DVCPRO 50 in 16:9 for 4:3 finish

Hello,
Can't figure this out from other posts so I hope ya'll can help.
First of all is 720x405 full res when shot in 16x9 on a SDX900? Second, I want to finish will all the pixels I can so I don't want to pan and scan. I want to just show it letterboxed so the framing is correct. So I need to know how to get that file into a 4:3 sequence. Finally, I also would like to put it in a sequence by itself and this can be 16:9. When I try this now I have to do hours of rendering for a 2 minute clip.
Any thoughts?

Actually, Anamorphic standard-definition footage - what you're calling 16:9 - is also captured, and logged in FCP, as 720x480 [in NTSC land] just like plain old 4:3 footage. What settings are you using?
If your clip settings are correct - 720x480, Anamorphic box checked - then placing such a clip into a standard DVCPro NTSC 4:3 sequence will, automatically, produce the letterboxing that you're looking for.
As for a 16:9 sequence that doesn't require a render, do the following:
Create a new sequence (Command-N)
Open the Sequence Settings dialog (Command-0 [That's zero])
Click the 'Load Sequence Preset' at the bottom and select DVCPro50 NTSC Anamorphic.
Provided your clips are properly setup, you should be able to drop them in without the need to render.
For what its worth, I would recommend editing your clips into the 16:9 sequence first, then nesting that 16:9 sequence into your 4:3 sequence.

    Dear Experts,
    This is the first time I open a discussion. I'm new at this. I've been reading for a couple of months your forums and certainly you've helped me a lot. Thanks for that. Keep it up! ^_^
    Now on business. Let me explain a bit about what I'm looking for.
    I've been looking for a report that shows me the material consumption of the month in quantities. Raw Material and Packaging Material to be more specific. Also I need to see the consumption of those materials by each specific Finished Good.
    For example, I know the consumption of Flour of all the month, but we use it for all our Finished Goods or SKU's as we call them, since we make cookies. How can I know how much Flour each Finished Good actually used?
    I've been trying with different T-Codes, reports, etc. The last thing I've got is using transaction MB51 and filtering movements type from 261 to 262. The beauty of this report is that shows me the Process Order number, since I can match the PO number to a Finished Good with another report from BI (or BEX, however you call it).
    Everything was fine until I found that there are some PO's that are not directly related to a Finished Good, but to a Semi Finished Good. In some cases I'm able to match the Finished Good, since the majority of Semi Finished Goods are uniques to a Finished Good. But there are three specific cases that are my problem right now:
    Cream X: We use it for three Finished Goods.
    X Syrup: We use it for all the Finished Goods.
    Refined X Sugar: We use it for three Finished Goods.
    So those three are Semi Finished Goods which are related to certain numbers of PO's I have on the report.
    In the end, with the report from MB51 I have all the list of materials (filtering only Raw and Packaging), I have the consumption of the month (filtering movements 261 and 262) and I have the PO number related to each material. Of course one material is listed many times on the report, but with different PO number.
    Then, like I said, I can match the PO number to a Finished Good, except in the cases where the PO is not matched to a Finished Good, but to a Semi Finished Good like the three examples I gave you.
    I don't know if there's another way to track the Finished Good having the PO number. I've tried T-Code COR3, but couldn't get too far.
    I hope I explained myself a bit clear and also sorry if my English is not so good.

  • How to code a parallel 'for loop' and 'while loop' where the while loop cannot terminate until the for loop has finished?? (queues also present)

    I've attached a sample VI that I just cannot figure out how to get working the way that I want.  I've labeled the some sections with black-on-yellow text boxes for clarity during the description that follows in the next few sentences.  Here's what I want:
    1) overall -- i'm intend for this to be a subVI that will do data acquisition and write the data to a file.  I want it to use a producer/consumer approach.  The producer construct is the 'parallel for loop' that runs an exact number of times depending on user input (which will come from the mainVI that is not included).  For now I've wired a 1-D array w/ 2 elements as a test case.  During the producer loop, the data is acquired and put into a queue to be delt with in the consumer loop (for now, i just add a random number to the queue).
    2) the consumer construct is the 'parallel while loop'.  It will dequeue elements and write them to a file.  I want this to keep running continuously and parallel until two conditions are met.
          i. the for loop has finished execution
          ii. the queue is empty.
       when the conditions are met, the while loop will exit, close the queue, and the subVI will finish. (and return stuff to mainVI that i can deal with on my own)
    Here's the problems.
    1)  in the "parallel for loop" I have a flat sequence structure.. I haven't had time to incorporate some data dependency into these two sequential sections, but basically, I just care that the "inner while loop" condition is met before the data is collected and queued.  I think I can do this on my own, but if you have suggestions, I'm interested.
    2)  I can easily get the outer for and while loops to run sequentially, but I want them to run in parallel.  My reasoning for this is that that I anticipate the two tasks taking very different amounts of time. .. basically, I want the while loop to just keep polling the queue to get everything out of it (or I suppose I could somehow use notifiers - suggestions welcome)...  the thing is, this loop will probably run faster than the for loop, so just checking to see that the queue is empty will not work... I need to meet the additional condition that nothing else will be placed in the queue - and this condition is met when the for loop is complete. basically, I just can't figure out how to do this.
    3) for now, I've placed a simple stop button in the 'parallel while loop', but I must be missing something fundamental here, because the stop button is totally unresponsive.  i.e. - when I press it, it stays depressed, and nothing happens.
    suggestions are totally welcome!

