Dvb Card: Artec T1 USB1.1 TVBOX with AN2235 after Kernel upgrade

Many years I used this card with many different kernel versions. And now after upgrade to 2.6.31 it won't tune in.
She downloads the firmware correctly, which also worked many years without a change. dmesg messages are:

for me it looks good.
I also have all the

Hi cjpembo,
my Card looks like:
01:07.0 Multimedia video controller [0400]: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [14f1:8800] (rev 05)
01:07.1 Multimedia controller [0480]: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder [Audio Port] [14f1:8811] (rev 05)
My card seems to be another version. Regarding to the v4l Wiki: http://linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index.php/Tu … ted_Tuners
A new Hauppauge WinTV PCI-FM card is here (pci_ids: 14f1:8800, 14f1:8811), using the TCL MFPE05-02 PAL (DK BG I) FM tuner. It just implements mk3 API, you can use philips 1216me mk3 (tuner=38) instead.
If I don't specify any module parameters, the tuner type 0 is selected.

The card is not listed in my local PCI ID repository. And it seems, that the PCI ID is not known to the PCI ID Repository: http://pci-ids.ucw.cz/iii/?i=0070

  • Notes has stoped sync with icloud after I upgraded to 7.0.2?

Notes (on my iPhone and iPad) has stoped sync with icloud after I upgraded to 7.0.2. All others items like Contacts, Calendars, etc. are able to sync. any solutions.

Now iTunes won't open. It doesn't give me any error messages it just won't open the window.
some preliminary questions aimed at narrowing in on possible culprits.
    (1) do you have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on the PC?
    (2) try launching your QuickTime. does it:
    (a) launch perfectly fine?
    (b) fail to launch with an error message? (if so, what does it say?)
    (c) exhibit other peculiar behavior? (if so, could you describe it for us?)
    (3) reboot the PC. bring up your Task Manager, and click on the "Processes" tab. now try to launch itunes again.
does an "itunes.exe" process appear in the Processes tab? if so, does it persist in there or does it disappear after a few seconds?

  • Problems with TV - Card after Kernel Upgrade

    Hi Folks,
since the last Kernel Upgrade I've got problems with my tv tuner card. Since ever I had to set the tuner manually to 38. But now it seems that its not enough just to set this type.
I used this script to set up my card correctly:
    modprobe -r cx88-dvb cx88-blackbird cx8802 cx88-alsa cx8800 cx88xx
    modprobe cx88xx tuner=38
    modprobe cx8800
Now I've got weired sound and only a few stations, with a very poor picture quality. After reloading the modules with the script dmesg says:
    tda9887 2-0043: destroying instance
    tuner-simple 2-0061: destroying instance

    cx88[0]/0: registered device vbi0
From my (limited) point of view the problem is, that tuner-simple does not loads the correct tuner type? I've looked into modinfo from tuner-simple but there is no parameter for type... What else could be the problem?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi cjpembo,
    my Card looks like:

  • Problem with Java after System Upgrade to 10.5.7

    Hi,
I am facing problem with Java after having run Software upgrades.
Here is the whole story. I recently moved to iMac 10.5.6 from PowerPc 10.4. On this new machine I was having problem running a 3rd party application, which requires JVM. As this application worked well on Tiger, I decided to upgrade JVM on my iMAC using Software Upgrade(was I insane!!). As I like my systems to be updated (as with linux on my personal machine) I clicked "install all". As a result I have the following upgrades run on my machine:
    2009-05-20 13:12:01 +0200: Installed "Mac OS X Update Combined" (10.5.7)
    2009-05-20 13:12:10 +0200: Installed "Remote Desktop Client Update" (3.2.2)
    2009-05-20 13:12:26 +0200: Installed "Java For Mac OS X 10.5 Update 2" (1.0)
    2009-05-20 13:58:36 +0200: Installed "Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 3" (1.0)
    2009-05-20 13:58:44 +0200: Installed "AirPort Utility Software Update 2009-001" (5.4.1)
    2009-05-20 13:59:07 +0200: Installed "QuickTime" (7.6)
    2009-05-20 13:59:22 +0200: Installed "iPhoto Update" (7.1.5)
    2009-05-20 13:59:28 +0200: Installed "iLife Support" (9.0.2)
    2009-05-20 13:59:38 +0200: Installed "iDVD Update" (7.0.3)
    2009-05-20 13:59:58 +0200: Installed "iTunes" (8.1.1)
But now, simply running $ java on the prompt hangs, i.e. it takes no action.
    $ which java
    /usr/bin/java
    $ ls -ltr /usr/bin/java
    May 20 15:09 /usr/bin/java -> /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/Current/Commands/java
    $java (no response)
Here is the output of $ top
PID COMMAND %CPU TIME #TH #PRTS #MREGS RPRVT RSHRD RSIZE VSIZE
    703 java 98.8% 0:38.54 3 110 72 480K 184K 1964K 40M
    Any clues?
    cheers

