  • N200 Battery Type Optio

    Hi there everyone,
I've spend some time reviewing the past ~0 pages and searching, but did not find a specific answer to my question. There seems to be a lot of people knowledgable of battery related material on this forum, so hopefully someone can lend me a hand.
This question is with respect to the Muvo N200 Micro.
What AAA battery options do I have for this device? The best thing I've found so far is the user manual of the V200 which said it required an Alkaline AAA. I am not very literate in battery types. Can I use batteries such as Lithium-Ion? Also, Enegizer seems to have NI-MH as their recharable alkaline line. I would like to use recharable batteries but I do not know what will work with the N200 and what would cause potential damage.
Thanks so much for any help.
    subu

    Thanks for the info!
So you guys recommend to use non-rechargeable alkaline batteries over any rechargable options? I never knew that rechargables had less of a lasting time (compared to a full non-rechargable). Although I guess it makes sense. I am thinking that over time, the rechargables would also last less time per charge until I would have to replace them.
I am a little worried about the long term cost of buying batteries (I can find them around $.5-$2.5 CAD per battery if I buy 8-packs). I may need to work some numbers out to see. Maybe I should consider the Zen Micro. I don't plan to use the MP3 player for sports (though snowboarding with music would be nice), so as long as it's portable I'm happy.

  • What battery type for Tungsten E2?

    1) Could someone tell me what battery I need for the Tungsten E2; mine depletes quickly and is now on electrical charge.
    2) How mch time do I have to replace it when in the process of battery exchange?. Have Hot synced data to computer, but hope not to lose it on Palm during the process..
            Thanks so mch. MC
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

Your Palm has flash memory, that means that when he battery dies or is disconnected, you won't lose your data. Basically, you have eternity to replace it.
As for battery type, you can get one at usedpdaparts.com, eBay or amazon.com under "tungsten e2 battery." (Keep in mind they come in slightly different capacities, the stock one, the high capacity one etc (1050 mAh, 1100 mAh, etc.) Another idea is to buy a decent condition e2 or model with a compatible battery and swap it in. I noticed that an entire PDA seems to be more cost effective than buying individual parts, but thats just my experience.
webosnation.com is another option for help.

  • Fried motherboard, battery still charging?

It was almost 12 days ago when I accidentally spilled hot water all over my keyboard and the computer automatically shut down. I have already tried to save it by keeping it in a box of rice and silica packs, but after a week it still would not turn on. My motherboard probably fried from the water, as my brother reported that he saw the marks when he opened the macbook that I bought last year.
Out of curiosity, I plugged in my power cord and strange enough, the green light still turned on. It does seem a bit faint though, but I just wanted to know if there's still hope of it coming back to life if I continue to wait it out? My warranty is done, but I know Apple wouldn't fix a water spill under warranty anyways.

    Hi
I just wanted to know if there's still hope of it coming back to life if I continue to wait it out?
Rather unlikely, I'd say... the charging part (even assuming it's working normally) is a separate little board on (at least some) mbp's.
Liquid inside, even just water, often needs dismantling/cleaning rather than just drying out, pre-suppsoing no actual damage to components.
On the upside, such as there is - parts fetch (sometimes) silly amounts on ebay & elsewhere - you've got perhaps a good battery, top & bottom case, lid, drives & fans maybe, display, keys, etc etc
Ok, it needs dismantling to get the best amount, but buying a couple of screwdrivers & watching an iFixit video could get you a few hundred $. Even if you don't want to strip it, someone'll buy it for spares & do the same thing.

  • RTC (CMOS-BIOS) Battery Types and Replacement Help

    hi,
    my notebook: hp g3050ea
i'm trying to replace my RTC battery. Today i bought a CR2032 Lithium Battery. But after that i noticed my computer's RTC battery is little different. İt is Mitsubishi CR2030E
i'm not sure if  it is the right part for my pc. Can I use any CR2032 battery or should I use CR2030E ?
    i bought this battery
     Mitsubishi CR2030E

I think that you may use it. The "E" on the old battery could be "enhanced" and the size is the same as I noticed. The main issue should be the size and the voltage. Both are the same..

