dust penetrating the iphone 5 camera cos it got considerable gaps. Is this normal? If not how do i deal with it? Thks

I'll try uploading a better image by tomorrow. If I show this thing in an Apple Store, do you think they might be able to do something about it?

  • Valid Time Support - filling in gaps between non-contiguous records

    Is there an easy (or recommended) way to fill in gaps in records stored in a table with Valid Time Support?
    Here's my scenario. Suppose there are two "valid time" records for Adams in the table, one that's valid from 1/1/2000 to 1/1/2001 and the other that is valid from 1/1/2002 to 1/1/2003. In other words, there's a one year gap between the two records. The user wants to make a single edit to Adams that covers a broader period of time, e.g. 1/1/1999 to 1/1/2005, which should include the gap between these two records (and the gaps before the first record, from 1/1999 to 1/2000, and the gap after the last record, from 1/2003 to 1/2005).
    What's the best way to do this?
    I've tried setting the session time using DBMS_WM.SetValidTime() from 1/1/1999 to 1/1/2005, and then updating the database. But the update only changes the updated column (e.g. salary) without altering the VM_VALID timestamps.
    Initial values:
    NAME      SALARY     WM_VALID
    Adams     30000     (1/1/2000 12:00:00.000000 AM -04:00, 1/1/2001 12:00:00.000000 AM -04:00)
    Adams     31000     (1/1/2002 12:00:00.000000 AM -04:00, 1/1/2003 12:00:00.000000 AM -04:00)
    ==========
    DBMS_WM.SetValidTime(TO_DATE('01-01-1999', 'MM-DD-YYYY'), TO_DATE('01-01-2005', 'MM-DD-YYYY'));
    UPDATE tester_timevalues SET salary = 45000 WHERE name = 'Adams';
    ==========
    Updated values:
    Adams     45000     (1/1/2000 12:00:00.000000 AM -04:00, 1/1/2001 12:00:00.000000 AM -04:00)
    Adams     45000     (1/1/2002 12:00:00.000000 AM -04:00, 1/1/2003 12:00:00.000000 AM -04:00)
    I know this is "works as designed". But is there a relatively painless way to fill in the gaps in the records?

    Thanks, Ben. I will give that approach a try.
    BTW, I have an even better example where detecting and filling "gaps" in the effective dated periods is necessary.
    Suppose I have a link table (GroupMembership) with foreign key links to an Employee and a Group table. Say that there's currently a record in the GroupMembership table indicating that Bob was a member of the Steering Committee group from 1/2002 to 1/2004. The information now needs to be amended to indicate that Bob was really a member from 1/2000 to 1/2006. Even if the GroupMembership table has a column that allows us to UPDATE it, the UPDATE will only affect the 2002 to 2004 range, even though we've called SetValidTime() for the range of 2000 to 2006.
    We'll have to cook up some SQL to handle this case. But this seems like a case where Oracle's Valid Time Support could make this make this type of scenario easier to handle.
    As it works now, Valid Time Support will indicate that there is a record for the requested time period (2000 to 2006), but doesn't indicate that the record's valid time period is different than the requested time period (at least not without some additional work on the developer's part).
    Just a thought...

  • Use of Black Video to Fill Timeline Gaps???

    Hello,
    I have read articles in the past on using black video to fill any gaps between clips in the timeline. Is this a nessecary proceedure? I have rendered plenty of videos without doing this, and had no problems. Premeire will simply render black frames wherever there is not a clip. Does anyone have any pointers on this?
    Thanks,
    Clayton Nolen

    It depends on your specific workflow. There can be advantages to moving clips around when there are black videos keeping everything from inadvertently sliding around and getting out of whack.
    But there is no reason to have black video that in any way makes a difference to the output.

  • Is it normal for there to be a gap between the glass and bezel on iPhone 5?

    As you can see, there's a really small gap between the glass and the rim (frame) whatever you want to call it. I can fit a piece of paper there, as u can see.
    It also collects dust. It's annoying.
    Is it normal and can it be replaced under the 1 year warranty? I bought the device just 2 weeks ago and haven't dropped it or anything.

