Dv2000 No Power, No signs

I have a HP Dv 2000 series Special edition ( KC448UA / dv2740se)
This laptop does not power on what so ever. I have already tried to clear the CMOS but still nothing.
It also does not give out any signs, no lights flashing, or any kind of noise what so ever.
If I plug in the charger the blue led lights up fine and shows that power is going through but when I press the power button still nothing happens (almost as if the power button didn't respond/work) . The only light that comes on is the Lightning bolt that shwos it's charging the battery.
Nothin flashes of LEDs that could help me, no fans, no disk moving, no LCD lighting up nothing.
Is this a motherboard problem or a power button problem? is there a way i can use a paper clip to power on the laptop??

Ok check this out, i got it to turn on, when i connect the battery it charges it normally and it turns on with the abattery and ac plug connected.
It then shuts off automatically, and randomly sometiems 1 second after, other times with before windows is about to start. If i remove the battery and try turning it on with just the PLUg it wont work. it HAS to be the battery and charger
The caps lock, HDD LED and touchpad LED turn on for a split second nothing comes on

  • Power adaptor sign constantly on ipod

    When I tried to update ipod a few days ago the power adaptor sign came on to complete the update. I plugged it into the power adaptor and NOTHING HAPPENED. Now I cant use the ipod, it wont be recognised by my laptop and everytime i turn it on the power adaptor sign comes up - what can i do???

    I have the same issues. itunes 5.0.1.4 doesn't recognize my mini. ipod updater doesn't recognize my mini either. i have uninstalled itunes 5 and reinstalled 4.9, but it didn't work still. updater just shows that i have no ipod connected. if i try to get updater to check for my ipod during the updater installatin, it just sits there and says "waiting for ipod". it's not my usb port because i can read and write to my ipod. i did the entire list of chores that apple suggests on the site including disabling all other functions and services, reinstalling the com port, uninstalling everything, reinstalling everything, getting windows install clean up, e v e r y t h i n g! nothing worked.
    I then installed itunes 4.9 and updater 1.4 in my other laptop. i was able to update to firmware 1.4 using that computer. when i put the ipod into that computer w/ itunes 4.9, everything works fine. of course, it asks me if i want to link that laptop w/ my ipod. i said no, because i want to use my original laptop w/ the ipod.
    anybody have a solution for this? it's like we all have the same symptoms and going to the same doctor and we end up having to diagnose ourselves. this is extremely annyoying and inefficient.

  • T61 power on issues - only getting the z light

    Hi, I put my laptop to hibernate mode the other night and the next morning, it won't come back on. I get the green battery sign light, the power-plug sign light and the sign light next next to it, which reads like a slanted "z". But the screen stays blank (I don't see bios screen at all).
    It makes a couple of click noise when i turn it on, but then the above mentioned three lights stays on and nothing happens.
    Is there a way to rest this or something else? Or does it sound like a hardware malfunction?

    It does sound like a hardware malfunction. Try this old trick:
    Remove the battery, hard and media drives, unplug the AC adapter.
    Press the "power" button ten times in a row holding it down for ten seconds each time and thirty seconds the last time around.
    Plug the AC adapter - but nothing else - back in and try to power the laptop on.
    Good luck.
    Cheers,
    George

  • My I pod 4 turns on,shuts off to power off

    My I pod completely goes to the lock screen every time I turn it on or it goes to the "slide to power off sign"

    Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
    Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod

  • ITune Store can't show purchased item after iOS 7.1.1 Update

    After my iPad Air got restored to factory iOS 7.1 from the Apple Store, I restored my content which is 25GB of books pdf apps and videos.  Then got the news that iOS 7.1.1 is out and fixed some issues, I thought maybe fixed the Videos App problem, so I updated my iOS to 7.1.1 over wifi no with problem.  Then I tried to check the purchased item in iTune Store but came out blank.  From the heading "Purchased" and below up to the lower visible icon, it is blank.  Tried reboot, power off, sign out in, close all app, etc.   The only thing left is the famous factory restore, which i'm not ready to do.  The Apps Store is fine, i can see my purchased apps.

    I went to Apple Store and hooked up to their WiFi, now I see my purchased item in the iTune Store.

  • Why does my macbook pro 15 inch mid 2012 only charge to 97%?

    Whenever my macbook pro is plugged in on max battery (The power cable sign on the battery icon), it displays as only 97%. Anyone have an idea why?

    You should see it read 100%, but when it reaches that level, the power adapter does provide electricity to operate the MBP but no longer charges the battery.
    Thus the battery then starts to slowly discharge till it drops to the 95%/94% level (until that point, it will say 'Charged' on the battery menu bar icon drop down menu) and then it will be charged again by the power adapter until it reaches 100% again.
    So long as you keep the power adapter connected, this cycle will be repeated.  This is normal operation.
    Ciao.

  • PowerBook G4 won't start up please help...

