Dust in the touch disp

after a few month I sadly have to recognize there is dust in my display, in the lower left corner.
it'ss not much and when the light is on it'ss not noticable but i?m frightend that it get worse. anybody the same experience?

I've got a couple of bits of dust under mine, too.
Apparently spraying compressed air into the headphone socket sometimes helps - you can buy cans of it meant for cleaning keyboards etc. Personally I haven't tried this, but others say it works.
Alternati'vely you can open the machine up and clean it off manually, but it's probably not worth voiding the warranty for a little thing like that.

  • How to clean the dust inside the screen of the iPod Touch?

    Hi everybody,
lately some dust entered inside the screen of my iPod Touch.
At first it looked like one or two pixels were gone bad, but it is just some annoying dust.
The problem is that I cannot figure out any way to remove it.
I tried a gentle blow from the connector hole but the result was worse.
Any idea on how to clean the screen inside?
I hope it is not necessary to go to an Apple Center and pay for the "cleaning service".
    Regards,
    Andrea

    It sounds safe to use
'Falcon's® "Professional" Dust-Off® "XL" compressed-gas is the perfect product for removing dust from your color transparencies before making scans or copy slides; it's also great for removing dust from cameras, lenses, computers and other electronic equipment. Each 12 oz. disposable can comes with its own trigger value and a 4.75" nozzle extension (a red tube) that allows you to place precise bursts of compressed air just where you want it.'
Check the directions on the back... also check the contents. Normally anything like that will inform you of contaminants harmful to delicate electrical devices.
If its just compressed air make sure you keep the can well back from the source.. and unplug the G5 (take it somewhere you don't mind dust.. there no point doing this in situe, just for it to suck it back in again!)
Also.. as mentioned.. keep the can upright (as the air is decompressed the can gets very cold)

  • Particles of dust under the glass of multi-touch screen

    Dear Sir,
I bought iPhone 3G in HK yesterday. After I opened the box and activated my iPhone, I have found 2 dark spots on the middle of screen. At first, I thought they are dead pixels. However, after taking a look carefully, I think they are particle of dust under the glass of touch screen. How come? from manufacturer process? because I just open it from the box.
Is there any warranty from Apple cover this problem?
What is the method you may help me?
Change the new machine or fix it?
Is there anything I can do by myself?

No sir. There is nothing that you can do your best bet is to bring it back to your provider, or if there is a apple store over there bring it back to them. I know that apple will exchange your unit for this issue. It is from the manufacturer process it seems that they do not have a dust free environment. So just exchange it.

  • I have dust under the screen of  my ipod touch,

The 3G iPods and earlier can get dust between the screen and the LCD screen.  See:

  • Dust under the zen Touch'es scr

I was wondering, whether I could make Creative take a look at my player, because there is dust under the screen. I mean, could this be a warrenty service issue? I asked already Creative customer support in Germany ( e-Mail), but it will take longer because of the weekend and some fests in the beginning of the next week, so I hope I could get some hints hier too. I has been 45 days since I have it and it is getting more and more. It is quite annoying to look at it. I do not want to experiment removing it alone, as I could damage the player and void the warranty; what is more important is that I would like to have a permanent protection against dust.
By the way is this normal? I did not observe any dust under other peoples' players. Nobody is posting smth aboout it, so I presume it is just me.
    Thank you

Here are some links for you its not just you. As you are in Deutschland I would suggest that you may want to return it to the shop you bought it from and ask for a replacement if you feel it is excessi've.
(that is far more straightforward than dealing with a manufacturer) As for protecting it from dust I intend to buy a unit in the next couple of weeks so I would be interested too in preventing this problem.

  • Dust in a Touch 2g.

I have an older Touch 2g. It works well but over time some dust has got in between the glass and screen. This is not normally a problem except in bright light when it is annoying. Is it possible to clean this area ie can the touch be 'opened' to clean inside?

Yes. Third-party places like this can do it.

  • Dust & Lint under touch screen but visable

Anybody getting dust & lint under the screen where you can see it in the backlight but you can't get to it to clean it off?

