DVD movie help please

I hope someone can spare some time to help me resolve a problem I have.
My wife has made a file in imove consisting of pictures, video and music. We then burned a DVD in toast 7 ( DVD video setting). It plays fine on PC but wont in front row ( the first page is there but it wont play any further). Has anyone any idea what we have done wrong.

Why don't try burning the movie using iDVD. Just go to iMovie menu and choose share -> iDVD. Burn it right from iDVD and try. I am not sure about Toast.

Burning a movie help please

Hi everyone I have an Imac and am trying to burn a dvd that is an .avi file. so when I go into IDVD I drag the file to the drop zone that it shows me and then when I hit burn dvd it tells me that my project is too large to fit on the DVD. These are movies that my friend had and they are only 700mb and about 1hr and 40min which is well under the 2hr limit that the DVD's have. Am I doing something wrong or is that a more simple way of doing this? Thanks I appreciate your help.

So I downloaded that program from sourceforge however it tells me that it must reencode the avi files to put them on a dvd and then I have to do it two different times to get the correct version. After all that it starts to burn the DVD and then part way through it tells me that it can not burn it because all of a sudden the file is not the correct one for a DVD. Please help me

DVD Crahses Help Please Urgent

Hi, I have a 1 hour 45 min video with several chapter points, when I skip through the chapter points on my mac it works fine. I burnt my project on a Dual DVD and played it in my DVD Player, it crashes at one particular chapter point. I tried 3 more DVD players some play it fine, some crash, does anybody have an idea what this could be? I thought if it was a bad burn it would not play on any DVD players so that cant be it. Please help.

Did you specify a layer break point, or let DVDSP automatically select one? I found that by using auto selection it was less likely to work. Try to insert a marker and specify it as a layer break marker somewhere near the midway mark of your timeline. Also be sure to set it somewhere so that Layer 1 will be larger than Layer 2.
The other thing I noticed is that Toast didn't handle my BUILD folder properly. I think it disregarded the break point I set up and chose its own, which didn't work. If you were using Toast to burn the disc that could be an issue. I used DVDSP's Build & format and it worked out A-OK.

Can't Load garageband 3 from DVD? HELP PLEASE

I bought the ilife'06 DVD and no matter how many times i've tried, it won't install GarageBand 3. I tried to 'customize' install and it didn't work. Everything else updated (i.e. imove6, iphoto6 etc). Can anyone help me?
I have an ibook G4-OS version 10.4.7. (No dvd burner though).

SD Sales BOM and Stock Movement--Help please

Scenario:
Client is dealing with Value packs. i.e. He creates a finish good by using 2 finish goods as components by creating Sales BOM.
Basic Requirement: To have component level treatment i.e. pricing delivery to be incorporated for components.
Item cat grp selected as LUMF for BOM parent Item in material master.
But the requirement is that stock movements should reflect for both parent as well as BOM materials upon PGI. Header stock is required to check the stock availibity.
By this approach no movements can be seen for parent which will give a wrong picture of the stock positions for Parent Material.
How this can be handled whereby we can see the stock movements for both Parent as well as components.

Scripting external movies to buttons in main movie, help please?

I'm building an entirely flash based website using Flash CS3 and ActionScript 2. I'm using external movies for the various pages, and putting buttons that control these movies in the main movie file. Normally, I'd simply put the script to control the buttons on the main movie file, not the external ones, but because there's more than two different pages and I'm fading each external clip in and out, I'm wondering if possible to put the script, for the buttons on the main movie, on the external movies.
I hope I've explained it right, any help appreciated.

ok, i removed the trace from the main timeline and put that trace on the external portfolio movie, here's the output results.
when testing the main movie i i got: _level0
and when testing the external movie i got: undefined
so, by the looks of the results it is tracing back to main movie from the external one, it's just not got a target in main movie. is that right? we've already made sure all the movie clips and buttons involved are referenced and instance names are correct, so how can it be undefined?

ive tried several ipod converter programmes, but none have been any good, they just wont work.

For Windows users.. no such product exists in my opinion.
If you want free software... it is rarely fast and reliable.
If you want something fast and reliable, which should be more important to you than being free, then you may want to consider investing in software that actually works.
PQ DVD seems to be popular for Windows users, as well as ImTOO.

Adobe Elements 12 not recognizing DVD drive, Help please!!

