Dv7 6014 fan failure message

Is there documentation on opening a dv7-6014 to replace the cooling fan please? We got the 'detected cooling fan failure - 90? - shutting down in 15secs' during a windows update. Its running now with an external fan on the vent.
Also have a dv7-5003, which has run hot, and  noisy fan all its life - temp now is under 20C ambient, and the left side of the body is almost too hot to keep a hand on it. The 6014 has vents at the rear left, but the 5003 does not...??? Documentation on opening this model please?
thanks

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.1 - Fan-Failure SNMP-Trap Issue

    Hello,
I am facing the following Prime Infrastructure (v2.1) issue:
    - A Fan-Failure SNMP-Trap from a Cisco 3650 switch doesn't appear on Prime, but a Link-Failure from the same switch does.
    - The both events appears on Prime with Syslog.
    - The command "snmp-server enable traps envmon fan shutdown supply temperature status" is set up.
    - The switch is in "Managed" state in PI, I have checked the ACL at the "snmp-server community" command, it is okay.
    - I have set up an SNMP-Trace for the switch on PI, but only "SNMP Null was returned for class com.cisco.server.managedobjects.bridge.Fan3KStats attribute fanIndex" arrived. Please find the log below.

It seems like PI and the switch doesn't understand each other concerning the fan...
Thanks for any ideas, comments and feedbacks,
    Csaba

I have the very same problem.
The switch has a power supply error (one of the two is down). There is the syslog message in PI about it, but no event has created, so nor alarm is there as well.
When I check the status of the switch in the Device Work Center, and choose the Environment in Device Details I can see that PI has not realized the power supply error.
However when I click on the Sync for this very device the power supply status is updated, but still no event or alarm.
This is the case with the FANs as well.

Aloha all, my G5 started making a strange sound, sorta like whirrr, whirr, whirr, over and over non stop. Not loud, but definitely noticeable. I checked my logs and it shows "fan failure". My question is how do find out which fan has failed? Mahalo for any assistance. JB

  • HP DV7-6163US Fan Trouble

    Hi guys,
I dropped my laptop like two feet inside of a case, and now the fan isn't working properly. For the last week, it's off most of the time, but does come on intermittently. This morning I got the 90B fan error message at startup. It's a Pavilion DV7-6163us.
Is it just the connector loose? Or do I need to replace the whole thing? I have the service manual, and I basically need to take everything off to replace the fan, but can I check the connection without having to do that?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Very hard to say because dropping a machine can have many, yes many, unkown damages and can have unpreditable outcomes. At this stage you only see an error with its fan but you only hope this is the ONLY one (I also hope this for you too). The following manual shows you where the connectors of the fan:

Hi, I’ve recently bought an iPad2 and can’t get connected with AppStore or iTunes, when I tap on these icons a grey page pops up saying is loading but never opens the page, no failure message is displayed, it just keep saying is loading.
Apparently it is not an issue with wifi since Safari, You Tube and Maps work well, I’ve tried some of the tips, e.g. log off/on my Id, change password but no one worked.
Your help will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Luis.

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

  • Can not connect to the App store I keep getting a connection failure message. Mail and Safari are working fine. Also Iphoto wont update to newer version and itunes does open up properly.

I have recently bought a new imac. Imported all my files etc. from my G5 using Timemachine.
    Iphoto requires updating but wont!
itunes wont open up properly the text is wrong!!
I keep getting a connection failure message when trying to visit the App store.
Safari and Mail are working fine.
My Apple Id is also fine as it works with my ipad.
    Any suggestions?

