DVD Movies only show in green

I have an Insignia with built in DVD player. It worked fine (in Color) for the first year or so. Now no matter what I do
every movie only shows in Green. Any suggestions?

sounds like an issue with the internal dvd player. I would try connecting an external to the TV and see if you get the same results. Sounds like an issue between the output of the dvd player to the display (all internal) If it works externally then i would stick with the external solution.

Digital version of movie only shows on one device

So I bought my Mac Book last summer I can't remember if I added the digital version (from the DVD) of a movie that I have on my PC or my Mac. But since LAST year the movie showed on my computer, iPad and Apple TV. Today it "disappeared" from everything but my computer. I also checked to see if the movie would show up on my iPhone. I had that featured turned off, but I went into settings and turned it on to see if it would show up. Nope!!! I even bought a tv show and movie to "test" if they would sync all three devices (Mac, iPad and Apple TV). They did but I can't figure out for the life of me why this movie went away. I still have the DVD and I thought if I deleted the movie from my computer I could re add it.
But when I put in the DVD it just plays. I can't even remember how I added the digital copy and I wasn't given any prompts to do anything.
I called Apple (before I bought the movie and TV show) and they said that they would send an e-mail to a link help me. I'm still waiting on that, but I thought that I would come here to see if anyone could help me.
Hopefully, someone here has experienced this. Cause this is driving me crazy.

DVD player only shows video under Intel graphics

I have a Macbook Pro 15", i7 2.66, and just noticed that Apple's DVD Player app will only show video under Intel graphics. When it's switched to the Nvidia 330M, all I get is a black screen (+ audio).
Oddly, the VLC app works fine, so I'm (sort of) hoping this is a software issue. Anyone else experience this?

Agreed it is a shame. This is the second time to hear of this glitch. I do not know if it constitutes a bug however.
If you want to report it to Apple's engineers, send a bug report via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, join the Mac Developer Program—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report. The nice thing with this procedure is that you get a response and a follow-up number thus starting a dialog with engineering.

Movies only show up under Songs LIst

On my iPod Classic 80GB, movies (purchased and manually added) only show up under the songs list. I cannot change the info (movie, tv show) in iTunes because that is not an option for files in the songs list. I have been able to re-add a couple of the manually added movies and they show up in the right place, but the purchased movies I cannot do this with. This only became a problem today and has not been a problem in the past. They show up under the songs list only and not in the movies even though the info shows them as mp4. Any help is appreciated.

I would say that is a good indication that the movies are not actually synced. Check your sync settings in iTunes and also make sure that there is actually enough disk space available on the ATV for the movies that have yet to sync.

DVD Menu only shows up after the movie?!?!

I'm new to IDVD!
I made a slideshow on Imovie and I hit share it to IDVD, i think pick a menu and hit burn. But when I play the movie in my DVD player, the movie starts right up and then it's not until after the movie is done playing that the DVD Menu comes up.
What am I doing wrong? How do I fix this!?!?

You have inadvertently created what is called an "autoplay" slideshow. That type operates exactly as you described.
You must have dragged you slideshow into the Project icon in Map View. To activate Map View, you click on the left-most of the three icons in the center below the iDVD window. The Project icon is the icon on the top in the Map View. . It states within that icon "Drag content here to automatically play ..."
So, you need to either drag your project from there down to the lower box, or re-do your project by dragging it into the main project area on the theme's main screen. Just do not move it into the Project icon in Map View.

Videos randomly only show blank green screen

I have a Dell computer with Windows 7. I am using my iphone 4s to capture videos and then edit them in Adobe Premiere Elements 12.
What seems to be at random, I insert a video and only the audio works. Instead of seeing my video footage, I see a blank green screen.
I have tried to move that video around and changing applied effects to see if that will somehow restore the video. I have tried Smart Fix but that did nothing as well. I deleted the video from the program and tried to drop the file again but it still showed a blank green screen. I tried restarting the program but that did not change anything. I even tried uploading the video from my phone to my computer all over again but that did not change anything.
If I play the video on my computer through Quick Time Player or Windows Media Player (NOT with the Adobe PE 12 program) it plays fine. I play it on my phone and there are no problems either. The only problem is that randomly there are videos that will show a blank green screen in the program. What can I do to fix this?
I would genuinely appreciate any help offered!

Do you find that these random videos with problems were shot with varying low lighting conditions?
The best I can tell you are probably shooting 1080p30 with your iPhone 4S.
Trying taking this problem video into the free HandBrake program and converting it to 1920 x 1080
at 30 frames per second, making sure that the frame rate setting is for Constant and not variable frame rate.
The codec set should be H.264.

HT4106 Movies only show with file extension or duration in Photo app

This is really a two part question:
1. Is there a way to get the Photo app to show the file name?
2. Is there a way to get the movie files on my SD card to show in the Video app?

I face the same issue. This isn't a solution, hopefully someone can help with an app. The photos app sorts by file date, not alphabetically. So, on a computer, if you sort those files by date and make a list, you could then use that list to have a better chance of importing the right movie when you want to watch it.
I have kind of the same situation as you. A couple of large SD cards with video files on them that I don't have room to keep on the iPad. What I ended up doing was I found a program that allowed me to edit the creation date and time for the file, and once all those were the same, the ipad then defaulted to alphabetical and I could then have a list and count down, find the 5th file, import it and have it be what I wanted.
So not the solution you're looking for, here's hoping someone has one for you, but a different work around if things don't pan out. I also be interested in an app that allowed me to see the file names.

How to download purchased DVD movies?

I'm having difficulty finding a way to upload purchased DVD movies onto my MacBook Pro. My hope is that once I get them on the MacBook that I can put them on the iPad. Is this possible?