  • How do I determine which battery type I have?

    Hello Everyone,
Is there a way of determining which battery model I have in my unibody 13" Macbook Pro?
I know there are different models like A1185, MA561, MA566 etc.
I didn't see any of these numbers listed in the system profiler.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This looks like it's the A1322.

  • Bluetooth mouse battery type

Does anybody know of any official (Apple) recommendation not to use rechargeable batteries in the wireless mouse?
I have recently been having problems getting my mouse to reconnect with the iMac G5 after the batteries were recharged (required about once a month). I had to restart multiple times before it would connect. Once connected, everything was fine until the mouse was again turned off. I have been using Ni-MH batteries, marked 1.2 volts (although they measure 1.5 when fully charged), the same as in the keyboard - which has been problem-free.
Last time I charged the batteries the mouse wouldn't reconnect at all, and after discussions with Apple Support a new mouse was tried. Same problem! After another lengthy discussion with Apple, I was told that Apple do not recommend rechargeable batteries and I should use standard alkaline ones because of the slightly higher voltage. And I did install alkaline batteries and the mouse now works fine with them (although the first one didn't).
So what is the official position? Is there any Apple article or recommendation on this topic (my original Dec '04 mouse manual says that rechargebale batteries are OK) ? And has anybody else had similar experiences, or are there any particular types of rechargeables that are better than others?
I really don't want to join the legions of users who seem to be taking out mortgages to keep their mice in single-use batteries!!
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Barry,
thanks for the welcome, and that pointer to the Apple position. And yes, I am using the Apple BT mouse.
But given that position, do you have any idea why my fairly new, quality, freshly-charged Ni-MH batteries will not reconnect when regular alkalines are OK, and why would the Apple technician state that rechargeables are not recommended (other than that it agrees with my experience) ? It's obviously related to the fact that the rechargeables measure 1.3 volts where the alkalines measure 1.5, but is the mouse operation that marginal? And if the mouse isn't marginal, is it likely that I have some faulty hardware (although two different Apple mice have shown the same problem) ?
Ni-MH batteries are no problem in the keyboard.

  • Dead motherboard battery?

what can affect? can it prevent correct booting?can stop the video card from working?

    Hi Dr.Monti-
A dead battery can affect many things. Considering the cost and ease of replacement it is a cheap and dirty fix if it works.

  • How to replace battery on MSI K9N SLI motherboard please

Its my first attempt at repairing a PC.  (the pc was constructed for me  by a local man no longer in area)
I get an error message at boot up and think it could be the battery. Does the battery pop out and easily replaceable?
I am reasonably active on messing about with modern life things.  I do have the manual for above but cannot see any instructions about fitting or changing.
So if anyone can give me a heads up or a link on what to do I would appreciate the help.

Originally I remember there was a text re boot order, but I now cannot find it.
Is that because I requested BIOS to accept defaults and also to optimise bios defaults?
Yes, probably. We can guess only for what "a text re boot order" you are talking about,
but it doesn't matter as your PC is working ok.

  • File type vs. Battery Life (zen xtra 30

for a while i was getting about 0-2 hrs (estimated, never acutally timed) per charge after having the player for a few months. then i tried changing my files from wma 92kbps to mp3 320kbps, but the mp3 files took up too much space (even thought they sounded really good). now im back to wma@92, but im only getting 6 hrs out of the battery. i've even left on till it ran out, then recharged it...but the batter still depleted faster than normal. what would be the best sounding file type that uses the least amout of battery type. ohh, just to make sure...i've been reading these fourms and have gotten the impression that the zen xtra can charge via usb. if this is true, could someone help me w. that--it would be most appreciated.

