The AUDIO button can only be found on the remote control. Unfortunately, the original remote control model RMT-D126A is no longer available at our Parts Center. However, you can get it from any third-party online stores like Ebay, Amazon, etc. or from one of the Sony Authorized Part distributors listed below:

  • How do I record music from Itunes to a dvd to play on a Sony DVD player dvp sr500h?

How do I record music from Itunes to a dvd, that shows it is finishing but will not play on my hardrive or on a Sony DVD player, dvp sr500H?

If you are burning a DVD directly from iTunes (a feature which is present in older versions of iTunes but which was removed in iTunes 10.4), that creates a computer-type DVD for backup only and cannot play in any DVD player I know of. If you want to create a disk that can play in a DVD player, you'll need to burn an audio CD, an MP3 CD if the player will accept MP3 CDs, or use some other software.

  • My dvd player dvp-ns55p not playing some discs that it used to

I have a dvd player model # DVP-NS55P. I recently bought Rio2. It played several times and then started taking forever to load the disc to the point where I now get the message: "cannot load disc". The dvd is not scratched and is in perfec condition. In fact it plays in my laptop. I am however able to play other discs in the player without any issues. Please help!!!

    Three things you can try:
    1. Clean the superdrive with a proprietory CD/DVD lens cleaner that uses tiny brushes.
    2. Perform an SMC reset:
Resetting the SMC (System Management Controller) on Intel-based Macs:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1237?viewlocale=en_US

If you are using a Wireless Keyboard:

    3. Try the free DVD player VLC:

which performs better than the built-in DVD Player.

  • Faulty battery back NP-FX110 for portable DVD Player DVP-FX930

My daughters portable dvd player has a separate battery pack. She went to try and plug it in and realized that the battery pack case had exploded popping it open as one of the cells had blown up like a bag of microwave popcorn. Not only is this a serious saftey hazard, it has rendered the unit useless. Have found numerous reports of similar issues in a websearch. Am wondering if Sony can offer an solutions - a new battery pack would solve our issue but even the part doesn't appear to be available any longer which is disappointing as this was not an inexpensive unit and it is less than 4 years old with very light usage. I would have expected it to last much longer.

Thank you for your reply and I appreciate the timeliness but conversely I followed your directions to the "T" and have not received a response is almost a week.  I find this not only aggravating but unacceptable.  Below is the email that I sent to your people.  Maybe you can help or expedite this process.
    Thank you,
My children's portable DVD player (model # DVP-FX930) (Serial # 09AG S01-6220746-D) purchased on 7/19/2009 at a price of $179.00 before tax has a separate battery pack (model # NP-FX110).  My daughter went to use the unit and realized that the battery pack case had exploded popping it open as one of the cells had blown up like a bag of microwave popcorn. I have attached pictures of evidence.  Not only is this a serious safety hazard, it has rendered the unit useless. Upon investigation through web searches, I have found numerous reports of similar issues. I have been purchasing Sony devices all my life and have never had an issue with any of the products in the past. I understand that the limited lifetime warranty expires on parts after 1 year but in this situation, we as the consumer have taken very good care of this product and the battery obviously became defective.  With what I have explained and the seriousness of potential injury from this defect, I believe that this may fall under a recall or different circumstance outside of a limited warranty.  I would like to know what solutions Sony can offer at this time?
Thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Anyone else finding fault with the sony DVP-FX980 portable dvd player related to the plastic latch ?

    DVP-FX980
design flaw: latch mechanism falls out renders unit unuseable. this is my second experience with this problem. warranty of 90 days isn't enough to cover. I am sure others have had this same experience since I've seen it twice now.

I'm sorry to know you have this issue on your portable DVD player. We always post known issues of Sony products on our Esupport website and this is not one of them.

  • We have an "old school" DVD player (Sony dvp-nc80v) that plays music throughout our home.  Is there a connector that we can purchase to hook-up our iPhone or MacBook Air to also play music until we buy some new equipment?

We have an "old school" DVD player (Sony dvp-nc80v) that plays music throughout our home via connection to multiple embedded speakers.  Is there a connector/piece of hardware that we can purchase to hook-up our iPhone or MacBook Air to also play music until we buy some new equipment?

A crude but effective way would ,assuming the Sony has an AUX in ,
    is a stereo bluetooth receiver
plugs into aux and recives music over B/T from
the iPhone etc ,as used by many in vehicle
    For instance as an example

  • My DVP-FX980 (portable DVD player) will rarely load a DVD

This happened gradually but for months now it has rarely loaded anything. It tries then says it cannot load the disc. For months it loaded some but not others so I thought the discs were at fault since many of them were from the library. But as the problem increased I tried the discs on my laptop and they always worked fine. I expected better from a Sony product. Does anyone have a remedy?
    thanks

You may follow this link if the DVD player cannot read or play the inserted disc.

  • Which speakers will work on my DVD player?

    Hello
Recently I bought DVD Player Philips DVP 500 and now I want also to buy 5.1 speakers.
DVD player has 1x Digital Audio Coaxial output,so Im thinking of buying
    Inspire GD580.
    Is my choice correct one?
Since I have nevered bought hardware online,I have another question about Warranty.
If the product needs repair, can I bring the product to my local Repair Service?
    Greetings from Slovenia
    Daniel

    Daniel,
Those speakers should be matched with that DVD player, you can connect it directly to the RCA (coaxial SPDIF) output.
With regards to warranty, it would be best to speak to Customer Support to see if they can advise you, normally repairs in warranty go through Customer Support and our RMA (returns) center.

