  • DVD-R stuck in my 2010 Mac Mini

Today I got an unformatted DVD-R disk stuck in my 2010 Mac Mini and nothing I do will eject the disk. I'm using OS X Mavericks 10.9.4. I tried F12, command - E without results.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes there is a little pin-hole on the front of the drive. If it has one, straighten a paperclip and push it into the hole. You'll feel a little resistance, but it should pop the disk out manually. However, there doesn't appear to be that hole on the pictures I've found.
Other than that, I have no idea.

  • DVD is stuck in my I mac G%

Hi all...I put an empty DVD to burn video on I dvd but the dvd did not appear in I mac and would not eject no matter what ever I try. I do restart the I mac and i hear the super drive struggling. How can i get it out? Thank you...

Is this a regular, full size, DVD, Cem.
One trick that works with stuck DVD's in slot load drives is to hold the computer with the drive pointing downwards (ie with the iMac sideways) and to then try to eject. Hold it carefully and don't shake it around while doing this, though. probably best done as a two person operation wit something as heavy as an imac.

Hi Claire, sounds dire, but some things to try...
Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...

In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.

  • DVD STILL STUCK

I have tried holdinh down the track pad button and pressing on the case above the drvie but still no luck. Does anyone have a way to get a stuck dvd out of the drive?

Use a thin piece of hard plastic (thinner than a credit card) or the tip of a blunt knife. Slip just the corner/tip on top of the DVD itself, apply a light downward pressure and hit the Eject button.

    Hello:
This is not an area I have much experience in......I rarely insert DVDs and I have never had a similar problem.
When the DVD is in the drive (and DVD players is open) click on File>get disk info.

For the downloaded OSX Lion form the Mac App Store you can use this http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/39701/lion-diskmaker to make yourself a disk.

  • How do I stream the dvd's I insert into my mac on my apple tv?

How do I stream the dvd's I insert into my mac on my apple tv?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If your Mac meets the specifications for airplay mirroring, then you can play your DVDs but you will have to use a program such as VLC.
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).

  • DVD-R stuck in machine!

DVD-R stuck in the machine. I can power-down and start-up again to eject it but am hoping someone has a more immediate (and better) solution. Loved the days when I could use a paper clip to physically cause the disk to eject. But... progress... Thanks.

    #1 - The Eject key
#2 - Launch Disk Utility (Finder>Go>Utilities), select the ‘stuck disc’ in the volume list on the left & then either click the "Eject Button, Press Command+E or choose File>Eject Disk.
#3 - Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the Terminal prompt enter or paste the following command:
    #4 - drutil eject
    Press RETURN.

  • Is QT DVD Player different on Windows and MAC?

I have both Mac and PC computers. QT 7.1.3 is installed on both. I can view both commercial (Hollywood) and non-commercial mp2 content on the Mac but not the PC. Can anyone tell me what the difference is and why?

Is QT DVD Player different on Windows and MAC?
There is no such thing as a QT DVD Player. On the Mac there is a QT Player which does not play DVDs and there is a DVD Player which does. You are probably trying to compare the DVD Player on the Mac with the QT Player on the PC here.

You can't share/play a music CD using Remote Disk. It's a limitation that Apple built in.
"MacBook Air and Mac mini do not support playing DVD movies or audio CD media with Remote Disc."
Remote Disk is limited to data transfers.
You will have to use the MBA external superdrive, or another compatible external DVD device hooked directly to the Macbook Air.
Otherwise, you will need to rip the CD's contents using your PC and transfer the music as data files.

I used iDVD to create an IMG file
You created the video DVD, the IMG file, with iDVD and just burned it with Disk Utility. As Klaus1 pointed out Disk Utility can't create video DVDs.

  • DVD disc stuck in drive

Operating system not installing. The dvd is stuck in the drive. What method to use to eject the dvd from the drive? Have tried holding down the mouse, this has been ok in the past but, not on this occasion!
    Any takers?
    Kind regards,

Here's an excerpt from an Apple article that might help:
The drive doesn't eject discs or discs eject slowly
If the drive ejects discs slowly or appears to be struggling, insert and eject a single disc several times.
If the drive does not eject discs using the F12 or eject key on the keyboard.
If the disc will not eject try dragging the disc icon to the trash.
If the disc will still not eject, holding down the trackpad or mouse button after restarting the computer should also eject a disc.
If the disc continues not to eject, reset the Power Manager (PMU) or System Management Controller (SMC) and try steps 1-4 again.
If the disc still does not eject, for additional troubleshooting, evaluation, or service please contact Apple, contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or make an appointment with an Apple Retail Store.

  • Headphone jack got stuck in my apple mac pro

the headphone jack got stuck in my apple mac pro.. and they are saying i need to change the mother board .. is that true?

I had the tip break off a headphone plug inside my son's MacBook audio jack. Then it would not play any sounds.
The professionals at the genius Bar can only propose solutions that they know will be VERY likely to work in fairly short order.  I am under no such constraints. The hopelessness of the situation makes it a little more difficult, but not impossible.
Since it was already broken, I had nothing to lose, and went after the broken piece with a very fine dental pick.
After many aggravating minutes of fiddling, I gave up and did something else for a while. I came back to it later and got the broken piece out and everything worked again. YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY.
