DV6000 Touchpad help

Hi,the touchpad on my HP pavillion DV6000 doesn't work.
It has never had any provlems until recently.
The light that indicates whether it's activated is solid blue.
It stopped working when I fitted a replacement keyboard for it while it was on because I forgot to connect the ribbon cable.
I think Im may have pressed a combination of keys whilst doing this that has disabled the function of the touchpad.
Any help would be great.

Mini 210-2080nr touchpad help

Hello,
I recently bought a HP Mini 210-2080NR and I'm having difficulties with the touchpad. The right and left key is connected to the touchpad. When using the touchpad, I'm able to navigate with the entire touchpad including the keys and that is causing a huge inconvenience.
Is there a way to lock the right and left click keys on the touchpad, so I'm able to navigate smoothly? Thanks in advance.

Check if you have Accidental Contact Mitigation (ACM) feature in the Synaptics Properties Windows, that will help you set restrict the tap and pointer movement zone...So outside that zone, you can have more control over tap and pointer movement, To Activate the function, Click on Filter Activation Time, and set the Filter Activation Time to Zero Seconds and check.......Check below screenshot...

Flash games on touchpad help

hi there.
I have touchpad and try to play games of flash, and have difficulty using.
I got bejeweled 1 working, having done a google search and found a popcap site link ending with .FLV, It worked great.
however, when searching for bejeweled 2, on popcap site, came to regular page, where select to play, the page moves everywhere, and I cannot drag jeweled as whole page moves,
on my pre 2, I would play by turning pre 2 horizontal, and the small flash game would maximize, and would not shift, the verticle would return to normal, but that does not appear to happen.
any help would be great.
how can I play flash games on touchpad so
a the game maximises and fills screen.
b the screen does not move when trying to play the game.

Bad Touchpad HELP!

Hello guys, this is my first time posting here and i hope that i cant find a solution.
i recently bought an HP Envy m6-n012dx online. my problem with it is that the touchpad is giving me problems. it sometimes acts erratic. sometimes i cant scroll using two fingers, othertimes the cursor just jumps around, other times it keeps moving to the left by itself, other times i try to left or right click and it doesnt respond, etc.
i tried installing and re installing the drivers, i reformated the computer, i've even tried using drivers used my other HP models that use the same Touchpad.
Im not expert but by the way it behaves i think it could be an internal electrical problem? interference? not properly grounded maybe?
so does anyone else is having or have had the same problem? is there a solution??
and in case i cant solve it, what steps should i follow to use my warranty?? i still have around 8 months of warranty

It sounds like you've done most of the troubleshooting needed to eliminate Software as being the issue. I would open a Service Support call with HP at 800-HP-INVENT. Follow the prompts and make sure you relay to the Support Agent everything you've explained here.

Power Supply Problems dv6000 - Please Help

Hi,
I have a weird problem with my power supply to HP Pavillion dv6000.
When i turn on my computer the power supply flickers periodically every 2 seconds as if there is a position problem but there isn't.
When i turn off my computer with the battery inside it shows that it's charging but sometimes it doesn't.
When i take the battery out of the computer the computer doesn't charge at all.
Anyone had the same problems?

HP released BIOS updates for some models with charging problems. Check your drivers page using button at top of this page_'Support & Drivers'.
Be sure to use complete model number as shown in Section 1 or P/N shown in Section 2 when searching for correct page.

MSI GE70 2OE Touchpad help!!

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I don't believe I've found a solution to my particular problem. I have the MSI GE70 2OE Laptop and I had bought the Logitech G700s external mouse and so when I'm trying to Fn+F3 the touchpad mouse doesn't turn off. I've tried disabling it in the device manager but that did not solve the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Sorry if this is a repost or if it's already been solved.

Have you tried using the touchpad settings in the driver? There should be a setting to turn the touchpad off when an external mouse is installed.

Macbook Touchpad help

i got ahold of a macbook 3,1 by trading my desktop for it. When my friend had this macbook it was "broken" so i went ahead and xferd all her goodies to her new computer and i reformatted it and reinstalled mac osx leopard.
i took it over to her house today and she told me "i used to be able to swipe,pinch, and rotate with the track pad." so i looked through the settings searched the web and i cant find anything that say this model (3,1) can do these things.
as of now it does have some multi-touch features, like tapping 2 fingers for right clicking, 2 find scrolling but nothing else. my friend swears she used to do more, so what im asking is: did i do something wrong installing mac osx? am i missing something, a trackpad update? do these features really exist for the 3,1 version of the macbook?