Post subject: NSURLErrorDomain error -1100 in OS X 10.8
If you check for software updates using the App Store in OS X 10.8 and get "NSURLErrorDomain error -1100" the problem may be with your Software Update preferences. This is particularly likely if you were using a custom Apple Software Update server. To solve the problem, quit the App Store, move the following two files (if present) to the trash, restart, and only then rerun App Store updates:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist.lockfile

  • Canon iR C2380i Failure Message

    Hi,
I'm trying to setup my laptop so I can print wireless via a Canon iR C2380i. I'm running OS X 10.6.7 on a MacBook Pro i5.
The problem is when I'm trying to print a document, I get the failure message "AN ERROR OCCURRED.: -50" and then a print with the same message is printed.
I'm using the PS v3.20 driver as I read this would be the best to use.
Anyone has an idea what to do?
    Thanks,
    Mads

Hello and welcome to Apple Discussions.
The -50 error can occur when you have selected the wrong IP protocol when creating the print queue. The PS v3 and UFR2 v2 drivers prefer the LPD protocol. If you created the IP queue using IPP then this can cause the error. So if you did select IPP for the protocol, then delete the current queue and add it again, this time selecting IP > LPD.
The cause of the error can be that the copier does not support the printer language of the driver being used. I agree that PS is the best driver to use but you need to ensure that the copier does support this print language. You can confirm this by opening a web browser and typing the IP address of the iR C2380. This will open the internal web page of the copier, called Remote UI. With this open, down the left column you will see a variety of buttons. Select the one that says Add Func (short for Additional Functions). In the expanded list then select Custom Settings. Now in the right pane you should see the heading of Printer Settings. Under this will be the protocols supported. You will see UFRII but you also want to see PS (short for Postscript). If you don't see PS then you will have to use the UFRII driver on the Mac. The latest version, 2.24, resolves an issue with OS X 10.6.7 where the document would not print due to the default Quality Setting.
If the iR C2380i does have Postscript and changing the PS driver print queue to LPD still causes an error then I may need some more information about the network setup. You mention using wireless. Do you know if the iR C2380i is connecting via Ethernet to the same wireless router that the Mac is using?

    Hello astrobilia,
Let's start by checking your BIOS settings since you have already inspected the CPU Fan.
This HP troubleshooting article should help us
    Error: CPU Fan Failed
If you are unsure about the CPU Fan settings or you don't see the settings. Navigate through the menus and reset the settings to default.
After resetting the BIOS try booting the computer and monitor the results.
That is the easy fix before we start looking at having to replace parts.

  • Need to send success or failure message to BAPI of SQL query action block

    Hi All,
I need to send success or failure message(i.e. 1 or 0) to BAPI which has been called below sql query action block in transaction
Here in SAP, i have created on BAPI with one import parameter and one export parameter.
In the sql query action block, it insert records in the database table. If it fail or success, that message(numeric value 1 or 0) has to send to SAP program through BAPI.
I have created a SAP ABAP program which sends message to MII Message listener through RFC then in the process rule message it will call transaction, in transaction, sql query will insert records into database table.  if it success or fail, it will pass to BAPI. And i calling that BAPI in the same SAP ABAP Program to show in the output screen.
Here the issues, i am not getting the value from BAPI which has send by the transaction in MII.
SAP Jco, I have mapped in conf. links --> BAPI input with sql query sucess

When a user requests to create a record and fill out the required details, it goes to approver for approval. Upon approval, record gets checked-in to MDM and then from MDM it is syndicated to SAP R3 using an IDOC. Now, what I need is, if PI/XI is succesful to create that record in R3, then the success message should be sent to BPM for performing some further actions. And if it is a failure message returned from PI/XI then BPM will take a different lane.
Can I do this? If yes how? I read about PI Integration Repository, Java Mapping APIs etc but to be frank I am not able to understand it at all. Please help.

    Thanks John,
Before I close this thread, following are my understandings:
    1) I need an intermediate event who's trigger will be mapped to PI service
    2) That means, PI will use this webservice for sending the reply back to BPM event
    3) Accordingly BPM flow will be decided
End-point URL is the WS URL and that is also available in WS Registry. Apart from this, whatever PI side configurations or development is required that is out of our purview. Is that correct?

When I click a link inside Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, it results in a "General Failure" message instead of loading the link inside Firefox 7 (previous versions of Firefox loaded OK, this issue has only arrived with the recent upgrade).

See this lnk for a fix, it worked for me!
