DV cam picture only one session.

I have an MDD Dual G4 (1.25ghz) with 10.5.1.
I use an external mini DV camera. When I power-up the computer I can use iChat only once with sound and picture. When I quit iChat (or turn off the camera), and then restart iChat I do not see any picture or any sound. iChat appears to 'see' a camera, but the preview window stays black. There is no sound either. The preference pane 'sees' the camera but that's it.
Remarkably, Photobooth has no problems. I have a picture there. Nor did this problem ever occur in Tiger.
The only way that I can get iChat to work again with sound and picture is through a restart of the computer.
I have not seen anyone mention this problem in any forum. Any ideas are appreciated on solutions that do not involve a restart.

Ok.
With some Mac Towers you get just 2 Firewire 400Mb ports.
They are controlled by the same controller ( a bit like Daisy-chaining two devices) the two ports will then run at the slowest devices speed.
On Some towers you get a firewire port (400Mb) on the front as well.
This gets a separate Controller and therefore plugging one device in the front and one in the back can solve the problem.
Now Firewire 800Mb is obviously faster that 400Mb ones.
The camera is slower than the Disk which you now seem to imply is a 400Mb streaming device.
I was suggesting that the Disk went to the 800Mb port and the camera to the 400Mb Port so that the hard drive did not lose out as much.
I am not sure if there is just one controller for the 400Mb and 800Mb ports or not. The System Profiler should make it clearer in it's display of the Firewire items.

So I have most pictures in different photo streams from my other devices. When I try to add a picture to my slide, only one photo stream will show and the one that shows isn't even created by me, if that matters. Restricting the user to only one session. Is this possible ?

We have a web enabled Forms6i application running on Unix AIX server. user logs on to this application through a application logon screen.
We have a requirement where we have to restrict user from logging on more than once to the application.
- We thought of implementing this functionality through a database field which get set and resets each time a user logs on and logs off the application. Issue here is when do u reset the field. ? Is there a trigger on form which fires no matter how user exits from the system , including PC crahs ?
- is there a better way of handling this functionality.
Any help will be appreciated.

Try to use Oracle profiles
create profile test limit
sessions_per_user 1;
then assign this profile to the users you want them to have one session only. Moreoever, you have to change the parameter LIMIT_RESOURCES=TRUE in the init.ora parameter file.
After changing the parameter file, shutdwon the database and open it again to let the profiles take effect on the user session.

I just bought iphone 5 2days ago and i found something wierd with my speaker, when i plsy music or youtube or whatever but the sound come out only one side of speaker. Left speaker can't hear anything, is it normal?? Or it broken?

There is only one speaker. The left side, next to the headset jack, is a microphone.

How to install Creative Cloud in only one session?

the situation is the following one:
I have a Creative Cloud license and it's installed in my laptop (Windows 7)
I would like to install Creative Cloud also in my work (a classroom) but in this place a lot of people works . I have a session in windows 8 with admin permission but I dont know how (if is's possible) to avoid that other people uses this software with my account.
I wonder that it's possible but I am not sure how do it.

If you are installing the products on a machine that would be shared , then once you are done with your class , you can always deactivate the product and that should terminate the subscription on that particular computer and resetting your counter back to 1 (keeping in mind that you have only got the product installed on one machine except for this one ) .

Two cameras, but only one works at a time, need help

I've gone over the messages here but not found any answers to my type of problem. I have two WVC54GCAs both have static IPs on my lan and I can view them both fine from there.
I forwarded the port for one to 47624 and the other to 47625 in my router at home and in the camera configuration I specified to use these alternate ports instead of the default 80 port. When I get in to work and try to view them over the internet by their ip address and port# (e.g. http://22.22.22.222:47624) I get a timeout error, but I can see one if I go to port 22.22.22.222:80 (even though the port I specified in the camera setup was an alternate port). I used dyndns open port testing tool (http://www.dyndns.com/support/tools/openport.html) which shows 47624 and 47625 are both open ok.
I can log into my router on 22.22.22.222:8080 from work and the router logs show that the dyndns tool connected to the router via these ports upon testing. I was using a Netgear router and thought that might be the problem, so went out and got a Linksys wRT54G2 router to see if that worked better, but have the same issue as with the Netgear. Here's the weird part, if I go into the router from work and change one of the cameras to forward to port 80 instead of the alternate port I'd set for it, I can view that camera on port 80 despite the camera config still set to use an alternate port. So then when I take the first camera off port 80 in my router and change the second one to port 80, I can view the second one as well that way. I have Comcast as my ISP and a Motorola SB5100 cable modem and can't figure out why I am unable to bring them up over the internet using the alternate port settings I specified. I've spent a lot of time on this, I'd really appreciate any help or other suggestions on what to do.

As far as I know, all Comcast modems are just bridges...no firewalls in them at all.... The other possibility is that your IT dept at work is blocking the traffic...have you tried this from any other place outside your LAN?

Allow only one session per registered user

Hi,
we plan to implement a security module in our application that will display at login time if the user has other sessions still open and to give him the possibility to proceed and then to automatically purge all the other sessions he has, or to stop as maybe he has the other session just in another browser / another computer.
The APEX_WORKSPACE_SESSIONS view shows very useful information in this matter, but beside the fields in it, it would be very useful to have also the last access/activity time for that session. How is best to get this? Join with the APEX_WORKSPACE_ACTIVITY_LOG view like this?

