hay guys,
my laptop screen won't close. I can't fold my laptop. i have to let my laptop open for all time. it;s terrible. i can't even chat with one of the hp technician. it keeps giving me error. I'm stuck. I have no idea how to repair it.
If you guys can help me .. there are some photos that can help you understand what's happening here !
it's hinge problem - outer case or inter case is the problem - i think

half an hour later i found at the problem and fixed (temporarely) the problem.
one of the hinges is not working anymore, just like a car ball hinge.
to fix it:
1. unscrew the screen cover and then detach it from the screen (the screws are covered by some plastic or rubber protection)
2. unscrew the hinge and then pull it sideways until it breaks loose. I used some force, but tried to be careful. (picture 2 and three)
3. put the cover back on the screen.
4. either try to get a replacement hinge (the part number can be seen only partlally) or use the screen only with one hinge, which I did. When closing it or adjusting it, just be carefull to hold with the hand the side without a hinge. When fixed it stays there as before.

Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If there is, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Genius screen won't close down on main app store screen

Have now turned off genius in App Store but despite clicking on 'done' it won't close down. Any suggestions as the App Store now cannot be accessed?

I just turned on Genius for Apps and am having the same problem; no matter how many times I touch close, the screen doesn't close. Therefore, I cannot access the App Store. Can anyone help with this?

Mail won't close, can't shut down my MacBook Pro

Dear Apple Community,
since 10.7.4 Mail won't close sometimes. I use mail sometimes in Full-Screen, sometimes in the standard mode. If I'm finished with Mail, I close mail using "cmd+w" & "cmd+Q" or "cmd+Q". The programm is closed (window is gone), but the little blue bubble stays under the Mail icon at the dock. If I want to shut down my MacBook Pro (early 2011) I get the message "Can't shut down. You have to end Mail."
This *****. Any suggestions for a fix?

I had this issue and got frustrated having to force quit all the time.
I usually quit all programs with shortcut keys.
MAIL now quits everytime if I just click Mail-Quit Mail
Don't use shortcuts to quit it and it will be fine

Adobe flash player installer screen won't close

I was going to install it and found it was going to install Google chrome, and I didn't want that. So, I cancelled it and now I can't get the installer screen off my computer! Any help?

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Nothing in those but the Flash Player plugin.

Touch screen won't work - can it be fixed?

My i touch was dead, so I recharged and restored it using the backup in itunes. It looks 'normal' now and turns on and off, but the screen is non-responsive to touch. There's no Apple store nearby, so I just want to know if it can be fixed - at least enough for me to access my calendar. Thanks, Wendy

You only possible fix is to try restoring to factory defualts/new iPod.

Gnome splash screen won't close with Beryl

Gnome splash screen doesn't autoclose, mouse click required. This is annoying but not a big problem.
But when beryl-manager autostarts with Gnome then splash cannot be closed with mouse click at all. I have to switch to Metacity, click on splash and then switch to Beryl. This is really annoying.
Do every Gnome+Beryl users have the same issue?

Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Cache. Restart the iPad. Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears - slide to the right to shut off. To power up again, hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Try Safari again.
You can reset your network settings. Go to Settings>General>reset Network Settings. Restart the iPad as described above, go to Settings>WiFi>select Your Network Name and then enter your password and see if you can connect to the internet.
You can also close open apps. Double tap the home button and your recent apps appear in the task bar. Tap and hold down on one of the app icons until they all begin to wiggle. Then tap the minus signs in the left corner of all of the apps to close them. Tap the screen outside of the task bar. Restart the iPad like I described above.
You can also reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons - try Safari again.

The iTunes Popup Screen Won't Go Away On My iPod. Help :c

There's an usb and the iTunes logo on my iPod and it won't go away. I've tried turning it off and back on but it still does it. Also, I've tried pluging it into my laptop and taking it out, as well as, "ejecting" manually on my iTunes window on my laptop, but nothing seems to work. Please Help Me Out. /:

The screen is telling you to restore the iPod via iTunes. You have to do that.

Well, I downloaded Skype. Then, i sign in to my account. And an error pops up on my computer screen that said "Skype can't connect. Get help fixing this problem". Someone help me fix this?

Anyone else having background apps as a black screen tab that won't close? The time and AT

Has anyone been having apps in the background that won't close? The tab that normally swiping up to close the app won't work and stays as a blank black screen showing the time, signal strength , and cell carrier at the top, but nothing else. I can't keep shutting my phone down all day to make this stop. Please help if you know why this happens and/or how to stop it or close the app

Don't mix AWT and Swing widgets. Fix that, then ask again, preferably in the Swing section.

IOS7 installed OK to my iPhone 4S and worked OK for a while but I have somehow managed to completely jam my iPhone 4s. The touch screen won't work except for up and down gestures (some of the time). I can't make or answer calls, I can't even power if off. I can't access the hardward ID which Apple support seems to require for Chat.
It might have happened when I was accessing my camera bypassing the lock screen!
All I know is that the thing is now useless and it looks like I will have to wait for the battery to run down to see if powering it back up afterwards will solve the problem.

I have since discovered the "hold down home key and power button" together for a few seconds and this seems to have worked .... phew!

My 4s phone is not responding to my swiping it , I need to unlock it to go to iTunes to see if I'm backed up but phone/ screen won't unlock what can I do?

My 4s screen won't let me swipe I've tried turning all off and on , tried plugging into Mac to back up but am unable to as I can't unlock phone if I had screen replaced would that help.

Tabs won't close,I can open a new one, mouse works on every thing else. ff 36.0 winXP

When I click on a tab to close it I can see the red X press down but it won't close. I can open a new tab and I can click from tab to tab and the windows change. My mouse is working on every thing else, just can't close any tabs. There are six tabs open. This has been an ongoing.problem that seems to be getting more frequent. I usually do a restart and the problem goes away, but only for a short time. I don't
know where to start to fix it. I did notice the automatic updates in windows is turned off. Could that be part of the problem? Should it be turned on? I'm using Windows XP Professional version 5.1.2600 service pack 3. Firefox version 36, just refreshed. Any suggestions?
