  • External Microphone in Windows on MBP

    Hi guys,
I see this problem has been posted on the form a couple of years back but don't seem can find a solution. I'm just wondering if this has been sorted now.
I have a MBP 2011 mid model. It recognise the iphone microphone when it is under OS. However, when it is in Win 7, it seems only picking up sound by the internal microphone. It was fine using the internal microphone until the machine get heated and the cooling fan gets too noisy and the microphone picks up all the noise since it is located just above the fan.
I had to use windows as the particular software I'm using doesn't have a mac version. I tried to use virtual windows under OS but it gets so slow I could hardly do anything under it.
The most up-to-date boot camp drivers are correctly installed for Win 7.
Any one have this sorted? If I can get my MBP pick up an external microphone in Windows (doesn't matter which version)?
    With many thanks

I visited the Louisville, KY Apple store today and discussed this question with Lonnie, a lead creative there.  He says he is familiar with Fusion and that what Doc wants to do is no problem.  Naturally, it shouldn't be, but ... like Doc A, after 30 years+ working with PCs, things are often not what they should be.
Doc - did you try this, and did it work?
Has anyone else out there tried this with a Retina MBP with at least 8gb of RAM and Fusion running at least 2 different VMs, each pinned to a different external monitor (with OSX on the Retina in the middle)?
If you did, was it with straight Thunderbolt monitors, or did you use older monitors and adapters?
BONUS POINTS: Was one of your VMs some version of Linux, by any chance?
Do you have ML OSX or some older version?
Did it work out of the box, or with issues that you had to get help on?
    Your answers are much appreciated!

  • External Microphone in Windows 7 64bit

I have a MacBook Pro 15 MD104 with Mountain Lion. I'm also install Windows7 64bit Enterprise using Boot Camp. I'm download latest Sound Card driver with Boot Camp and install it (and all other devices driwer). Macbook has a one audio socket to combined 3.5 jack (input and output in one jack). I  buy Razer Kraken Pro Headset specially for it, because it have this combined jack.
My problem is that in Windows, when i plug my headset in windows, it works only as headphones, microphone don't recognize and uses internal microphone of MacBook. In MacOS there is no problem and all works great. I think, that problem is in Boot Camp sound card driver. I try to download another, but i can't google it. Sound Card model is Cirrus Logic CS4206B (AB 83). There is no driver on cirrus site. What can I do with it?

I am not sure who else reads this but I got my mike working with Skype. I uninstalled the Cirrus driver (something AR77) and installed from the Apple OSX CD Bootcamp drivers the one with Cirrus for XP. Then I got the Cirrus High End device (not the other version) and voila.
Note, I started installing the Realtek on it first, also on CD, which helped my bro. But then this was the best approach.
I think: a) it is a driver issue for the built-in microphone b) Win 7 is like Vista, really, looks the same, feels the same, does not work the same (but I need it to get a Windows project done and evaluate). c) if Apple made a contract with the business application (the biggest) I work with I would no longer need Windows on it. Not for office, not for applications. Apple? Would you start aSAP negitiations?

  • H7000 Bluetooth headset - No audio from microphone in Windows 8

Recently I bought a new HP H7000 Bluetooth headset. After I successfully paired it with my laptop (HP EliteBook 8470p, running Windows 8 and the Broadcom Bluetooth driver downloaded from Broadcom's site), I can hear audio from the headphones, but the microphone part doesn't seem to be functioning, it doesn't pick up a signal no matter how loud I speak.
When trying the same headset on the same laptop running Windows 7 SP1, the microphone is working perfectly.
In Windows 8, the Headset Microphone is Enabled in the Sound settings' Recording devices, and is set as Default Device. The Internal Microphone Array device (the laptop's built-in mic) is picking up audio no problem, so that part of Windows 8 is functioning properly. So there seems to be no issue with any of the settings, I went them through several times.
It's just the H7000 headset's mic under Windows 8, that is having the problem.
Anyone met this scenario, or even have a fix?