I have an SR opened with Oracle support and here is what they say:
It looks like we are hitting
Bug 7587013 - INSERTING AND DELETING WWV_FLOW_DATA CAUSES DEADLOCK, which is also related to
Bug 6618662 - APEX APPEARS TO BE CAUSING DEADLOCK - CASE COLLECTION.
To further clarify the issue, these DML statements from the APEX engine are used when rendering classic reports (and in the computation of the pagination set).
There is no fix yet for the issue, however the frequency of the issue decreases dramatically in the last version (which you currently have).
The issue should be fixed in Apex release 4.1
It appears that the only way this deadlock can occur is if two requests for the same APEX session are made concurrently.
This can be due to a user getting impatient and hitting their refresh button in their browser, or a user opening up a new tab in their browser and concurrently running the same page with the same report.
Not really helpful IMHO, suggesting to wait for a version that will not be release soon :(. If any of the APEX team engineers / PM is interested I can dig deeper into the issue and isolate the whole chain of requests from an user that hits this error, which unfortunately appears more and more often lately :(. I need to find at least an workaround if not a fix as now I get daily at least 7 such ORA-60 Deadlock detected issues.
Just last week I was able to produce a nice testcase for a bug in APEX_MAIL, and prod dev made the patch in less than a day, with all the timezone difference issues. I was pretty impressed when getting that quick the patch 9414444 (thanks Joel :) ).

Call transaction in new session (but only one)

Dear all,
as a hotspot functionality I would like to open a new transaction in a new session. For that reason, I use the FM ABAP4_CALL_TRANSACTION with the option STARTING NEW TASK.
However I would like to restrict the new tasks in a way that only one session is used (no matter how often the user clicks the hotspot. Kind of like the ABAP Help in the workbench.
I checked the class CL_IMC_MODE to see if it could work as a new internal session but the new mode dumped when I pressed the back button and according to the dump Statements that closes the internal mode unexpectedly like LEAVE are not allowed. Since I call standard transactions (like VA03) I can hardly prevent that. Did I miss something or do you have any other idea how I could solve my problem?

Here is a sample code that takes in a sales order number, displays the document number as hotspot and when the user clicks on the hotspot, it opens a new window for displaying the order. No matter how many times the user clicks on the hotspot, it will only display one window for VA03. I hope this solves your problem.

How to realize only one identical remoteApp per session per user per computer?

If a terminalserver 2008 R1 is configured for only one session per user, everything works like it should if the user connects using the 'normal' remotedesktop session. A second connect with the same credentials kicks the first connect.
If a remoteApp is used instead of the 'normal' connect, it's possible to start multiple instances of this app within one user a least from one computer. mstsc do run multiple times and seem to link in the existent connection without kicking it. How to change
that?

The started RemoteApp checks the mutex of all started processes and stops herself if a process is found with the same mutex. This prevents multiple instances of this app within one user with the same sessionID. If a terminalserver is configured for only
one session per user, this RemoteApp shouldn't start multiple within one user. Using a "normal" remote desktop session the app doesn't start more than one time, I tested it. Used as RemotApp, the app starts multiple! Possibly I'm able to change this behaviour

In connection string the pooling attribute is true by default.
Scenario 1:
If I specify externally(through connection string it behaves very badly) like pooling=true in the connection string. It will create more than one session.
Scenario 2 :
If I donot specify pooling attribute in connection string it will create only one session and it will consume the same session for all the instance.

Canon MR-14EX II only one side fires

Hello guys! I'm sure there is a simple solution to my problem but I can't figure it out myself. I've purchased Canon MR-14EX II Macro ring flash and when I try to take pictures, only one side of the flash fires. What am I doing wrong? Thank you!

I have Ver 1 and had an even older model so I suspect setting are similar. Check your manual for the section on "Setting the Flash Ratio". You can turn off either side should you want to, which may explain your problem. .

Hey Iskander,
Check out the following KnowledgeBase called Accessing Multiple USB Cameras That Have the Same Name, and it looks like you have the same issue of having multiple cameras with the same name. The problem lies with your specific USB camera's driver in that it is not giving the cameras a unique camera name. There are a couple of solutions in the KB.
Also, since you are using the NI-IMAQ for USB Cameras driver, you will also want to check out some of the Known Issues that are now documented on the download page for the driver. First, this driver only supports acquiring from one USB camera at a single time, so you might want to consider using Firewire or GigE cameras. Second if you are considering using 2 USB cameras, you might be thinking that you can just acquire from one, close its session, then acquire from the other, and then go back and forth by acquiring and closing the sessions each time. But then another issue you will run into, if you do this in your program, is the second known issue of the IMAQ for USB Cameras driver, - Opening and closing a camera session causes a small memory leak, so it is not recommended to do this repeatedly.

You can only import photos from the camera roll into the computer. Is that the album that you are seeing?
Any albums that you create on the device itself (the iPad that is) cannot be transferred to your computer. iPad created albums do not contain copies of your photos but merely pointers to those photos so they do not actually exist in those albums.
