DVD Player won't open in Full Screen Mode

I'm trying to run an unattended DVD during our opening hours and have everything set up to run automatically except for this.
I've checked all the appropriate boxes in the DVD player preferences (Open in Full Screen mode, start DVD upon player opening, etc.), but still no joy. Even if it's in full screen mode when it shuts down it will open in minimized format.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

And you set it in System Preferences>CDS & DVDs, change "When you insert a video DVD:" to Run Script..., then choose that script you just saved?
Yes.
Does it work then when you insert a DVD?
I will if I insert the DVD, but the way I have it set the computer shuts down at the end of the day and the DVD stays in the tray. When the computer starts up the next day (automatically through the Energy Saver schedule) it will begin to play, but always in the reduced size.
Is there a way to create a script that has the DVD eject when it shuts down?

Check System Preferences > Energy Saver
Select:  Put hard disks to sleep when possible
    Then click: Restore Defaults

Go to System Preferences (under the Apple logo in the menu bar).  Choose "General".  Click "Always close windows when quitting an application".
    That should fix it.

  • Safari will not open in full screen mode

After installing the 3-1-14 update from the Apps Store, Safari will not open in full screen mode when I click the double arrow in the upper right corner of the screen. If I try the View>Enter Full Screen it still will not open full screen. Prior to this update, everything was fine. I know the info on the update says it deals with iTunes and iBooks, but after installing it my problems began.
I am running the Mavericks (all updates installed) on an Mac mini (late 2013 edition), 16GB RAM.
    Any suggestions?

Please disregard my question. The issue disappeared after a cold boot. Thanks.

  • Remove "Open in Full Screen mode" from multiple files

    Hi there,
I just discovered today that I could use Javascript with Acrobat.
I download a lot of ebooks from a certain website that has them all set to open in Full Screen mode.  (Properties > Initial View > Windows Options > [x] Open in Full Screen mode)
I could fix a lot of stuff that was annoying me with ebooks from this site, but I can't seem to find anything to disable the full screen thingie...
I tried these commands that I found, but they didn't do the job :
    app.fs.isFullScreen = false;app.fullscreen = false;this.fs.isFullScreen = falsev;this.fullscreen = false;
    Thanks,
    Simo
    PS : Using Actobat X

Thank you both for your replies.
With Acrobat Pro you can set the Initial View through the batch process.
Would you mind explaining how to do this for a noob like me?
    Thanks,
    Simo

  • Automatically open in full screen mode?

Is there a way to set Lion apps to automatically open in full screen mode?

This is default behaviour if you quit the app while in full screen unless you checked (see picture) in System Preferences > General

  • Have Pinned site shortcut open in full screen mode (not maximized)

Hello.  I'm currently in the testing phases of migrating all of our users from a locally installed client version of their email to a web version of their email.  I'd really like the webmail version to look more like an application than a website.
Is there any way to make the pinned site shortcut (not all sites) open in full screen mode when double clicked?  Another wish list item would be for the URL field to be removed from it as well.  Chrome provides this functionality by making a site
into an application, but then any link you click on within your email opens up in Chrome and thats a deal breaker for me.  Does anyone know if this is possible in internet explorer 9?  Thanks in advance

any way to make the pinned site shortcut (not all sites) open in full screen mode when double clicked?
I think it does which is a surprise.  E.g. if you last closed an IE window in Fullscreen mode it can open up again in Fullscreen mode.  This may be in response to user complaints about Maximized mode which would still be a problem because that
is the OS doing.  However, even there it has always been possible to open a window from a shortcut in Maximized mode.  The problem is that any windows spawned from that one will have the original window's Normal mode attributes in terms of size and
    shape.

  • Safari won't open in full screen

I had to erase my hard drive and reinstall OSX 10.8.2 on my MBA. Now after I quit Safari in Full Screen on my MBA it won't open again in full screen as it did before I erased and reinstalled OSX. My Mac Mini has always reopened Safari in Full Screen after I close it in Full Screen. All Safari preferences on my Mac Mini and MBA are the same.
Can someone offer a suggestion on how to automatically open Safari in Full Screen?
    Thanks!

Mountain Lion is set up to close windows when you quit a program instead of saving them. To change this, put Safari in full-screen mode, move the cursor to the top, open Safari menu while holding Option key and close Safari from the menu.
If you want to do it automatically with all programmes, open System Preferences > General, and deactivate "Close windows when quitting an application"

  • IBooks Author HTML5 Widget won't open in full screen

    Hi,
I am building a ebook using iBooks Author, the ebook includes HTML5 widgets on several of the pages. Upon testing the book on desktop the HTML5 widgets work as they should (opening in full screen). However, when I test this on the latest iPad air, the widgets don't open in full screen. Instead they open as tiny thumbnails inside the space of the widgets icon. Has anyone else had this problem, and found a solution for it?
(P.S I have tested the ebook on older versions of the iPad as well, and on them the widgets open as they're supposed to - in full screen - so I am wondering if this is potentially a bug on the newer iPads?)

  • Firefox won't stay in full screen mode

Whenever I navigate away from a page or switch tabs in full screen mode, firefox goes out of it. I find this particularly annoying and I don't remember having this problem in earlier versions. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
edit: Just discovered it was an issue with the extension "ImageTweak"

    Hi,
Which method did you use to get Internet Explorer to open as full mode?
I have no dual monitor to do a test. however, you could try the kiosk mode, unless you remove the "-k" parameter, it won't toggle out of kiosk mode.
    The detailed steps is below:
    1. Right click the shortcut you used to open the Internet Explorer.
    2. Select its properties, in the Shortcut tab, click
Target text box, move your cursor to the very end of the text in it.
    3. Type " -k" at the end without quotation marks. You must precede the hyphen with a space as below.
    4. Click Apply and OK to finish it.
Note: Through this method, you must close the entire browser using a keyboard shortcut, such as "Alt-F4" or "Ctrl-W."

  • How can I get my safari screen to open in full screen mode

My Safari screen open with a small window, can I set it to open in full screen every time I click on Safari

You need to enable the program to resume what it was doing. so go to:
System Preferences > General > Uncheck "Close windows when quitting an application".
then go to safari, size the window how you want it, in your case put it in full screen, and then quit the program. when you open up safari again it should be in full screen view.
    Hope that helps!