  • Unable to Connect T7900 To DVD Player

i had bought philips DVP 550 DVD Player which supports 7.1 channel system and i had also bought a Creative T7900. But i m not able to connect the T7900's Stereophonic Pins to the DVD Player, as there are 8 Audio RCA pins to the DVD Player as (Front left&Right, Surround left& right, centre, subwoofer, rear left&right), i m having a problem to connect the streophonic to the RCA pins so please give me a suggestion about this. Manish

You just need to follow Jason-CL's thread for 5.1 and use an extra 3.5mm jack to rca lead for the rear surround.

  • DVPFX980 DVD Player MP4 Bitrates

I'm thinking about getting one, but was wondering what the limit for bitrates is. I do know that it supports mp4 simple profile from reading the manual, but what about other specs like the bitrate, fps, etc. I'm thinking that keeping it under 1 mb/s might work, but what do I know?
I use ffmpeg, so I need that information.
Also, does the DVPFX980 stretch the video to fill the screen, or is it displayed in a "letterbox" type of thing?
    Any help would be thanks,
    Pablo

Bit rate can describe the quality of an audio or video file. The DVP-FX980 portable DVD player does not support FFmpeg format.
Depending on how the movie was formatted, you may adjust the picture size (page 15 of the manual).

  • Turning G3 AIO into a DVD player

I recently acquired a G3 AIO and wondered about the possibility of turning it into a DVD player/jukebox for the living room. The idea is to salvage the unit and use it for something other than sitting in the basement. Pop in a big hard drive and a DVP player and there you go. However, my research seems to indicate that the stock video cards in the AIO will not handle DVD decoding. I have seen reference to some hack that allows you to install a new video card and hook it up to the internal monitor, however I haven't been able to find any details on how exactly to do it? Does anyone know anything about this?

another thing , if you can find a original ATI Radeon 32mb Mac Edition pci card get that over the slower ATI Radeon 7000 32mb Mac edition pci. and another thing you can do that will really help out the system if it dont already have a CPU upgrade on it is to buy a G3 450mhz cpu from a B&W i got mine about 6 months ago for $47 with shipping from ebay. i didn't know about the original ATI Radeon Mac Edition till i bought the Radeon 7000. but i can still play dvd's at full speed. the original radeon will be even better at it. another thing is to put memory in it if not its going to be crash ahollic, something like a 256mb ram upgrade would be enough if it don't have allot already. the spacs of my AIO are in my sig below.
the 256mb sticksare weird in these beige G3's if you get the wrong ones it will only see 128mb of the 256mb on the stick or just not work at all, the 256mb stick i bought is from this page
    http://www.datamem.com/memoryselect_frame.asp_Q_C_E_1321-G3BW450
other than that the Beige G3 will play dvd's with a Radeon Mac Edition PCI, or Radeon 7000 Mac Edition PCI with that patch on that site. with or without the cpu upgrade and memory but it will be painfully slow some times with out the cpu upgrade

  • Is there a way to create a slideshow viewable with a DVD player?

Hi there, is there amongst the Apple programs (or else) something that would allow me to show my digital photos on TV with a DVD player? Manually commanded with the remote, or with auto time lapse, fading or transitions?

I tested both Photo Magico and iDVD. Both produce a nice slideshow with good image quality when previewed on the computer. PhotoMagico has some really professional grade blending and zooming effects, and allows placement of multiple sound tracks, which is not possible with iDVD where you just drop one file and it plays in buckle.
The problem with both is that when the slide show is encoded, it looses too much quality! Images loose their detail, their colour depth, and they flicker inacceptably. The worst is with PhotoMagico who sends the already compressed file to iDVD to be compressed again and burnt. The loss of quality from the very neat preview to the resulting DVD is enormous. Sent to Toast Titanium, it's a little better but aliasing effects are still very annoying.
I then tried a slideshow made directly in iDVD. The quality is merely acceptable, still not professional. The images are so compressed that they loose their details, and the edges of the frames and every straight line in the images flicker...
Compressing an original 5 Gb slideshow made of JPEG files to 1,5 Gb seems an enormous rate of compression. Is this the way it is with those programs, or have I missed some settings somewhere? Is there no way to preserve the initial image size when passed to DVD? Alternatively, would the pro version DVD Studio Pro have more flexibillity? It's there on my computer, but the interface is turning me away! ...
    Thanks again for any hints!
    Paul

  • DVD player 5.4 keeps crashing using a variety of DVDs.  I have OS 10.6.8, and have repaired permissions, verified the disc, and installed the 10.6.8 update combo.  Several previous questions have adressed this problem.  What is the solution?

DVD player 5.4 keeps crashing.  I have seen here that a number of other people have had this problem.  I recently started one DVD, and when I went back to it, it opened to a black screen twice.  It also crashes with other DVDs after I scroll ahead or back.  It gives an error message that it is skipping damaged areas, or sometines error 69889.  Playing this on a PC, however, there is no problem.  I repaired the permissions, verified the disc, and installed the OS 10.6.8 combo update, all to no avail.  Techs told me that it is usually the hardware, so I bought a LaCie external combo drive.  Still crashes.  Looked on Apple downloads and they don't list a 5.4 to replace this version.  Mac informer.com offers a free download for DVD 5.5- should I try this?  Why doesn't Apple fix this problem?

Your suggestions did not help.  I repeated them again after the first try did not succeed.  Any other ideas?
Would installing another copy of DVD 5.4 help?  How can I get another copy of DVD player 5.4, since Apple does not seem to offer it?  I do have the disc for Snow Leopard, but am not extremely tech savy (and maybe it is the same corrupted version).

  • Installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 on MacBook Pro OS 10.7.5, now my DVD player does not work. Ideas?

I installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 on MacBook Pro, OS 10.7.5. Now my DVD player will not work. Any ideas?

Problem solved. Yes, it was a coincidence. The problem had to do with my DVD preferences, not the Adobe installation. Thanks for your reply.