See i figured that much , dave. because her wife also has a macbook which is unibody and i think she used her wife's for so long when hers broke down that she doesn't remember, ill just drop the convo with my friend and keep letting her think what she thinks. its mine now anyways.

Touchpad bottom buttons stopped working

something strange happend to my laptop (ThinkPad T520), yesterday bottom buttons of touchpad just stopped working... upper buttoms seems to work fine, except for one thing, in Ubuntu sometimes they don't work too and I noticed that turning off and on the touchpad helps. In Windows upper buttoms seem to work fine, but bottom buttons still do not work.
since bottom buttons issue relates to both OSs I have it looks to be something with laptop itself, I had no problems with touchpad or keyboard for 1.5 years of using it (I even reinstalled Ubuntu yesterday, I thought something happened to my system, but it didn't help, still the same issues, and still I have to turn on/off sometimes...)
My OSs:
1) Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
2) Windows 7
I did not update anything during last few days, and actually I use Windows only to check something (so rare enough), so I'm sure I was not updating anything by myself there. Although I can't say that anything was updated automatically, and I could just miss that it happened.
Unfortunately for me I am in the business trip, I am limited to what I can do about it, as well as feel uncomfortable to work with my laptop now (I got used to use my bottom buttoms with touchpad...). Is here anything I could do about it on my own without any risk to damage anything?

actually I was wrong regards Windows, touchpad works strange there, by default pressing anything (except for bottom buttons, they do not work at all, as I wrote) opns a popup menu. I've applied all important and advised updated from Lenovo, also I've updated my bios to the last available version (I believe 1.42). Nothing changed, turning touchpad on/off, even in bios, does not change anything there. Using UltraNav (also installed the last available) I turned of extra functionality for touchpad buttons, and now at least upper buttons works in expected way, presing touchpad also do not show popup anymore.
after bios updating, in Ubuntu no visible changes: upper buttons function as before, touchpad itself works well, bottom buttons do not work at all. Lokks like I can't do anything about it

Pointing devices to beat Old Man Arthritis

I've posted earlier on getting a keyboard that will work with my clumsy arthritic hands, and settled with an IBM Model M that I love. I'm still fighting the meeces for a good fit. The Microsoft Elite Wireless put a lot of stress on my wrist, so when it died I got a Microsoft Natural Laser 6000. Nice mouse, easier on the wrist and fingers, but no matter how I change the settings I can't get fine movement. I have a new Logitech Marble mouse that is nice, but no scroll bar and I use that feature a lot. I can't use the Synaptics driver with my Adesso stand-alone touchpad, and the tapping is far too light for me if I leave it set to the default PS/2 or IMS/2 settings in xorg.conf. I'm at a loss as to what to try next, I know the problem can be solved.
Any ideas? I know there are a couple of odd designs out there like the vertical mouse, but I don't know if that would help. The best so far has been the touchpad, if I could just turn off the tapping. Another solution would be to use the trackball on the right, if I can find one of the scrollbar (only) that once were sold to clip to a laptop.
I'd sure appreciate any help or advice offered,

they tried some stuff like vertical mice, special keyboards and some other stuff in trelationship with special medical problems. also they had some statements from doctors who are specialiced on this.
The touchpad helps, but swelling in the joints of my hand and wrist make me clumsy and the "tapping" feature is too sensitive for me.
Synaptics has a nice Linux driver to adjust that feature or turn it off, but they don't make a stand-alone touchpad. Adesso makes a stand-alone touchpad, but no drivers. I emailed both companies - Adesso said bluntly "no, we don't support Linux", but Synaptics sent a very nice personal reply saying that they were getting many such requests and were working with their OEMs to offer such a product. I'm now a big Synaptics fan , but it may be a long time before I can buy a touchpad from them.
short summary as far as i remember: you have to try it out but for most of the people there was a great improvement (is it the right word?). i will have a look if i have the magazine still here.
if yes i will post some stuff from there in english. i think they also had some links in the article.
as far as i remember the doctors said there should be a solution for most of the people.
PERHAPS i can post some email-adress of the author or some doctors so you could send them a mail with your question referring to the article i am talking about. the language should be no problem.
I would very much appreciate that if you can find the time, there's no hurry for a reply so please don't inconvenience yourself. Right now the problem is manageable, but it's a progressive disease.

