DV Pal 4.3 play back problem.

Hi Every One.
Hopefully you can help and put my mind at rest.
I have a music video to be submited to TV.
Out of Final Cut Pro X the video is crisp. When converted in i Movie to You Tube, the video is crisp.
1 of the channel's the video is being submited to require the file to be ... Compression: DV – PAL. Quality: Best. Frame Rate: 25. Scan Mode: Interlaced. Aspect Ratio: 4:3. Dimensions: 720x576 (768x576). Audio -6db ... When I convert the original file from Final Cut Pro X in Compressor 4 to the format the channel require, the video and sound remain crisp on my Mac, even though there has been a conversion from 3.5G to 800MB.
Now, the concern I have, when I play the video back in Quicktime on a PC, the image and sound detirate A LOT, unless I set the Quicktime player in prefrences to "Use High Quality Video Settings When Available", once again in this mode the video and sound remain as crisp as on the Mac.
Should I be concerned that through out all of the conversion processes the video remains, crisp, and sharp, except with the Quicktime issue on a PC as stated above?

Here you go mate, let me know your thoughts. I'm hoping its just a Quick Time settings issue on PC and wont effect playback on TV, as its remained crisp and sharp through out original file from Final Cut, You Tube Conversion and DV Pal 4.3 conversion on my Mac.

Play back problems since the upgrade to iOS

Since the latest iOS upgrade to my 64 GB iPod touch, I've been having play back problems.
Random songs will stop playing at random points....sometimes it just does quiet while the time clicks by.....other times it starts playing the next song, but still showing the current song display and song time line....it's all very strange. Has anyone else been having similiar issues?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

Flash play back problems

we have e-learning which uses flash files. On Friday I
noticed the files would start to play then stop. I thought it was a
browser plug-in issue. cleared the cache got latest flash player
and still does the same thing. I got the same response playing back
on the desktop. plays about 5 frames then stops.
I opened the fla file and when I hit the play button, it does
the same thing, goes about 3 frames and stops. What is this?

Weird, indeed. Its better for u to directly embed the picture
or the text layer in your flash animation...easier and cleaner.
To embed a flash animation in a dw document in a validated
way use flashObject :)

Frame Rate play back problem

Recorded media @ 60 fps. Imported media into fcp. Video plays fast while audio plays ok. What didn't I do?

FCP doesn't really to 1080p60. That's a non-standard format, since there is no delivery system for it. BluRay doesn't do 1080p60, TV doesn't do 1080p60, Web...does, but it is RARE. That format is meant to be used for getting smooth slow motion...slowing those 60fps to 30 or 24.
FCP doesn't import that via log and transfer, which is the normal way of importing. Because it doesn't recognize 1080p60. For this you need ClipWrap2 from divergentmedia.com. It will convert it to ProRes 422 (the format you need to work in FCP).
FCP might work with the footage once you import it, but playing back 1080p60 ProRes...you'll need at least a Firewire 800 drive.
I know of no tutorials, but ClipWrap is very easy to use.

Video play back problem

when i'm playing mp4 video song in my mobile then i face a problem........ when i pause song and back then the screen was jerking and my mobile taking restarted...........

Nokia C5-03 supports mp4 with H.264 simple profile in other words it can't play all mp4 videos...you need to convert it...when you transfer your videos to your phone using Nokia suite then it will ask you to convert or not....you may need to accept it to be able to have error free video playback

TS1424 Play back problem.

I have downloaded from itunes but when I play the item back it stops half way through. Can you help?

I say that Encore does not store slideshows on disc in the same way that "traditional" or "less expensive" programs save them. Those other programs save the slideshows as
video. Encore stores them as a series of I-frames, which allows not only a frame advance, frame rewind operation, but also saves a ton of disc space.
If you examine the slideshows on a lot of commercial DVDs, you won't find dissolve transitions, Ken Burns motion or any other fancy stuff beyond captions for the slides. They will be manual advance presentations, usually of cast members or production shots. That is what Encore's slideshow was primarily developed to do.
Adding the motion and transitions allows the DVD author to add some interest to an otherwise dry presentation.
If the slideshow will be the focus of the disc, or even a significant part of the main program, then I agree with you - other software solutions do it better. But the tradeoff cost is navigational freedom and disc space. You, the author, must decide what is most important for you.
FWIW, I have produced two slideshows in Encore 2 that were designed to be part of the main program, both with random motion and a single transition between slides. And all have played well on my Sony, Toshiba and Pioneer players. They haven't done so well on the cheap players integrated into my kids' TVs or on my PS2. YMMV.
And as for Adobe's marketing, I consider individual slide motion and slide transitions to be advanced features. Maybe not as advanced as ProShow Gold or Imaginate can do, but certainly more advanced than earlier versions of Encore.

