Dvd image error

am trying to create an image and then burn a dvd i made on the MAC from a minidv tape. When i try to verify the image i get a message" unable to verify & 'has no checksum info to verify" & when a blank DVD is put in to burn, an error message: unable to burn. device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or retry.i dont understand the problem. I have viewed previous postings.

Not sure if I can help, but, does this DVD play like a normal DVD on the Powerbook (using DVD Player)?
I'm theorizing that unless this disc is finalized like a normal DVD, it may not copy.

  • Mounting dvd image

    hi,
I have this dvd image I'd like to loop mount. Unfortunately all I get is this error:
    [root] $ mount -t iso9660 -o loop DISC1.ISO files/
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0,
or too many mounted file systems
(could this be the IDE device where you in fact use
ide-scsi so that sr0 or sda or so is needed?)
    [root] $
To me it seems the command is correct. how to fix this?

  • DVD Burning Error

I'm trying to burn a backup copy of all my DVD's...I'm also running into problems.
I downloaded Mac the Ripper and it works great so far, I've ripped 2 full quality DVD's to my mac, now I'm running into problems burning them.
I don't have software, so i just put the Video_TS and Audio_TS files in a burn folder(for one of the movies, i know 2 wont fit on a dvd)...so everything's going fine and it actually burns about half onto the disc(wasting about $7)
I get this message: "This disc did not verify correctly and is unreliable. Because this is disc is unreliable, discard it and try about using a new, blank disc. Error code 0x80020063)"
I'm using a Fujifilm dual layer dvd+r at 2x...and yes my mac can burn dual layer...
I have no idea how to fix this and google didnt help much...one forum said something about deleting a .plist file to fix the problem in use preferences...but there are tons and i dont know which to delete
any help would be appreciated(because ive already wasted soo much money on dvd's trying!)
    thanks, travis : )

It should, but can't. A data disk is only for backing-up stuff to store.
'dvd player' can play 'video_ts' cause it just reads the all the raw files and understands it, A DVD player needs the laser to read the disk, and cant read plain old data.
The video_ts has to be written as DVD-ROM (UDF) format for a DVD player to get it.
'DVD Imager' is free at 'versiontracker.com' and creates a DVD image, which you then burn with 'Disk Utility' already on ur mac.
'Toast 7' can burn, compress, single/dual layer and all that jazz...

  • Adobe Standard 9.5.2 after update I get "Insufficient data for an image" error

After updating to Acrobat Standard and Readre 9.5.2, some (but not all) of my pdf files are now opening with the error "Insufficient data for an image." The files open, but they are fuzzy, pixelated and are missing the bates stamp I applied earlier (using a utility from LexisNexis Casemap). I can open the files fine on another computer with Acrobat Standard 9.5.1.
How can I uninstall the 9.5.2, or get it to work again?

Windows 7 64-bit with Samsung SSD on an i5 Lenovo laptop. Yes, I have both Acrobat Standard and Reader 9.5.2 on the machine. Both give the same error when opening the attached file.

Hi osieko,Can you share across any such sample pdf file? Also, what OS are you working upon? You have both Acrobat Standard 9.5.2 and Reader 9.5.2 installed on your machine. Right? One option that you can try is to repair your Acrobat/Reader from Programs in Control Panel and see if that resolves the issue.Otherwise kindly attach a screenshot of the error you are receiving along with any sample pdf file.

Anybody know what's going on here? Am I missing something?

  • DVD Player error -69902?

I've successfully played DVDs on my iMac (24" 2.4 GHz Aluminum) -- Front Row works like a charm! However, I've recently encountered a DVD that has issues with my computer:
A couple of weeks ago I received the Beatles' "Help!" two-DVD set in timely fashion after ordering it through Amazon.ca. Unfortunately, although the second disc works perfectly on my computer (a 2007 Apple iMac 24" 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo with 2 GB of RAM), the first disc will not play past the FBI warning and the opening page (where Play, Subtitles, Settings, Chapters is located). Whether I use either Front Row or DVD player, the result is the same: when I insert the disc into my computer, I am presented with the error message "Skipping Over Damaged Area". If, in DVD Player, I click on "Title" in order to change chapters, an error message pops up informing me "DVD Player encountered a system error. Error -69902". And in DVD Player, I am informed that this disc contains only one chapter. In any case, when I'm on the Help! opening page & I click on "Play" (in either DVD player or Front Row), nothing happens. No movie. The music keeps looping on the opening page, but not much more than that.
Out of curiosity, I tried playing this same disc on a standalone Toshiba DVD player hooked up to my home TV, and amazingly, the disc plays fine!
After emailing Amazon, I was instructed to return the DVD for a replacement, which arrived in the mail today. Imagine my surprise when the replacement displayed the same error messages! Before I return this disc for a refund, maybe someone can fill me in: what is DVD Player error -69902?