I am. I just started noticing it this week.
I've had my iPhone 3G since it came out and have always had a screen protector and plastic case on it. When I slide it into my jeans pocket, it goes in head first so the dock connector is always facing up toward the top of my pocket. I usually clean out the dock connector area with a puff of air. I took off the screen protector today to try and clean the dust but to no avail. I have not noticed any issues/problems with the sensitivity of the touch screen
My iPhone case has no dock connector cover. Should I take it to an Apple store to have them look at it. Any one else take their iPhone in?

    Hi!
is the cleaning of the imac isight a garanti issu?

Every computer will soner or later suck som dust into the machinery, strange that Apple didn't think of that!?

    //Parden my bad english//The swede

    Hi, Znozy from Sweden
hold a second: electrostatic discharges ?? I hope you are kidding, but i'm afraid you are not. As far as i know you should NEVER NEVER have electrostatic discharges CAUSED BY THE COMPUTER !! Very simply: the electronics is very very sensitive to this kind of stuff (that is the reason why one should first discharge onself before touching anything in the opened computer).
now: there are two ways of how to produce discharges: either you yourself got charged, or the computer. 1) You can accumulate electrostatic charge on your body by friction with insulators, e.g. a sheet of plastic, or your chair on wheels rolling over a carpet. the housing of the iMacs, however, is such that there is no metallic part where this charge could flow to. this leaves only the other possibility: the imac builds up electrostatic charges.
To my understanding of electronics and computers (and i have a lot to do with this) : THIS IS NOT NORMAL!
    Please, do the following:
test that if you are discharging yourself BEFORE you touch the iMac, that this does no longer produce the discharge at the computer. (You can usually discharge yourself by touching a heating radiator).
if this test reveals that there is still electrical charge somewhere on the iMac: stop from using it, back up everything, and hand it over to APPLE to make it safe:
Safe for the machine, but also safe for you!!
    Please, post back!

  • The touch screen is not operating while opening safari

the touch screen is not operating while opening safari in ipad

My favorites in in order ...iCab, Mercury, Atomic, Dolphn HD. iCab is a great choice with a ton of features. It really leaves Safari in the dust - IMO. I think I tired Terra at one point but I no longer have it so I really can't remember what it was like.
Any browser can freeze or crash on you once in a while on a device like this that has limited RAM like the iPad has. If you clear the cookies and the cache, you should be good to go again.

  • The touch on my iphone 3gs does not work. the only time it works is when i slide it to turn it off. I've tried resetting it multiple times and it will still not work. I need help!

Hello, I've got a question about my Iphone 3gs. Well one day i woke up and i tried to slide to unlock my phone but the touch was unresponsive. So, i turned off my phone and back on, the unlock screen came back one and same problem happened. The only time the touch works is when I slide to turn off my phone. When people call me, i can't answer. When people text me, I can't answer. I do have the latest update for the phone. I've looked everywhere on the internet and have got no answers. I have dropped my phone a couple of times and it does have some cracks on the screen. Please help!

Your only chance besides getting it serviced would be setting it up as new device:

I got the TouchPoint while i touching the touch screen, and i want to get the size of the Touching point.
I tried tp.Size but is zero.
    Thank you.

If the Size is always 0 in a TouchUp event handler, your touch screen hardware may be the issue. Appearantly some touch screens report sizes in a non-standard way and then you cannot really get the size of the TouchPoint. Please refer to the following

  • I wiped down the touch pad on my MacBook Pro and now it's not working well

I wiped down the touch pad with a damp cloth on my MacBook Pro and not it's not working very well.  What should I do to fix the problem?

Let it dry, it will come around. You just chilled it a little most likely, unless the cloth was very damp....
    Next time use rubbing alcohol.
It removes the oils and grease and dries fast too.
So your have appy to the cloth, wipe, flip the cloth and wipe up the dirt and grime, then start the process with a new clean section of cloth, else you place the grime back on.

  • The touch screen is not working when I am in the Music app of my iPod Touch.  How do I get it to begin working?  It just stopped today.

The touch screen is not working when I am in the Music app of my iPod Touch.  How do I get it to begin working?  It just stopped today.
Does anyone know what I can do?  I am unable to switch screens, and I can not see the track that is playing.  The only was I can switch between songs is to use the controls on my headphones.

Try the stamdard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

I can't open apps on my iPhone.  The touch screen doesn't work.  I have restored it already but it still won't work.  What can I do.

If the touch screen is not having any response then you probably have a hardware failure. Take your phone to an Apple Store or authorised service provider to have it checked.
