DV6 Flashing 2 times Num Lock and Cap Lock Keys on Startup

Hi all.
My computer (HP Pavillion DV6-2062eo) flashes 2 times on CAPS and NUM LOCK when turned on.
The tables on former post-messages says it's BIOS Corruption.
How to solve this ??
Regards,
Frank

Hi Chris,
See if you can match the pattern of the 'blinks' to those shown on the table below - this may atleast give you a better idea of what the problem is.

I understand that you are experiencing an issue where your computer freezes and the Scroll Lock, Caps Lock and Num Locks keys flash and you are unable to work until they stop. I would be happy to assist you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer. I am linking an HP Support document below that will show you how to find your product number. As well, if you could indicate which operating system you are using. And whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit as with this and the product number I can provide you with accurate information.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Please re-post with the requested information and I would be happy to provide you with assistance. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Blinking Caps Lock and Num Lock Keys Lit after spilling water Macbook Pro.

What does it mean when the caps lock and Num lock key blink, after spilling liquid on a Macbook Pro? Does this mean that liquid is still present? Also, the white light by the latch was blinking. What does this all mean?

    Possible liquid damage.
Immediately disconnect all peripherals, power cord & remove the battery. Turn the computer over with the lid partly open and the hinge facing upward to let the liquid drain. Do not flop it over and lay it flat - you want to separate it from the moisture. Place paper or cloth towels under the machine to sop up the mess.
After the computer disgorges whatever you spilled on it, don't turn it on for 72 hours or longer. You want to computer to dry out completely before turning it on again.
Some users here swear by hairdryers. Blow drying the innards may bake whatever was in the liquid onto delicate computer components. Better to let the computer air dry.
Use plain tepid water to clean out the computer. If you spilled iced beverage more than likely this ice fried the hot motherboard.
Sugary, acidic or milky drinks will almost always cause problems later on as the residue starts slowly corroding the computer innards.
Swab down any sticky parts with distilled water or denatured alcohol.
If none of the above works, you will need to take the computer to a repair shop. Apple Care does not cover liquid or food damage. Believe me, they can tell. So the old "my computer stopped working" line is not going to work.

  • Num Lock off at startup

I have an Envy using Windows 8 with Touchscreen.  I am trying to get my num lock to always stay on.  Can anyone help with this issue.  Tks.

    Hello Big_John62,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see that you are attempting to keep the num lock key locked at all times, and I would be happy to assist you! To begin, I will need to ask you a few questions:
What is the Product and Model Number of your desktop computer?
Has your computer completed all of its important Windows Updates?
Have you been able to successfully keep your num lock key locked consistantly in the past?
Are you able to keep your cap lock or scroll lock keys locked as well?
In the meantime, I recommend following this document on Num Lock not turned on when booting Windows 8. This should help enable your Num Lock key consistantly.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, as well as the requested information above. I look forward to your reply!

Is it a glitch or do you have "sticky keys" turned on in Universal Access?

  • Pressing num-lock keys causes applications to crash

I have a problem with the standard Apple USB keyboard. If I press any key on the num lock pad all my applications crash. It really doesn´t matter if it is e.g. Quark, Mail or any other application.
    Need some help.
    Kind regards,

    hey Tobsel,
as far as i know, there should not be any issues if that process is killed. However, your num lock key may or may not work sporadically.
For which ThinkVantage software has it, it is both the Power Management as well as the Hotkeys

  • How to get the "Num Lock" key's original status in RedHat Linux FC4 ?

I have realized it in Windows XP platform by
    Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getLockingKeyState(KeyEvent.VK_NUM_LOCK),
and it works very well in Windows XP platform,
but it doesn't work in Redhat Linux FC4,
    and throws UnsupportedOperationException.
Anybody can tell me whether there is any other methods
to get the "Num Lock"  key's original status in Redhat Linux FC4
    by jdk1.5.0_02 or later.
Any help will be greatly appreciated here in advance,

  • Num Lock key while under XP

The numeric keypad on my iMac works just fine while I'm operating under Mac. But when I boot up under MS XP, the keypad doesn't work. It's like I need a 'num lock' key and there is none.
    Any ideas?

Try the clear button on a extended keyboard. Above the 7 to the left of = on numeric keypad.

  • Turning On Num Lock Keys

I can't seem to figure out how to turn on the num lock keys on my keyboard. I have an iMac 20" with the standard keyboard and supermouse. I've tried searching the support pages.
    Thanks,
    kayjh

I've worked the problem out (I used Apple Chat assisstance). In Preferences, Universal Access, Mouse Keys - the Mouse Keys must be set to "off" which will then enable the Num Keys.
I'm not sure how you use the mouse keys as well as the num keys, but I guess I'll work that out later.
    Thanks for your help,

  • Satellite C55-A and Ubuntu - Caps Lock and Num Lock key leds always off

I use Ubuntu Desktop 14.04 and Mate Desktop and LightDM. My Toshiba Laptop is Satellite C55-A-1JH (PSCG6E) model.
Cap Lock and Num Lock is working , but their leds always is off.
I don't find any Linux driver in Toshiba support web site. How I solve this problem?

Hi. Are you sure this is a Linux-issue? Please try this: reboot the unit and press F12 several times when the Toshiba logo is shown. When the boot menu is shown try Caps and Num lock again.
    Same issue or not?

  • When backlight is off Caps Lock and Num Lock keys flicker slightly

I recently noticed that on my very new MacBook when I leave the backlight to turn off, the caps lock and num lock lights flicker green. This is a very low level of light coming from it. Is anyone else having this problem and is it very serious?

I doubt it means anything. You might consider leaving it like that for a while and then checking to see if your battery ran down like the computer was awake. Or you could close the lid. At least that way you don't have to see the flicker.
If you said the lights flicker at full intensity, that might mean a loose connection or a bad resistor on a chip, etc.
