DV7 Notebook Sysytem Board (00A) Missing Product info at startup

Hello All,
When My Laptop ( HP dv7 ) starts up I get the error Sysytem Board (00A) Missing Product name, configuration, serial number and product number.  My laptop does startup after that error message and appears to be fine except now, It will not connect to the internet with a hardwired connection.  It will connect wirelessly though.  I did check to make sure it was not the ethernet cable itself.  The cable will establish a connection when I connect it to another computer.
Any help would be much appreciated and let me know if more information is needed.
Thanks!

This happens when it's sent in to HP for repair and the technician has forgotten to reenter this information. The BIOS chip is missing these things.
Other things that cause this are installing a preprogrammed BIOS chip or a bad BIOS flash.
The only way to fix this is to send it to the nearest HP authorized repair depot where they can enter the missing information.
The utility for this is not available to the general public.
Did you replace the system board ?

    Hi,
Boot into the bios (computer setup) and look on the main screen for the product information.  It should look similar to the below image depending on the bios version.
Is the information for your laptop as complete compared to the above image?  If not, which fields are missing?

I get this message every time I start up suddenly. What does it mean and how do I fix It? I just bought this laptop from Staples about 4 months ago!!!

It is very important that you post the product name or product number of your notebook and the version of the installed BIOS here in your thread.
    How to identify your notebook.
Remove the battery and look in the compartment where the battery was installed. You should see a printed part number and a product name. Please post one or both of them (with all alphanumeric characters here).
It also helps if you post the country of purchase
I will pass that information to an internal HP contact as soon as you post it to see if we can get that resolved for you.

  • How do I enable TPM in the bios on Product name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

    Hi,
I have run into a problem trying to enable MS Bitlocker on Windows 8.1 on
Product name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC
    BIOS version is: F.1C
In the Windows UI, the TPM (Trusted Computing Module) management console says that I need to enable TPM in the BIOS.
    Issue:
There does not appear to be any proverbial "on" switch in the BIOS for TPM versions 1.2 (or 2).
    Question:
Anyone out there know how to resolve this?
I know there may be a way to get around this using group policy on the machine or to buy a USB key solution.
Looking for the hardware solution in the laptop if possible please.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi:
As far as I am aware, HP consumer notebooks do not have a Trusted Platform Module chip.
Check the device manager...if there is a TPM chip, there will be a Security Devices category in the device manager, and you would see the TPM chip listed under that category.
If not, then there isn't one.

    Hey Sam55555,
I see that you're having an issue with the webcam.
Could you provide me with a model and product number of your notebook.
So that I may look into this further to try and provide you with more helpful instructions.
Also, this Document should help you out. If it doesn't let me know the full model name and i will find a document for your notebook.
What i consider doing is the section that says "Reinstalling the original webcam program that came with your computer".

  • Missing products

    Hi,
I need to display products (5 core) if my customer's currently do not have them... (to elaborate more, if they have any 1 of them then I need to display 4, if they have 2 then I need to display 3 and so on)... Please advice how to do it...
I am facing a chellenge to write an sql, plus, need some advice as how to display it...
    Thanks

    Amanda,
Let me use a scenario to provide you more details
I have a table with customer and product info... something like this
    Table_A
    Cust 1 Prod 1 $ x
    Cust 1 Prod 2 $ x
    Cust 1 Prod 4 $ x
    Cust 2 Prod 1 $ x
    Cust 2 Prod 2 $ x
    Cust 3 Prod 2 $ x
Based on Table_A, I have an interactive report with a link to another report.... When the user click on the customer name, it takes it to customer detail report... where user get details on the individual customer... something like this
    Cust1 1
    Cust 1 Prod 1 $ x
    Cust 1 Prod 2 $ x
    Cust 1 Prod 4 $ x
    <B> Issue 1... Query </B>
If you notice, cust 1 do not have product 3, I want to show that product... Twist is that I don't want to show the complete list of missing products, as in our company we push for certain products (most 5) I want to compare the list of missing products against these 5 products (which I do not want to store in the table too) and then show the ones which are missing...
my query would be something like this:
    select a.prod from table _A a
    where
    products not in (select b.prod from table_A b where a.cust = b.cust) and
products in ('Prod 1', 'prod 2', 'prod 3')
    <B> Issue 2... Display </B>
I need some assistance as how can I show these products on the right hand side... a list with Bullets might work... can you please provide details as how to create a list of bullets based on the SQL

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC won't play blu-ray anymore

HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC used to play blu-ray discs. it had been a while since i have tried to play one and my computer has, no doubt, updated countless times since.
when i load a blu-ray disc the HP DVD player starts, and there is a black screen which says 'loading' and to press play. pressing play does not start the disc. it used to ask me if i wanted to check for updates, but selecting 'yes' never seemed to find any, and selecting 'no' just brought you back to the same place.
i have tried downloading the sp50935 DVD update to fix the problem, but when installing i get a message that says the 'install has been stopped due to an unsupported operating system' (to that effect), but i use Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1, the same that came installed when purchased.
    any ideas?

    Hi jim_douglas,
Welcome to the HP Forums! Sorry to hear about the blu-ray issues. I will be happy to help but I will need your product number?

  • No sound - no beats audio. dv7 notebook Windows 7 64 bit.

No sound - no beats audio. dv7 notebook PC-SER #2CE2012FSD, IDT High DEF Audio CODEC, Windows 7 64 bit, Product # A6X08UA#ABA. Need ASAP for school. Please help.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58001-58500/sp58226.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC graphics card issues

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC (Product number: QG704EA#B1A) with an AMD radeon HD 6700M graphics card. Most of my games crash, im always given a graphical error, i experience freezes, lagging and general overheating. This only happens when playing games.
I have done every update Intel, radeon and hp offers and nothing works including bios updates. All my research tells me its just a bad compatibility with the graphics card. Can that really be true? Have i wasted over a thousand euro on just bad hardware??
My warrenty expired already, i had no idea this could happen with a laptop.

  • HP CoolSense 2.0 removed and refusing to install after updating Windows on DV7 Notebook

Last year I got the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC and it had Coolsense 2.0 on it but sometime last month I updated my laptop against my better judgement and CoolSense got removed, I love to play games and it's really difficult when you're trying to play Minecraft and your laptop overheats, I can invest in a cooling pad for my laptop but I'd rather have my computer running with CoolSense and save the $30 I would spend on purchasing a cooling pad for my computer. I have tried reinstalling it many times but I get an error message which is pictured below. I know my computer supports 2.0, it's just failing to install, and to get to the area where it even attempts to install I have to go into my SWSetup folder and look for the setup files manually, other wise it just says it's preparing the installer and never installs.
    Product number: LW472UA#ABA
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1
    Error:

Try updating the HP Software Framework. In the Windows Installer Clean Up, it shows it listed, but it is not the most recent version. The HP Software Framework is required for Coolsense to work properly.
My recommendation would be to uninstall the HP Software Framework and then install this more recent version:: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-110992-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
After installing that, try to reinstall CoolSense using the download here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=ob-99160-1
Also, some systems have CoolSense tied to HSPA, do you know if HSPA is functioning properly?

Post the installed operating system version ( and whether it is 32 or 64-bit)
Have you gone to the device manager to see if the sound drivers are loaded and enabled?
Your drivers are located here. Download and install the operating system appropriate version that you have in your notebook.