  • Reader XI still gives "insufficient data for image" error

Our fax machine creates .pdf files of the faxes and recently our back office has had trouble printing them. When I look at them they give an "insufficient data for image" error, but only on one page each. I've tried upgrading to reader XI but the problem persists. I've gotten around it by taking a screenshot and printing the one page that doesn't work so far, but I'd like to get this fixed. It only started happening today. I have a call in to our fax provider, but I was wondering if anyone here had any possible solutions.
    Thanks,
Also due to the nature of the documents I'm unable to provide a sample.

It is also happening to me (running v 11.0.2).  I tried adjusting the various settings under the "View" menu and at best could only see part of what was missing.  I resolved the issue by downloading and installing Foxit Reader.  Bingo! now I can see the entire document.

  • "Insufficient data for an image" error

    Licensee: Accenture
    Adobe Reader 10.0.1
    OS: Windows 7 Enterprise  x64
Sub Product: ABCpdf .NET Version 6.1.1.5
    Hello,
We are using ABC pdf to generate pdf reports in our website and then a mail sending routine executes and mail those reports to our clients. Some times when user recieves the mails then he is not able to see the reports properly using adobe reader X  and it shows "Insufficient data for an image" error. These reports are multiple page reports. Although reports saved at our end are genreted properly and we are able to open them proeperly. So is there any work around for this?
Please let me know in case of any query.

I checked out the link, that is the exact error I get when I open the file.  I tried the suggested Work Arounds.  Changing the zoom does not make the problem go away.  Optimizing the file and then saving it, and then opening the newly saved file does not fix it either.  Thanks for your time. , though.
This file opens fine in earlier versions of Acrobat, no problem.

  • "insufficient data for an image" error using Firefox 3/Reader 9

I find some PDF files won't open in Firefox (3.0.3), giving the error "insufficient data for an image". usually the first page displays (partly garbled), then when I try to page down, I get this error. The PDF files are fine -- if I "Save as" they open without problems and they open in IE6.
The problem is not consistent: the same file will open at one attempt and not at the next (and vice versa).
    Anyone come across this problem?
    Thanks, Jim

The same error occurs in Google Chrome and even in the actual reader itself when trying to open certain PDFs. Adobe is almost impossible to contact directly and there are few clues as to how to resolve this issue on their website.
Not only were there "insufficient data for an image" errors, other errors also displayed, sometimes resulting in freezing the browser and forcing a Ctrl, Alt, Del / end program procedure.
An uninstall and reinstall of Adobe 9 did not resolve the issue. After discussion with another user who did not have Adobe 9 installed, and was still using Adobe 8, it was clear that the issues surround Adobe 9. This was uninstalled and replaced with Adobe 8 and so far all documents that did not previously open now open without a problem.
While one cannot with certainty verify whether this solution works with Firefox, it is clear that Adobe 9 has a number of issues. Backward compatibility may be one of them. Documents constructed to display on older readers obviously create problems for Adobe 9. An interesting point is that even with Adobe 9 installed, by uploading the direct link to the PDF in question to Google Docs, the document displays without a problem within Google Docs itself, though a download of the same reproduces the same errors as outlines above.
So in summary, try uninstalling Adobe 9 and install Adobe 8. NB: it is advisable to close all browsers before initiating the new install to enable browser integration.
    Good luck.

  • How do I get past "can't find valid dvd player" error?

This is regarding a G4 powermac running Tiger 10.4.3
My Sony dual layer DRX-720UL/T seems to work fine with DVD-ROM content. My kids use it for DVD-ROM games and I had no problem installing Tiger. Problem comes in when I open "DVD player" and get a "Can't find valid dvd player," error. They're connected via Firewire 400, and I've tried the USB link, just to see, but the same error comes up. I'm fairly certain that I viewed a DVD before upgrading to Tiger. The Sony is supposed to be fully mac compatiable, and even comes with Toast light 6. Again all seems to be well except for the fact that DVD player won't allow me to view a NTSC DVD. No matter how many I try.

What drive was in this G4 prior?
If you did not have a DVD drive, you need to use Pacifist to extract & install DVD Player.app; downloading or drag&drop won't work.
Also, Sony drives are probably the worst when it comes to compatability; one specific model may work fine, and others not. This should be less of an issue in Tiger, but only if the problem is other than the optical drive firmware, about which you can do nothing (on a Mac), unlike Pioneer & NEC drives that have mac-based flashers available.
If DVD Player was installed previously, based on having a DVD drive prior to Tiger install, you may want to try running the 10.4.3 Combo updater over your existing install.
