DVD on MSI 5600 VTDR

Hi! When I play a DVD the movie always restart at beginning after about half an hour.I use the software bundled with the card ; Mediacenter II and the WinDVD player. No updates made of drivers/software except from Mediacenter!
Hardware : P4 2.4 800 FSB, Win XP Home, 16 X DVD drive, 512 MB PC 3200 RAM,Seagate 120 MB 8 MB Cache. Now.......what is my problem????
There's no support on MSI's site about this problem, any helping hands?!?

Hi. I'll try with a removal of Mediacenter II but what about the remotecontrol? Will I still be able to use it? What other appl. can I use it with.....? Or is it Mediacenter that is needed for the remotecontrol? - last Q: can anyone please write a simple "step by step" instruction for "girder"-installation with the files needed.?!
Thanks

The Problem is that once video is captured by the MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card,  Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE crashes Windows XP when it renders.
I am using the latest MSI 44.03 drivers and the WDM drivers as shown in Windows XP system properties, hardware, are 2.0.3.0 09/04/2003.
The VGA card is set to CLONE mode and OVERLAY controls to FULL SCREEN DEVICE = SECONDARY DISPLAY, to get video output using thesupplied 9-SSCCR adaptor and
S-VHS cable to an analog VCR.
IF I DISABLE THE OVERLAY CONTROLS, RENDERING COMPLETES, XP DOES NOT REBOOT, BUT I CAN NO LONGER EXPORT TO THE VCR!!!!
I would appreciate any assistance or explanation.

Another issue I have relates to video captured by the MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card showing distortion or tearing in the bottom lines.
I am trying to capture, using an MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card, I am using the latest MSI 44.03 drivers and the WDM drivers as shown in Windows XP system properties, hardware, are 2.0.3.0 09/04/2003.
The capture system is PAL, I have selected PAL-I, my video sources are either an analogue VCR or an analog Camcorder. I use the analog VIDEO IN or the S-VHS IN of the supplied 9-SSCCR adaptor.
The software packages I have used are Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE, Intervideo WinProducer 2.0 or MSI Media Centre II deluxe (including patch).
    Thanks for your support.

  • MSAI FX 5600 VTDR DVI out & LCD monitor problem

I'm having problems with the card if I connect my TFT monitor using the DVI out on the graphic card. The problem usually occurs when resuming from standby mode or durring the initial startup of the system. All over the screen i see moving golden dots . This stops when I change resolution. If i connect the monitor using the VGA out everything is fine. I've tried the monitor on different card (gigabyte Ati Radeon 8500 Dvi out) and everything was OK. I've checked the cables and tried different driver.
Is there any sollution for my problem, and second can this do a damage to my monitor.
    My system:
    AMD Athlon Xp 1800+
    768 Samsung DDR 333
    Gigabyte VRXP
    Msi FX 5600 VTDR 128
    320W power supply
    CTX 730G LCD Monitor

Try with the latest NVIDIA ForceWare drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Uninstall old drivers > Reboot to safe mode > Use Guru3D Driver Sweeper > reboot into normal mode install new drivers > reboot.

  • Temp tab in 52.16 forceware driver for MSI FX5600 VTDR

    Hi all,
I've installed new forceware (52.16) driver from Nvidia, and I cannot find the "Temperature" tab in the driver's control panel. (MSI FX5600 VTDR on K7N2 Delta-L).
This temp. feature is enabled on fx5600 gpu?!?
Also I noticed that the menus are not very clear with this driver.
    Any hints?!?
    Many thanks:)

  • Fx 5600 vtdr 128 mb or gforce 4 ti 4800 vtd

HELLO , I AM FROM BRASIL AND I WANT TO KNOW WICH
VIDEO CARD IS THE BEST FOR GAMES ???
    FX 5600 VTDR 128 MB or GFORCE 4 ti 4800 VTD ??
    Thank you.

Generally the Ti4800, in some cases if your running with AA the FX5600 could be faster.
An FX5600 Ultra or Radeon 9600 Pro would be better if you can afford them, or even better a Radeon 9700 (non pro).

  • Msi Fx 5600 Vtdr 256mb

    anyone know the max mhz for 2d / 3d / memory for msi fx5600 256mb ??
    and also the default ?