    Hi man,
In the wake of this java problem I resorted to keep working on my old machine, and today in my spare time I tried to fix this new machine.
So I execute $java on prompt, and then try to check the files it has opened, using lsof -p pid
    I see it referring to
    /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5.0/Home/bin/java
    isn't this usually the JAVA_HOME
    However, executing $/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5.0/Home/bin/java
    hangs!!
    but
    $/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/bin/java
    works!!
    $ pwd
    /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6/Home/bin
    $ ./java -version
    java version "1.6.0_07"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_07-b06-153)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.6.0_07-b06-57, mixed mode)
So, I changed the links as follows

Linking my Current and CurrentJDK to 1.6 and it works!
However, shall that be the reason!
    what is in your /Versions/Current/
    I got the following
    $ ls /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/Current
    CodeResources Frameworks JavaVM
    Commands Headers Resources
There is no /Home in here, which is usually the case for /1.5 or /1.6
Anyways, things seems to work for the moment. Lets see if I get problem with using Java.
    thanks

After i upgraded to leopard iv been having trouble with some games (like bf 2142), they wont open, as soon as i click on the game it quits right away, anyone having this problem too? or anyone have any solutions??

    Good morning Mogens Pedersen
    Thanks for using our forum
I am a Cisco network support engineer, I have a recommendation, before you  upgrade any device in the future. Always keep in mind to make a backup of your data, in this way if you have to reset the device to factory settings you will not lose that information. Having said that, reset the router to the fabric configuration using the back little button, remember when you do that, you are going to loose your current configuration.
Also here I leave a link for you to download the firmware rescue utility for your router:

After Yosemite upgrade, when I turn on my MBP, I can't sign in using external monitor with MBP, always could before Yosemite.  Blurred image of my wallpaper shows on monitor, can move arrow on external screen but sign-in only shows up on my computer screen, with no arrow.  Since there is no arrow on the computer screen, and no sign in box on the external monitor, I have to unplug the external video to sign in on the computer, then plug in the monitor again.  Any ideas?

    NOWEK,
Thanks for this suggestion, but so far no joy. I have zapped the PRAM, jammed the Frabitz and smashed the Gafrogsnicker, all to no avail. When the MBP restarts I get a blurred image (extreme "vibrancy") on the external monitor, but no images of the login accounts to choose from or the other options. However, on the MBP screen I get all that. The keyboard and mouse respond, but just doesn't display on the external monitor. This is of interest to me because I have the MBP down in a credenza with other related gear and the external monitor and keyboard up on my desk. It's true I don't have to do this often, but still, it just started this aggravation with Yosemite. Thanks for trying to help.

  • Problems with Broadcom wireless card after Kernel Upgrade

After upgrading to version 2.6.39 of the linux kernel, I am having trouble with my Broadcom BCM4312 wireless card. The broadcom-wl driver no longer seems to work, even after reinstalling it from the AUR. The b43 driver seems to be able to connect to unencrypted networks, but can no longer connect to my family's WPA Personal encrypted router. Is anybody else having a similar problem?

As I understand it my laptop has been fine and it uses broadcom-wl, and I just re-yaourt it each time my kernel version changes using a cable in my router. But I believe there is something called dkms and a version of the driver for it, which (I haven't read fully into it) is something like a separate tree, which can (from what little I've read) eliminate this need to recompile every time, however I literally read this 5 minutes ago, from the AUR page for broadcom-wl and a quick google so I wouldn't be surprised if there is more to it than that.

  • IPhone Sync Problems with VISTA After iTunes Upgrade to 7.4

Upon upgrading to iTunes 7.4 I was unable to sync my Outlook calendar or contacts to the iPhone. Called Apple Support that they seemed to know nothing about this problem general problem despite all of the discussions on this and many other tech. boards.
After being told remove and reinstall iTunes and Outlook, set-up a new user account, etc... (none of which worked) I finally concluded that perhaps the .pst file being used by outlook was simply incompatible with iTunes for some reason (e.g. unsupported recurring calendar items).
SOLUTION: Create a new outlook .pst data file. Once created, open up that new file along with the defective .pst file. Then, simply change the view of calendars and contacts in your old calendar such that you can see all of the items in a list. Highlight the items you want to keep and simply click-and-drag them to the nes .pst file. This solves all of the sync. problems I had post-7.4 upgrade. It takes less than 3 minutes to complete this painless fix.
This was so annoying for me that I'd be happy to help someone complete this simple task if they need help. < Edited by Host, for your protection, no personal information please. >

Then it would appear to be an issue with your router. What router? Model? Is the firmware up to date?