Yoga 2 touchpad does not disable when in tablet mode(after updating to 17.0.19) please help !!

i have yoga 2 pro 13
had the latest driver for the touchpad installed from the lenovo website but allwyas had problems with the tow finger scrooling...
so i updated it toe the last virsion of the Synaptics site - the 17.0.19 17Oct13 ver
now everything works perfect but the only thing that it does never disaple automaticaly and not even manually in tablet mode so when i use it in tablet mode happens lots of times that im touching the trackpad from behind and it makes a mass !!!!!

with that driver i allways had scrolling problems with tow fingers... instead of scrolling it change the zoom screen all the time
and i sow it's known problems so i had to install the Synaptics driver....

Help with touchpad issue!!

After looking on the web, I realise this is not an isolated issue and many people have had it.
*Problem in bold if you cant be bothered reading everything :)*
The problem I have is with the touchpad on my Macbook Pro. This morning my mac had a funny turn and kept freezing soon after loading up the desktop. I could move around with the touchpad but not do much else, so I restarted and plugged in an external mouse and this worked. So I was really annoyed (My TV had decided it was going to pack in aswell this morn) and was about to hurl my mac at the TV to teach them both a lesson when my TV fixed itself and my touchpad gained some usability.
This is the strangest part - to start with the touchpad could double click - but you had to use three fingers instead of two, it could three finger swipe - but with four fingers and 5 fingers for expose!! But I couldn't single click. *Now, However, I can do everything on the mac by touching the pad but there is no response when I physically click the pad down. You can hear the click but nothing happens, unless you press really hard, in which case it works 1 out of 5 attempts.*
My macbook is only four months old, so I'm presuming it is still under warranty? However, I didn't buy directly from Apple but instead from Currys, will this make a difference. I would just take it in to an Apple Store but the nearest one is about 1.5 hours away and I have no car So I don't want to waste money and time getting there only for them to turn me away/ have no warranty!!

For some reason, I can no longer use these laptop touchpad functions: moving up and down a web page, and zooming. Help! I feel handicapped.

I used to be able to use these touchpad movements on my Samsung laptop, but not anymore.

3. Check these settings:

1. If you changed either of the previous two settings, test scrolling to see if it works. If it doesn't work, or if you didn't change either setting, double click mousewheel.withnokey.sysnumlines to change it from true to false (or vice-versa).

HP Pavillion G Series touchpad faulty. HP started helping then said product was out of warranty

My laptop (HP Pavilion g6-1343sa Notebook) doesn't work properly and hasn't done since the first day I used it. The cursor can be very erratic, flickering around the screen when I'm not even touching the touch pad. Sometimes when I am using the touch pad it will only move vertically up and down the screen, or it will start zooming in and out on the web page I am viewing as if I was pinching the touch pad and not simply trying to move the cursor around.
It didn't happen so much when the laptop was brand new and I didn't really use it very much to notice, but it's increasingly getting worse to the point where I can't use the laptop without disabling the touch pad and plugging in a mouse. I tried uninstalling the touchpad software and it seemed to be better for a while but I think that was just coincidence and the problem has come back worse then ever.
I tried to put up with it but it got the the last few days of my warranty and I realised I needed to do something or I would be stuck with a faulty laptop, so I contacted HP customer support. They advised me to carry out a factory reset of the laptop and see how that worked. I pointed out that my warranty was about to expire, and was assured that since I raised the support case during the warranty period, it would be honoured even if I reported back to them outside of the warranty period. I have this in writing from HP, yet when I reported back to the customer support adviser that the problem hadn't gone away I was immediately forwarded onto the complaints department who told me that they weren't prepared to help me because the product was now out of warranty/
I complained to them and they eventually said that if I had proof I had been told that they would help me even after the warranty expired, I could forward it to an email address they gave me. So I did this and they have ignored my email. I've sent various emails since this and they are still ignoring me. I emailed the original customer support adviser, and they have ignored me. And I sent an email to the MD of HP via the website, and so far this email has been ignored.
I've been sold faulty hardware, lied to, and ignored. I'm utterly disappointed with HP and thought I would share my experience with you. Is anyone from HP prepared to look into this for me, and fix/replace my laptop?
