DVD Burner keeps encoding and won't burn my file.

Trying to burn a home made video onto a DVD and when I attempt to do it, it won't go any farther than encoding the video. I have left it on for 2+ hours letting it encode and it won't get any higher than 60%. I'm using Windows Movie Maker software and Windows DVD burning software. There is no way it should be taking this long. I am using a Toshiba Satellite L355-S7902. Do I just need to change my DVD burning software or what? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think so. I bought new disks yesterday to be sure and the result is the same. Also, when in the drives, none of the disks (old or new) make any kind of not-normal noise. Everything seems normal, except neither computer can burn. Weird!

Well, I hadn't rebooted after the 7.1.1 upgrade, but obviously I had to restart iTunes. After I rebooted my iBook iTunes worked... Maybe the 7.1.1 update should be marked with a must reboot?

Go to Control Panel, Programs & Features. Select HP Support Assistant and uninstall it. Restart your machine after removing it.
Next download the latest version for your machine from the link.

Drag the folders to the external drive, and if prompted, click Authenticate. You'll probably be asked for an administrator password.

HT4623 I bought the Cinema application and it keeps streaming and won't open?

I had bought the Cinema Application but it won't work. As soon as I select a movie it keeps streaming and won't stop. I tried clicking the Report error link on the confirmation email for the purchase of the application but I get an error message that says can't connect to ITunes.

     Use free AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here
     http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php
     Install , open, and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button   to remove adware.
     Once done, quit AdwareMedic by clicking AdwareMedic in the menu bar and selecting
    “Quit AdwareMedic”.

Sorry to hear you are having this issue today.
Does this happen on all files or a specific file?
If this is happening on a specific file, it is most likely that file.
If this is happening on all files, I would check to see if this is happening in other users accounts as well. If you dont have other users, create one and see if preview works inside that new user account.

Gnome native dvd burner - show file sizes before a burn on dirs?

Is there a way to get a gnome-native dvd burning app to show the filesizes of user added folders before a burn? In other words:
Blank DVD
-Folder 1 (3.2 Gb)
-Folder 2 (0.4 Gb)
I have tried in both gnomebaker and brasero but can't do it. The only app that does is k3b and it requires tons of kde libs to run.

Hi, you can upload screenshots hear, limited to 2 NB I think, by using the little Camera icon in a reply.
Apple thinks we don't need to no anything & things should just work, of course they often don't & the lack of, or difficulty of finding useful info is no help... & it's getting worse.
Some things are easier on Macs, some on Windows.
I suspect you're copying from some iPhoto or fancier App's folder, which may contain icons & such of the real thing.

DVD Burning. avi. file

I have an avi. file. Can this be burnt straight to a DVD (using Disk Utility) to be played on my home DVD player or does it have to be converted to another file before burning please?

AVI is a video codec and you cannot use disk utility to put this onto a DVD disk as a stand alone playable movie, however there are a few things you can do. Some unbranded and branded DVD players now play loads of different format video files such as AVI and Divx does yours do this, you may have to only drag the avi file to a DVD disk and just copy it. I use leopard and i just drag the AVI file to iDvd and this works ok for me, you have a dual opp system so OSX will do this for you.

try a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for your phone to boot back up. See if that helps.
