Dv2000 bluetooth module problems..

Hey all..  This is going to be a long post - Sorry in advance, but best to get as much info in as possible..
Hey all - I'm at wits end and need some advice/support
I have a laptop - an HP DV2000 (2413cl specifically) that I rebuilt from scraps. I got Fedra 15 (F15)set up on it, then a couple days later my internal bluetooth module arrived so I added it (it is the interal bluetooth module). When I fired up the laptop, the bluetooth icon appeared (wasn't there before, inficating the system saw and knew there was bluetooth now) in the upper left next to the wifi/network status and I thought all was well. It wasn't - The radio said it was on, but the actual system config ui (bluetoth settings) said there were no bluetooth adapters present (paraphrasing). So I hit the forums, and read many people claiming they had the same problem, and the solution was to install windows so you can install the HP software which includes a firmware update. This was good, though I wasn't thrilled about using my only backup drive as a temp windows hdd, because I also had an old BIOS on this laptop, and wanted to update it as well.
After hours of waiting, windows was up and running. (the hours include downloading and installing most of the hp drivers and the nvidia drivers). The hp listed bluetooth driver had couldn't find a device, but allowed it to install anyway - I thought, okay, perhaps after the driver install it'll be able to detect it. Then the BIOS update, reboot and still no mention of bluetooth in windows. I then proceeded to install windows' 480MB of updates, thinking something in there probably was needed to fix a bug or something.. You know.. 2/3 of the way through, windows update crapped out on me locked up. Rebooting lest me in a system-locking state (blue screen) and last known configuration just hangs.. Ticked off, I slapped the fedora drive back in. Now, the only thing that has changed as far Fedora is concerned is the BIOS version, and somehow now I don't even have the bluetooth icon that appeared after the bluetooth module was plugged in (powered off of course, rofl). This obviously is a setback. I mean, F15 may have told me there were no bluetooth adapters/devices present, but it KNEW there was one, because the icon appeared. And the icon was NOT there before the module was installed.
What can I do about this? Is there a way to manually probe hardware or make it try and redetect? Any insight on why a bios update would make Fedora not see the module now? What can I do, rofl
EDIT:  This is a repost from the Fedora forums, where I am seeking help as well.  Before the floods start coming, I know Linux/non Windows systems are not supported, and that isn't an issue as I have the same problem in Vista as well.  So no, Fedora is not the problem, im fact, as I noted - before the bios update (to F.37 or 39 whichever it was that is available) at least Fedora knew there was bluetooth - Vista never saw it, not before nor after the bios update!   I'll assume all suggestions / ideas will be for Windows also..  If I can recover my vista, I'll post the exact download file names, but HP's support pointed right to all the files via exact model number, which is dv2413cl.  Vista 64 bit.  Thanks in advance for any suport, suggestions and help

    Hi,
You canr use text modules in script. You have to use standard texts .
Standard text are maintained in SO10 transaction.
you can create translation text for other languages also . So based on logon language it will print translation text.
    go to SO10
give textname it say Ztextname  id as ST and language as EN
say create, then you will get editor there maintain your text and save it . then come back . Now change language (say for german DE) say create and eneter translation text and save it.
so now you have created a text called ztextname which you can use in your script.
Inorder to insert the texts in your script do as below
go to any window editor and   select path
    Insert->texts->symbols->standard symbols
then you will get popup  in which you have to mention all the parameters that you have created earlier.
after inserting just change language EN to sy-langu
    Reward points if useful
About text elements Sravan already given some informatiomn

  • Connecting audio speakers via external Bluetooth module

I have an USB bluetooth module (manufactured by Broadcom) to connect to a bluetooth-enabled stereo, but it won't work. I think it must be a software problem. Can anyone help with this?
The device is set up properly, and paired with the stereo.
But in System Preferences > Bluetooth > Devices, it says "Connected: No".
I've updated the Bluetooth software (from Apple).
I've rebooted with the device plugged into the USB port.
I've confirmed (in System Profiler) that the port is recognized.
And I've managed to play music on the same stereo using a different laptop with a built-in bluetooth device.
Can anyone help me resolve this? I'd be really grateful.

yea i have the same problem...no idea how to get the device to say connected: yes

  • Lost Bluetooth module

    Hi,
I've got a new iMac Aluminum 20"... After I unbox it and install all the updates (10.5.7 and some firmware update) I realized that my bluetooth icon in the status bar was missing...
I opened system preferences pane and there was no bluetooth there either...
When I tried to use the bluetooth file exchange app this came up on the screen:
Then I opened the system profiter to look for the bluetooth module information it said I don't have a bluetooth module...
Is this a hardware problem and I should take the computer back to the store or it's a software problem??
    Please someone help me
    Thanks....

