Dv7t-3300 and MS bluetooth notebook mouse , can they peacefully coexist?

I know the mouse works, because it works great on my old HP laptop. But it will not show up when trying to add it. The mouse IS discoverable, bluetooth IS on. Would someone please shed some light on this issue?

Hi,
Max is 8Gb using the following manual:
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01859666.pdf
And from the following site:
   https://www.ramcity.com.au/upgrade/hp-compaq/pavilion-dv7-series-notebook/dv7t-3300-cto/73893
The above manual shows you how to add/replace RAM. Looks like you have to buy 2 x 4Gb sticks.
Regards.

  • Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 continually drops and wont reconnec

    I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 thats a few years old, but with my new OSX 10.6 MacBook Air, it keeps dropping the connection to the mouse. I can't tell if its when i close the lid all the time, sometimes it wont pick it up even when i power the laptop down and back up, although the mouse is still on. Does anyone have any ideas, or recommendations on a travel mouse the same size that I should get that would work better with the new laptop? Wondering if its because the mouse is 3-4 years old, but i figure bluetooth is bluetooth right?

    I'm not sure how the Air handles bluetooth with the lid shut in regards to sleeping. After around 40 minutes the machine cuts off entirely so it will definitely drop the connection after that. Your batteries are fresh?

  • Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and OSX 10.6 - Compatibility issue

    I've bought a new MacBook Pro (2,53 GHz, 4 GB RAM) and OSX 10.6.4 . With the old one (MBP 2,16 GHz, 1 GB RAM, still with OSX 10.6.4) the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 went perfectly.
    Now I'm experiencing a major compatibility issue: the same mouse, even with the same OS version but only a different MacBook Pro, won't be recognized.
    Bluetooth: activated
    Bluetooth firmware: latest
    Mouse: ON with batteries OK
    OPERATING SYSTEM: same (first restored via Time Machine and then updated with Apple Software Update)
    Suggestions?

    I went through many of the same frustrations as the members above...my mouse had been working after the upgrade and then when I set up for a presentation with a room full of teachers it wouldn't connect.  I replaced batteries, etc... so I resorted to the pad.
    When I got home i checked the batteries and tried to reconnect following all the "normal" steps until I read the comment above about removing the existing device in the bluetooth preferences.  Once I did that - the 5000 connected like a champ!  Yeah!  This is the one mouse that I have really appreciated, especially since both of the USB ports are side by side and don't allow for multiple USB connections from my "wide" cellular USB card.

  • [Solved] Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse - Scrolling

    Hi All,
    I have been able to pair my Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 with my new installation of Arch.
    All buttons work, and mouse movement is fine. However. I have been unable to get the scroll to work.
    I have been trying to achieve this using hotplugging method. I have saved an fdi file at /etc/hal/fdi/policy/btmouse.fdi
    <deviceinfo version="0.2">
      <device>
      <match key="info.capabilities" contains="input.mouse">
    #   <match key="info.product" contains="macintosh">
          <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheel" type="string">true</merge>
    #      <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheelButton" type="string">2</merge>
    #      <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheelTimeout" type="string">200</me$
          <merge key="input.x11_options.XAxisMapping" type="string">6 7</merge>
          <merge key="input.x11_options.YAxisMapping" type="string">4 5</merge>
    #     <merge key="input.x11_options.protocol" type="string">auto</merge>
        </match>
    #   </match>
      </device>
    </deviceinfo>
    I have looked through the forums and wiki and have been able to find little information regarding the scroll function of the mouse in hotplugging and what options correlate.
    The only info i have found is here --> http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Log … rble_Mouse.
    Could someone explain where i am going wrong...???

    Hi,
    I bought this mouse a few days ago, and it works fine, even scrolling. However, I don't use an xorg.conf file at all. Have you tried to get rid of it (take a backup of course first ) and see what happens? Also, although I tampered the fdi file for the synaptics touchpad, I didn't bother at all for the bluetooth mouse. Still, everything works fine.