In my Adobe Elements 12 for some reason when I go to burn, it saying no burners detected. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how can it be fixed. Thank you so much in advance.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated from 12 to 12.1 using an opened project's Help Menu/Update? Please do so.
Assuming a Windows compute for now.
Is this "no burner found" situation described as "it never worked before" or "it worked before but not now"?
If it has worked before, then I would ask
1. Do you have iTunes on your computer? Have you recently updated it?
If so, you might consider uninstalling both Premiere Elements 12 and iTunes, and then reinstalling only Premiere Elements 12. I would go through the scenario
1. Uninstall Premiere Elements 12 and iTunes via Control Panel
2. Do a ccleaner run through (regular and registry parts)

3. Reinstall of Premiere Elements 12 only.

Ok, first of I know the "get info" way of switching movies to music videos but I have 170 music videos it's really a hassle doing one by one, so I'm asking if there's any way to batch switch the the videos to music videos.

Yes. Assuming you are using a mac there is an app called "Parsley is atomically delicious" which can batch edit meta data on video files including the music video thing

Hi, Hold down the Windows key and press R Into the Run box type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. In the Device Manager window, expand DVD/CD-ROM Drives, right click the drive and select Properties - on the General tab, is there an error code showing in the Device status box? DVD -R not accepted in slot load- HELP PLEASE

I am trying to burn an iMovie onto a DVD. I put a Memorex DVD -R into the slot load drive and it powers up and then spits it back out. I am able to burn CDs but have not yet tried to play a real DVD movie. PLEASE help. Is this a hardware problem or am I putting in the wrong type of DVD to burn? Thanks.

As long as your PB is equipped with a Superdrive and not with a Combodrive DVD -R media are th correct choice.
You might want to check:
Your Drive's capabilities through System Profiler.
If burned/pressed DVDs are also refused.
Try another brand like Apple or Verbatim.

Please Help My MBP is not playing DVD Movies

Hi since I updated from tiger to leopard my DVD player has a mind of its own.
When I insert a DVD movie it tries for 3 times and ejects the DVD out. If I try repeatedly then after 5 - 10 attempts it plays the Movies, but thats not the case always.
Any suggestions. Any advice is appreciated thanks

I recently had a similar problem. I upgraded all of my software on osx. i tried burning a dvd, and it crapped out half way through. since then any dvd I put into it would try and read a couple times, and then eject. CD-R's worked fine. I had to take it to the apple store, and exchange it, which was kind of a pain (i had to back up using time machine, and restore using time machine.... but at least I got to test out the time machine feature. i like it. im inclined to start regularly backing up) i got home, restored my macbook, upgraded, tried burning a dvd.. it worked so i guess you got a defective drive like me. my model was GSN-10S or something like that.

My hard drive crashed and is no longer usable. I just installed a new drive however, I am not finding any way to export my recorded CD's from the Ipod touch to the new hard drive. Can anyone help please? I thought by enabling syc with Ipod woudl do it but to no avail.

I used a 3rd party program called copytrans http://www.copytrans.net/ that is not free to move my library from my ipod to my itunes library when I had to start from scratch. After that happened I started backing up my music that purchased from the itunes store to a dvd so I would always have it if things went south. Now I always backup my purchased digital music to an optical disc just in case plus everythng else I have is on retail cd's so I can just rebuild my library from scratch again if I have to. You should also regularly back up your itunes media folder to another disc so your entire library will be backed up just in case you should lose your program drive.

On external monitor: GOOD. after render & dvd: BAAAAD. help, please!

Hi, I edited a 60i NTSC video from a canon XL2, and it looks fine on the external monitor (TV), the FCP preview and everything. It even looks good when I export a QT mov with no compression.
But as soon as I burn it on iDVD and play it on a DVD player, the whole interlacing business goes terribly, terribly wrong.
I've tried all possible exporting settings, but it doesn't work. Should I de-interlace the clips? I've gathered from reading the forums that it might help, but it sounds like a desperate solution, since the text should be interlaced but not the video?
I mean... what did I do wrong? Isn't ot supposed to just work straight-through with the NTSC DV Easy Setup and changing only to "None" on the compressing settings at export?
Any help, please? Anybody?

For exporting, I used the Export>Quicktime movie, just like you said, using the current setting (i.e. Compression:None)
The DVD player was connected to a PAL TV, but it's OK because the DVD player can read anything. I know because I've watched NTSC as well as PAL dvd movies before.
The Canon XL2 the Mac is connected to, via Firewire, is NTSC, connected via RCA to the PAL TV. Which means the signal I'm watching is Black & White... (I know this sounds WEIRD)... but it's O.K. because what I'm really checking as I edit is the interlacing problem that I got when playing the DVD on the dvd player.... : the BAD problem.
How bad? Really bad. Any sudden movement, or panning of objects with vertical lines, like a painting or a building looks all wobbly and curvey and blurry and wrong, which is unnacceptable for the project I'm doing, as it is a professional work (Meaning that I'm charging money for it, despite the crazy assemble of different products and formats I'm using).
I've gotten things that look good before, but never on Final Cut Pro.. I'm new to the program, and to Mac, and this is the first video I'm exporting to a DVD on this platform.