The file type shouldn't really matter that much, though SSR is right that high bit rates will use more battery up than low bit rates. I hear that EAX turned on really eats up the battery. I never use it. It seems a gimick to me, but lots of other people seem to love it.
I don't think the Zen Xtra will charge throught the USB port. The manual does not mention it.

  • Pavilion dv6629us battery not charging

About a week and a half ago my laptop stopped charging my battery, it detects the battery and it says is charging but its not actually charging the battery. I did a BIOS update and still the same problem, I also turned off the computer to see if the battery would charge when the computer was off but no luck. I tried to charge the battery on Ubuntu and on Windows 7 and it does the same thing. I ran the HP Battery Check and it tells me:
An error was encountered trying to access the battery. Please reinsert the battery and the AC adapter to retest the battery.
I have a brand new battery so I know is not the battery. I removed the battery and reinserted it and it still does the same thing. When I click on the bottom right corner battery icon it says that is plugged in and charging. Whats wrong?
    Here are some screenshots:
    Windows 7
Ubuntu 11.04 - the Natty Narwhal
In Ubuntu Linux I get this battery status on the Terminal:
    Battery Check
    present: yes
    design capacity: 6000 mAh
    last full capacity: unknown
    battery technology: rechargeable
    design voltage: 14800 mV

    design capacity low: 150 mAh

    capacity state: ok

    remaining capacity: 0 mAh
    present voltage: 0 mV

If you already have checked the problem is not the battery ( usually when the battery is new or when the battery is charged on another notebook), or the AC to DC converter, then you must check this first:
    1) Remove your battery,
    2) Unplug your power cord from the notebook,
    3) Push the power button for 15 seconds (if necessary you can hold down for 1 minute),
    4) Plug the power cord into the notebook,
    5) If the power led is on, your power adapter is probably working,
    6) Push the power button,
    7) If the computer powers on, your power adapter is probably working ( it's more certain than before),
    8) Try to use the computer,
    9) After Windows finished the entire start up process, you must insert the battery,
    10) It's expected that the battery icon shows charging.
If it happens to you,  therefore the problem is in the motherboard. The exact point it is in the ICC responsible for check and control the status of the battery. Up to know I don't know where is located the fault ICC. This fault ICC is a Voltage Comparator, usually it is an Operational Amplifier.
If you remove the powerplug the computer will start to drain the battery until the end, but if you reinsert the powerplug  the computer WILL NOT detect, and it will continue to drain the battery until the end.
If you remove the battery with the powerplug inserted, the computer will turn off, cause it doesn´t recognize the power source from the cordplug.
Remove the power plug, insert it again without the battery and the computer must be able to turn on.
If you turn on the computer, and after this you insert the battery than the computer will start to charge the battery.
    Resume:
    A) To charge the battery you must insert the battery after the computer it is on.
    B) To use the battery power you must disconnect the power cord, but you won't be able to charge it until you turn off the computer  and remove the battery, and to follow the step A.
    I verified that the problem happens to all DV6000 ( DV60xx ), DV6100 ( DV61xx ), DV6200 ( DV62xx ), DV6300 ( DV63xx ), DV6400 ( DV64xx )and DV6500 ( DV65xx ) series.
My case is a HP Pavilion DV6104eu, that I bought in UK.

  • Battery suddenly not found

Seemingly randomly, acpi has not been able to detect my battery. Here is the acpi output:
    Battery 0: Unknown, 0%
/sys/class/power_supply/ contains two directories, BAT1 and ADP1, as it always had.
Whenever I use my computer, I have to have it plugged in or it will shutdown, even though there is a green light that indicates the battery is fully charged. Also if I unplug my computer from ac, it will stay on for about a minute before it shuts down, so I know that the battery is in fact working
The only thing that I can think may have caused this issue is that I very recently updated the linux kernel.
    Thanks

Okay; so your next steps are; finding out the motherboard and battery type and check if any bugs are already reported. If not; report one so this can be fixed in the next release. This is a good place to start: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/