    As I've thought about it a bit more, there's a few things that surprise me... first, the reason the 'dequeue element while loop' errors is not because there's nothing in the queue, it's becaues the queue has been released and it's trying to access that released queue...   However the problem I have is this --- Even though there's no timeout wired to the dequeue element, I still would think that the while loop that contains it would continue to run at whatever pace it wanted -- and as i said before.. most of the time, it would find that there is nothing to dequeue, but once in a while, something is there.  however, it seems that this loop only runs when something has been enqueued.  the reason I say this is illustrated in the next code sample MODv2 that's attached below.  I've added a stop button to the "queue size while loop" so the program runs until that is pressed.  I've also added a simple conditional in the "dequeue while loop"  that generates a random number if it a button is pressed... but this button is totally non-responsive... which means to me that the "dequeue while loop" isn't actually continuously running, but only when an element is added to the queue.  this still seems almost like the 'dequeue while loop" waits for a notifier from the queue telling it to run.  can you explain this to me? because it is different from what I expect to be happening.

  • When I am downloading songs it takes hours for it to finish?

    I am having trouble downloading things from the itunes store. My internet connection is fine, I can surf the web top speed, do what I need to do, but the things that I buy from itunes store it takes hours for it to finish. Even when I try to download my podcasts it doesn't goes though, it gives me an error 404 or the network timed out. It happened after I have updated my itunes. Any suggestions?

    What codec is your source material?
    What are your sequence settings?
    What kind of files are making up your layers?  Video (What codec?)  Photos (RGB or CMYK?)  Motion Graphics?

  • Creating a production order for a semi finished product

    I am having a multi level bom scenario over here.
    one of the bom components of the header material is a semi finished product.
    I am using the planing stratagy 40 for that material.
    in standard sap when i create a production order for  header material. the requirement gets transerd to all the components. if the components are not available then only  a requirement is placed. when i run MRP that requirement gets converted in to a planned order. which converts in to a purchase req or a production order,
    well for my semi finished product. its a Work in process item. there wont be any stock for that item in the storage location any time.
    what my requirement is. when i create a production order for my finished product it should automatically create a production order for the semi finished product.
    is this possible with some configuration settings.

    for ur requirement u need to maintain MRP type PD for FERT material and also for ur HALB.
    If u run  MRP  only, it will create planned order for FERT and for all its dependent requirement(for PD).
    If u create order manually for FERT material then it will not create order for HALB material, u need to create manualy for this also.

  • 10g: Cube  build performance:Waiting for tasks to finish

    I had a question related to cube build performance. We see the following in the OLAPSYS.XML_LOAD_LOG prior to completion of parallel processing. So basically the loading of records etc. happens in 2-3 mins but then the part for "running jobs and started 6 finished 5 out of 6 tasks takes almost 30-40 minutes to complete". At this point in background it invokes the xmlloader and xml_parallel_loader. Any insights as to what specifically this steps do (solving of measures etc.) ? Also what we need to modify in terms of xml tag or anything else to improve these timings?

    When we checked the scheduler jobs we saw xmlparallel_loader. in terms of v$session_wait we saw a db file sequential read. Following is a snapshot from the stage of finished updating partitions to starting of parallel load. Please advise.

  • NI Scope Wait for Acquisition to Finish Obselete in 2014

    Quick Question,
    In LabVIEW 2014, the NI scope Wait for Acquisition to Finish subVI is no longer used and is obsolete apparently, can some one tell me why this is and what I can use instead with the new 2014 NI scope blocks?