Well, I personally do not have any FX5600... so I'm not sure of the core clock speed for the 2d/3d/mem, but if you a good o/c info of the max range of the clocks, you can go and register to Futuremark or AquaMark3 and look under their comparison charts and see how muh any experts can o/c'ed...
For my system... I'm listed 2nd in my specs range in AquaMark3.
All the best in your o/c'ing times...

  • MSI k7N2 Delta ILSR,AMD 2700+ & MSI GFORCE FX 5600 VTDR 128 Overclock

Guys, I have the above mentioned GPU, Mobo & CPU (Box edition with AMD FUN). Can anyone tell me the best way to overclock them at the highest possible mark?

    StormRider,
    Best way to overclock???? Humm......
Start with a big Case, then get a large Brand Name Top of the Line Power Supply. Then get a Ultra High Performance Heatsink and Fan for your CPU, I prefer a Peltier, others prefer Water. Then put a bunch of fans in your case and make sure you have all your wires run so you get great airflow. Then get High Performance RAM for overclocking, I use Mushkin Level II Black. (If you can still find any.)
Last thing that many people forget, have your computer in an air conditioned space.
Then go have at it. Overclock like crazy.

  • Fx 5600 Vtdr 256mb

i just brought the card few days ago
    SHOW BY 3Dmark03
    Description NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600
    Manufacturer NVIDIA
Total Local Video Memory 256 MB
Total Local Texture Memory 256 MB
    Total AGP Memory 126 MB
    Driver File nv4_disp.dll
    Driver Version 4.5.2.3
    Driver Date 7-28-2003
    my previous card = MSI MX440 64MB
Total Local Video Memory 64 MB
Total Local Texture Memory 64 MB
    Total AGP Memory 128 MB
can anyone help or tell me ?
how come my new FX AGP memory not 256MB, even my previous card agp memory also larger than the new FX??

AGP memory is not a function of the card, it's a portion of the RAM which the bios can set  aside for texture buffering.
It can be set in the bios setup and is not dependant on your VGA card, however the driver can override this setting and in fact I have noticed it doesn't tend to go over 128MB regardless of the settings.
You can do some tests for each setting see how much you get, I suspect that for 32,64 and 128MB you will get what you set, for 256MB you will still get 128MB but I might be wrong.

  • 5600 vtdr 128 flickers

    Guys, long time not see...
Got an annoying problem with my vga for a month or so now.
Everytime i load a 3d game (Colin McRae 4, Hitman 3 etc. you name it) or a 3d application (3d mark etc...) the screen flickers and then it goes black. I have checked the AGP on my mobo (MSI K7N2 Delts-ILSR) and it works fine with others vga's(ATI nad nvidia likes). I don't overclock the vga at the moment and not for the past 4 months or so. It's in its defaults 325/550.
    Anyone with a suggestion?

???-)I read the manual and the rest but there's nothing on this particular problem. Guys i'm desparate. The vga has surely paid it's bucks up until now and i don't want to change it, it hasn't even been used for a year! It's full of capabilities (TV-Out, Video-in & Out, TV-Encoder etc.)....
    Please help if you can.
As i said, on any 3d program or game, the card seems to getting extremely hot(the fan works at full speed though) and at first the image on the screen starts flickering and after a while (half a minute or so) the screen goes black. This doesn't happen on 2d applications and games (Windows Desktop, Rise of nations, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City etc.). I don't know what's the problem, that's why i'm asking you...

  • Removing the heatsink/fan from a geforce fx 5600 vtdr

I am trying to remove the heatsink and fan from my gfx card but i dont know how to do it.... i dont want to force it( coz i dont want to break it and have to buy a new one)
i dont know if this a solution is posted anywhere on this forum becoz everytime i try searching i get a server error, so if anybody can point me in the right direction that will be great.

It was in the "Sticky Threads Please look in here before you post" Thread under Miscellaneous items at the top of this VGA forum..

