Dv6-6047cl no sound

Lately my laptop refuses to play sound in either internet applications or video players.  I can usually resolve this issue by opening up the beats audio control panel, lowering then raising the volume there and the sound will usually work when i open up my application again.  Initially, I only had to do that once but now the situation has worsened and the sound shuts off anytime i close a webpage or video player.  I've reinstalled the hd audio drivers, ran virus and malware scans but the problem keeps popping up. HELP!

Hello Mrhadoken,
I understand you state your computer is having issues with sound is that correct? I will be more than happy to help you with this problem.
Do you know if the issue occurs if you have a set headphones or external speakers connected? If you haven’t, could you try and test that out to see if the issue occurs there as well.
Please respond back at your earliest convenience.
Thanks

  • Dv6-6047cl fan

The fan in my dv6-6047cl is going bad. It makes a lot of noise. I want to replace it, but I am not sure exactly what fan to get. I would like to avoid opening up my computer once to get the part number and again to replace the fan when I get it. Any help? It looks like there are multiple different fans for the dv6 series.

  • No Webcam detected dv6-6047cl

    My  dv6-6047cl   can't detect  web cam.. how can i slove it. All hp software and driver are installed but not apper on windows  7 64 bit device list.;

I'm having the same problem.  Seems like it's a pretty common problem with these models.  You would think HP would fix it with an update or something.  The only answer I keep seeing is to reinstall the driver but but when I try to use the Recovery Manager to do that, I can't tell which driver controls web cam.
After numerous Google searches trying to find the answer, I came across someone in another HP thread that said he called HP technical support and they basically told him he's going to have to basically abandon anything he's done to his pc and reset to factory to get his webcam to work.  That's BS.
I'm just going to dig out my old MS web cam and clip it on.  This makes me so angry because I'm on a fixed income, invested hundreds of dollars I really don't have only to have to come up with rigged-up fixes for a laptop that I've had for only 9 months.  After this experience, I know what brand my next laptop WON'T be.

  • Pavilion dv6 - loud beeping sound when starting +sound problem

i just bought an hp pavilion dv6 notebook LR732PA and every time i turn it on there's a loud beeping sound, and i'm not sure if this is normal but it asks me where to boot from (pc hard drive) and which oS (windows 7 64-bit). does anyone know how to stop the beeping?
Also sometimes the sound stops working altogether and an icon appears on the screen with a circle moving around it, and when i try to put the volume up the bar slides back down. it usually can be fixed by closing some programs and processes, it happens sometimes when ive just got 2 programs running and i close one and its ok, or if its not i have to restart. is this something to do with RAM or some kind of sound setting?
    Thanks =)

There could possibly be a RAM issue here are a couple of troubleshooting links that might resolve your issue or give you an idea what the beeping is referring to.

  • How do I stop the hp dv6 beats audio sound from pulsing and restore dynamic?

I just got a HP DV6-7030TX laptop, with beats audio and I find the sound is constantly changing in volume through the internal speakers
It seems to be, that the beats audio is trying to make quieter parts of the song louder, but when the loud parts come in there is a sudden drop is volume.
I am able to reproduce this time and time again with songs that stop-start and its also seems to get reset when I change one of the presets in the beats config tool (Listening experience tab, chaning between Music, 3D content and Movie), although it almost always reverts back to the limited volume.
I've tried updating the driver to the latest version on the HP website and also disabled the 'Beats Audio' checkbox in the config tool, but neither of these items help.
Other forums have suggested to disable settings on the Sound 'enhancements' tab in the control panel, but I don't seem to have this option on my laptop.
Otherwise I love this laptop, so it would be a shame to have to return the laptop because of this problem.
    Thanks,

Download and install the driver from the linke below. it has a fix

  • Fan not working (HP pavilion dv6-6047cl Entertainment PC)bought nov 2011

hi everybody im sure we all apreciate our PC notebooks i know i do.The one problem i have is i dont trust anyone too work on my machine i payed over 1.000 dollars. I am retired now but i was a tool & die maker for over 26 yrs. i have been looking at the utubes for a while now on how to take a notebook apart.so i am wondering how much a HP replacement fan cost. i did the test dianostic for hard disk and all it says it Passed. therre are a bunch of test i only did the hard disk test should i do them all get back with me please.

I paid $30,000 for my car but I trust the dealer to work on it because I know their mechanics do it every day. I could watch youtube videos and figure out how to do a tuneup but they will do it better. I will change my own air filter however since it is not too hard and will save money. Replacing a cooling fan is more like a tuneup than replacing an air filter. Still, you can do it if you follow the Manual and are careful. Here is the Manual:

This is the part number for your fan and heatsink:

  • Dv6-6145dx no sound from speakers...

Audio from headphone works just great, but the speakers don't produce any sound. I've ran the windows audio troubleshooter to no avail. I've reinstalled the drivers but it was a no go too. Has anyone experienced this problem? The weirdness is this laptop has 4 speakers...1 bar on the front and one just below the lcd neither produce sound. I wouldn't know how to check for blown speakers but it sure is looking that way. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52658.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have any audio through the internal speakers.