    Query Acquisition Status until Status is "Complete"  To avoid infiate loops (missing trigger event) you should set a Timeout for the loop
    Alternately use hardwae and rout the End of Acquisition event to something

  • Update of jlabel does not happen when i wait for thread to finish (join())

    gurus please help.
    I have a main application which in actionevent calls a thread, that thread calls parent method to update ths status in jlabel, but when i use thread.join() to wait for process to complete, the jlabel does not get updated, please tell me how can i update the jlabel, i have to wait for thread to finish and during run i need to update the jlabel.

  • SMARTFORM: PROBLEM WITH PRINTING SAME HEADER IN PAGES FOR A NON-FINISH LIST

    Hi, guys!
    I hope you can help me as well as many other times.
    I have a Smartform which contains a header,body and a footer in a page.
    This is a form for a report, which we have a column header and the positions. the problem is that if a current account haven't finish in that list (see the example)

    Guys.
    Remember that the columns header won't be printed only if the lines per account continues. I mean, the column header printing depends on the number of lines that are being printed.
    If at the end of a previous page the list (for example the positions that belong to this account) still continues for an account, then in the next page the column header musn't be printed, just only continue printing the rest of the positions. As you notice this case would be found in any number of pages during the rest of the report.
    I'm agree with all your solutions but this only functionin some cases for the first page.
    I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Sai,
          You can try using MB51, use filter movement type 261. Add a filter for the posting date coverage.
    Then proceed. Click on the icon DETAIL LIST.
    Then click on the SUBTOTAL, add MATERIAL as a Criteria. The click the column AMOUNT IN LC.
    You should see the total issuances to per material.

    We have a similar scenario where a finished product is dismantled to several lower level sub-assemblies. After dismantling, the components are grouped and delivered. The dismantling is not in the order in which it was originally manufactured. The dismantled group has no material code in the system. Therefore, a new BOM is created.
    How to carryout the valuation for this new BOM component.
    The price control setting is V or Moving avg price in the material master.
    After GR is done for the FG production order, the system posts the components into stock. The system posts the material + conversion cost into inventory.
    When u dismantle u can only bring the material price back into stock. How to apportion the conversion cost also in this case.
    Kindly suggest, if you have handled similar scenario.

  • Second tween does not wait for first to finish

    Having a little problem here and as far as I can tell it is
    just that the second tween starts before waiting for the first to
    finish. Basically on a click event it should slide out a scroll
    pane to the bottom of the screen, change the contentpath of the
    scroll pane, then slide it back up.
    with the code below it just slides up the new movie clip but
    does not slide out the old one, if i remove the code for the new
    clip to slide up the old one does do the slide out how I want it to
    look.
    how can I make a pause in between the two to wait.

  • Make jFrame wait for jDialog to finish

    I am making a project in Netbeans i have a main Frame and some Dialog windows that open up if you press some buttons.
    when one window opens i want the main Frame script to pause and wait for it to complete.
    i have tried 3 different ways:

    You don't have to do anything to do that
    questionDialog.setVisible(true), this method will block the thread, it would't keep going until the questionDialog is unvisible, this is the mistake of the way 1 and way 3.
    and the way 2: the while block will be execute before the questionDialog.setVisible(true) is execute, so questionDialog.isVisible() will return false

  • Hp34970a read vi doesnot wait for scan to finish

    hi all.... i am facing problem ..im tryin to read DC current values from two channels.. i modified the advanced scan vi example..
    the read
    vi is not waiting for the scan to finish.... i used trigger vi outside
    a for loop and i want the readings to be taken for a number of times
    which is equal to the trigger count.... i even placed a time delay
    between the standard event vi and the read vi....the standard event
    register vi has been set for operation complete bit. Yet the read vi is
    not waiting.
    so can anyone let me knw if the delay helps in waiting the read vi to finish the scan??
    will the read vi give out the readings for each scan or will it just display random values??

    posting the vi here... i kept the scan count to be 15 and scan-scan
    interval as 1sec. ( so it implies that im using a timer source for
    triggering) I used a time delay of 0.9secs in between standard event
    register vi and the read vi. 
    i used a for loop insted of
    a while loop coz i need the number of readings = scan count. i placed
    the trigger vi outside the for loop.
    can anyone have a look over this vi and help me out?

    Now I placed a while loop around the standard event register vi and i am running it till i get a true in the bits set output. this time i checked the parameter'operation complete bit' instead of setting it. Only then i can see true value on the bit set output or else false.
    The bit 1 is true after some time (after scanning is done), but the instrument is showing -410 error. This error actually says ' a command was received which sends data to the output buffer, but the ouput buffer contained data from previous command(previous data is not overwritten).The output buffer is cleared when power has been off or after a bus Device Clear.'
    What should i do? Can you tell whether what i did is right? I atached the vi which has while loop around the standard event register vi.