    Is anyone else seeing this on their phone or is it just me?

    Thanks Chris but according to Pioneer, is was possible with the itunes in 2010.
    It wasn't. (at least as far as setting Part of Gapless album goes. See next para.)
    They claim that itunes will work if you select gapless album, part of a compilation
    Selecting Gapless album does not make it gapless. (which is likely that now this option is removed - to not confuse people)
    The ONLY thing that option did was tell iTunes to NOT crossfade consecutive songs from same gapless album IF you had crossfade enabled.
    -> http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1797
    Setting the gap to 0 is what made it "seem" gapless.
    Perhaps it is not working as it used to.
    Try a slower burn speed.
    and used itunes to convert them to mp3
    Dont know why they suggest this.
    Simply use the WAV file. Then there will be no loss (as there is when converted to MP3).

    Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store. The phone has a 1 year warranty. If it's no longer under warranty, a replacement is $269.

  • White dust & lint under or between the layers of my iPhone 3G touchscreen

    I have white dust & lint under or between the layers of the touchscreen? More of the "white dust" seems to be contained in the lower 1/3 of my iPhone 3G. I ran a test by putting up a large "black color" wallpaper to see the detail of the dust. It's not as easy to see in a "white" or browser background.
    1. Will Apple let me get a new iPhone 3G because of the dust?
    How can I get it out?
    Is it coming from the large Apple usb apple connector at the bottom of the iPhone, maybe from sliding in & out of my pocket?

    Its possible. If the dust is a result of a defect then they will probably replace it. Make an appointment at your nearest genius bar and discuss the issue.
    The worst they can say is no.

  • Gap between glass and bezel on iPhone 5?

    So guys, I purchased my iPhone 5 this Saturday and, having not dropped, banged, or anything of the sort to my phone since then, I noticed this gap between the glass pane at the top of the phone's back and the bezel surrounding the device.
    I am so completely OCD about things like this, and so everytime I pick up my phone, I have to look at it... I hate it. I have looked at several other white iPhone 5s in person, and none have this issue. I am debating wether to take it to the Apple Store or not.
    Also, the sleep/wake and volume buttons feel extremely loose and they were not on either of the other devices I held.

    What if I purchased the phone from an AT&T store, not an Apple Store? Will that affect anything? And how long do I have the warranty until (I have a normal warranty, not extended)?
    ^Sorry for all the questions!

  • IPhone 5 screen has visible gap between vertical pixel columns...

    Hi, i might be nitpicking the issue but my new iPhone 5 (White) has a visible gap between each pixel colum (vertical only). Ever since the iPhone 4 came out I was amazed by how "sharp" everything looked and even the smallest text would barely be very crisp and legible. We have two iPhone 5's in the family and the newest one built week 21 of 2013 has this annoying visible vertical gap. It's mostly noticable on solid lighter colors. The older 4 & 5 phones are as crisp as always. I've shown it to several people and they have been able to spot the difference. Has anyone else noticed this? I've checked out a few display models at the Apple Store and half of them seem to be like mine, the other half are not. I'm thinking the ones that are like mine must all be fitted with the same display supplier or there might be a video chip issue of some sort. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    No , it's common at least I got this issue. I just replaced my iphone due to power butto failure and now I my replacement unt exactly like what ts stated. When you stare on the screen it's quite hard to notice, it's visible when move your eyes or the phone left right. It's very clear on grey and blue color.
    I think it's not screen defective but lower cost LCD vendor , I got this kind of issue on my replacement dell LCD too( Samsung ) then I straight ask for lg screen which is same brand as original and no such problem.
    Btw I will still ask for replacement from apple

  • How do I define gap between tracks in playlists?

    how do I define gap between tracks in a playlist in iTunes? (So that the gaps will be a part of the playlist after syncronizing to an iPhone.)
    This is for tracks imported from LogicPro, not ripped from a CD.
    Thanks for answer

    Since iTunes has no such feature, the way to do it is to create short tracks of silence.  Add them to your iTunes library, and insert them as separators between other tracks in the playlist.  You can use the same track multiple times in the same regular playlist.
    I have not used Logic Pro, but I am fairly sure it can be used to create a short track of silence.