It's really easy, all you have to do is pinch the ends of the pins on the back side, you have to be really careful once the backplate is off because you'll have to pinch them again to get them through the board. ( and there are usually small components nearby )

  • MSI 5600 wavy video and lockups

I have been reading on the boards, but have yet to come across a problem quite like mine.  Let me give a quick rundown:
A few months ago, out of the blue, my older Geforce 1 card started having some problems.  Lockups were frequent, and oddly enough I was getting what I can only describe as "wavy video" and graphics glitches (Pretty much it looks like the horzontal hold goes crazy while jumbling the picture up and adding white and black lines).  At first, I only got these problems when running 3d games, but a few days later the Windows XP professional and CheckDisk screen started getting the same problems.  Strangely, the windows desktop was fine, so if I just let it sit through the wavyness at the spash screen, the desktop would come up with no problem... At least till I tried to run a game of some sort.
I tried a different monitor and found the same problems.  Then I tried another video card, a friends GeforceMX.  This card ran perfectly.  So I figured, okay, time to get a new card.  I ordered the MSI 5600fx card and was very happy with it.  It ran perfectly for about 3 weeks, when suddenly, it locked up on me.  No big deal, I thought and rebooted.
Boy was I wrong.  The wavyness is back in a big way, along with lockups, and somtimes on the first couple of reboots, no video at all.  ;(
I plan to try some of the tips I found here on the board (APCI, IRQs, AGP down to 4x, ect..) but I was just wondering if anyone else had any guesses, had heard of this before, or could point me in the right direction.
I am at work now (Still waiting for my DSL at home), so I am not positive on all my PC stats, but I do know it is a Epox Motherboard, a 8K3A, I belive, and I do have a 400 watt power supply, though I am not sure of the brand name.
Thanks to anyone who tries to give me a hand!

Isn't there a sticker on the PSU ? SOmetimes you need to unscrew the 4 screws holding it to the case and look at the other 2 sides that are blocked.
You can also consider heat, try runninc the computer with the case open and a fan directed at it.
Are there any large speakers or voltage adapters around the monitor ?

  • 5700 - Where is the Serial Number to Install InterVIDEO Win DVD for MSI ?

    Hello every one,
Do any one here knows where is the Serial Number for InterVIDEO WinDVD for MSI products ?
I want to install it, but I cannot locate the key.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Edwin

    Deathstalker,
Many thanks for your help. I found the Serial Number for my Intervideo WinDVD on the CD as you said.
I know it was silly from me, but I confused the MSI CD Part Number "G71-bla bla" with the serial number.
Maybe in the future, for me and all MSI users out there, a yellow label with the program serial number stamped on it can help to reduce silly questions like mine.
    Thanks again, and take care.

  • Msi F5600 VTDR 128 Dual monitor?or not.

I've been comparing this card and the ASUS FX9560 Video suite as i want to set up extra monitors.
Asus left no doubt that there card supports 2 monitors and Nview.
On MSI's site i have not been able to confirm this, maybe i have missed it(it does say card comes with a DVI/VGA adapter though)
Just looking through some posts here it would appear that it does, can anyone confirm this.
The MSI card would appear to offer more accessories and be a good card but would have to hold off until software glitches are sorted out by MSI.
Was directed to come here by auto response to this question from MSI so they obiously don't monitor this forum.
One last question,i wish to set up 4 displays eventually,(share trading workstation)will Nview manage these and using a Matrox G450 PCI for the extra 2 screens?

    leslloyd,
    How about this:
A picture is worth a thousand words.
    Take Care,

P.S. Dual Monitor Support is in the model nomenclature.

Oh -- By the way, that picture is over the size limit defined in the forum rules in tems of pixels, but the file size is okay.  I'll let it slide.  Watch the bumping as well.
If you want to post the switches tab, upload it to someplace like http://img3.imageshack.us/, copy the thumbnail (which has the link to the original)  back here, and you are golden.
I had a bear of a time getting the microphone working on my HP DV4, but it does work.  I'll look at the set up when I get home tonight [USA-PDT].
Sorry for the picture and the "bumping"... I have asked in irc in arch and alsa channels and no luck yet... one guy from alsa said I had to wait for the alsa-driver-1.0.24 package (currently I have alsa-driver-1.0.23) but it is weird because the microphone worked some months ago...
So here is what it is under the switches tab
