DV5-1134TX - Windows 7 - No Webcam

I have recently formatted my laptop and put Windows 7 on.  I have downloaded every Windows 7 driver from the support driver section of the HP website, including the Cyberlink Youcam Software v2.0.3115 "sp45825.exe"  which is supposed to install the webcam driver.  However, it does not, stating "no webcam device found" or at least something very similar.  The webcam itself does not even show up in the Device Manager as a unknown / imagaing device.  If someone could point me in the right direction to a driver or method of getting this to work that would be great.
I would really appreciate any help as this is getting rediculous.

drhhitman

Hi Mrstenter, first of all I wish to thank you for having taken the time in viewing my thread. You asked me to see if in "WebCam troubleshooting" I find some solutions. No solutions here. You asked me to "uninstall the Cyberlink and the MediaSmart software completely and reinstall the software". I already did so with no results. You can see/read this from my initial thread.Question: I noticed that I cannot have both (CyberLink YouCam + MediaSmart Webcam) software installed at the same time. When I first installed CyberLink YouCam and after I decide to install MediaSmart Webcam software CyberLink YouCam disappeared and was left with one webcam software only. Can you please confirm that both software cannot be installed at the same time? You state that "CyberLink YouCam Software should be installed" but with this installed the WebCam does not work. You can see/read this from my initial thread. You also suggest me to "try uninstalling Skype as well". This does not solve the problem because Skype was the last test I did. This means that Skype was not installed when both HP webcam software were installed. I invite you to kidnly re-read my initial post because I feel I stated all my issues and also the path I took for troubleshooting this issue properly and with full detail. Perhaps you can find some hints from that. I suspect that the hardware is not stable/working. The software I am using is this one: Software Cyberlink YouCam File Name: sp45825.exe
Direct Link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45501-46000/sp45825.exe
Software HP MediaSmart Webcam
File Name: sp50497.exeDirect Link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50001-50500/sp50497.exe Is this ok for Windows 7 32bit Home Premium? What to do?Thank you,Spiro

  • HP EliteBook 2740p Tablet PC Windows 8.1 Webcam not working

I have a problem getting the webcam working on Windows 8.1.
I have installed the latest versions of the webcam software and Youcam software. In youcam I can select the HP Webcam [2 MP Macro] as only driver. Youcam starts alright, but there is no video.
In the device manager all seems alright as well, no issues and the webcam is listed.
Can anyone help me out here? Is this a Windows 8.1 thing or do I need to install another driver?

Hello aki380. I understand you're trying to locate some Windows 8 drivers.
Unfortunately, your notebook does not have any Windows 8 drivers available for download.
Did you try to install the Windows 7 driver in compatibility mode or just regularly?
Also, is the device listed in Device Manager?

  • Satellite P50-a-144 and Windows 8.1 - Webcam lost driver

    Hello
I bought a Satellite P50-A-144 and now after Windows and Toshiba updates the webcam doesn't work.
In the device management webcam disappeared and I have an advice with a message: composite device USB.
I don't find webcam drivers on Toshiba site. Could you help me with a link to the usefull drivers?
    Thank you!

    Hi Adri
In the past Toshiba has offered webcam drives for Vista or Win7 but on Win8 machines there is no Toshiba driver anymore. Notebook uses Microsoft drivers. This is the reason why you cannot find webcam driver on Toshiba download page.
Be careful with updates installation. In my opinion you should deactivate automatic update option and before you start updates download and installation check up which drivers are offered. Install important updates but be careful with stuff listed as optional updates. Drivers listed there should be installed from Toshiba download page.
To be honest I don't know what went wrong with your machine but try, if possible, to roll back OS to earlier time before you have installed these updates to see if webcam works again.
Out of curiosity: have you created recovery media following instructions in users manuals document?

    Hey,
To be honest I dont understand what you mean. Do you talk about webcam or some Toshiba utilities now? Im confused
If you want to update the webcam driver, you can download it on the Toshiba page:

I have a T500 running smoothly except integrated camera and finigerprint reader. I'm ok with fingerprint reader but I want to make my camera work atleast. My webcam , integrated camera only works in Lenovo toolbox but doesn't work on Yawcam, Yahoo or Skype. So far I tried Uninstalling the camera driver and software from programs and device manager. I reinstalled the driver downloaded from http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-70600.html I din't find any utility / program that show my webcam working except the Lenovo toolbox's hardware test. Any tricket other option to try ? - Sunil Parmar

No luck with Fn+F6 .. it doesn't do anything ..
On Yahoo it says web cam is not connected. Although when you start first time the set up screen show that it's going to use Integrated Camera as your webcam but it doesn't work in the next screen with error saying it's not connected.
On Skype it says unexpected error.

If Fn-F6 doesn't work it means you don't have the latest hotkey driver installed (it is a new feature), which leads me to ask if you have the newest webcam driver installed?

  • Trobleshooting Windows 7 & 8 Webcam Issues

    Good Afternoon,
Over the past several weeks I have noticed a few webcam related issues and I wanted to share a couple documents that might help.
This document helps with issues regarding a webcam using the Windows 7 operating system. These steps can work for both notebooks and desktops. Also, it can come in handy when working on an integrated or external webcam.
This document helps with issues regarding a webcam using the Windows 8 operating system. Just like the document above these steps will work for a notebook or desktop, and will work using an integrated or external webcam.

  • DV5-1117el & Windows 7 - System audio issue

Hi,I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit and installed HP Audio drivers "Driver CODEC audio ad alta definizione IDT". Sound function but I am very unhappy with system sound level: I can barely hear it while instead I can hear sound being reproduced by videos. What is wrong? Is there a separate system sound level to adjust?
Here some screenshots hoping they can help.     When Instead I test sound in Advanced Tab I can hear it fine. Here is the test I do from: Please help. Thank you

    Hi  ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!
I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv5-1117el Notebook and issues with the Audio Software. I would uninstall both that you have listed. Restart the Notebook. Here is a link to the Audio driver for Windows 7 and your system. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that might need updating. Please note remove any and all USB and HDMI devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues. I hope something here helps. Thanks.

  • Lag in Keyboard and Touchpad Freezes on HP Pavilion dv5 2070us - Windows 7

    Hello -
Recently my Pavilion dv5 2070us has been acting up over the course of a day or two.
It started with my touch pad freezing up every once in a while one afternoon progressing to a total freeze.  I tried to restart my computer but to no avail.  Pluggin in wireless mouse, however, worked so I'm wondering what could be wrong with the touch pad itself.
At the same time a lag in my keyboard started.  I'd be typing then the curser would just stop, stay blinking, but not write any letters.  After a few seconds it would spell out a few but not all.  The lag has just gotten worse to the point that its' impossible to freely write anything.
My warranty is up - so I'm wondering what I could possibly do to fix the problem.
Thank you kindly in advance for your time.

from everything you've described it sounds as though the CPU has suffered heat damage from the overheating
the only way to actually sort it is to replace the CPU chip unfortunately

Is there any chance of updating the BIOS to support booting from eSATA? Is there something I am missing in the BIOS setup menu?

No the eSata port is not bootable.

  • HP PAVILION DV5 w/ windows 7 shuts down randomly

PC shuts down for no reason, I checked the forum for similar problems & was recommended to cleans the air vents on the bottom of the pc.  I did that but it's still shutting down.

Run the hard drive self-test in the BIOS, too. It is getting to the age when almost anything could be wrong. Heating is still probably the primary candidate, but to really fix that you need to open it up and apply new cooling compound to the CPU, clean the fan blades, etc. Post back if you want to Manual showing how to do that. Not easy.