    Thanks from me, too...
Mine disappeared when I'd shut down the laptop for about 15-20 minutes. Restarted with the install disk, ran disk utility, and on the second restart it was back.
One question: I couldn't get my MacBook Pro, OS 10.5.8 (just got it in July) to give me startup options when I held down either the D or C during a restart. (I've used it with bootcamp partition, and it works there). However, when I went to startup prefs, the install disk was there as an option.
OK, one more question: I didn't see anything that said "diagnostics," only the utilities menu that has the disk utility. Don't recall ever seeing "diagnostics," actually, in any Mac version, especially not hardware diagnostics. Am I missing something, or is the reference generic? (Note, though, that running disk repair from the install disk apparently solved problem).

  • Bluetooth module no longer recognised in Mac Pro

My Mac Pro's been doing some strange things recently.
A couple of days ago I noticed things were running very slowly, just moving windows about they would jerk and jitter.
Tried hardware test, disk utility etc but no problems found. I then unplugged the machine and plugged it back in - problem solved.
Now today I started up the machine, go to login to my account and my keyboard and mouse don't work. They become initialised if I unplug and plug them back in, or if I wait about a minute they start working.
Along with this, my bluetooth module is no longer recognised under Mac OS X, although when I reboot my machine into Vista the module is recognised and functions correctly.
It also takes over minute to shut the machine down, which it has never done before. When turning it off the OS seems to quit quickly, but the screen remains black for a long time before the power is cut the the drive etc. (This is especially noticeable when restarting the machine as it takes more than twice what it has done in the past).
Is this all just coincidence that these things happened at the same time, or are they related?

Have you tried the standard debugging steps listed in the troubleshooting guides here and elsewhere?
You might try looking at http://www.thexlab.com and other websites like that for information about how to debug various problems.
If you are OK with opening your case, you can also reset the SMC controller on your motherboard, which can affect at least some of the subsystems you are having trouble with.
But first, you need to do more general diagnostics.
Run your MacOS hardware diagnostics by putting your OS boot CD in your optical drive, and hold the D key down when you boot.
You can also hold down C when booting and when the installer appears, go to the menu and run Disk Utility, and verify at least your primary drive.

  • Bluetooth module not present after installing 10.5.7 update from 10.5.6

After installing the 10.5.7 update on my unibody macbook, I can not see the bluetooth option in the mouse preferences. and when i go into the mouse preferences i get the following error message. "The Bluetooth tab of keyboard & mouse preferences is hidden because you don't have a Bluetooth module installed or attached to you computer".
This occured after i installed 10.5.7 update. It was working fine before this.
I have tried restarting my system without success.
Is there a way to roll back to 10.5.6?

    Update:
Applied Bluetooth firmware update this weekend and so far my mighty mouse disconnects a little more often than it did before the update. I was beginning to think it was solving itself as the disconnects seemed fewer and less often until the firmware update. May be coincidental, but it looks like the firmware update, at the very least, was not meant to address this particular problem. I guess I'm going to have to buy a wired mouse.
Let's see now, starting with 10.5.5 my MBP has been plagued with frequent wifi disconnects and starting with 10.5.7 the bluetooth drops out frequently. This is very aggravating.

  • 10.5.2 upgrade lost Bluetooth module

Leopard no longer finds the Bluetooth module on my Intel (Core Duo) Mini after installing the 10.5.2 upgrade. Attempting to install a new BT device brings up an error box saying that no Bluetooth hardware can be found. Looking at System Profiler -> Hardware -> Bluetooth gives "no information". Rebooting into 10.4.11 restores all BT functionality. The Leopard/BT loss is 100% reproducible.
I've seen several threads about BT keyboards freezing intermittently after the 10.5.2 upgrade, but didn't see any saying that the BT module is no longer recognized. I have left a report with Apple. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, did you find a fix? Thank you.

And to add more information to my prior post, Airport is also nonfunctional after the 10.5.2 upgrade. Unlike the bluetooth problem, System Profiler sees the Airport card, but trying to configure the Airport under Network fails. The button to turn the Airport on is greyed out, and I haven't found another way to turn it on. I've tried resetting PRAM and SMC, rebooting, creating another user account. I've also re-installed 10.5.0 (archive/install), and that brings back both Bluetooth and Airport operation. When I then apply the 10.5.2 combo updater, the OS can no longer find the BT hardware module, and the Airport card can't be turned on. Rebooting under Tiger fixes it all, so I think I'm safe in saying it's the 10.5.2 update that's breaking things.