  • How to control gaps between JPanel

    I have some problem controlling the gaps in my application.
    A main JPanel. Inside has a JScrollPane, which inside has one or more JPanel. The internal JPanel uses GroupLayout to lay the buttons and labels.
    The top JPanel has a setSize(900,900).
    Everything comes out fine but the gap between the internal JPanels are a bit problematic. If the JPanels are only a few, the gaps between them are huge and unsightly.
    Where and how do I control the gaps, or have a fix gap size?
    I tried but can't seem to get it.
    Thanks in advance.
    Here's a part of the code
    JPanel p = new JPanel();
    p.setLayout(new GridLayout(**number of internal JPanel**,0));
    for(*looping for internal JPanel*)
    *creating Buttons and Labels and stuff*
                   JPanel ip = new JPanel();
                   // GroupLayout
                   GroupLayout glQ = new GroupLayout(ip);
                   glQ.setAutoCreateGaps(true);

                   GroupLayout.SequentialGroup hGroupQ = glQ.createSequentialGroup();
                   GroupLayout.SequentialGroup vGroupQ = glQ.createSequentialGroup();
                   hGroupQ.addGroup(glQ.createParallelGroup().addComponent(Label1).addComponent(Label2));
                   hGroupQ.addGroup(glQ.createParallelGroup().addComponent(TextField1).addComponent(TextField2));
                   glQ.setHorizontalGroup(hGroupQ);
                   vGroupQ.addGroup(glQ.createParallelGroup(GroupLayout.Alignment.BASELINE).addComponent(Label1).addComponent(TextField1));
                   vGroupQ.addGroup(glQ.createParallelGroup(GroupLayout.Alignment.BASELINE).addComponent(Label2).addComponent(TextField2));
                   glQ.setVerticalGroup(vGroupQ);
                   ip.setLayout(glQ);
                   p.add(qnsp);
    JScrollPane sp = new JScrollPane(p);

    I think the issue lies with the gridlayout.
    As it will make full use of the space. If there's only a few JPanels, it will make full use of it and result in huge gaps in between JPanels.
    e.g. JPanel with gridlayout with 2 buttons. The 2 buttons fill up the whole JPanel ending up with 2 huge buttons.

  • Gaps between chrome bezel and screen

    I just noticed that I have 2 gaps between the chrome bezel and the screen of the phone. It's not noticeable in bright light, like when I'm outside, but when I get a call or message at night I notice the light from the phone coming through the two gaps. Is there anything I can do? Will the warranty cover this? I know it is only two small gaps, but it just really bothers me knowing that there is a problem with my iPhone.

    I have been through 7 Iphone 3G's and if that is your only issue than my advice is to leave it alone. Out of all the phones, I have still been unable to recieve a phone in perfect condition. The one I have now was out of a brand new box and still has very minor light leakage and a few pieces of dust under the screen. The dust is only noticable in direct sunlight. So just to give you a warning if its a problem that you don't notice that often then just let it be. If its a problem that bugs you then exchange it, but that doesn't mean the next phone won't have the same problem. I think all 7 phones I have received has had some sort of light leakage. Good luck!!

  • Zen Micro: Is the gap between tracks nor

    I bought a Zen Micro mainly because I was told that it does not insert a gap between tracks. The trouble is that mine does insert a tiny, but incredibly annoying, blip between tracks.
    I would really appreciate if another Zen Micro owner could tell me if this gap is normal or there is something wrong with my unit. I have tried 3 different levels of firmware, various formats and bit rates, but each time media player plays tracks seamlessly, but the Zen Micro inserts the gap.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ian

    There is a somewhat technical reason as to why mp3 files cannot play seamlessly. Its because each part of the mp3 is split up into frames. You can only have frames, you can't have half frames or /4 frames. So I guess when a song ends, the little gap is the rest of the frame filling in space so it can be read properly. There is only one player that I know of that can actually skip the blank part of the frame and play gaplessly, I think its one of the Rio players but I can't remember to be honest
    If I'm completely wrong in my explanation, someone please correct me