    Hello everybody ho are you doing? Sorry for the long post I'm just in panic mode now because I can't live without my computer
    Ok here's my problem, my powerbook g4 will not start up now. How did this happen? I was using safari and the the apple logo came up told me an update was available do I downloaded the update I believe it was for iPhoto, then I went to the apple button, restart. It took me to the point where you hear the tone and then gives the apple logo without the spining sign after about 3 seconds anoter screen come up reads "you need to restart your computer. Hold the power button for several seconds or press the restart button". This message is also in french and two other languages. There's also a logo in the background like a power button sign.

    Because replacing the DC-In board is such a pain, be sure to test with another battery before tackling the board replacement.
    Yes, the high- and low-res 1.67s use different PRAM batteries:
    Low-res PRAM battery
    High-res PRAM battery
    Powerbook PRAM batteries are rechargeable. Yours is drained now because it isn't being recharged, but that doesn't mean it won't take a charge again when you get your charging system working properly. If I were you, I'd return the one you bought immediately if you can get a full refund or credit for doing so. If a full credit or refund isn't available, then return it only if it's the wrong one and useless to you. If you bought the right one, keep it, but try to diagnose the actual cause of your problem ASAP so that if you don't need a new PRAM battery, you'll still have a chance to return the one you bought before it's too late, at least for a partial credit.

  • ## no data returned

    Hi,
    I tried the following codes but can't get any data back. I used
    reversemapping to create my class, how to debug this? ( I am sure there is
    data in oracle db)
    thanks
    PersistenceManagerFactory pmf =
    KodoHelper.getPersistenceManagerFactory
    ("kodo.properties");
    PersistenceManager pm = pmf.getPersistenceManager ();
    pm.currentTransaction ().setNontransactionalRead (true);
    Extent mags=pm.getExtent(CmApplView.class, false);
    String filter ="true";
    Query query = pm.newQuery (mags, filter);
    Collection results = (Collection) query.execute ();
    try
    Iterator itr = results.iterator ();
    if (!itr.hasNext ())
    System.out.println ("No contract matches your query");
    else {
    while (itr.hasNext ()){
    CmApplView cm = (CmApplView) itr.next ();
    System.out.println(cm.getApplViewName());
    //System.out.println ("contract
    name="+cm.getContractName());
    //System.out.println
    ("item#="+cm.getCmContractItems().size());
    finally
    query.close (results);

    It appears that you have increased JDBC logging but not SQL logging
    which is on a different channel.

  • Approval Process for document?

    hello sap experts,
    I had one scenario in which clients Document from lower office is sent to higher office for approval.
    at each stage of approval it is signed by officer on the basis of allocation of power to sign the document.
    How to map this scenario in DMS
    Thx in advance…pts will be awarded for helpful answer.

    Hi
    You can use status network for this...
    also use workflow for notification... In your workflow pick values from Auth group by which you can restrict powers to specific people....
    Work flow will also consider your document type.
    e.g
    Status:
    Created > In work > to be Approved > released
                                      |
                       or           > Rejected
    this is simple but need a workflow as the mail will be sent to concerned person to approve.

    I've been watching the rollout of Infinity to see when we could upgrade since its launch. Eventually my Exchange EA FOXHALL was upgraded last year but the checker always returns a date 3 months in the future for my telephone line. When the month arrives, the available month CHANGES!!! Grrr.
    Now today I have checked and the date is set to March 2014. All of the surrounding area has been upgraded (including both my elderly parents and in-laws who have no use for it!) but my road ...... nothing. The cabinet at the end of the road has been installed and has power warning signs.
    It is unfair for BT to keep people hanging on for a date and keep moving it. I'd move to Virgin, but I'm so tied to my BT Internet email address which I've had since the very early dial-up days and I use for everything including my day job (self employed) I can't face the hassle.
    How can I find some definitive information on why we are a small pocket of non-Infinity?

    Hi STX1300man,
    Have you tried entering your POSTCODE into the http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/ website?
    If there is a Yellow pin near your address when entering your postcode in the http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/ website then it may tell you that there is a delay .
    BT Infinity is just BT Retails brandname for Fibre broadband (FTTC and FTTP).
    The deployment and management of the fibre broadband for the majority of the UK is done by Openreach.
    BT Retail who provides BT Infinity has nothing to do with the deployment and management of Openreach's fibre network.
    Unfortunately BT Retail (a communication provider/ISP who operates this forum) does not have much say as to when and if you will be able to get FTTC or FTTP/H based broadband such as BT Infinity
    You can register your interest for Fibre Broadband such as BT Infinity by going to http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/expression-gen.aspx
    Some problems that can cause delays are:
    1) Local council planning permission rejected or delayed.
    2) The cabinet is not suitable for FTTC broadband
    3) There isn't a adequate power supply
    4) Health and safety issues
    5) No ducting or inadequate ducting
    plus lots more.
    The build of the fibre broadband infrastructure in the area isn't always easy and can be very complex.
    You can keep checking the BT Wholesale Database and BT Infinity website for the most upto date information as these are updated regularly.
    Openreach's Fibre broadband website is http://superfast-openreach.co.uk/
    **The Fibre-Optic Broadband Rollout is being managed and done by Openreach for all communication providers/ISPs.
    BT Retail (a communication provider/ISP) has nothing to do with the rollout of fibre broadband.**
    Hope that helps,
    Cheers