  • Is there any way to restart the bluetooth module without restarting Mountain Lion?

Im using a Logitech V470 bluetooth mouse. The sensitivity and responsiveness was excellent at first. However, after about 2 to 4 days of using the mouse, it becames jumpy and lags. I found out that it can be solved by restarting the machine. Is there any way of restarting only the bluetooth module but not the whole system? I've tried turning it off and on the preferences, but it didn't solve the jumpy problem. I've also read about resetting the PRAM/NVRAM and it clears up some problems, but according to the instructions given, it will reset the boot setting. So, I don't want to loose my bootcamp partition.
    Thanks.

    Hello:
To my knowledge, no to your question.
However, I would suggest you reset both the PRAM and SMC at least once.

  • My Bluetooth module is gone...what's wrong??

When I try to use my Bluetooth it says 'Not Available' and then when I look in Finder it says I need to add a Bluetooth module...I've always been able to use Bluetooth right out of the box, what's wrong? Please help!!!

When I go to system preferences there isn't even a bluetooth option...that guy seemed to be having similar problems, but he said something about he installed an update or something, which I have no clue if I did, I just install whatever pops up from Apple...I have no idea what's going on with it...anything else I could try?

  • Nokia 6300 & Alpine Bluetooth Module

    Hi all,
I have the Nokia 6300 and just got a new alpine headunit with the bluetooth module for my car.
i've noticed that when the devices pair rather than getting an icon of a car i get a headphone icon on the phone - the music player automatically then starts playing the mp3's on the phone regardless of the source i have chosen on the headunit.
does anyone know how to switch this off as i don't want the phone playing music to itself while sat in my pocket - seems like a waste of battery..
    any help is appreciated.
    thanks
    Craig

I have a 6500 slide and a Motorola Bluetooth in the car. Same problem, when I pair them up, the music player automatically goes on. It's frustrating to turn it off everytime I get in the car.
Is this a software problem or is there a way to make the default "off" rather than "on"?

  • Add internal bluetooth module for Probook 5310m, cannot receive files

Hi, I tried to add internal bluetooth module for my probook 5310m, which should be very similar to 4311s and 5320m.
I did installed the module and cable by following the maintenance guide, but there is something wrong about the driver so I cannot receive files through bluetooth from either my smartphone or my another laptop. My phone showed " The transfer is forbidden by the target device( which means 5310m)".
The bluetooth module I got is Broadcom 2070 bluetooth 3.0. My operation system is windows 7 ultimate 32. I tried driver package sp52773 and some earlier version but none of them works. I even let windows update drivers by itself, it still did not work. The only good part is my bluetooth headphone works perfectly and I can sent stuff out from my 5310m. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I really want to fix this since I use bluetooth a lot. I will really appreciate your help.
    Thank you again.
    Jing

I found a way to fix this problem. I install the bluesoleil software and everything works fine finally. Thank god.

  • Possible to add Bluetooth module later?

Can the Bluetooth module, and for that matter the Airport Extreme module, be added later to a Mac Pro? (Thinking of ordering Mac Pro from a mail-order house to avoid Apple's sales tax, but would need to go with a base config.)
    Thanks.
    blakespot

Its very easy to do, I just tried it.
What you need is a bluetooth module, I used the one
from the riser on my G4 Mac Mini. Apple part number
    M9870ZM/A
If you look between disc bay 1 and 2 you will find 4
cables numbered 1, 2, 3 & BT. These are the antenna
cables for wlan and BT (Why 3 for airport????). On my
system they were taped to the gap between the bays
with black tape. you need the BT cable.
Plug the BT cable onto the antenna socket on the BT
board, and place the board onto the socket just below
bay 2/3. There is the socket for the Airport card and
below that the BT socket. Fix the BT card into place
with 2 micro screws (came with the BT card).
Reboot and configure the devices from the BT menu.
    That's it.
The Airport card from the G4 Mac Mini is an Airport
Extreme but the connectors are a different size from
that on the Mac Pro mother board.
This worked on my system. YMMV. I doubt Apple would
support this, although I am 100% sure the components
    are the same.
(Another simpler way is a BT dongle on a USB port)
The only problem with the dongle is you lose your connections upon sleep and need to "tap" your power button to wake your Mac Pro and re-establish your connection.

  • Bluetooth module replaceable?

I've been having problem,s with bluetooth on my 2009 Mac Pro. I am able to pair and connect devices, but the connections drop. Since the same devices work properly on another Mac I am led to believe that the proble is with the bluetooth module. Is bluetooth replaceable on a 2009 Mac Pro or is it built in to the mother board? If replaceable where might I find the necessary part? Thanks for any help.