i was juz wondering, when i play a song and i put it on repeat it kinda lag during the transition of the repeat. in another word when it about to end and start the song all over again, at that moment it will lag mi computer, making the computer performace shooting up all the way to 100% for that short moment

Reflectmedia Ultimatte DV – Digital Play Back Problem

I'm currently trying to export some Final Cut video sessions via Firewire into Ultimatte DV blue screening (http://www.ultimatte.com/products/product_ultdv.jsp). It use to work, however, FCP has now decided not to send to the unit. I've also tried testing the A/V Devices to out put into the camera, and that doesn't seem to work neither.
I'm running this on a MacBook Pro (Intel) with 1Gig's and the latest version of FCP. Please help if you know of some solutions.

I figured it out!
I guess it's Print to Video in the file menu, only problem now is, Ultimatte DV doesn't have two firewire ports where you can stream background in and capture out. The Ultimatte people are telling me that S-Video is a better option for outputing backgrounds anyways, because it's a better quality and it's uncompressed. Does anyone have any suggestions on how you can still use firewire out and capture in?
I might have my company purchase a PC based laptop solution, since Apple has not only discontinued PCMCIA support, but also S-Video on their MacBook Pro's.

Some websites might appear blank or might not display correctly in Internet Explorer. For example, portions of a webpage might be missing, or colors and text might be incorrect. Some pages might not display at all. If a portion of a page is blank or doesn't
display correctly.
Please try to turn off hardware acceleration.
To turn off hardware acceleration:
Open Internet Explorer for the desktop, tap or click the Tools button, and then tap or click Internet Options. Tap or click the advanced tab, select Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering, and then tap or click OK. You must close and reopen Internet
Explorer for changes to take effect.

ITunes 7.0.1. did not fix play back problem through AirTunes

The sound quality in Airtunes is every bit as bad under the update (7.01) as it had been before (7.0). I cannot listen to my music, the static is so annoying. I hope they get it right soon.

Did you check you have IPV6 on in the network interface settings ?
You have to have it on or else AirTunes won't work.
I think it has to do with the iTunes Airtunes internal streaming server which uses IPV6 now, which is a good thing , network wise. But Apple didn't document it correctly , IMO.
I sure can vouch for the same airtunes quality using 7.01.
I have a pretty expensive audiophile setting connected to my airport express optical out , and the quality has suffered nothing.
This sure is strange.

HT2375 Using logic 9: play back of all project files now has problems: Track volumes are way off - if panning is set to center then you cant hear that track? Even if pan is adjusted tracks are low and or distorted I have looked at core/built in audio

Been having project play back problems for about a month. Sometimes when I open a project the volume of certain tracks is low and or distorted. Oddly if a midi track is panned to the center (0) its volume is too low and if I pan right or left the track becomes louder. Sometimes this doesn't help and if it is an audio track things become distorted.
Although things have been working good for about a year now I think it has something to do with the fact that I have to take the laptop to work and use headphones/built in audio for play back and then take it home and use different audio interface but I can't be sure. The settings in preferences/audio/devises seem to be correct.
I have not added any plug-ins recently. I have not downloaded any new programs recently other than a NI tutorial video (shouldn't have any affect) but I am trying to use a new midi controller but again that shouldn't have any affect on play back of existing track?
Any suggestions?

Thank you for the replies. Everyone was correct about the jack, interface, and phasing problems. I have been unplugging my motu audio interface and then using headphones at work. I have not changed any detailed audio output settings in logic. When I read that the jack might be a problem I tried switching headphones. This actually helped. I am using dre-beats headphones and they seem to be having issues with the mac/jack-(the phasing/panning problems. I can use these headphones with other devices but not the mac. I have to use ipod ear buds and the phasing seems fixed. Hopefully this information is helpful to someone else.
If anyone knows how to correct this issue please let me know its difficult to know what my final mixes are going to sound like and I have had to keep bouncing everything into i-tunes- sync to ipod and then listen in my car radio.

so i been working on this same project for weeks now
and one day i get up and it will not play in project manager
i am able to scrub through the film and see it,, but when i press
play nothing moves
is there something that could be stopping playback

ok guys i just ran a load of test projects
the project settings are
800x600 desktop / 30 fps / PAR = square pixols 1.0
the footage is
800x600 / 30fps / techsmith avi [made with camtasia ]

first          all the footage i have just tryed HAS worked before
second     i have just tryed making new projects with prem pro nothing will play all files load and i can scrub along the time line and the picture moves just nothing when i press play
third       i have also tryed to run the footage using prem pro pal dv preset that used to work with the footage but now nothing
it makes me think there is something wrong with the play icon in prem or the way my pc listens to the play icon but all the footage works fine in after efects and all the footage plays in VLC player
is there another component in my pc hardwear or softwear that could cause this play back problem i wonders
mmm also i did move and increase my virtual memory page file may be that caused it but i sure it worked between now and when i moved the page file

