DVD Stuck before installation PLEASE HELP!
My machine is in perfect order. It can read and write any dvd so far.
I got Leopard, yesterday morning.
Inserted the DVD, it opens and I click on the installation icon.
It restarts and freeze on the spinning wheel and grey background. You can hear disk activity that stops after 10 minutes.
I called Apple Phone support, after rebooting ten times (holding C, holding alt-apple-R-P) nothing.
The DVD seems to be in order, no damage. Once verified by DISK Utility, is fine (and so it is my HD).
Any suggestions?
I never thought that I will experience such level of frustration with Mac. I was wrong.
Give it another try. But start with running disk utility to do repairs and permissions or use applejack. Unplug any usb and firewire devices that are not necessary.
Then install and don't be in a hurry it can take several hours to install. The first few screens may take a very long time and it may seam like activity has stopped but that still doesn't mean it's not working. Seeing that you could not eject the install disk would indicate it was actually still in use.
It took just under 2 hours for my install about 15 minutes before I could even choose the destination disk.

hello i put a 1.4Gb DVD in my MBP and the drive touck in like normal but when i went to eject it it got stuck in the drive its lauged too far ford for the sencers to pick it up so i wont to know how to get it out.
Use something thin and hard like a strip of plastic or the tip of a knife, hold it just on top of the disc and hit the eject key.
Some CD's/DVD's with labels or funny thickness have been known to get stuck. -

Hi I recently got a film DVD I wanted to take a clip off. However although I can watch the section I want in Windows Media Player, when I import the film into Premiere - some of it is missing! there are 4 files '4-1',4-2','4-3',4-4' which make up the movie. I can load them all in but 4-3 is missing the last 15-20 minutes, even though I know its there - cos this file is the same size as the previous one which is full length. Does anyone know why this would be? The DVD is unencrypted.
Please help - its quite annoying that the small section of film I want is the bit that won't appear! Thank you very much

I was assuming that it was not protected. However, as you point out, some aspects might be, and the OP might not be completely aware of this.
If there is protection, I strongly urge anyone to respect that, regardless of their intended use of the material. Copy protection is there for a very good reason. Regardless of what one might be able to do, they should be 100% ethical, and honor any/all copy protection. This is true for material from a videographer, or from a commercial studio. Should you need to use the material in such a DVD-Video, you should contact the author to get first permission, and then the original source material, that has not undergone the MPEG-2 compression to DVD-Video.
Again, I assume that the OP knows that this is NOT an issue, and will not figure into the problem. In that case, all above does NOT apply in this case, but some other reader might make note of it.

It won't let me drag an effect from the browser all of a sudden. I have always been able to do before. I am using effects from favorites bin and when I try to drag it to the timeline, it won't move. I have never had this problem before. Please help.
P.S. I have tried other effects including transitions and it still won't let me drag.Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)

I have a power Mac G4 cube with Mac OS 9.something. I'm not currently using it because we have a newer computer, but when I went to use it last night it showed me a question mark folder at startup and now I have a CD stuck in it that I can't get out.
I've tried holding the mouse down at startup to no avail...
Please help! How can I get my computer working again?if option doesn't work startup while holding down the left click on your mouse.
is it trying to eject but it wont make it all the way out or is it simply making no noise at all?

Touchpad cable Installation-Please Help, Mission Critical! Probook 4420s
The small, "L" shaped cable end that connects from the motherboard to the end connected to the touch pad is disconnected. The end is "L" shaped, with vertical portion of the "l" a solid blue plastic piece, labeled MB on one end. The horizontal portion of the "L is smaller, at the bottom, and has a metal connector (not Copper) one one side, blue on the order. I know to insert it into the motherboard port labeled "finger", but I'm unsure how the end connects correctly. This is a mission critical PC, as my office is closed, and need I need to connect to our Citrix environment. Would some please provide me with some instruction, or a video of how this can be installed? This is not a driver or device setting issue, only a hardware install issue.

6. Yes, boot off the 10.6 DVD, & no Snow Leopard does by default what we used to call an Archive & Install, saves & updates all your info, APPs, Music, etc., it may quarantine a few things or not but will tell you.
7. Absolutely, but Panic won't be needed with your great preparation & Bootable Backups!

• Start the Mac
• Find the iMovie pref file and trash this
• Now first - Re-Start iMovie

I Need help, my wife and myself just got new phones. I got the iPhone 6 and my wife got the 6 Plus, we set our phones up and for some reason I am recieving all her text messages. Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. See Apple - My Apple ID and Frequently asked questions about Apple ID. The easiest way is to do this on the computer using iTunes: iTunes- How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes.
On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library. Note that once done you cannot "share" apps under a single Apple ID. Each of you must purchase your own apps under your own Apple ID. When you decide to split up like this one of you will need to re-purchase the apps that they want to use.
Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data. Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Now, tap on My Photo Stream album; tap Select; tap on the photos you want to select;, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow) in the lower left corner; then tap Save to Camera Roll.
If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep then you need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself. Later you can copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.
Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

Not getting past step 2 out of 3 with flash installer. please help!
Im trying to run MP3 rocket pro.
I have already made it run once since downloading it. Once i closed mp3 rocket and tryed reopening it. I got the box saying i needed to install flash player 10 or higher. I go to adobe and download it. I open up my download folder and hit run and the box disaperes but nothing happens. i then try to click on the download box again but it says only one program can run at a time. Im stuck at this point. i have gotten nowhere with internet Explorer so i uninstalled it and tryed to download chrome but now thats not running correctly . I have tryed installing and uninstalling adobe and mp3 rocket and got nowhere. its just chewing up my internet.
this is a 2nd hand laptop so should i just do a rebot and be done with it or ?

IMac shuts down during Mac OS X Bootcamp Installation PLEASE HELP!!
Hi,
Just opened my new iMac and have installed Windows XP Professional SP 2. I have inserted the Mac OS X installation disc, per the instructions, but Boot Camp won't install in Windows! It looks like it is going to copy files, but then it just shuts down all of a sudden and reboots to Windows. Once it is rebooted, there is a "critical error" message - yikes! I wish I didn't need Windows on my new Mac, but I have to have it for work. Please please please help.

Please Help! For school we need to install JAVA. I installed JDK 5.0 and id did not work. I got exception in thread "main" java.lang.noclassdeffounderror: hello. I was using Texpad to write, compile, and run it. In short I deleted all JAVA 5.0 using My Computer program removal. I installed JAVA 1.4..2_10 and I am still getting that same error.
My System Variable CLASSPATH still shows C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_03\lib\ext\QTJava.zip. My System Variable PATH has nothing as far as JAVA in it. MY PATHEXT has JS and JSE amoung other things in it. My System Variable QTJAVA still has Files\Java\jre1.5.0_03\lib\ext\QTJava.zip in it.
Please tell me step-by-step how I can fix this. I never updated these variables before. What do I need to type and where? What do I need to get rid of or change?
PLEASE HELP!
