DV capture to FFMpeg to Apple Media Segmenter with success?

Has anyone been able to successfully send output from FFMpeg through the Media Segmenter? I'm capturing from DV on IEEE1394 with dvsave and passing the stream to a FIFO pipe. Then I read from that pipe with FFMpeg and transcode to mpegts with libx264 and libmp3lame. I can send that output through netcat over UDP and play it successfully on another machine or the local machine, but the segmenter doesn't like it. I get errors like:
no start access unit
no first 2 0's in start code
in CheckVideoPesForIFrame, and no payload start
Same type of erros come from at saved file output from FFMpeg and then piped into the segmenter. Any ideas?

What are you asking? Are you saying you do not have Microsoft Windows on your computer? If so, Microsoft Windows is not needed to surf the Internet. Or, are you saying that the site you are surfing to requires Windows Internet Explorer which you do not have?

Captured clips split in several short segments

During capturing the clips split into several segments, some very short. What could be the cause?

This is an HDV camera isn't it? Did you shoot DV on it or HDV? What is it set to output?
The camera should split clips at every shot change, and there will be some loss when that happens, so if the shots are short to start, they will be even shorter.

Can I make an itunes library available to two apple tv's with out a server?

You may see some network storage devices which purport to have an iTunes server. While these can show up in iTunes as shared libraries, AppleTV can't use them as configuring AppleTVs relies on iTunes actually running and entering numeric codes to 'attach' the devices.
While the computer seems to be a logical 'free' media hub, many people don't want a computer on 24/7 or use laptops, so some kind of standalone device would be useful.

I have several friends and family who are looking for a central place to access information from ( Pictures, home movies etc ). So I am considering setting up an OSX Lion Server. There are some other things I can use it for as well.
Here is my question:
If I were to purchase the Apple Remote Desktop with Unlimited licenses, would I be able to install the client software on each of there computers/laptops and have them remote desktop into the server? Or would I have to install the Admin software on each? Do they intend it to be used strictly as one admin to access many clients?
I always could set up a network drive so they can log in and just see the folders they have created with space on the server I provide them. But I want them to be able to log an and actually use it as a Remote Desktop.

Thanks for the feedback. I understand that ARD is meant for Remote Administration, but I was not sure if it could be used for my purpose as well. The reason I was looking to do it this was was because I read several articles online about security and performance issues with setting up VNC and activating screen sharing. Unless I am misunderstood.
As far as people's activities on the server, mostly it is going to be used as a place for them to store their media. I will only allow own person ( Who I trust and I know wont botch the server ), to run applications. Everyone else will be restricted to uploading and downloading content to their designated account on the server as well as a community share on the server.

If somebody have the same questions as i, here i would write some text from the massage of apple support.

Yes it's possible to sync music back from a iPod back into iTunes that (I assume) wasn't purchased on the iTunes Store.
Apple allows iTunes Store purchases on devices to be reversed back into iTunes, just not cd rips and stuff like that. For that it's a one way trip to the device from iTunes.
I likely can't suggest such software here, but if you visit iLounge you can ask what is the latest software that works for your platform.
Really it only takes a mere few minutes to backup your iTunes Library and stick in a few cd/dvd's or a external drive. iTunes even has a menu command for it to make it oh so simple. Please use it and backup all your data.
Hard drives fail, computers burn up, thieves steal, stuff gets forgotten. Plan for something happening because it will.

My current Apple ID, for which all of my content has been downoaded (e.g., music, apps) is associated with a work email address that I will no longer have access to in the near future. In my Apple ID account, I noticed I had two alternate emails listed, one is my .me account and the other is my .gmail account. I use my .gmail account, and it is the primary email I use with friends and family. I noticed both were not verified, and when I tried to, it said they were both associated with other accounts. I was able to log into a separate Apple ID account I must have set up at tone point with my .gmail, and I changed the email address to a new one I created. I also deleted the gmail account from any other Apple-relted account I could think of. I am still gettgin the same error message when I try to add it to my current Apple ID: "This email address is already in use or you may already have an Apple ID associated with this email address. Please try again or sign in using your existing Apple ID."
My concern is this: with FaceTime and now iMessage, it seems more important than ever that I am able to use my correct email address. With iOS5 beta, I cannot enter either my .gmail or.me accounts under "You can be reached for messages at:" as I get an error stating: Unable to verify email because it is already in use."
How can I remedy this issue and assign my .gmail account to my Apple ID?

I just spoke with a technician at Apple. I hsven't been able to verify because the wife has the phone. but he said all that you need to do is:
1) Go to Settings --> iTunes Store and login with your Apple ID and pwd
2) Go to Settings --> iCloud and login with your Apple ID and pwd
seems that the phone requires you to login to the store first...

If the ringtones are on the old device just plug it in and do a transfer of purchases then they will be on the computer to sync to the new device.

Can't sign into apple support communities with icloud apple id

i realise this isn't the right community for this question, but apple don't have a support category called "apple support".
i have that problem where I have an appleid called "frumbert", which I got about 10 years ago. it is and always has been tied to my gmail email address. i used this for about 5 years worth of itunes purchases, then forgot it for a couple of years.
when I got an ipad I also got an icloud account, and stupidly signed up using my gmail email address as my icloud username. it's tied to the same gmail email address as my existing "frumbert" account. i've since made all my itunes and app purchases using my icloud appleid, and it's the one associated with my mac warranties and such.
so two appleid's share the same email address.
i can't sign into apple support commuities with it because I need a new username. i can't create a new username because the email address is tied to an account already (this one, the old one, "frumbert"). An account utilizing this email address already exists. Only one account per email address is allowed on Apple Support Communities. Apple's way of saying you're c-ockblocked!
but I can't also change the "frumbert" account because there's another account with the same email address, my icloud one.
fark! how does one get out of this mess?

I'm having the exact same problem and so are a lot of other people. Apple's solution - shut up and create a new account just for the support community.

How do I get my Apple ID affiliated with my institute?

I work at a University and want to access the new iTunes U course manager (https://itunesu.itunes.apple.com/coursemanager). Does anyone know how I go about getting my apple id affiliated with my institute?
When I try to log into Course Manager I get an error "iTunes Store Account Required". My apple id is my iTunes Store Account, so I assume it is not affiliated with my institute. My apple id is also my developer account, which is linked to my education institute. So I'm not sure what the issue is.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I've tried every way to log in today, using an Apple ID that is registered with the iTunes Store and is associated with our college's iTunes U site as a contributor, then as one that's associated with the public site administrator. This has failed in various ways throughout the day, like others have described.
Examining the debug console in Safari is showing that one of the objects from the login page is giving a 404 Not Found response when you try to log in, leading to the "iTunes Store Account Required" error. I believe something must have broken after they launched this site yesterday, and the varying errors throughout the day would seem to indicate that they're trying to fix it right now.
We'll probably just have to wait until this is repaired.