Dvd movies/tv show/etc are encrypted to stop you from doing this.

Finished DVD plays (shows) complete green screen instead of movie for part of the movie

In Premiere CS4 the movie I made plays fine. In Encore timeline the movie plays fine. Yet when the DVD is burned and then played, part of the movie just shows up as completely green on the screen and then it will stop and the rest of the movie will play fine for a while and then the screen will go all green again. Any ideas of what I am doing wrong?

Toast can author and burn video DVDs but it's not nearly as versatile as iDVD is in creating video DVDs. Toast can only create one menu so all items must be on it, i.e. no sub-menus, no animated menus, etc.

Movie Art not showing for synced movies, only for streamed ones

Movie art is shown correctly in iTunes and while streaming, but not on the movies synced (these show poster frame). The only 'movies' that show correctly their movie art in iTunes, streaming and synced are TV Shows, which has lead me to think that the size of the .m4v has something to do. I have to do tests to determine the posible size limit, but for now all the TV Shows have a file size less than 2GB. I'll try to do some testing as soon as work allows me to get back to a normal life, (T_T)

Back again with some initial findings:
1. Size of the file does not matters. It shows the poster frame for .m4v files of any size.
2. Taking again into account your post, I checked every detail between the ripped TV shows and the ripped DVD movies and everything was the same except one small detail: audio settings. The ripped TV shows had an original Dolby Surround soundtrack, so I encoded them choosing the 'Dolby Surround' audio mix setting in the encoding program while with the ripped DVD movies that had an original Dolby Digital 5.1 I choose the '6 Channel Discrete' AAC 5.1 audio mix.
Noticing this difference, I tried encoding one of the previous movies that had the movie art issue using the same settings, but changing the audio mix setting from '6 Channel Discrete' AAC 5.1 to 'Dolby Pro Logic II'. Imported it to iTunes, applied the Movie cover art, synced with the Apple TV and there was the movie art in the Appke TV.
I'm gonna try again with different movies, but it seems, preliminarily, that the AAC 5.1 encoding setting does something to how the Apple TV sees the movie art in the file tags even though iTunes sees it alright.
I'll let you know what results come out of my tests.

Why is an mov file showing up as a black screen with only audio?

I am importing a mov file into elements 11 and it is only showing up as a black screen with audio. The clip will play in other programs on my computer but is not importing into elements 11. The file was created on my panisonic camera. I am pretty new to video editting and am quite frusterated. I'm assuming it is some sort of codec issue but don't know how to proceed. Movie not showing, only photos

Hi, When I try to put DVD's that I took from my camra, it did not show in the actuall movie, only photo's will show. I don't know how to resolve the problem.

How to "Back Up to Disc" only music (not movies, TV shows, etc.)

After a recent near failure of one of my external hard drive backups, I've finally made the decision back up all of my music to DVDs. I'm wondering, though, if I choose File/Back Up to Disc, will this only back up my music, or will it try to back up my entire iTunes library, including movies, TV shows, podcasts, etc.?
I only ask because my music library is big enough (about 100 GB) without considering my movie and TV show libraries (800 GB and 200 GB, respectively), and I'm really only concerned about the music (movies and tv shows are redundant on several friends' hard drives, so I don't have to worry about backing them up). Plus, even with 8GB DVD-Rs, that would require a ton of blank discs, not to mention time.

Hi benom,
The iTunes' "Backup to Disc" functionality will back up only music or your entire library, including movies, TV shows, podcasts among other contents.
I think this feature won't be helpful to you, once you only want to backup your music (as much as I understood).

Sharing an Apple ID for movies/tv shows only?

My husband and I are currently both running iPhones (4 for him, 4S for me) and two brand new iPads. We have separate iCloud accounts and apple IDs because we both had older iPhones before we met.
The only thing we really wish to share is movies/tv shows, as we don't really use the same apps and listen to different music mostly (I rarely download music from iTunes to begin with). I have never downloaded any movies, so in that regard I'm starting fresh, but now that we have the iPads I would like to watch our growing movie collection which is all under his apple ID. I don't mind using his apple ID for everything from the app store/iTunes from now on if it makes things easier, but how can I keep the apps I have already downloaded to my iPad? I don't plan to download any movies to my iPhone and no music will go on the iPad, so I don't mind continuing to purchase music from my own apple ID and using that on my iPhone, and using my husbands apple ID for my iPad, but I have already paid for several apps and I'd rather not lose them, nor do I want his app purchases syncing to my iPad. (I do, however, want app purchases to sync from my iPhone to my iPad.) Is there a way for me to get our movies to my iPad with a computer? Really, what is the simplest way for me to watch our movies without having to use the same apple ID? What do you all recommend for us?
Sub question- is there a way to combine ALL previous purchases (music, apps, movies, tv) on our shared desktop and then select manually what syncs to each device?
This whole not being able to sync more than one Apple ID to a device for 90 days is really killing me. That does apply to apps as well, right?

That actually has very little to do with my original question.
For anyone with the same problem I had, I did eventually make the leap and it turned out to be an easy solution for us. Since I had never bought any movies and rarely buy music (which is oodles more transferrable than movies and tv anyhow) I just started using my husband's account for everything. The issue I was worried I would have- not being able to update apps and such- turned out to be moot, since the updater just prompts me for the password to whichever account the app was originally downloaded under. So never fear, if you decide to use one out of two accounts you will still be able to update apps and not worry about that 90-day switch.
This will become an issue someday when we upgrade our stuff, but at that point I'll probably just bite the bullet and re-purchase any apps I hadn't bought under his ID.