I managed to narrow it down to the Broadcom Bluetooth chipset driver in Windows 8.
Finally I ended up disabling it, and buying a USB Bluetooth micro-dongle with an Atheros chipset. With this, the headset works fine.
It is still ridiculous, to solve such a problem with additional investment, but this is not HP's fault it turned out.
I'll try to contact Broadcom's customer service, and keep an eye open for any Win8 driver updates on their support website.

  • Microphone Problem Windows 7 64bit

Hi My new system has a X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Professional installed, and sound seems to be okay. However, microphone does NOT work. Plugged in a different mic, same issue so it's the card OR drivers, or a config. Have tried to set all the options to 'line in', and still NO MIC. I'm sure there's someone in here that can help. Cheers.

where do i get that console for windows 7? when i run the update thing, i don't get it in the list of tools to install and here (?http://support.creative.com/downloads/welcome.aspx?nDriverType=3#type_3 ), it says only windows vista?
i don't really want to install all the tools and taking my chances, since i have no use for any of them except that console to set that flexijack to microphone... why the hell you can't do that in w7 any more like it could be done in xp is beyond me...

  • Microphone in Windows 7 RC

I have a problem where the microphone either does not work at all or is very, very low and does not work with things like Skype. Does anyone else have this issue? I'm using a new 13" MacBook Pro that uses the Cirrus audio part.

  • Satellite P300 (PSPCCA-03W01Y) - No microphone after Windows 7 update

    Hi,
After updating my P300 to Windows 7 (32-bit) my in-built microphone has not worked. I understand that the microphone is part of the camera, but I cannot find the driver for Windows 7 32-bit to update it with. The camera is working fine.
There have been similar threads that direct you to download the driver, but after looking at the Toshiba Australia and the toshiba-europe sites, I have not been able to find it.
Does anyone know where I can find this driver?
    Thanks.

    Hi stelth_turtle,
You can try the Vista 32bit driver from Toshiba Australian page. Usually this driver also work on Windows 7 because Vista and Windows 7 are very similar so it would be worth a try and install the Vista 32bit driver.
If it doesnt work have a look for Satellite P500 drivers. On Australian page I saw a Windows 7 32bit driver for this model and I assume it should also work on your P300.
    Check this!!!

  • No microphone in Windows Vista 32-

It simply doesn't work. I pluged it into where is glowing red.Card is extreme gamer.
I am sad that I paid 90 euros for a nothing.

I don't know about the glowing red thing.
However, if you right click the volume control in the taskbar -> recording devices, what's it list for the microphone? Working? Currently Unavailable? Is it set to default?
What's interesting for me is, I have my Microphone listed as Currently Unavailable but it works without issue.
One of the things I have to do every time is to set up the mic through Vista.
Right click volume control -> Recording Devices -> Select Microphone and set to default -> Click Configure -> Click Set Up Microphone
After doing that, ignore the warning that Windows Vista didn't "hear" you clearly and open up the Recording Devices again and select Properties for your Microphone to adjust the volume.

  • IdeaPad Y650: Cannot use Camera and Microphone on Windows 7

    Hi,
When I bought this laptop, these two works fine in windows vista. But after I reinstall the machine with windows 7, the internal camera and microphone are no longer recognized by the system. I tried to install the drivers from lenovo website, but there is only windows vista / xp driver. I tried windows vista driver for camera and microphone but still not work.
How should I make my camera+microphone work on windows 7?
    thanks

My camera and mic work fine.  When I installed Win7 I did not do a clean install.  I just upgraded from the Vista 64 installation that came preinstalled.  I've been pleasantly suprised to find that everything works beautifully.  Actually better than it did in Vista.  Maybe try restoring your Vista installation (if possible, I haven't tried the onekey restore feature) and then install Win7 as an upgrade.
This is just a suggestion - I have not tested this!