  • Turning off iMessage without iPhone 4s present

    Anyone have a helpful hint on how to turn off iMessage without my old iPhone 4s present? I have read numerous boards and sites that you have to unregister your account on your profile...or you have to wait 30 days for it to unregister..or you have to get all of your iphone contacts to switch something for when they send me  message...or go change your apple id password..I just want an answer. I have gone into my Apple ID account and unregistered the phone/phone number. I have changed my password for Apple ID. I have tried to go into the iCloud account through my Apple ID and it will let me in but you cant do anything other than see what I had on there the last time I backed up my iphone. I can get text from a couple of my iphone contacts individually but it does not work when I do multiple contacts. I never get their replies.
    Does it really take 30 days for it to reset?
    Any experiences or advice please let me know.
    I now have a Samsung Galaxy 4.
    Thank you

    Settings>Messages
    -sign into imessage on any iphone
    -activate it
    -uncheck his email and phone number
    -sign out
    -power cycle
    -sign into original iphone user

  • External intermediate certification authority certificate & key

    Hi all.  I was curious if an external vendors like Entrust or Thawte would sell an Intermediate CA certificate and key for HTTPS filtering, or if this is something reserved only for business partners (like other CA's who are going to charge for certs).     I know how to do this internally using our enterprise microsoft CA, that works well with Windows boxes, but that CA is not on GPO'd on non-windows boxes like apple devices nor Android smartphones, so we thought using a more widely recognized root-authority intermediate cert would be better for our users.   Im no expert on certificates so feel free to correct if im misunderstanding, thanks.

    Hello,
    In most cases, a 3rd party trusted CA (such as Verisgn or Thawte) will not sell an intermediate certificate, as that essentially gives you the power to sign other certificates and make them seem legitimate as they would be trusted by the user's browser. This is a major security vulnerability for users and could deminish the reputation of the CA.
    For devices/applications that do not have the WSA certificate in their trusted cert store, you can either pass through the connections in the Decryption policies, or you can have them click through the certificate warning (if possible) for connections that are decrypted.

  • Blue screen fix?

    Have MacBook Pro, about 3 years old, running 10.6.8. Worked well until about 1 to 2 security software updates ago. Have checked with others with MacBook Pro's about this age or older - same problem. Now, with some regularity several times a week, suddenly goes to blue screen. Shut off by pressing power button, sign back on and okay for a while until blue screen again. Other then that, works fine. Anybody have a solution?

    i mean the white screen has turned blue. I can still se everything on it.

  • IMessage issues...on O2-UK

    Hi there - major iMessage problem..with iPhone 3GS on O2-UK
    I'm on the latest iOS 5.1.1 software, I am on a Wi-Fi connection, I have 15 contacts on an iPhone with iOS 5 or later and on Wi-Fi. I have been to my network carrier to check my settings, they've confirmed all my settings are correct for an iPhone. My message "Send" button will turn from green to blue, attempt an iMessage then fail. I have reset the Network settings, done 2 factory resets, toggled home/power button, signed in/out with my Apple ID, toggled iMessage on/off and turned off/re-booted iPhone, turned Wi Fi router on/off, rejoined the Wi Fi...still nothing!!
    I have one friend who was sending me iMessages from her iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1 and the messages were blue and didn't receive any delivery failure notifications...yet I received nothing on my iPhone 3GS! Mystery! She is also on the same network carrier as me and was on Wi Fi. Guys at O2 were perplexed and have suggested a SIM swap so I'm currently waiting for my SIM to expire and try the new one.
    I was told in the O2 shop that setting the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 will only work for Wi Fi so when I go back on 3G iMessage will stop working.
    If anyone can unfathom this mystery, please let me know, I would be interested to hear. I will re-post if a new SIM works.
    Or is it just accepted that iOS 5.1.1 breaks iMessage and we all wait for a software update/fix?! Thanks!

    To anyone who is reading this post...my iMessage is now fixed ( ! )
    I took my iPhone to my pre-booked O2 Guru appointment on Friday and left it with them for 1.5 hours and collected it at 6pm to find they hadn't resolved the issue and were perplexed as to why iMessage wasn't working. They had tried all of the suggestions from the Internet (as have I) and still nothing worked.
    A friend suggested setting up the iPhone as a new iPhone - this DID work and I can now iMessage without issues.
    yes, it meant I lost my pics but I've only had the iPhone for 3 weeks so it wasn't a disaster. I'm also reluctant to do another factory reset and set it up from an old iPhone profile becuase this seemed to have prevented iMessage from working - if anyone can explain why that would be really helpful!
    I would recommend trying this first because I spent a good few hours trying the other fixes from the web first.