  • Logitech V470  Vs Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

    Hi ,
    I would like to go for a Bluetooth (must be transceiver free) laser mouse .Among the following models , which one wud be the best choice ..
    1).Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks with Bluetooth technology
    2).Microsoft Bluetooth® Notebook Mouse 5000
    Any suggestions from existing users of these models ...or any other model which is better than the above two ?
    Thanks,
    Nelson

    I also was debating between these two mice, as I previously had a Mighty Mouse Laser BT, and its tracking was terrible. I also bought a Gear Heads 1600dpi mouse, and while the tracking was excellent on it, I couldn't stand how long it took to come 'back' after the computer had been to sleep and it would go into it's own 'sleep mode' within 2 minutes of inactivity, causing a delay before using it again that was well over 5 seconds - very annoying!
    I wound up buying the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 because I happened to like it's design a bit more and because it's rated at 1000dpi rather than the Logitech v470's 800dpi (Yeah I know... not a big difference).
    Nonetheless, I have a Time Capsule running at 5ghz and a Linksys router running at 2.4ghz and I notice no lag or skipping that has been reported with the v470. The response time of the mouse is excellent, and there is no lag/delay when using the mouse after a short period of inactivity. When resuming my MBP from sleep it comes back to life in about 3-4 seconds, which is even faster than the mighty mouse was for me.
    This mouse is considerably better than the (much cheaper) gear heads mouse I had before. Interestingly the gear heads mouse is 1600dpi and does provide a faster and slightly more precise tracking experience, but it goes to sleep every minute I leave it alone providing for a very long delay before it resumes (sometimes up to 10 seconds!)
    Something to note: without installing a third party driver (like Steermouse) you will not be able to get the extra 'back' button to work in OS X; this annoyed me slightly when I first paired it.
    It seems that the Microsoft 5000 might be the better choice for those who stumble upon this thread looking for the same thing I was!

    I believe the Bluetooth stack shown in the spec above is for a Toshiba device like this one.

    You may need a driver from Belkin for your adapter.

    Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

    This mouse has been working.  When I close the notebook it loses connection.  I have checked batteries, discoverability, etc.  I have even restarted computer.

  • Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

    I have a Toshiba Satellite M60, supposedly Bluetooth capable and have just purchased this mouse and have followed the mouse's instructions but it will not communicate with my laptop. Bluetooth software on the laptop says that Bluetooth is not ready. How do I make it ready? Will this mouse work on this computer?
    Thanks,

    Does Toshiba offer a free download to allow my Satellite M60 to work with the MS BT 5000 mouse?
    Ok, I'll try again.  Unless you purchased a Satellite M60-S8112ST or M60-S811ST and at the time of purchase specified and paid for the internal Bluetooth hardware, you don't have the internal hardware.  There is no 'magic wand' download that will create hardware out of thin air.
    I don't want a USB add-on. I have no ports left to spare even with two extenders, so it would have to be a download of software or a free card that I could install myself. Would you happpen to know the answer?
    I cannot speak for Toshiba, but I strongly doubt that there is a card, free or otherwise, that will provide you with what you want. AFAIK, a USB adapter is the only solution.

  • Microsoft Bluetooth NoteBook Mouse 5000 pairing problem with Mac OS X

    On day one which was last week Friday, Sept 25, my BT mouse was working perfectly fine, just until this morning and last night it stopped working.
    It does detect the mouse, it establishes connection but then I get an error message " The pairing attempt was unsuccessful. Make sure your mouse is in range of this computer, turned on and "discoverable" When ready click Continue to try again"
    Any help will be appreciated, thanks..

    I had the same problem. The cure is to boot off of the OSX DVD and when it attempts to find a mouse hold down the connect button on the bottom of the mouse. Keep holding it down until OSX recognizes the mouse. It may take a minute or two. After the mouse has been recognized you can exit before the installation requires software to be transferred. Then just select a normal reboot on the exit menu option.

  • Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 back button

    Ok, the thing has a long name, but its pretty cool. Does anyone know how to get the back button to be a back button, and not a scroll wheel click button? The software from Microsoft has a way to customize the scroll wheel click but not the back button click. Any ideas?

    What about using another mouse's driver? The mouse is awesome but I still don't have the back button working.

  • Cant pair my MS Bluetooth notebook mouse 5000 with my MBP

    I have been using the same mouse for weeks with this MBP 17". I was changing some system preferences and it stopped working. every time i try to reinstall it it is found but won't pair. I tried several times but NG

    Folks - I use a wireless mighty mouse and i had two different experiences. On my Mac Book and Mac Book Pro, no real issues except that boot camp itself doesn't recognize the mouse when booting and selecting a system to boot into. So i use the track pad and once in Windows (I use Vista), i click the mouse once and all is well.
    With the iMac, boot camp recognizes the moue but once in Vista, my wireless keypad doesn't work. i have a feeling that i need to use a wired keyboard to startup and then configure vista to recognize the wireless key pad.

  • Some bookmarks "gray out" and will neither work nor can they be deleted. FF 4.0, Win XP SP3. Have tried safe mode, restart, reboot, and manual deletion in the bookmarks organizer. None of these work.

    Only certain sites, such as CNN, will show the site name but not the URL in the Bookmarks Organizer. Sometimes they will appear on a restart. I noticed this in FF 3.16 and thought that FF4.0 might cure it but it hasn't. I've tried disabling hardware acceleration, all plugins, and the advice on the Firefox help site under "bookmarks don't work." I'm typing this from a different computer with essentially the same settings, OS, etc. and this does not show a problem on this machine. I've been through Task Manager, Processes and FF does not appear after shutdown.

    Re: Audigy2 ZS Platinum -Win XP SP2 - card not detectedF neur0n,
    Installation problems can have so many causes...but my first question is did you cancel installation of Windows drivers after it found the soundcard as new hardware? Second, and by way of example, recently the IT guy at work setup a new WinXP PC for me including an A2ZS card. But he installed the default Windows drivers for the soundcard. In Device Manager, I uninstalled these drivers and rebooted. Windows found new hardware. I cancelled the offer of Windows drivers and proceeded to install drivers, Creative software apps, and Mediasource from the original installation CD. Everything works fine now. Possibly you've done something similar to this procedure already, but If you decide to try it again, uninstall any software apps first.

  • (updated)UIScrollBar and my own class. Can they works together?

    Hi Eone,
    i'm implementing a uiscrollbar in a class of mine that extends textfield. Unluckly it gives to me  a lot of 1120 error, undefined property, in each row i use a property of this component (except the constructor).
    I read somewhere that As2 not allow to use uisbar in other type of class that extends movieclip or textfiled or you know what...
    It's the same in As3?
    EDIT:
    I found a solution. Some method an properties of UISB can be used in the cvlass (like, contructor, update, target). Some otherelse not. So the other can be used only when i do an instance of my own class, like properties of the instance. Ex:
    textfield.UISB.x = 100;
    textfield: instance of my class
    UISB: scrollbar declared within my class
    x= properties defined only instancing my class

    You need to read the basics about Swing events.
    For starters, you do not implement listeners in your Applet class. Instead, you add new listeners to specific components that you want to listen on. For example, if you need to perform certain actions when a JComboBox's selection changes, you would do something like:
    my_combo.addActionListener(  new ActionListener() {
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
            System.out.println("selection changed to: " + my_combo.getSelectedItem());
    });And for buttons:
    my_button.addActionListener( new ActionListener() {
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
            System.out.println("You clicked " + ((JButton) e.getSource()).getText() " button);
    }MoustListener and other listeners can be similarily added. See JDK Documentation or Tutorials