  • Display issue with Macbook after SL upgrade

    Hi,
I have a 2007 13" MacBook which I use to drive an external video projector via a mini-DVI to HDMI adapter (external video monitor set to 1080p@24Hz). It manages 1080p, just barely, with some hiccups on complex material. But the signal itself is a nice, clean (and pretty) 1080p.
I thought that upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard, with a clean (formatted) install, would somehow get rid of some junk background processes and make the machine run a bit smoother.
However, since installing SL, performance in 1080p is even worse than it was — the video has a deal-breaking "strobe" effect (i.e. the video updates only every 2nd or 3rd frame).
Mirroring the display instead of using a secondary monitor plays smoothly, but then of course I don't get 1080p.
What could possibly be the cause of this? Is SL a downgrade in terms of performance with 2007 machines? Can anything be done with the graphics subsystem to make it run better?
    Thanks for your help.

I would take this to an Apple store for a definitive diagnosis.  This will be free.  Bring the screen shot with you.
Then you will know exactly what you are dealing with and be able to determine what will be involved in rectifying the problem and the associated costs.
    Ciao.

  • Issue with SUIM after EHP5 Upgrade

    Dear All,
We have recently upgraded our SAP System to EHP5, everything seems to be normal though.
    1. When we do a search in SUIM under "Roles by Complex Selection Criteria" --> Transaction Code --> KSB9 and hit Execute we are popped up with about 1000+ Roles, however none of the roles list are assigned with this transaction.
    2. When we do a similar search in SUIM under "Roles by Complex Selection Criteria" --> Authorization Object S_TCODE and set the value to KSB9 this work and provides with with a list of roles which has access to the Transaction code KSB9.
We tested the same in other system which is not yet upgraded to EHP5, we see that the system gives the correct list of roles by doing in the above mentioned two ways.
I have search in the market place to find a bug fix however no solution found.
    Please advice for a fix.
    Regards

    Hi Sumanth,
Refer and implement the applicable SAP Notes, which are published to resolve issues with SUIM report inconsistencies:
Note 1575598 - SUIM RSUSR070 incorr. results when searching for transaction
Note 1527861 - SUIM: Incorrect results when searching for auth. objects
Note 1393940 - SUIM| Incorrect results when searching for profile and roles

  • Issue with bootadm after mobo upgrade

    Hi,
the motherboard of one of our servers died and I decided to take this opportunity to upgrade the server. With the new mobo though, the order of the disks is different. I managed to get the system to boot by recreating the device tree, but I am still having some issues with bootadm.
When I run bootadm list-menu, I get error messages saying that it can't find the menu.lst, which is normal as it looks like it is still searching for the menu.lst at the old location, i.e. /dev/dsk/c0d0s0, when the new location is /dev/dsk/c2d0s0. The weird thing though is that if I run bootadm list-archive, I get no error messages. Any idea what I can do to fix this? I have tried to run bootadm update-archive -f -R, as well as installgrub -m /boot/grub/stage1 /boot/grub/stage2 /dev/rdsk/c2d0s0, but nothing seems to fix it.
    I am running Solaris 5.11 snv_60.
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Bertrand.

  • Outlook not syncing with iCal after Lion Upgrade

I updated to Lion, so I could more easily sync our family's calendars and contacts in Outlook to our iPhones/iPods via iCloud.  Now that I have done that, Outlook no longer syncs to iCal/Address Book and then there is the internal Microsoft issue.  How do I get the syncing working since iSync isn't part of Lion?

    Greetings,
You may have issues with Outlook and might want to remove and reinstall it (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2398768).
    Before going down that road:
    Backup your computer Addressbook: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AddressBook/4.0/en/ad961.html
    Backup your computer iCal: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2966
Backup your entire computer (its a good idea): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427
    Quit all open applications
Follow all the steps in this Microsoft article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2452489
If syncing is still not working:
    Quit all open applications
    Follow http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
If syncing is still not working:
    SafeBoot the computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455
While in SafeBoot remove the following to the trash:
Macintosh HD > Library > Caches (All the contents of the folder not the folder itself)
Home > Library > Application Support > Sync Services (The entire folder)NOTE: To get to "Home > Library" in Lion: Click anywhere on the desktop and then click on the "Go" menu at the top of the computer screen while holding down the "option" key on the keyboard.  You will see "Library" in the menu.
    Restart the computer and test.
    Hope that helps!