Canvas window - video plays back at different speeds from the timeline. Why

I've scanned 25 pages of topics but found nothing that mentioned this as a problem. When I play a sequence in the timeline, the video in the Canvas window slows down (and sometimes suddenly speeds up to catch up with the audio) About the audio, it sounds find regardless of how the video is playing back. if I hit the space bar to stop play back, the video snaps to the correct position.
Any ideas why?
Sometthings I've noticed : If I restart my computer, the video tends to play back fine. But if I leave the program open and use it alot, the play back problem happens over time. If I make the canvas window tiny (25% size), the video plays fine but at 50% - I get video speed changes. (audio, always good)
Here is what Im using : The project is about 20 mins long. I have over 50 gigs of HD space (the Macs main drive) Im using FCP version 4.5 on a Dual G5. 2.5 GB of Ram.

And, to confirm, your media is running off your system drive? That is, your machine has only one hard drive on it, correct? (Partitioned or not)

I have copied my iTunes library onto a new computer, but when I play back the songs there seems to be random "miss" or "drop out". No probs with old computer, just the new one. I'm onto my third new computer - same problem. Any suggestions please?

You don't say which version of iTunes you are using, but the symptoms you describe have been encountered by some users with the 64-bit version of iTunes 12.1.
There is an alternative version for 64-bit editions of Windows here:

that seems to address the most of the playback issues that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version of 12.1.0.77 - including problems with Bluetooth speakers where either sound is degraded or completely absent. The alternative installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer. The "for older video cards" label appears to be something of a misnomer as some people have reported that this corrects problems found on current / high-spec systems.
Some users have reported that after installing this alternative version it is necessary to adjust the "Play audio using" selection (normally to "Direct Sound" rather than "Windows Audio Session", though this may vary based on your audio hardware/drivers) in Edit > Preferences > Playback to restore glitch-free audio (one part of the reported symptoms is that the "Direct Sound" choice isn't available, usually in Windows 8). It may also be necessary to ensure that your Bluetooth speakers are active and selected as the default audio device before you run iTunes.
If this doesn't address the issue, you may want to think about reverting to iTunes 12.0 - see Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers.

Audition 1.5 has problem playing back MT session if I have a ton of stretched clips

I might be doing something AA is not designed to do, I don't know. Perhaps (I wish) there are a lot easier ways of doing this, but I have a band that recorded, with a song that has 8 vocal tracks, singing as a group. However, they don't all start every word/phrase exactly at the same time, but should - therefore I use the clip stretching abilities in MT to cut the track up each place it's off and stretch it to fit. Normally I don't need to stretch it much at all, but after that tedious job is done the overall project sounds a lot better.
However, now I have this session that has maybe 150 stretched clips (pretty crazy, huh?) and it takes about 30 minutes or more to open. Problem is, now it won't play back decently for some reason; certain tracks sound like a bunch of garble and warble - nothing that can be made out. I do not know if all the stretched clips have anything to do with it. The wave files appear the same as before - example, you can see where a louder portion of audio is but it is nothing synced with what I hear on the speakers.
I should also mention that I had an under-rated computer run AA one time and the same thing happened there so I thought it just got tired and so I restarted AA and it worked fine after that. Here I also restarted AA but the problem is not better - worse if anything.
Some tracks play fine, others don't. Another thing of interest is that I have only stretched the vocal tracks; by far the worse garble is on the instrument tracks; they even play back as quirks and garble in Edit View if I go there.
Anyone have any solution why this happens? Am I over doing AA in some way?
Also, is there a more automated way of matching and syncing vocals? I'm talking about them being .1 - .01 seconds off the beat; is there some way AA will automatically stretch clips to match beats with - say - the beat markers?

I would do that, soon as I'm done with stretching/timing adjustment; thing was I was still 10 seconds from the end when it started acting up. But Just as a safe precaution in case it would do something like that I had already backed up a couple of times so thankfully I don't need to do it all over again!
So, you don't think that "set beat markers" (or something like that) can be locked to beats in MT? For example if I run the "Find and Mark" beats in EV and then use those beats to snap to the closest beat in MT, stretching the file as need be in order to get it there.. ? Maybe I'm dreaming out of this world.. Next time I'll have to force my clients to sing until they sing it dead on right!
